Just signed up today and seems to be a real good gym for serious training. Will update this review after a month or so.Reasonable price and month to month membership with a not so cheap initiation fee.Sauna and steam room out of order, not sure if its because covid or if it will be fixed soon, will update later.Most equipment you would want including Reverse Hyper machine. Only things I would add would be a Belt Squat Machine and one of those vibration plate machines.Plenty of boxing bags and a boxing ring.

By far one of the best and cleanest gyms Ive ever worked out in. Not only do they have some of the greatest equipment by far it makes the other gyms like la fitness pale in comparison. When it comes to the covid-19 saftey they are on the ball. Their staff is breaking back and balls to keep that place 100% spotless. But as for the awesome machines their staff is 100% well-rounded in all aspects of nutrition as well as giving you their wealth of knowledge in pulling out every ounce of your bodys full potential. So hands down this is my home for working out. My wife has been a member longer than me and the results are staggering. If not for the zoo and there awesome staff I know some things physically my wife would have never overcome if not for the great health of the gym and their understanding of body physiology thank you ZOO you have a great crew.

This gym is a scam. Joined a challenge here one month before COVID hit. Gym closed obviously, we were still billed by. A third party billing company even though gym was closed!! This was during a pandemic people. When gym reopened they never notified anyone! I left 10 messages never received a call back! Subsequently we moved out of town and I was still being billed by this scam company. Sent a certified cancellation letter and money they said I owed even though I never stepped foot in gym. Now they want to charge a cancellation fee and are refusing to cancel my membership! TotL scam and the Zoo has washed their hands of entire situation! Complete scam people stay away far away!!!

No Masks required as youre working out the sauna and showers are not available major complaint is there is non-stop hard Rock playing all throughout the gym unless you like that kind of music it is annoying to hear that while youre working out.

I love the ZOO GYM, this place is amazing, like everything under the sun too possibly“ train “with is in this gym, the staff is very personable friendly & accomodating, like they really enjoy what they are doing and go above & beyond to get all ages, on a super personal level there fitness goals met . I began with a trainer here MS. Taylor 6 weeks ago on just specifically hips & glutes a very troubled weak area for me, I’m beginning to feel stronger than ever and much more confident and capable, I’m 52 and was looking to get stronger for later in life and found my happy place here .MR.GILL is the person I joined with he knew who would be the best fit for my desire so quickly after I joined he led me to TAYLOR she’s amazing as they all are 😇

Its a really nice gym. Very big anything you can imagine they have. Few bad things. They change membership price without warning. As a person of color somedays I would feel comfortable other days I wouldnt. Other then that its a great gym.

Well equipped, a lot of variety and options for exercises, really helpful and friendly staff!Many of the machines are showing their age, but that hardly affects our workouts.Probably my favorite thing: the floor is very spacious; even during peak hours, the place never feels crowded or packed.

I was never big into working out until I broke my neck. After several surveys the doctor told me if I exercise Ill never have problems. I joined & doctor said I healed fast. Ive been going 2-3 times a week since & never felt better. This place is great. I get in & out with no hassles. Everyones kind & helpful!

I have been going to this gym for over 4 years and when I tried to cancel my membership it was unbelievable what I had to go through to cancel it. I was double charge fees, I was told multiple times my membership was cancelled but they continued to charge my account every month and when I requested the return of the money I was told I had to produce a cancellation receipt that I was never given to get my money returned. WOW unbelievable . Do not sign up to this Gym because you will be cheated every time....... The Owner Gil is a Thief Never seen this before in a Business

I said it on yelp but l say it again because this place doesn’t get the praise it deserves: Gil and the rest of the crew at the Zoo is so incredible and friendly— every time I am in town visiting from college, I get a guest pass here and I love it every time. Awesome amenities— they have boxing equipment, a barre room, CrossFit tires, sleds, etc. and of course tons of machines with a focus on free weights. No 100 machine cardio section here— just how I like it! The community that frequents this gym is very friendly and dedicated to their fitness which makes it a great place to work out! This place is disgusting. It’s never cleaned, there’s blood and feces all over the women’s bathroom and broken glass everywhere. Many times they’ve started to vacuum while I was working out, causing hives. Also many sections are over crowded with equipment which is not safe. I’ve hurt myself many times. Only tolerated this gym because it fit my husbands weightlifting needs. We moved and decided to cancel and they gave me the hardest time. They made me drive 75 miles to come in and then the refused to help me with my questions about shady billing and asked to call me back. Beware, unless you cancel your card, they will continue to charge you and refuse to help you when you call or show up. Poor customer service.

First let me start off by saying the gym is nice. Has everything you need, but the company itself is trash!! Paid and contracted for 3 months of training.. called and called and called again.. to figure out why I was charged after my training contact ended.. they then tried to get me by saying we will give you free months of membership so they didnt have to pay me back for over charging me.. I said no and they said it would take a month to refund me... here we are at a month.. and still not refund... .. . Again.. trashy company..

Its convenient if you like close by but Ive signed up twice and left twice. Everything is old and theres better cleaner options out there!

Its a fantastic gym and i love going here to work out, but this is a highly competitive area for gyms and it seems like a lot of the equipment here is relatively old compared to what you will find at other gyms.

I have a membership at you fit, but rarely go because this gym is so much better.The rating for this gym is not accurate. If you look, all the negative ratings were fromm a year or more ago. Gil, the owner, has really turned this place around!!! No broken equipment, place Is clean, and he has almost doubled the amount of machines. There is never a problem finding open equipment to work out on... unlike LA Fitness.

Great gym powerlifting friendly. But just like everywhere else, somebody always has to curl in the squat rack. Good thing is they have 5 (squat racks) so it works out. Glad I joined.

The owner, Gil, is a thief. He doesnt pay employees and steals from anyone with an open wallet. Great location and good equipment. But I would never recommend this gym to anyone. Friendly staff, wide variety of equipment, the element of members is very respectful and polite, the atmosphere is great, totally like this gym, absolutely nothing negative about this place.

Be careful with this company. Month to month contract can be misleading. After canceling my membership I started receiving mail notice from a collection agency. Long story short I was forced to pay $297 or they would sue me in federal court for $1289. Stayed away from this place or if canceling get written confirmation. The staff is young and inexperienced; concerns about their looks and not how to provide a decent customer service. Probably not their fault but the company that fails to provide a good customer service training program. I plan to peruse with BBB and the Florida State Attorneys Office. If you are a smart consumer, stay away from this place.

The best gym I’ve ever been to outside the military! Coming from Youfat and Planet Fatness this gym is heaven sent, it has all the equipment one could ever ask for as well as rooms dedicated to powerlifting, boxing, floor exercises and aerobic classes - I absolutely love it here!

If I could give this gym no stars, I would. First of all, every single member of their staff is completely rude, even the managers. Half of their equipment is not working, and has been sitting there damaged for months. Their spin class is a joke. The room is tiny, with a dirty, old wall unit A/C that barely works. The bikes are old and out dated. The teachers could barely keep the class going because of their own inability to spin. If three people showed up for a class, it would be a miracle. Teachers were constantly quitting because of the conditions of the gym. Watch out for their cancellation procedures too. I cancelled my membership two months ago, and they still charged me for a maintenance fee because it takes 2 months to cancel the membership. I havent even used the gym in 2 months! The fact that the manager I spoke with was the nastiest woman ever and had no remorse for charging someone a fee when they havent used their facilities in two months. How this is even legal is beyond me. This place is a rip off, with rude staff and stinky machines! DONT JOIN THIS GYM.

Just signed up and I like the equipment they have. I could do without some of those fees but its whatever cuz I know I m going to get more than my $$ worth. Ive set clear expectations on my short term membership so I hope that goes smooth once I transition. But so far so good. Look forward to making progress their while im still in the south.

The reviews on this make me laugh. This is definitely no LA Fitness, but if youre going there to get sweaty and work out then this place is awesome. Yes in the beginning the sales reps are a bit pushy, but its their job. Show me a gym that doesnt do this. Love this gym, not pristine and shiny but its a gym. It serves its purpose well.

Ok so I havent even worked out besides the tour they gave me of the gym. The people there are very nice! I signed up for a free pass online and the next day I received a phone call from a very enthusiastic girl named lauren. Ive never gotten a phone call like that before, it made me feel welcome before I even stepped inside. (Which is huge for me.) I came in the next day and sat with her talked about my goals. They offer boxing classes with membership as well which is something Ive always wanted to do. Not to mention the sauna and steam rooms are a plus. Its not the best looking gym but honestly Im going there to sweat...not dance in a ballgown. I love it. Cant wait to start!

BEWARE OF THIS GYM! Horrible customer service, machines that never work, charging for classes now on top of the monthly fee and just overall a filthy dump of a gym. There is dust in there since 5 years ago. Never clean, can barely breathe and the air conditioning just never seems to be working. Along with having to search through all the machines to find a functional one, the staff doesn’t even look up to acknowledge you when entering or leaving the gym unless you’re a meathead or fitness model. I’ve gone to this gym for years and have watched it go down hill since. Be wary of giving them your checking account information and good luck trying to leave if you have joined. I’m so glad I switched to my new gym and never looking back.

I have worked out at LA Fitness for over 2 years, it was way too talky, and forget the locker room. Zoo is a great place to get a great workout and none of the other issues.

I really like this gym, however, the gym raised the membership fee to almost double without any warning. When I called to get a credit for the balance, the woman in billing was really rude and said there are no refunds or credits. Seems pretty fraudulent to me and it has upset a lot of others, so I would beware.

This gym is horrible! Do not join. They have a sign on the window, Sign up now for FREE but they charge a sign up fee. Many things in the Mens change room do not function. Only 3 showers no soap in 2 of them. Sauna has not worked since I joined. Steam room is constantly breaking down and very poorly designed, directing all of the heat to the top leaving your legs cold. When you complain about the problems staff usually gives you excuses and try to change the subject. I cancelled my membership only 14 days after joining but because of their policys I will have to remain a member for 3 months! Some of the staff members seem nice but many are rude.

I called to collect general information while considering gym memberships near work. The staff seems nice and friendly, and that should not be lost on this review as I would rate them a 5 based on my interaction. It is process and policy with which I am annoyed.I asked for pricing information for membership and I found it odd that they would not discuss it over the phone - I must visit the location first. I explained that while this may seem important for some, it is not for me. While qualifying me, she confirmed that they have elliptical machines, rowing machines, and are open during the times I would work out. Still adamant that I must come see the gym first, I was told dues range from $19-$50 a month, but they would not provide context aside from confirming that range of rates includes a schedule of various initiation fees and term lengths (but nothing more specific regarding those considerations).It seems silly to me that they cannot have a simple, transparent conversation over the phone regarding their fee structure. It doesnt bode well for a company that has been the subject of much taking issue with their policies and practices online with groups such as BBB and across social networks, especially considering how shopping decisions are made now (and have for some time now). People make large real estate transactions sight unseen, but one cannot purchase a fitness membership by way of phone, internet, or even fax machine.While this review has been posted anonymously, this is a monitored e-mail address and I would be more than happy to hear from the club or anyone else with any concerns with the authenticity or accuracy of the information written here within.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. ***** I do not recommend****** Initially when I signed up they gave me a tour and told me the sauna and steam room would be fixed. Never happened! They also said at any time if could cancel via telephone which is a lie. Then I was told it had to be in writing via email, sent the email two months ago. Still never happened. Then I was told only on Tuesdays when management was available to call and speak to her. I spoke to management who initially set up account again and she feels that she has done nothing wrong. Other then completely lieing to me multiple times to me. Unlike her, I remember the one place I signed up for not the dozen of lies I tell people each day. Here we are four months later and still being charge. Now they say they need a certified letter! 4 months later, and the owner no longer allows to cancel via phone or email. This staff is the absolute worst, the facility is not worth going to, mediocre at best and still the equipment never worked right since day 1. I will leave a bad review everyday I am being mislead and mis-charged.

Horrible experience, tried canceling 3 times sent emails they dont care. Might as well call it Ballys fitness from the past. They will keep billing you, do not join here at all costs. I wont even give 1 star but you have to in order to post. Be prepared to have a call center keep calling you for payment that says they have nothing to do with your gym just pay the money.

It has weights, machines, and cardio equipment(which are very often broke). If you are looking for luxuries such as air conditioning, a water fountain that actually dispenses cold water instead of room temp., or treadmills that arent missing the control buttons, keep looking. Otherwise, I implore you, pay a rate that reflects the condition of the gym. 20/month max, maybe less now that ufit up the street has a 100/year deal.

WAY WAY better than LA Fitness if you dont need basketball or swimming. Nicely equipped gym with mostly average people that mostly dont know how to work out but thats ok with me. I get in, get out with no crowds and thats what I like.

Do Not fall for their 30 day cancellation! They are frauds! When it came down to canceling, I gave 30 days notice but they still kept my last month pre-paid making up all these excuses as to how their 30 days works. Very different from when they sold me. Not to mention how dirty the gym is and the lack of expertise of the instructors! I should have looked at the reviews before signing up.

I 150% agree with Victer Prez - this could be such a fabulous facility, but the staff is pitiful. I, too, had a terrible experience with Gus the trainer - he promised me he would be running my sessions and then pulled a bait and switch and tried to get me to work out with some 12 year old with no experience.The management is totally unprofessional and hasnt a clue what customer service is all about. Some smart entrepreneur should buy this place, fire them all, and turn it into the top quality facility it could be.

Good machines, ample amount of free weights and plates for everybody. Only thing preventing me to give 5 stars is the condition of some of the cardio equipment i.e. out of order, not in good condition. But still, the volume of the working cardio equipment is enough I guess. Theres also a room with a lot of boxing equipment, 2 rooms actually ;Plus a huge room where classes are held for, I guess, yoga or pilates; a power lifting area with a monolift rack. I cant detail everything as this gym is huge and I dont even go inside some of the areas, better visit the place. The staff are friendly as well.

I just joined this gym a few weeks ago and so far so good. Pros: Ive gone before work and late morning weekends and never been crowded so I can get to any machine or area I want or rarely need to work in with someone. General members are nice, courteous, average types. No juced up muscleheads that Ive seen yet. Variety of machines and weights are good. I would consider myself advanced I can do a variety of routines with what they have. Joining was simple and easy and rate was much less than LA. Place is always fairly clean. Cons: For the cable machines that need grip handles, you wold think there would be one pair for each machine, but theres not. So if there happens to be one person on each machine (which I have not encountered yet), Im not sure what happens as there are not enough grips to go around. Same thing with pins. You have to grab one off adjacent machine so if they were all in use, not sure what would happen. The place could use some more TVs especially cardio. They need to relax on selling training. No means no.

First off I have been at this club forever. It is awesome. So much better than la because its not as packed. I usually work out 7-10pm at night and theres nobody there. Second its under new managment and boy have things changed. I have been here for 2 years and the front staff is awesome especially Angie. I am a college hockey player and Zoo has everything I need. I have used the bathrooms and sauna and I have never seen a roach. But this is florida so bugs are prevolent. To tell u the truth I never plan on switching as It has everything I need. You go to a gym to workout not socialize and if you want that country club feel go to la and wait in huge lines to workout. Not for me I will be sticking with Zoo forever.

This gym is a rip-off. They double charged my auto monthly debit and when I cancelled my membership they agreed that the double charge would credit as my last month. Two months later they again charged my account. I now need to cancel my membership a second time and process a reversal of charge with my bank. When discussing with the gym’s finance person, she has a very rude attitude.

Have been going to this location for a couple of months now and am very dissapointed with it My issurance pays for it so when the year is up am moving to la fitness -- machines there are always and i mean always broken -- the steam room was fixed after months of being broken it worked for about a month and now its been broken again for months !!! they have roaches in the steam room and sauna how this is possible is beyond me not to mention that they serve food and even will make you a shake LOL not ME -- I can only comment on this location have not been to any of the others so not sure if the whole chain is the same or just this particular location they dont care about !!

I joined because LA Fitness was overcrowded. I joined in Zoo Oct 2011 and it was decent for the price but I was iffy about how the experience would turn out. I should have stayed at LA. I got in for some deal that was $19.99 for the first 100 people or to that effect. They must have had that sign up for months and to the first 1000 persons. The good and bad reviews here are all true so I wont waste my time on that subject matter. I knew what I was paying for but had intentions of leaving once my year was up. I would probably rate this at least a 1 or 2 but Im giving it a zero after my experience attempting to cancel my membership as my job relocated me to TX where there is no facility. After the experience of trying to cancel my membership I would have to say this is the last time I join a small gym. Make sure you read your cancellation notice before you ever sign any membership. The back of my contract said to contact facility on front side. This location said they no longer do that and I must contact their billing company National Fitness. National Fitness is the worst outsourcing Ive seen in my life. I had to part the Red Sea like Moses or give my first born child to cancel. They told me they needed one of 8 specific types of documents to cancel and they could not process it until its submitted on their website and furthermore takes 3-5 business days to process. Everyone of the corpses I spoke to is a drone and sticks, follows, and hides behind their cold, lifeless, corporate cancellation policies. You cannot even speak to a supervisor or manager if you want to. On top of that they usually have long hold times sometimes in excess of ten minutes. I made more than a dozen phone calls and took roughly a month from the time I gave them the initial date of cancellation notice to cancel. After all my frustration went to a new level, they told me you must submit a complaint on their website. No worries they wont even call you. They are based out of Utah and even found out they were closed one day for a Mormon holiday on a Tuesday in July. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I could only hope this book of a frustration may steer someone away from this wretched facility. The most satisfaction Ive received was when Jesus the manager worked his way through the red tape bureaucracy to make it happen and writing this scathing review. Buyer beware stay away or at least weigh cost/services provided and READ CANCELLATION NOTICE.The best experience was when the woman at National Fitness told me to read the contract and its cancellation policies. I told her maybe she should read it before giving me a load of bologna. She put me on hold and after being on the phone for fifteen minutes I did like any other educated reasonable person would do.. hang up. These trained chimpanzees are even aware of their own policies.I was hoping they would reimburse me for my cellular minutes, time spent on lunch breaks at work but not holding my breath while they still continue to charge my card while hopefully my Visa wont charge my the interest while the charges are pending despite their 60 day dispute resolution period. Selling my house in FL was easier. Thanks for reading.
