I was in Novi on business when my transmission gave up at 4pm no less. In a panic I found CARS and asked if they would take a look to see if there was a band-aid that would get me home. At the end of the day it would probably cost me more to repair than to junk the car. Dave never tried to sway my decision and helped with suggestions on rental cars to get home, waited past closing time for my Uber to pick me up and He let me leave the car there while I coordinated junking it and since I lived 3 states away. He even handed the salvage company the key and kept me up to date on when they showed upd how they planned to pay me.He may be the last honest mechanic shop left. My only regret is I live 6 hours away, lol.

I have been a repeat customer as issues continue to arise with my aging car. As a person that does not understand much about cars they do a great job of explaining things and laying out all of your options. The price is always fair and the turnaround has been quick. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else.

Dave is handsdown the best auto repair guy I know in the surrounding area. Not only has he saved me money on his thoroughness (I think thats spelled right) and attention to detail but, he also takes time to explain in great detail the problems,solutions and options to a guy that wasnt born a gearhead. Ive been coming here for a few years now for service and they always do a great job. I had my brakes and rotors done yesterday and it was pretty quick about an hour or less. The price is cheaper than going to the dealership and Ive always gotten my car back within the same day of me dropping it off. They are great guys and easy to talk to and wanting to help.

My car started overheating on the highway while I was far from home. I took it to the nearest repair shop, they could not fix it that day and were overpriced. Brought it to Dave, the owner of C.A.R.S, and they had me taken care of quickly so I could get back on the road and the price was more reasonable than others in the area. Fast, friendly, highly recommend!

I have a 1995 Camaro hot rod that I ONLY take to CARS to have work done. Dave is super knowledgeable about performance cars with engines being a specialty. I keep hearing horror stories about other so called performance shops in there area that Dave has had to fix issues they have caused. Save yourself aggravation, take your performance car to CARS to start.

I have been going to these guys for years. They have always treated me with respect and insured my cars were repaired correctly. They have never tried to unnecessarily up charge me and have always given me options to any repair. I will go out of my way to tow my cars to them rather than take the risk of trying a new local mechanic. I don’t care if I’m getting an oil change or if it sounds like my engines going to explode. I don’t trust anyone else with any of my cars. Several times I’ve had to take my cars to a dealership for warranty service. Then weeks later had to take them in to C.A.R.S. To correct simple things the dealership had forgotten to do. The last visit I had they had to do some serious diagnostics because the codes were basically useless. They did an amazing amount of trouble shooting, found the route issue and still managed to get the car back to me the next day. It’s running better then it did the day I bought it. I wish more repair centers were like you.

I have been coming here for so long and wont go anywhere else. They are friendly and will tell you like it is. They wont make up things to charge you with or overcharge you. They will look at your problem and fix it for a decent price. I trust them and you should try them out too.

Very Honest people who are considerate on their customers. Today I went to them to show my car as their was some inconsistent sound while driving and the mechanic their lifted the car, saw for any loose part and figured out it was just the resonator pipe which was making contact with another support bar. He suggested me with a very simple solution to bend the bar a little bit so that it won’t contact the pipe while driving. He did the bending and then said I am good to go in a span of few minutes for which he even didn’t charge me a penny. I would definitely go to them for all my future repairs and also would suggest my friends to visit them for any of their car repairs.

This happened a year and a half ago and has been bugging me. I had been taking my car to CARS Novi for a few years. Mostly for oil changes. My front end had problems and needed some bearings and other front end stuff like axle and that type of thing. I was quoted about $1500 and some change. It was a lot of money. I paid it. I drive a lot. A year later part of that repair broke down. It was over the mileage for the warranty. Still, after paying over $1500 to Dave, I felt they should repair it without cost. I called Dave and spoke with him. He was very nasty over the phone. After being a customer for years and giving him that kind of money, I told that Dave guy that it shouldnt have broken down within a year and that I paid a lot of money, that they needed to fix it free of charge. When I said he had to fix it, he got very angry and hung up on me. Very upsetting to be treated like that and not even discuss it after being a customer and giving them that kind of money. I went in to talk to Dave about it in person. I asked him why it would break down again within a year, he said some stupid stuff like The roads are bad. He also said, that every time I bring my car in for an oil change, he loses money. Maybe charge a little bit more for the oil changes Dave so you dont blame the customers.He charged me another $300 to $400 to fix the problem. He was giving me a discount which is why I didnt take it somewhere else but still that put me at about $1,900 with these guys for this in one year. I was very upset at how Dave was on the phone, very angry and hanging up on me.I took the car there for one other repair. After that I didnt feel good about taking my car to CARS Novi. I found another shop.Brian A.

Dave is great to deal with and provides intelligent information about the service and condition of my car so that I can make reasonable desisions about what should and needs to be done. They performed service on my daughters car, quickly with a fair and reasonable price.

Took my truck in and asked CARS to do some work on my Ford Expedition...Dave the owner recommended he take a look at things and get back to me before doing the work Id asked for. Good thing. Turns out that my engine issues were far less extensive than I had figured and for less expensive. CARS did the repairs they suggested and fixed my issues, and for much less than I was planning.Thanks Dave, and CARS.

Very knowledgeable staff! I was afraid I was going to need a new engine. Dave did a tuneup and the car is running great! Oh, I also found out they are certified in pre 1973 cars. Anyone with a classic car should check this place out.

Had a terrible experience with these clowns. A tow truck dropped my car to their shop by mistake instead of a couple doors down to classic collision. With no work order, no call, or prior auth given by me (the owner) they began to “work” on diagnosis by hooking up a trickle charger. By the time I caught wind of the mistake and contacted them to release the vehicle, they demanded $80 for their “diagnostics” fee. Again, in violation of Michigan state law that a prior authorization must be approved before anything over $50 takes place. Further contacts by myself resulted in rude, disrespectful, angry behavior demanding payment. Illegally. This essentially amounted to vehicle theft. After a final call to settle the matter, I was screamed at and given a 1 hour window to pay or the car would be impounded. This would be verbal assault added to their delightful mix of customer service. A quick call to the Novi police department got 2 officers out there, at which point the vehicle was immediately released to me without any payment required. Beware of these thieving, crooked clowns. They have done this before. I’ll be contacting the BBB soon. Either they don’t have the required pre-repair notice posted in a visible location (I.e. MCL 257.1332a(1)) OR they do and are in clear violation of this law. Again, beware of these dangerous people, preying on people that wouldn’t take such a sharp stand as I did.

I have been taking my vehicles for maintenance and repair to C.A.R.S. for many years. The owner, Dave, previously franchised through Tuffys but now owns the business C.A.R.S. He has many years of experience and has always been honest and fair with me about what needs to be fixed and the cost of the repairs. In my opinion, the quality of Daves work has been superior and he strives for excellent customer satisfaction.

Went there last year to fix my VW Golf A/C. And I just found they took away my hood insulation pad and didn’t install it back.

My wife and I have a drag race truck and it has been there several times. Almost nothing on it OEM. I install a Crown Vic front end assembly! Dave put it on the frame rack and adjusted it for racing! Custom applications no problem for them!!!

I have a resto-rodded 1951 Chevy pickup that I built, so nothing is standard on this vehicle. The vehicle needed a front end alignment and a diagnosis for a rear suspension lean. Dave had me put it on the alignment rack and his knowledge on suspension geometry was able to diagnosis that the there is a faulty rear leaf spring. All the work was done within quoted time and at a reasonable rate. I’ll be looking to CARS for future auto needs. Thanks Dave and Mike.

Discount tire reccomended this shop to check on my tire alignment. After an hour or so of looking at my car, they quoted $1500 of repairs on the alignment alone. I blew them off, took my car to a different mechanic, who assured me over half of their suggested repairs were fabricated. My total at the new mechanic was under $500, and two years later none of the repairs Cars of Novi additionally suggested have come to surface. I was pretty young looking when i went in there, my guess is they try to get extra money off the high school kids in Novi.I took an extra look and confirmed that this is in fact the same store I visited. This is not a fabricated review. Im not sure why someone would leave a fake review for a place they have never been to, but the first step of grief is denial.

Hands down the BEST mech shop I have brought my car to. I got 4 new tires and suspenion all the way around my Chevy HHR... my car is driving like its brand new. They were able to get me in and out quickly and at a VERY reasonable price. They also have a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty which is double the dealerships (aka stealerships). Dave, who I assume is the owner, is a fellow Veteran and took the time to show me rebates that the parts manufacturers were offering for my particular repairs.
