Left for work this morning only to find a down to the rim flat tire on my car! Panicked until a friend advised me to call East Main Automotive. I am from out of state and went to East Main to get some new tires mounted and balanced. They were very polite and easy to work with.They allowed me to ship tires to them from an online reseller. I then swung by without an appointment and they mounted them for me.They also gave me a complimentary car wash. Just to be transparent, its not a spotless hand wash. I still had some salt and dirt from the rough winter; but a free car wash is a free car wash. Much appreciated.They have a nice waiting room with couches and free coffee.I would definitely recommend it based on my experience.

I used East Main for years with 2 cars; the 1993 Ford Crown Victoria they did a great job with at a fair price. However, my latest car, a used 2008 Ford Escape which I had recently purchased, was brought in for a checkup and a suspected transmission issue in June. I asked if there was any maintenance I could do to keep my vehicle operating smoothly. After my checkup, they told me it was fine and didnt have any transmission issues; they told me it wasnt shifting quickly because, It wasnt a rocketship. Two months later, in August, I started having Power Train Throttle Control lights come on, took it into a different, recommended mechanic and found out my transmission had multiple pieces of metal in it and I needed a new transmission. The fluid had never been changed after 65,000 miles. I assumed that when I brought my vehicle in with a transmission complaint, the least East Main Auto would do was check the fluid. Appearantly, they did not, Im not sure what they did to the car but they didnt even do a thorough checkup. When my new mechanic did a checkup, he found old, leaking hoses, spark plugs that needed changing and saw my car didnt even have a cabin filter. I trusted East Main to care about what was under the hood of my car and I do not believe they even looked at it when they gave it back to me. I would not use East Main Auto again, I do not feel they are a mechanic shop that thoroughly cares about the safety and longevity of their customers vehicles.

What took me so long to write a stellar review for East Main Auto??!! I have taken our vehicles to Ken, Rick and all the talented mechanics for over 20 years! Special shout-out to Wayne who always does his best to accommodate my schedule and everyone elses schedules. I know they have kept my vehicles running longer than if I would have taken them anywhere else. For example, I am driving a 2003 Hyundai Elantra with almost 170,000 miles. Just had it serviced, and I think it has a couple more good years in it. Most importantly, these guys have been honest with me. When my husbands Chevy Blazer was done - they called it -without letting us sink more money into it. Yes, i would give them more stars if I could!!

[STRENGTHS]- been going for about 3 yrs now. Wayne and his team have worked on various replacements for my car in a professional and efficient manner: headlight bulb, oil changes/pan, suspension, brakes.- easy to reach by phone. they communicate promptly with updates and findings.- have been reasonable and flexible with me for pricing on costlier jobs knowing that Im a student.- depending on their schedule and staffing, they usually stick to their policy of free car wash and local shuttle rides upon request while your car is being serviced.[WEAKNESSES]- my one negative experience: had an oil change done at East Main just prior to my state inspection at WCD Garage, where I got failed due to a loose lower ctrl arm that was missed (or at least I wasnt notified about) at East Main. that said, I understand that state inspectors have to keep a lower threshold for when some laxity is considered unsafe.- wish they did alignments, then theyd be my default one-stop shop mechanics.[SUMMARY]I still trust Wayne and his team to be honest in keeping my vehicles safety and mechanical integrity as their top priority. Thanks for your hard work, guys!
