Omg! I love this gym! This gym have way more than planet fitness. LA Fitness have a swimming pool. So Get your swimming trunks ready and come on down. And the exercise equipment? Amazing! Im glad I left planet fitness, LA Fitness is new gym home.

Great gym but dumbells are always missing or scattered, sauna doesnt get very hot anymore like it used to. Overall not bad though. The employees are really nice

The showers and pool could just use better care.I wont be returning to shower or swim but the equipment is cool.Has all the works though.Super friendly staff.

It is what it is. I usually go in the mornings and cannot really relate any afternoon or evening attendance crowds. I like the convenience of the place and have been a member for years(cant tell though, but i take blame for that). Good machines and staff that keeps the place in good shape.

Overall the gym is cool but what makes it amazing are the trainers, 1 in particular, Kevin G . I definitely recommend if you join this gym to holla at him . He will get you right!!

I never fill our reviews, but this gym is the worse! The gym is dirty, unorganized and outdated. There’s always 3+ “workers” sitting at the front desk chatting, instead of taking the time to clean/re-rack the weights.

I have been a member for a total of one day but so far I have no complaints.

No access to basketball court as advertised; when I signed up for my membership the salesperson did not inform me of this and I told her this was the main reason that I was joining. I have been calling for over five weeks to check if their basketball court is in operation each week they tell me the same thing the repairs will be done and court open next week. False advertisement

Plenty of equipment, truly no bad vibes or judge-y looks. Facility is always clean, staff are friendly and the crowd meter is awesome.

-2 stars because the cleanliness is horrible. The garbage cans are always full and locker rooms are super dirty. Also the restrooms are ALWAYS out of soap. Management please do something about it we shouldn’t see a dirty gym It tells a lot about who’s running this place. If it wasn’t for the dirty part a solid 5 stars

Update 8/10/21: after multiple complaints by multiple people to multiple departments at LA Fitness aka eSPORTa theyre finally enforcing no speakers in pool area 🤞🏻👏🏻Update:7/25/21:The manager at this facility is awful at enforcement. The pool area now has multiple people BLASTING their own BT speakers competing to be loudest. Multiple complaints, other members tell me they complain often, and one claims someones told them to find an older person friendly gym then. Ive also spoke directly to the manager. Nothing done. Can one imagine the echo effect blastic speakers have in the pool area. Deafening!Update 4/5/21:I feel bad continuing to lower the stars at this facility because the staff are friendly and the cleaners do a good job at an increasingly busy gym. But lack of mask enforcement past the front door is ridiculous. As Illinois continues to threaten to lock down restrictions again during our 3rd wave, Id hate to be in yet another epicenter. Ive been emailing corp with promises of how serious they take it and someone will be reaching out. To no avail.Perhaps run announcements and put warnings to continue to wear mask across the TV screens? And ask people to leave if they dont comply.Update: one week later theyre still cleaning and doing a good job however the lack of enforcement for people to keep their masks on their faces is mind boggling. I would appreciate someone walking around occasionally and asking them to mask up!!Try losing several people to this horrible virus and maybe enforcement would be better!At least their necks and chins are safe from covid 😐Original post:Today was only my 2nd time there but Im pleased so far. Social distancing and cleaning appears to be followed by most. Pool is relatively clean for a public gym. I plan on continuing to use this facility as everyone is very nice and will update review over time.

Probably the most unappealing la fitness in the chicagoland area I have been to. I live pretty close and would rather drive to the arlington or alsip location. Youre trying to promote health and taking care of yourself and this gym is a train wreck. The weights are all missing and never in the right place. Tissue left on the floor. Practice what youre preaching.

Ive been a member for years at L.A. Fitness. As a fitness enthusiast, I find L.A. Fitness to be a great place out of a number of gyms where you can reach your goals. Compared to other gyms, they have a variety of cardio and resistance machines and free weights to suit every fitness level. They also have a pool and a sauna which is great after a workout. They staff is friendly and they keep the gym pretty clean, and the location for me is also a plus. I would recommend this gym.

Quick workout

Clean facility and great location. Staffs were friendly and the place was not that crowded when I visited earlier. Their bathroom was clean and the equipment were working perfectly.

Every night BEFORE closing, the lights are turned off and you CANNOT SEE anything! I can’t even begin to explain how unsafe this is, nor should I have to. It is pitch black in the locker room to the point where myself and other patrons in the building are unable to safely locate personal items to exit the building. Ridiculous, I’ve never experienced this at any other location. Clearly the safety of patrons is not valued at this location, just that employees are out of the building as quickly as possible.

Staff and members are good people

So... while there are a few cool people who go here, it seems like a lot of the club members who go to this location are super important people? Because they will take a bunch of equipment and never put it back, or take up multiple tools and equipment even when the gym is really busy? I don’t know, maybe they pay more for their membership than the rest of us who go here so they don’t feel the need to share? I wish to one day be as important as them. I’ll take all the dumbbells and bars and make a pile of them in the corner while I use multiple machines all by myself and no one will use them but me even if the gym is at guest capacity.

My Favorite!

Called corporate multiple times about this facilitys cleanliness and staff. There is never any soap in the mens bathroom. Theres like ten sinks and none of them have soap. Never any paper towels. Gym is poorly managed, you can tell by how many different general managers they have had in just the last 8 months. Its pathetic. Theres no sanitizer outside or paper towels in the workout area either. So that means machines are not being wiped down and cleaned after each use. No shower curtains. Sauna not cleaned. Place is very disgusting. Other gym members keep addressing the issue but nobody is doing anything about it because they cannot even hang on to one general manager that wants to deal with the garbage. Not to mention they kick us out ten minutes before closing time

Ive only used the pool/whirlpool/sauna area. All are as expected and well maintained. Exercise areas look nice as well.My only complaint would be the shower stalls. Each one should have a grab bar and shelf. Not only would this provide a safer showering area, I believe this would free up the roll in shower for those that need.

Gym closes early and they turn off the lights on us when we in the shower. Almost tripped one time. Dont see how they dont see that as a liability? If gym members are not ready to leave the gym, maybe stay open an hour later? You really cannot afford to stay open an hour later?This gym is under such poor management, they can barely hold on to employees. Sometimes they bring employees from other gyms because it is so poorly managed.

Update 6/26/2020 - you can only cancel between 9 and 3 on weekdays because only a singular person can cancel memberships while there are always two or three ready to sign you up. Clearly they’re making it as difficult as possible. This place always had issues (see below) but don’t even bother at this point. With Covid and their practices just get out and enjoy the sun.————————It’s great! They shut off all the lights while you’re still working out - fifteen minutes before closing.You get additional mental stimulation in finding weights because people really dig hide and seek here. Don’t worry the gym associates won’t go around making them easier to find.If you don’t like the music, don’t worry! Plenty of your fellow gym goers will bring their own speakers and play their own picks loudly. The party never ends!Finally I’ve seen that many members find that this is a great place with lots of seating to hold video conferences on speaker phone. Seating is first come first serve with no limit on time though. So hurry in case you actually wanted to use a certain piece of equipment so you can get in before someone else’s half hour conference call.

Very bad trainers !! They try to convince you so bad with their program and once you sign up they just disappear and no one will keep up with you ! You have to call and keep asking and sometimes they sign you with someone and then cancel on you. Waste of time and money !! Don’t sign up

I was shocked that hardly anyone had on a mask. I felt very uncomfortable and cut my workout short. It was barely any staff around. And no one was enforcing wearing a mask. I wont be coming back

Not bad pretty much what you get at LA. Except on several occasions there are members playing thier own music out load. I personally brought this to the kid at the desks attention and he pretty much blew me off. Next time Ill just ask the guy myself.

They are doing great with Covid-19 protocols, however they need to extended their hours like other locations to 5am-9pm.

I really enjoy going here because it is such a busy, big gym. I like getting lost in the crowd. The class schedules are extremely flexible and varied, which has been wonderful with my crazy schedule. Honestly, none of the nearby locations can compare with their classes. I know that equipment and commodities break down a lot, but they are almost always fixed in a timely manner. I think a lot of this has to do purely with the amount of use this gym sees on a daily basis.The pool is usually a little chilly, and the jacuzzi is too small for the amount of people going, but the overall attitude of fellow gym members is pleasant enough that everybody gets where they want to go. Also, this is the ONLY LA Fitness I have been to where I have actually seen cleaning happen consistently. There is always someone cleaning in the womens locker room, and usually cleaning happening in the showers in the mornings.Some of the front desk people are less than friendly, but the core staff and personal trainer are out of this world. Yode is adept at knowing when to push you and when to be patient. I never thought I would love going to the gym, but this location has made me a gym goer for life.

Trainers are definitely highly motivating and friendly. Some of the front desk workers are not the friendliest. Equipment needs to be fixed more efficiently as well as water fountains. The cleanliness has improved since the beginning. If rating my trainer individually I would give my personal trainer a 5* as he has helped me change my life for the positive.

Trainers are always there if you need help. Clean and friendly environment. No awkward feeling when working out.

I prefer the Alsip location to this one. 88ths hot tub is small. Pool has far too much chlorine, as my eyes were burning. Locker room has historically had many tiny flying insects. Lots of water on the floor in the areas between the locker entrance and the pool. Not as clean. I was there 2 hours and didnt see a custodian. At Alsip, there are two custodians constantly visible, always mopping and cleaning.

Nothing too crazy. Its extremely nice and clean to get your workout in.

Was here as a guest of one of the trainers. I actually swimming pool to exercise I had the best work out the pool was not crowded at all. And I enjoyed it because I know that they recently clean the pool

Pretty good gym. Some of the equipment can be better but I cant complain because it still does the job. I love the people there too, always giving advice or motivation if you ever need it. Stop being lazy, go work out guys!

If you dont need a personal trainer and are looking for a place to workout that is convenient, then this is it!I can always find a machine, the showers work and the front desk staff is helpful. On the downside, the machines are super old, and if they took the time to invest in newer equipment, it would warrant at least a half-star higher rating, as the membership fees should allow for a better looking facility-- So if you are look for state of the art tech-gym atmosphere, you wont find it here-- but as stated, there is a nice variety of cardio and resistance machines for everyone and the aerobics instructors are very enthusiastic and theres even a pool ! overall grade: C! Room for improvement, but overall, worth a try!

Great location... Classes... but for ladies that like to shower after a workout??. The showers are HORRIBLE... MILDEW/MOLD/SCUM!!!! Nasty... unhealthy. I did report to management so hoping as seen it will be cleaned.

Great place to workout

These days people like myself are considering working out, we start looking at the basic facilities, the mid range and the top of the line places.LA fitness is a midrange facility with the same amenities as the large clubs without the prices. I particularly like the MYZONE program to challenge myself, all the modern amenities, and a low membership fee without giving up safety in dimly lit parking areas

They to bring Lupita back, shes one of the best in the Chicagoland area in Zumba, shes the only reason why I and so many other keep our membership

Customer service response was timely and very friendly. Has all workout equipments but you really need to consider your finances

No paper towels in sight to clean equipment with. The bathrooms are a joke small islands of trash throughout the bathroom... urine all over the toilet seats then for some reason all on the floor.... to make things worse theres constant toilet overflows EVERYDAY allowing huge puddles for members to practice leaps around the bathroom to maneuver them... no one on sight can locate the person thats supposed to be in charge of cleaning... only reason I give them two stars is because of the members and the nice lady upfront otherwise itd be 1
