I brought my Mazda CX-5 in for an oil change and new tires. I came home with 1)a service light on, that they should have reset 2) an oil leak from them failing to put a cap back on properly 3) a rim leak on one of the tires.It cost over $100 to fix their mistakes.DONT GO HERE.

Great repair shop! We have been utilizing Dan’s auto for years...they are always professional and most importantly, very honest and helpful. So many places try to get you to buy a bunch of extra services or parts...dan’s auto never does that. As someone who doesn’t have expertise in vehicles, I really appreciate knowing that I can always trust the folks at this shop to not only be truthful but also provide highest quality repairs. Since having a simple valve cover gasket and thermostat housing changing Ive found no less than four bolts missing, and the car is right back to leaking coolant from said housing because of it. Wasting several days of time100% will never return or let them touch my car again

BAIT AND SWITCHThis place is a scam. I was initially quoted 2200$ for repairs that were supposed to be done the next business day. 4 days later, they say they misdiagnosed and it was a different part causing issues and charged me $2900 total. Classic bait and switch. When I finally received my vehicle back, I had to take it back in because they broke my key fobs. Lastly, they said it was 2900 out the door and that would repair everything. Now my check engine light is on and they told me I need to bring it back so they can squeeze me for more! In times like this, don’t turn to Dans Auto Repair in Novi.

I called Dans Auto to get a valve body swapped on my 2012 Ram 1500 and they referred me to Prompt transmission who were reasonable and fast. In addition I had them replace a half shaft and oil pan and they did great work and were timely. Would certainly recommend them.

I was out of town on a business trip and I had hit a deer which damage to my car. I wasn’t sure how much or how bad the damage was, I went to another mechanic shops and they would not look at my car but Dan’s did! Super professional, very quick, and helped me out in a pinch. No nonsense, get in and get out quick kind of place. They great for oil changes too. Get your brand of oil and filter, schedule an appointment pay 20$ and youll be in and out in under 20 mins.

Avoid this place at all costs. I was told my belt tensioner needed to be replaced and was the reason my serpentine belt broke. These guys wanted to charge me a total of 410$ (including looking at my car at first) to replace my belt and install a new tensioner.I took it home, examined it myself and found the tensioner in great shape, the belt wore out over time and broke.30$ and some elbow grease saved me hundreds on unnecessary “parts and labor”.AVOID AT ALL COST.

Great and friendly service. Came here on a recommendation and I was hit hard on an estimate from the dealership. They did just as good of a job if not better for less than half the cost. Now I dont go anywhere else.

New to the area and was looking to get a simple fix done, Dans is definitely going to be my go-to shop from now on. Technician was extremely helpful and friendly, price was very reasonable. Walked in without an appointment and still was finished quickly, even when the fix turned out to be more involved than expected. A+ service.

Broke down while on the road, and limped into Dans. They gave me a diagnosis at a reasonable cost, and then were very helpful while I sold my car from their lot. Id come back here for sure if I lived in the area.

This is the first review I have ever written on any business. Usually my experience is not good nor bad enough to justify the time. Anyway I had a grinding noise on my 2002 jeep as I accelerate but not when I used the brakes. I Google searched it and all info coming back was that I needed new brakes. You know what that means... Oh your rotors need repair etc. $800 later it is fixed. Well I looked at the reviews for Dans and saw they were all good. Never even knew these guys existed. So brought it over there, and described the problem to Mike Maguire the service manager. Mike could not look at it today and said I could bring back later. I asked him if I would cause any damage if I drove it. He said let me take a look and I can tell you. So he goes out into the lot, gets on his back in some muddy grass and finds that a bit of rusty metal may have bent in between the rotor and pad. Got out a screw driver popped it out and said lets take a drive. PROBLEM FIXED-- NO CHARGE!!!! I was shocked, you never get this from a repair shop. I will definitely go back and have plans too already. Mike thanks a ton for the honesty. The way to run a business!!!!

I have been taking all of my Vehicle to Dans for years. Never have I received such reliable services. They are reasonable with their prices. They are never pushy about what needs to be fixed on your car but they take the time to let you know what is needed, so that your car is up and running in great condition.

You definitely want to use Dans!!!I cannot tell you how wonderful our experience was this past week, May 1, 2014. I am from Kentucky, here in Novi for medical treatment for both myself and oldest daughter for 6 weeks. Prior to coming, my husband had my rack and pinion replaced. Turns out the parts were defective, so Dans got them replaced AND are filing the claim to replace the parts!!! I was only with out my car (had 2) for 2 days!! My husband, at home, is so very grateful that his family was taken care of so wonderfully AND not taken advantage!!Yeah to Dans and all their staff!!

Too pricey

Dans was too booked to get my car up on a lift, but even though it was POURING RAIN he took time to come look at my car in the parking lot. After explaining the issue, he was like, That is an easy fix, ran inside and got a wrench and some cleaner, and BAM! Fixed my car on the spot!I will be coming back here for all of my cars from here on...

Honest, reliable, quick, friendly, knowledgeable and very very fair. We needed a wheel bearing and hub replaced and he said we could supply our own parts. We couldnt find a hub assembly only the wheel bearing. So he first tried to fix it with just the hub, but couldnt. We thought, great, thatll be another $150+, but he had an extra one (brand new) in the shop and gave it to us for $30! Anything you would want in an auto repair guy. We went to him on a recommendation and so glad we did! Thank you!

We had some Wheel Balancing and other work done that cost around $800, The work was so shoddy that a tire came off while going on the freeway (At night when it was raining, we had to wait till 1 AM to get a tow and police report)After two weeks of negotiation, they fixed the damage to car and replaced wheels without charge ( no refund for prior work that actually caused the damage)Oh, and for my other car they charged $1000 for steering fluid hose and pump replacement. The leak came back in 4 months.we were lucky to escape without injury or death. Avoid this place.!!!

Technician forgot to plug back the sensor 1 from air intake and them tried to sell me the service for fixing that. I ran the diagnosis (I have a blue driver) and the P0103 code appeared. I went back and when we opened the hood, the sensor was disconnected, after reconnecting, then trouble code could be cleaned.

The people in front take their time to explain all the options and no pressure on me to make a decision. Ive had bearings, brakes, tie rods, mufflers done across 3 of my cars the last few years.
