Being an Architect, I am aware of the often difficult relationship and tensions that can arise during a construction project. So I was pleased to discover I had hired a construction company and their excellent Project Manager, Curtis Bingham, who communicated well, listened, and worked with me to accomplish a difficult, complete renovation of the English Basement apartment of a 1907 Bungalow house I own in Salt Lake City.That the job was successful and a pleasurable experience is even more remarkable because I live in Virginia, and I was not able to come across country to inspect the progress of the work during the pandemic. As of this review, I have never met Curtis in person, his excellent crew, or any of the talented subcontractors who provided their skills.The age of the house required completely redoing the plumbing & electrical service and bringing it to code, upgrading two bathrooms, replacing the interior and exterior doors, repairing the interior and exterior walls, painting the walls and ceilings, providing new lighting fixtures, new kitchen cabinets and cupboards, flooring, and closets. In a word, about everything.The reason this job went so well? Trust. Curtis excellent communication skills, work ethic, honesty, and a willingness to be my partner made the difference. When I needed to talk to him, he responded quickly. When he needed me to make a decision, I quickly got back to him. The proof of working together is in the result: all those who have actually seen the finished apartment say it has been transformed from a hag to a runway beauty.If only all construction work could be this much fun! I couldnt be more pleased.

Fantastic carpet cleaners! They got out tough stains! They used protective equipment so that they didnt damage our furniture and walls.We are very pleased with their carpet cleaning service. Thank you!

Servepro is awesome. However, the Bountiful/NSL office is a NIGHTMARE!!! Their service was responsive and quick. However, the billing and follow up has been a mess. They came and provided service and were supposed to come back to provide a new fan because it stopped running. On the first visit they gave us a carbon copy piece of paper with an ESTIMATE on it. The technician even said someone will get back to you about your final total for the service. We were in the middle of a remodel and didnt give it another thought, but never received anything in the mail or any form of communication until months later we get a call from a collection agency. Then call the office to find out they have a new billing manager who couldnt have been more defensive and rude about the whole thing. Hoping no one else has to deal with this. Unreal!!!

Josh and his team are awesome! They have done work for my neighbors and my wife’s company. I cross my fingers I won’t have to hire them, but would not hesitate if/when the time comes. I know they also can do a quick look and give suggestions if you want to try and manage it yourself. They can handle large and small projects. For my business, I have an emergency folder that we keep handy that was provided by Servpro with key contact and emergency location info. Thanks!

We had a long project to do be done following a flood in our basement and after interviewing several contractors we chose to go with SERVPRO and we are so glad we did! All the employees we interacted with were professional and helpful but Doug especially deserves so much credit for our good experience. He went above and beyond. He was quiet and professional, and I felt so comfortable having him in our home for the weeks the project required. Our son looked forward to his visits each day and he was always friendly and kind. The previous owner of our home was a very talented craftsman and we were concerned that we would really be able to get the same quality to match the other moldings and paint in the home. Doug was meticulous and made sure things were absolutely perfect before he finished the job. We would hire Servpro and Doug again in a heartbeat for anything we needed done! Thank you for taking such good care of us!!

To be determined, the work is not completed yet. The insurance i think is moving slower than planned. I do have a complaint about a lady that answers their phone. With a strong accent. She tends to be quite rude and never has any answers or if she does the correct answer.

Servpro was wonderful!Alex was not only totally professional, but so helpful on every level that I could not have survived the project without him. His knowledge about the problems, issue and process were invaluable and he was always willing to spend his time (mostly his personal time) to answer questions or discuss the job. I was not in the area during the work and the tenants in the house were more than unreasonable and made trouble during every step of the process. Alex was patient and stepped it up to make sure the job was completed, completed correctly and fully documented.Hopefully I never have another issue as crazy as this one, but if I do, I only want Alex!Overall, I feel there needs to be more of a “standard” for acceptable mold levels. Since levels and climates change constantly, it is very difficult to determine what’s “normal”. I dislike how the word “mold” is like a “blank check” and all of the responsibility and liability is on the owner. It would be nice if there were more standards to avoid such huge remediation costs.Once again, Alex was level-headed and did the job by facts and science instead of by fear and common perceptions. Even his follow-up after the work was finished was wonderful. I know that he truly cares about the whole situation and I appreciate that.Thanks so much!

I originally wrote a critical review concerning ServPros unprofessionalism and unresponsiveness. Since my posting, I received from the owner of ServPro of Bountiful, Josh Grimstead, information that shows he actually is responsive and was manipulated by our AAA Insurance Company as well as us. Because of his response and the information he provided, I am reversing my original one star post to a five star post. I am, however, warning those who may be AAA Insurance customers, they may be at risk for underhanded denials when filing claims with them.We had a drain leak within our upstairs bathroom wall, which ran down the drain pipe to the bathroom/laundry room wall downstairs. Because it was hidden within the walls and downstairs ceiling, we did not notice the leak until we felt wet carpet outside the downstairs entry into the bathroom and laundry room.Immediately upon discovery, we contacted our AAA Insurance Company and a plumber to fix the problem. As the walls were opened up, extensive mold and fungus were discovered. Our insurance policy included mold/fungus coverage as long as it is hidden within the walls and ceilings.We contacted ServPro of Bountiful to remediate the mold/fungus. ServPros Production Manager came to evaluate our damage. He took various readings and pictures. Because of COVID, the AAA Insurance Companys representative stated they wanted ServPro to give them a virtual picture tour of our claim, which they did. Unfortunately for us, ServPros Production Manager gave an opinion to the insurance field specialist while giving the tour, that a visible water mark on the ceiling just above the wet carpet had probably been there for several weeks. The opinion he gave to our insurance, was used as justification to deny our $10,000 coverage for mold/fungus remediation and restoration. AAA Insurance decided they were going by the opinion given by ServPros Production Manager who stated the water mark supposedly was visible and not hidden for more than the seven week deadline for policy coverage.It was later discovered by two of ServPros remediation employees when they removed the ceiling that had the water mark, that there was absolutely no mold or fungus in that area requiring remediation. This was a fact...not an opinion. If this had actually been going on in that one visible area for more than several weeks, there undoubtedly would have been mold/fungus.When AAA Insurance was contacted with this additional fact-based information, they refused to reverse their original decision which they had based on an opinion given during the virtual picture tour to deny our claim. They stated that they felt speaking with ServPro about the facts rather than the opinion they used for denial wouldnt change anything.ServPro does need to be vigilant when providing insurance companies with virtual picture tours that they dont offer any opinions before actual facts can be determined. Not all insurance companies are ethical. Some insurance companies or some of the personnel who work for them may be ‘fishing’ for any excuse they can find to get out of covering legitimate claims their customers make. All of us pay our insurance premiums for years thinking that if our insurance actually becomes needed, we will be covered. In our particular case, when facts should have overruled the original opinion given, the AAA Insurance chose to ignore facts. This cost us $10,000 in coverage which should have been paid according to the mold/fungus provisions in our policy.

Lots of positive reviews on SERVPRO, and they actually did good work on the physical cleaning up our hot water tank leak, BUT...the two stars Im giving them is for lack of communication and over pricing.When they showed up at our house, their tech assured my wife it was a minor amount of damage, and gave her a verbal quote of a couple hundred dollars. I was home when they came back to get the equipment and I was also told it was minimal. No written estimate of cost was ever provided (Ill never let that happen again), and no updates were ever given over the clean up process.When the bill came, it was just shy of a thousand dollars. Not my definition of minimal at all. When I called the supervisor listed, Jeff, to discuss the bill, he did admit to the cost of waste disposal being probably high and told me he would talk to the owners about the rest of the bill. Weeks went by and I heard nothing. Finally I got the same bill emailed to me again. This time I returned the email and asked to discuss again with Jeff to find out why the cost was the same. Another few days and no communication, so I emailed again. This time I got a reply saying it had been reviewed and they were knocking a whole $50 off the price. No calls from Jeff, no discussion on the overpricing. I had to ask for the drying reports and factual data, and even that took multiple emails.They claim the work done was priced at industry standard. Maybe so, but they also admitted the waste fee was too high...so take that for what it is worth. Everyone was polite and the floor got dried, but the cost was no where near what they verbally said it would be, and it took hours of my time to get this researched and resolved, and ultimately I am very unsatisfied. Next time Ill be using disaster drs.TLDR: GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE!

I have had servpro doing work for me for years over and over with every problem I have in my home and every time I am impressed with the caliber of individuals and the proffessionalism they have. Great Company!

Super fast to come out and do an initial assessment. Had some confusion about the procedure and plan during the drying process, but Tonia got us all sorted out and on the same page. She is a fantastic advocate. They worked well with our insurance company.

I had a long project to be done on both levels of my home following a flood. Having worked with Servpro before, I called them for help. They came so quickly with a large team and began the water damage cleanup. They were all so kind and helpful. After everything was torn out and dried, a new crew came to do the repairs and put things back together. The person I worked with the most was Doug, and I cant say enough about how great he was to work with. He went over and above to make my home damage like it never happened! I cant thank Servpro enough for everything they did. You should have Servpro on speed dial.

I had an unexpected sewer blockage. ServPro came the next evening and stayed until well beyond midnight. The main guy who I want to give a shout out to is Mikey. Initially quick to come out and tear everything down. Close to 9 weeks later and had to find another company to finish their job. Never returned my insurance companys calls and when I called, the manager admitted that hed just never gotten around to it. Really frustrating.

We had a minor mold issue, so I called to have them come out to take a look. We ended up needing some work done. They were able to quickly get us scheduled, which was appreciated. On the days when techs would be coming out, they gave precise windows of arrival, and were quick to call or text if any delays were anticipated. The communication was outstanding. They were able to resolve the issue, and went above and beyond to help. I would recommend ServPro 100%!

I was amazed by the immediate response we received by this company. We had to shut down our office without notice for a deep cleaning due to Covid. Alex Colon was the most professional, real person I have met in a very long time when needing a service on such short notice. He was honest and not aggressive to get a sale. Coty and Brendyn came out to evaluate water damage from our sink not being properly attached after getting new countertops... they were so wonderful! They were very throughout in looking over everything, made sure our house was left in a clean state and even had the fan/humidifier all set up. I was really impressed with their attitude and the level of care and concern that they had. This companies customer service is remarkable! Kurtis Bingham is our project manager, Doug (who we spent the majority of our time with) and Mikey Madeiros (carpet technician) were a few of the technicians who helped with our project. They are examples of five-star excellent service by the way they paid attention to the smallest of details. Each time an employee came into our home they had a giant smile and took time to connect and show they cared. Every question was answered quickly. Multiple times I noticed them going above and beyond in their area of expertise. We had walls removed, pipes replaced, sheet rock replaced, walls painted and carpets cleaned and each person showed an A+ attitude. Thank you SERVPRO team, your skill level is best in class. They are our go-to company!

Josh has personally helped with more than one situation. Luckily I’ve never had a serious emergency, but I have had them clean my vents and furnace. Very professional and top of the line equipment in use. Very friendly employees. You won’t regret using them for maintenance or in an emergency situation.

Mikey Medeiros & Cecil Vanausdal are doing a wonderful job for us in taking care of a difficult water problem. They have presented damages and resolution options very clearly. My sewer backed up into my bathroom. Tom Szafran came out and inspected it. He was so professional and respectful, and he explained everything to me. He even looked under my mobile home. He recommended that Servpro come in and disinfect my bathroom. That decision will be made by my park manager. Thank you to ServPro and Alex who arrived at our home quickly after our new puppy found some black food dye and ran around the living room with the punctured bottle. It was all over the floor and couch. Alex removed all of the stains and mentioned that there could be some additional wicking after he left. It never came back and we are so grateful to not have to replace the furniture and the carpet.

He was very professional, courteous and worked diligently to remove all the stains. I told him a miracle was not expected, but he delivered one nonetheless.

Serv pro even does vent cleaning and was able to clean all the venting in the apartment. We conducted an air quality test after his work was complete and it came back with shining results! As a large commercial contractor -- we have VERY high standards for what we consider great work, but SERVPRO has definitely exceeded our expectations! One of our tenants offices was flooded mid-morning and with one 5 minute phone call, these folks had the water cleaned up and things drying out before I got back from lunch! No hassles, no surprises, and no trying to take advantage of the situation ... they just did what they said they would do & they did it faster than I ever would have thought they could. Job well done SERVEPRO.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Not only did they take 3 months to get the job done, but they completely screwed us on the bid. We paid $2K and didnt even get what we expected. We are extremely disappointed. We went for 3 months without a bathroom because of the disorganization and miscommunication between mitigation and restoration. I will never go this route again. When they finally DID get the part of the work done, we found out they didnt include the shower doors in our bid - which were supposed to be included. Luckily we found a great person to install the doors and we did this on our own. We wont use Servpro in the future. Wasted all our money and time.

My experience started a bit rough as there was some confusion and miscommunication between us, our insurance, and Servpro on our flood event being covered or not. We learned a lot from the experience as we dont have flood insurance, but when I worked with Servpros technicians, office staff, and management staff they took their service to the next level and even after vetting any of those miscommunications they really mitigated any issues by responding and acting so quickly. They followed through and documented everything very well. In my opinion theres no better-equipped company to meet your needs!

A basement water leak resulted in moldy carpet, baseboards and walls. Our insurance company recommended ServPro of Bountiful. We have been very pleased with their work. Josh and his crew found the source of the leak, removed the damaged materials and replaced them with cheerful efficiency, matching the quality of the existing interior. We experienced a foundation leak. Servpro came in and removed water damaged sheet rock, carpet and padding. They then made the repairs where there was no sign of any damage. There entire team was professional and courteous. They arrived as scheduled and took great pride in their work.

Great! My 80 year old aunt Bonnie had a sink overflow. Dee and Jim were on time, efficient and very courteous. We thought there might be some water damage to the cabinet and wall, but they did a thorough check and found it to be ok. They could have said there was, and charged us for it, and we wouldnt have known the difference. Instead, there was just some wet carpet. What could have been very expensive, just ended up being a $95.00 carpet cleaning. My aunt couldnt have been more happy, especially since her neighbors all told her she was going to be taken advantage of.

Great response time. Rory and Greg came by to see a leak/water coming on our bsmt. Have their honest opinion that this job would only need the re local of some insulation, platic, and fans to dry the water. Then they recommended for me to have a plumber come seal off the hole around the main water line. We are grateful for their honest and I will call on them & refer others to them. Thanks again.

SERVPRO of Bountiful has come to my rescue twice during the past year, first due to a basement flooding problem caused by a plumbing failure, and second with basement flooding in another area caused by storm and ice damage to my house. In both cases, they were very responsive, easy to deal with, and completed the repairs with excellent quality. They are my go to guys when I have an emergency. These folks came out today (Christmas Eve) to respond to severe water damage that occurred this morning. They were highly respectful and very upfront about all they did and how the process will go with our homeowners insurance. They were careful and thorough.

Oh man,,,, came home to a hallway full of soap for the washer on the carpet. Like 1.5 gals. Called a couple people down the line in a panic and nobody picked up. The last number I called was Servpro. They were here when they said they would be (30 mins) and I thought the price would be my super high once Rory came out and started his work. (Ive been burned before by other crap carpet cleaners).RORY went to work cleaning up the huge mess and was here for a good amount of time making sure it was good.Thank you so much! Good enough for me to leave s good tip! Awesome job Rory. (Ive never tipped a carpet cleaner! ).

They were fast and friendly.They was at our house 2 weeks they tried to help us as much as possible with our mess.

This place is an absolute joke. Came in and tore my kitchen up and didnt come back for two weeks leaving us without a working kitchen. Had to call everyday to put myself on their schedule. Every contractor Had to come back and fix their work. I had to recaulk the Great Joshs job and replace the faucet he said was was no good even though it was 3 months old. Worked fine before he got here. Billed me and now are sueing me for repairs I told them not to do before contacting my insurance company. Was told dont worry they are covered. Took two weeks of vacation off so I could be here for them. They came 3 days of the two weeks. Took them over a month and a half.......Sorry have to edit.TOOK THEM MORE THAN THREE MONTHS.we had to move our Thanksgiving dinner to someone elses house. Pretty sad it was a 2 day job at most. Would come for about 2 hours a day.

Stay away from this company. Services are overpriced and underperformed. They expect to be paid even if the work is not adequately performed. They make promises and dont keep them. Try to sell you world. Ill be dealing with them in court it seems. 😔 Not how to treat customers.

Its not about the money with this company. The owner, Josh Grimstead, is always giving his time free of charge to help homeowners identify, understand, and find ways to correct problems. This philosophy of helping others resonates throughout the company.

These guys were amazing! They explained everything step by step and made sure we were okay and were super nice and helpful.

Love Servpro. They were able to return my kitchen to normal in less than a couple of weeks after my dishwasher failed and damaged my cabinets and floor. Johnny was knowledgeable of all the materials in my home and was able to save my floor using his Servpro’s specialty equipment. I doubt that there is anything that Johnny can’t dry with the equipment that he has at his disposal. Thank you Servpro.

We had a leaking shower in our rental property. We were out of town when I got the call from our tenents, servpro took hold of making sure all the right steps were taken to prevent further damage. I was beyond grateful for the service, help and mold cleanup. Highly recommended!

This is our second time having Rory at Servpro clean our carpet which are pretty much white with a speck in them and we couldt be more pleased. He spent time checking and rechecking the trouble spots and made sure they were taken care of. I would recommend them especially him to my friends and neighbors.

Unfortunately I have had to use Servpro twice in the last few months. But FORTUNATELY I used Servpro! We first had a water pipe break in our upper stairs bathroom while we had landscape work to do in the yard that day. We woke up to go do the yard work and noticed we had a new water fall coming from our ceiling.. We had to just shut off the water and start doing the yard work, while doing we noticed a Servpro truck across the street working on another home. I ended up just going to getting the guy. He was very friendly and professional came right over and inspected it just got right to work with no complaining to stop any further damage! Their attention to detail was amazing, very careful of our property and explained every step of the process which was very awesome! After running their equipment and drying out what they had to. It was to small of leak so we didnt claim it. And they knew this and i felt like were VERY generous on what they charged us i was almost shocked they charged us very little to do AMAZING work!So naturally when we found yet another new water feature in our house one morning in our kitchen, we didnt even hesitate who to call! Yet again they were to our house with in an hour taking care of the problem! Again super professional and quick and friendly! Claiming this one as it had done A LOT more damage Josh the owner came out to inspect for the insurance company and he was VERY thorough and super friendly! I dont trust many people but i trust these guys so much we could just leave and let them do their work in our house while we were gone! I could go on about how great everyone in this company is. Just do yourself a favor and if for any unfortunate reason you have to use them, DO! I wouldnt trust anyone else!

Came out on an emergency call and pump water out of our basement. That part was good. When Tom came over the next day, he gave us an estimate of the charges, when I received the statement the prices were double of what he said the day before. My parents have used ServePro (not this office) before and they were wonderful. This office is unethical in their charges and not forthcoming. Beware!!!

ServPro was phenominal. We had a toilet leak all night and woke up to water cascading through all our electrical outlets on the main level. ServPro was at our house within 1 hour from making the call. We trusted them with mitigation and the remodel. The ceiling, tile in upstairs bathroom, and all the hardwood on the main level were ruined.ServPro worked with me and did an excellent job of communicating with me to get my home repair on a timely manner. I honestly felt like Dee (with mitigation), Curtis and Doug (with restoration) moved mountains to get my house repaired.I highly recommend them! I promise you I have never, ever, felt so taken care of from any other company than I felt with ServPro of bountiful/layton.

TOTAL DISRESPECT OF HOMEOWNERS TIME, HOME and FAMILY LIVING UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES !WILL NEVER USE or RECOMMEND AGAIN ... MEETING WITH UTAH MANAGER WILL GET YOU A PAT ON THE BACK ! and REVIEW WILL NOT POST WITHOUT PUTTING IN A RATING OF AT LEAST ONE STAR ! OTHERWISE THEY WOULD GET A NEGATIVE -*

We experienced a house fire in March 2014. After meeting with a few clean up type companies we decided to use Josh and his team. During our first meeting he was very responsive to any of my concerns regarding the cleaning of my house. One point he made during our initial meeting was the level of care they take to secure the house to protect from both weather and potential loiters. After the first day of work was completed by his team, I arrived to my house to discover the front door unlocked and the sliding door left opened. I wouldnt considered this as huge deal, but based on his sales pitch of securing the house, I was disappointed things were left unlocked and open.Throughout the rebuild project of my house communication gaps continued. Carpets were cleaned that were designated to be replaced form the beginning of the project. We are also invoiced for carpets that were cleaned even though his staff had literally removed the carpet the week before the invoiced said it was cleaned. I am still not sure how you clean carpet that are no longer is in the house.ServPro used a third party textile cleaning company which has been the only positive. Although at first we had some frustrations that we initially placed on the textile company with missing items. We later learned that the textile company provided a full inventory list to ServPro of items that could not be cleaned. ServPro never provided us with the list, thus we thought the missing items were lost in the cleaning process.6 months after the fire we were finally able to return to our house. After reviewing the invoice with Josh and the areas that were certified as cleaned by his company, I am surprised and question what was actually cleaned and what was not cleaned. We obviously had construction dust in the house with areas that were rebuilt, but in areas that were not impacted and still cleaned for any smoke residue it questionable on what was or was not cleaned. My family and I spent countless hours washing walls, cleaning baseboards. For example went to clean the laundry room there was still a considerable amount of dryer lint behind our dryer. We were invoiced for disconnecting both the washer and dryer to clean behind them, so I was surprised to see any lint. I contacted Josh with the concerns, and his response was literally - are you sure this was not from using the dryer over the past six months? Yes, I am sure as we have been in a hotel for six months and not at our house.I am left with honestly questioning what has been cleaned in my house by ServPro and the level to which it was cleaned. From walls, to ceilings, to our air ducts I have little confidence the work that was invoiced and paid for was actually completed.Hopefully you never need to use a clean up type company in your house, but if you do, I would look somewhere else besides ServPro Bountiful. I do know each location is a franchise, so perhaps this location is just poorly managed and run.

Servpro of Bountiful/Kaysville/Layton is an outstanding company to work with!! Recently, one of our neighbors called me one night asking if I knew a good plumber because they had their sewer leaking in their basement. To make matters worse, one of the family members had just been in a horrible accident and was in the hospital (and would be for weeks).That night, we went over to see how bad it was, and it was a lot more work than I thought it would be. It ruined the floor inside, carpet, sheetrock, etc. In addition, the leak came from a break in the pipe under 3 of dirt outside the house, and was coming back in the basement! The next day they had called a plumber to look at it and give a bid, Servpro was also called for a bid. When we compared the two bids, the plumber would only fix the pipe outside, and it was $1000s, while Servpro not only would fix the pipe, they completely ripped out all the flooring, bad sheet rock, cleaned and sanitized, disposed of all the bad material, replace sheetrock, etc.... their bill came in only slightly more than the plumbers bid just to fix the pipe outside, and they took care of inside AND outside!They are experts in what they do, they understand how hard a disaster is on a family and will work quickly to get things back up and better than they were before! They were quick, they handled working with plumbers, sheet rockers, cleaning crew, etc. I would feel confident in recommending them to anyone!

I highly recommend Servpro of Bountiful/Kaysville/Layton owned by Josh Grimstead. I referred him and ServPro to my next door neighbor Lori Jensen who had a washing machine hose break in her 3rd floor of her home. She ran over to my house and asked for my help and I immediately called Josh and he was there literally in five minutes helping me get the water turned off and putting his team to work with the clean up. He and his team restored her home and did it with care, consideration, and integrity. He also coordinated the billing through her insurance company American Family.Two weeks ago, we had a smoke damage in our own home. We left our home to do a service project and while gone, we left a pot of boiling potatoes. Our kids were supposed to turn off the stove but forgot to and we came home nearly two hours later to a home filled with smoke and stink. I called Josh and asked him what to do. He not only helped me but provided me with the cleaning solution and process to begin the clean-up process.Josh is AWESOME to work with and his team. Many of my friends also highly recommend Josh and his team. I am part of the BNI Super Connectors in Bountiful and many of my peers in that chapter use and recommend Josh. Thanks Josh and your team for the prompt, friendly, compassionate service you provide.
