You won’t find a better academy! Ronaldo is a phenomenal professor with a wealth of knowledge. Also, the facility is always super clean. It’s a truly top notch place to train with great training partners that always bring out the best in one another. My experience has been truly transformational, down 50 pounds and staying on the path. I wouldn’t want to train anywhere else.

Im 38 years old and never trained in martial arts but these guys made me feel comfortable and worked with me patiently as I learn ju-jitsu. The people here are very friendly but also serious about making sure that the students are equipped with skills to protect themselves and the grit to push through struggles, not only on the mat, but also in life. I lost about 20 pounds in the first 2 months of training and I put on a decent amount of muscle! Thanks for everything you guys do for us students!!!

THIS PLACE HAS TRULY CHANGED MY LIFE, AND KEEPS ORDER IN IT!I met Professor Ronaldo about two years ago while I was working at a different martial arts school, a few months prior to the academy officially opening. I always had the desire to train Brazilian JiuJitsu, and he offered my training in exchange for help with his kids classes. A lot has changed in my life since then for the better. I put on 15 pounds, made a lot of new friends who I now consider family, and the training helps me cope with the issues that I have. In addition, me and Professor Ronaldo have grown very close and I consider him my brother for life.If anyone is considering training Brazilian Jiujitsu, or looking to put their kids in martial arts, I 100% recommend this place. One of the best decisions of my life was to join Ronaldos Gym.

I have tried most of the jui jitsu schools in the area. Hands down the best you can find. Ronaldo is a great instructor whom does seem to care about your goals and there are a lot of good students to roll with.I only left because a car accident has left me without any spare funds to put toward jui jitsu at the moment. I’ll certainly be back though!Whether you’re looking to get into competition, learn how to practically defend yourself, or you’re looking for a place to take your kids. I can not recommend this place enough!!!!And again you really can not find another bjj academy in the area with the level of skill and talent that Ronaldo brings. other places charge more and give you less.

Professor Candido is hands down the most accomplished and best jiu-jitsu instructor in Michigan. No other club compares. The gym is always very clean, neat, and well maintained.

Classes in this gym are not only a killer workout but also an amazing way to destress. It’s amazing how many calories you can burn in each class! With a wife, two kids, and a full-time job, BJJ is my hobby. It doesn’t matter if you want to compete or just do this as a hobby, Professor Candido treats everyone equally - you can tell he truly cares. In addition, the gym space is top notch, it is very clean, lots of mat space, changing room, etc. The gym also offers several timeslots which helps me go to the gym regularly. Ive known Professor Ronaldo Candido for soon to be a year. I wanted to wait until I could provide an accurate review of his training and academy. Over these past months Ive observed Ronaldo consistently do exactly what he said he would do; open his own academy and teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of the highest quality to men, women and children. Ronaldo is successful by putting his students first. He truly cares for your well-being, happiness and enjoyment while training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I tend to get injured from my other hobbies and hes always knowledgeable and helps me adapt my training while I recover. He takes great care to keep his academy very clean, daily! I hope to have my young boys join his kids classes when they are old enough. Ive watched him train the children and he truly enjoys it. I can tell Ronaldo really wants kids lives to be better by teaching them confidence, strength, and most importantly - how to be a better person.

I am new to Michigan having been displaced by a recent natural catastrophe. So I decided to route test and get my bearings to Professor Candidos academy in Novi very early in the morning ( 0420 ). It turned out to be a breeze and I easily located the RCABJJ. Excellent location and easy to find. Since I had been in communication with Professor inquiring about training on several occasions over the last couple of weeks I decided to text him. I let him know that i easily found the school and that the commute was doable for me ( 1hr and 15 min ). I then started back, as I am sharing a car at the moment and it was needed back home. Then my phone rings and it was Professor Candido ( I knew he was an early riser ) and he is. Most men like him are. Anyway, he offered to come over and meet me and show me the school in 15 minutes. In 15 minutes he was there. The facility is excellent. It is strategically laid out to support training sessions and facilitate cleanliness. Very organized and excellent use of space. Mats, benches, hydration, washrooms for men and women, shower, and a changing/team room. Professor Candido and I spoke for quite awhile. He is a very personable and friendly guy. DEDICATED was the one word that entered my mind if I would be asked an opinion of him.It is not my place to comment on his extensive accomplishments in the BJJ community. They are easily found online. Better yet just stop in and meet him. Nuf said. To close, I intend to train there. Humbled to be accepted as a student.

Ive been training with professor Candido for a little while now and I really enjoy his style of teaching, he has a great world class background in competition training which is primarily why I chose to train with him. My brother and I have been training in Jiu Jitsu for around five years and weve traveled around the country to compete. So to meet someone who would travel around the world with his students is amazing. Hes also an amazing person to be around and to be taught by. I really recommend him to anyone who is interested in serious competition or just really getting into the art of Jiu Jitsu.

This is a wonderful place. Professor Ronaldo cares for his students and wants them to do well in Jiu-Jitsu and life. He treats our boys like family and talks to them like they were born to win. We couldn’t ask for a better teacher or Jiu-Jitsu academy.

Professor Candido is the best teacher in BJJ in Michigan, in my humble opinion. I have learned so much from this man. His experience in tournaments and MMA is the key. If you want to learn BJJ from the best instructor try him out. He is also a great human being as well.
