This should be a landmark! Mr Pete has done well surviving a pandemic. Tasty Soul food, top notch live music and an attentive staff whose welcoming demeanor makes for an evening out of class.

Red Bull DJ event. Fun time for all. Several DJs on multiple floors. Video art was on display. And several different types of music played. Everyone was chill and no drama. Hadnt been to Geoffreys in YEARS still an excellent venue to go get your party on.

Gorgeous, old school, club & bar. Inexpensive but cool as hell & center of downtown Oakland. Go for jazz night!

Beautiful historic venue on the inside. Sketchy area on the outside. Do NOT leave any items visible in your car or you will come back to a smashed car window. I was watching shady people looking into my car windows all day. So sketch.

I didnt like to climb the stairs but their food was great and we had a good time doing the Chicago stepping.

This is a private club. Usually a venue for wedding receptions and celebrations. It turns into a jazz club on Sunday night. All the folks were great. I suspect the food was tasty, but none of it is on my eating program. I did have a glass of wine. $7 was okay. It was satisfactory. But the entertainment was superb. Really talented folks!

Security was on point. Great deal on food. DJ was playing GOOD dancing music. Mixed age group for this PARTICULAR event..😄

Geoffrey’s has been around 30+ years and if you want to have a wonderful time at a classy, mature and upscale venue this is the place to visit while in the Bay Area.. The Sunday jazz and special events are quite nice, too!!👍🏾👍🏾

Hey Geoffrey this is the lady you told, “you are being too enthusiastic”, while I was listening to the wonderful band playing with YANCY TAYLOR. To help further with your recollection, I am the same woman that whispered in your ear before leaving your establishment, “You haven’t made it yet”. Here’s the thing Geoffrey, you’re the proverbial woman with the nice new gown, but when she lifts her dress, her stocking are ‘full of runs’. Your $60 tweeted blazer, your $45 knock off fake, out of date, Stacy Adam shoes, and your $35 Sears pants, is truly a reflection of who you are. How is it possible you think you have any sophistication?Geoffrey, your cover charge is $10.00, you serve a buffet meal, with styrofoam containers, not to go food... but to eat there! Oh! You and your business have such sophisticated... You are laughable... You and your establishment represents nothing more than a cheap date.Unbeknownst to you, I went to your club to not only enjoy a bit of jazz, but to consider booking a few bands that play venues such as Three Musketeer, Trivoli, Copenhagen, Denmark, Germany. But that will never be, as I like to accommodate my musicians with ceramic plates and sliver flatware when food is being served.It is you Geoffrey that make your establishment unworthy to visit.

Geoffreys is a real part of Oaklands cultural heritage. Jazz on Sunday evenings is a real treat, and it ends with an hour-long jam session.

This place is pretty cool only went to see an Xavier Wolfe and it was upstairs and downstairs is the bar area and the roof was close to caving in they moved everyone downstairs but decided to leave after that because the owner started getting on people for smoking marijuana, but it was an underground rap show so... but besides that that place would be good to see a jazz show or something else rather than a rap show..

The people that give hot meals out to the community. during the Holidays, they are truly a blessing!

I attended a business mixer here. The bartender (short, thick and bald-headed) has a major attitude. I think she was overwhelmed with 3 people waiting for drinks (me being the 3rd). I truly believe this chick put something in my drink. I asked for a top shelf margarita with Don Julio. Then asked her to make it a Cadillac. I only had one and was deathly ill for 2 days. I should have known better to drink anything from a person with that much venom on their face...but I had no idea she would attempt to poison me. Watch out for that one y’all...Dangerous with a capital “D”!!!!!!!!

This place has been a staple in Oakland for a really long time, and it is still a great place to kick it on the weekend while in Oakland, if you like a mixed crowd. The couple of times Ive been here, the only thing I could find wrong with the layout, is the fact they could use a nice renovation. However, the building is probably an upgrade away from becoming the poor contractors nightmare. What they do have going for them, is a gray staff attentive to big crowds. The buffet, which consisted of fried fish, grilled chicken, greens, potato salad, and some delicious jiffy mix cornbread was actually delicious for the setting and bulk cooked. Had a great time here every time Ive visited, and seems as though they had live music lady time I went, and two different genre DJs before that.

A friend took me there last Sunday night. Its a small venue for very enjoyable jazz. She knew many of the attendees. Folks were hospitable. I thought the music was excellent. Im not a jazz buff, but I really enjoyed the evening. After about an hour of listening to the headline singer, there was an hour of open mic. I really was amazed at their talent I enjoyed them as much as the headliner.For $10 there was an optional buffet of Soul Food. It looked tasty but not food that I choose to eat. My friend loved it. We parked a short distance away for free in a lot. Personally, I am not comfortable walking in Oakland at night. I would only go with someone, certainly not alone. Oh, I forgot the $10 cover charge. It was worth it. A glass of wine with $7, admittedly, a small glass of wine.Geoffrey, the club owner, was so dear and gracious. The elevator was not working after they had tried to fix it. He was so apologetic. I immediately liked the man.

I enjoyed the Sunday night Jazz. They sold catfish dinners for $10 and they were delicious and a great, great price.
