Spent our morning with Wyatt doing the Salt Marsh Paddleboarding Tour. Definitely worth it, great instructor, teacher, and guide. Would definitely come back for an island tour! My first private surf lesson was with Wyatt back in 2015. I remember being totally nervous but he calmed my nerves with leading a light stretch, his love of the ocean and confident knowledge of the sport. After that first lesson, I was sold. Although I didn’t pick up a surf board again for a while, in 2018 I had a surf lesson with Brandon and it went amazing too. Then another lesson a couple of weeks ago. Being that I want to continue to grow (step by step) literally lol I was excited to have another lesson just this past Sunday 9/19, led by David!! He was one of the best. He worked with me as each wipe out knocked me down, until I made enough progress. I can say without a doubt these guys are the best in the area, the best in the biz. They not only care about the sport, they care about the environment (check out their eco-kayak/paddle tour (I know I will) & they care about YOU. My family and I knew we wanted to go on a kayaking trip while in Myrtle Beach since we love kayaking back home in Ohio. I’m extremely happy that we chose KokoPelli! CJ and Wyatt were great instructors/guides. It was a pleasant little paddle to the island and CJ was very laid back and informative when we asked questions about the surrounding environment/wildlife! My shy, cautious 8 yoa daughter started taking lessons with Kokopelli in June and has loved everything about it! The private lessons with Jake got her standing, confident and comfortable. We just LOVED everything about this camp! Every single one of the instructors were awesome and attentive to all of the students. Our daughter (age 7) rocked it from day one....she was standing up on the third or fourth try! Our son (age 5) was a little scared the first day and mostly just rode the waves in on his belly. But, Brandon wasn’t going to let him be the only one who didn’t stand up the first day...he took our son out with him, caught a wave, stood up, then stood our son up with him for the last ride of the day. Luke’s face riding that wave was priceless...he went back on day two with newfound confidence and was standing up the whole rest of the camp! Our kids had a BLAST and we are hoping to get them into private lessons with Kokopelli this summer if time allows!

We were in Myrtle Beach for the Cal Ripken baseball tournament and I had booked a surf lesson and kayak trip prior to our arrival. We got our schedule and I had to change all the dates and times. It was super easy with Kokopelli. Our surf instructor David was the best, friendly, helpful and fun. We also took the sinset kayak trip. Again the tour guides were awesome, knowledgeable and funny. I would highly recommend this company.

My daughter has had the best experience with her solo surf lessons. The instructor is very knowledgeable and easy going. He put her at ease immediately. She loved it so much we booked two more lessons before we leave for home.

Brandon was amazing!! This was our girls 1st surfing lesson and they were up riding the waves within 15 minutes of being in the water!!! We rented the boards for the whole day & it was hard getting them out of the water!! They had a awesome time!! Will definitely do this again!!!

We went out today with our Granddaughter! Fantastic day . Our tour teacher guide TJ was professional, educated, kind, considerate, patient and had a great deal of knowledge of everything we saw from the oyster beds to the way the waves flowed ! We felt safe with him . We paddled out to Cherry Grove Point !! Just beautiful. I highly recommend this activity !

We had a great experience renting kayaks from Kokopelli at the Cherry Grove Boat landing. I highly recommend this company for tours and rentals. The location was perfect and allowed us to explore the local marsh as well as paddle out to an island preserve. Reserving our kayaks was simple and their staff was very helpful and professional. We plan to try SUP next time.

We took the 3 hour kayaking tour. We loved it! The inductors were from the college and very knowledgeable about the area and the ecosystem. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area. Our favorite part was crab island, wish we had spent more time there. So much to see.

Went on the Island Tour and had a great time, and would definitely recommend for adventurous people! Instead of kayaking for 3 hours straight, you’ll have an hour break to explore an island. The tour guide was awesome; she was very sociable and knowledgeable of the area. Great experience and if in Myrtle Beach again will definitely stop by kokopelli’s!

I had a great time with my mother and sister-in-law kayaking. Wyatt was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the area. This was the first time kayaking for both my mother and me. Great service! Easy parking, and they were ready for us upon our arrival. They kept safety briefing engaged and worked fast to get us out on the water to enjoy our experience. We didn’t have to even move our own kayak to and from the water.

Myself and my two teenagers participated in our first surfing lessons with David today. This has been the best part of our vacation. David was a great positive instructor and we all got up and able to ride numerous waves all the way in! Kokopelli Surf Day is always our favorite day during vacation! Our children (9&7) have been attending surf camp every year for 3 years! The instructors are kind and keep your kids safe and are so helpful and supportive! Our kids love all the Instructors and this year with David was 10/10!!!

I’m from Myrtle and have been living in Ak recently. During my stay with family this was perfect! I’ve never had an actual paddle board instruction before- ive just hopped on-( in the pacific):)- which was one of the reasons I wanted to give it a shot-a different challenge, but I also wanted my younger sister to see an old side of nmb- Cherry grove-Wyatt was responsive for all levels- and the scenery was beautiful! I booked a private surf lesson for my two sons, 18 & 22 years old. We were very lucky to have Brandon as their instructor. He was patient and supportive! He encouraged them throughout the lesson. It was also great that they got in the ocean quickly after just some on-land instructions.We did go to the wrong beach (never been to NMB), 39th street N instead of S. Brandon called and when he discovered we were in the wrong spot, told us to hang tight, he would come to us - which went above and beyond our expectations. (We were ready to jump in the car and head to him.)I would highly recommend Kokopelli, and specifically Brandon. It was a great experience.

We highly recommend Kokopelli. Our group of 7 thoroughly enjoyed the eco maze tour with Wyatt and Riley. Also, Max made my younger daughters day by playing soccer for a few minutes while the others were on the water.

I had instructor named David and I got to say he was great. When they say they will get you to surf on your first lesson they are not lying. Literally on the first wave I was already up having fun. As he said he’s here to make it were you don’t need him anymore to enjoy the sport by yourself. The session lasted for an hour and 30 minutes and I stayed for an extra two hours with just surfing by myself. All you need to do is come with a positive attitude and you will have a blast.

We had an incredible time during the sunset kayak tour. Max was a fantastic tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area. The tour was reasonably priced for the amount of time spent on the water. You could kayak closer to the tour guide if you wanted a more educational experience or stay in the back of the pack if you wanted to have a more peaceful kayaking experience. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Did the Island Tour with my fiance and niece and what a fantastic experience we had with Kokopelli Surf Camp! TJ and Wyatt were so great to deal with - very pleasant and helpful. Together they made sure every bit of the experience from signing in, to launching and docking went smoothly. When we made it to the island and we were able to go explore, the group was given plenty of time to walk the beach or try paddle boarding. TJ made sure to interact with every member of the group throughout the whole tour and was always available for questions or to offer a tip for the newer kayakers in the group. We will definitely be coming back!!

Eco-kayaking tour was great family experience! Max was knowledgeable about local ecosystem and wildlife. Our older kids got to kayak on their own while our youngest enjoyed his ride! They even tried paddle boarding. Packed a lunch to enjoy on island. Both Max and Dalton were attentive to all, but definately kept a closer watch on kiddos which helped kids feel safe.

Coming from Michigan for an Archery tournament in Myrtle Beach, our family wanted to take a lesson on surfing.... as first timers we did not know exactly what to expect. We received Jake as our guy and he was spot on, extremely patient and a well informed instructor for myself/wife and four daughters. Clearly, he understood our goals and communicated the mechanics on how exactly we were going to be successful on getting each and every one of us surfing..... we received individual feed back on each wave he personally selected for us to insure we were successful.... he was informative on what makes a good wave vs a bad wave and at the end of it there were a few of selecting our own waves... Great time... super easy communications and no pressure on sales..... exactly as it should be.... bottom line kids loved it and it was an easy bucket list check Thanks Jake. ..

Brandon and James were awesome surf instructors that worked exceptionally well with all of the kids in the group that my boys (ages 9 and 12) were a part of. They really took the time to explain things and stretch the kiddos out so no one got hurt. It was super easy to make our appointments, and they were super professional and relatable to the kiddos. My boys loved their 2 days of instructions so much that they can’t wait to do lessons again when we go back in July! Definitely worth the money and can’t wait to do it again!!! Highly recommend these guys and this company!!!!! Great activity and learning experience for all kiddos! Just can’t say enough good things about Brandon, James, and the experience as a whole!

This was the most fun ever!!! This was definitely the highlight of our trip and we’re so glad we decided to do it. None of us had any surfing or boarding experience really, and David taught us really quickly and helped us. He was a super great sport and a great instructor!! I would absolutely recommend you take a surf lesson from Kokopelli when you’re in Myrtle Beach.

This was so much fun Wyatt and the other guide (unfortunately I dont remember the other guides name). They were both great they made sure you knew what you were doing, and never let anyone lag to far behind the group. They taught as a lot about the local habitat, as well as answer any questions we had. Both of them are excellent conversationalist and can keep you entertained the whole tour. 10/10 would do this again, and probably will on my next time around.

Learning to surf had been on my to-do list for way too long, so when a friend said, “let’s just do it,” I jumped! Brandon was great from the start. He’s a true local, so he knows these waves like the back of his hand. Hes a great teacher and had us all surfing by wave 3! We started as a group of moms, and now we’re a group of SURFING MOMS! 🤙🏼 If you wanna learn to surf, go with Kokopeli! (their dog, Koko even surfs… doesn’t get much more legit than that!)

I signed up my 3 sons for a private lesson last week while we vacationed in Myrtle Beach. My boys had no experience surfing and 2 had never even seen the ocean before and a half an hour into the lesson and all three of them were up on their boards. The instructor we had, though I can’t remember his name was both friendly and professional. My boys thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we enjoyed watching from the nearby pier. I would recommend Kokopelli to anyone interested in surfing even if you have no experience on the waves. I would also recommend the private lesson although we arrived early and saw the group lesson and it looked high quality, we just felt that for the small added expense the private lesson had a lot of value

Highly recommend! Booked easily online for pick up at their recommended boat ramp location. Easily found parking and the driver with the paddle boards. He helped us get started and gave us some very helpful tips for the area! We ended up coming in earlier than expected due to heat and were able to leave our paddle boards at the location without waiting for the driver to return. I will definitely be booking through them again!

Our 6 and 8 year old had a great time. They were standing on the board shortly after they went in the water. They did three consecutive lessons with their two cousins of similar age. The instructor, David, was fantastic with the children. He knew their limits but also provided them with such a positive experience they want to keep surfing. We highly recommend.

Signed up for the Salt March Kayak tour. Turned out to be a great way to spend an afternoon. Our tour ended up being just the two of us and our amazing guide, Wyatt! He guided us through the marsh, avoiding all the shallow spots, providing very detailed information about the area as well as the wild life.Highly recommend this tour when in the area! Definitely would do it again.

This was rad on every level! I took a lesson with John, and he is one of the coolest people I’ve met. He was so enthusiastic, positive, and thoughtful. He made me feel proud of myself during the lesson and I am now in love with surfing. He spent a perfect amount of time demonstrating basic mechanics before we got into the water so that I would know what to do. He also is experienced and has surfed everywhere. Wyatt who made sure to set up everything was also super kind and accommodating, and they gave me full-length, rinsed and dry wetsuits. Perfect Team. They also rent suits and boards if you want to keep surfing after the lesson. SUCH a great experience, and I already scheduled a rental for next weekend. Heads up, we did get to see some dolphins playing around on their surfing spot. 11/10 recommend!!

We had an amazing experience! The instructors were so great especially with my 6yr old son. We were first time surfers and everyone in our party actually got up on the board and surfed the waves. The instructors were patient and really encouraging! Their instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Most importantly we had so much fun!! We highly reccomend!!

David was our instructor for a private lesson with our two girls ages 10&14. He was such a great teacher... got right on their level and made the whole experience rewarding and fun. What an amazing experience for our 6 kids! The company was very responsive before our lesson and then during the lesson so attentive to each child. We did the sunset paddle boarding tour and it was spectacular! We were in a group of 6 boarders and 5 kayakers (give or take). The guides were very thorough and patient! They told stories, were very informative about the ecosystems, birds, fish and tides in our area. We paddled to a beach area and rested for about 5-10 minutes. They gave out water to drink and allowed the people on kayaks to try out the paddle boards. One person in the group wasn’t able to paddle board back so the guide towed them! The sunset could not have been more beautiful! Kokopelli surf camp provides a fun, safe, paddle board experience! We’ll be back for the sunrise tour! I highly recommend!!!

My husband and I were vacationing at the wrong time. Or at least the weather hated us. Ha ha. We had to reschedule twice and the last day we were there we had a 45 minute session; as my husband was leaving the ocean he managed to get served by the current. Oh the instructor was concerned and attentive,so was the lifeguard. He had a mild concussion with a gnarly sand rash on his noggin. I don’t believe we took our pictures due to the high winds, my husband’s bloody head and my absolutely exhausted face… but I bet they would’ve been hilarious! I highly recommend this camp if you are not easily worn out. Or at least on a day when the weather cooperates! We scratched off trying surf lessons on our bucket list. These kids are very encouraging and driven! I was ready to give up but oh man that kid wouldn’t let me. He wanted me out there at least once. I really do recommend this place! If you’re going to try it, put your life in their hands.

Sooooo great! Had private lessons for our girls on vacation $50pp for 1.5hrs such a great deal! The instructors were fun and knowledgeable and made two nervous teens feel very comfortable and confident. They had them laughing and eager to get up on their boards. Definitely a highlight or four trip. Would do again no question. Booking was easy from their website and had 0 issues.

I was in town for a week staying with family and didnt have my vehicle with me, but I wanted to go surfing and also didnt want to walk 3 miles to the shop to rent a board. They literally delivered to the front door of the place I was staying at with different boards all fitting what I had asked for and explained to me the pros and cons and functionality of each. Having only surfed a couple times before with no real success I was easily able to get up on the board they had suggested and I will happily go back to them everytime Im in town and would encourage others to do the same

We did a sunset kayak tour with Wyatt and Rylee this evening and it was amazing and peaceful. Wyatt is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and water in this area. I loved that they offered to teach people how to paddle board while we were at the island and helped identify shells that were picked up. We had extra time and Wyatt asked if we wanted to marsh walk for a few minutes and that was so fun. Wyatt knew so much about the animals and plants in the marsh and found some crabs and other small sea creatures. What a sweet added bonus tonight. We can’t wait to do another tour soon.

We rented two tandem kayaks online to meet at the Cherry Grove Pier. We had our two kids with us (age 7 and 11). Wyatt met us there, was super professional and helpful. He gave us good tips and tricks for the waterway. I loved that I could rent online. Everything went perfectly.

We had an absolute blast hunting for hermit crabs and watching horses on the island we kayaked to at the start of the tour; we also wanted to thank Wyatt for being a great tour guide throughout the tour especially on the marsh! Thank you Kokopelli Surf Camp for making our trip *extra* memorable :)

We had a great time kayaking with Kokopelli Surf Camp. It was very reasonable and easy to book. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely use them on my next trip to Cherry Grove Beach.

These people rock!! Brandon was the best teacher to have patient, informative, and gave great encouragement throughout the lesson! Took the kids and hubby surfing for our first time. Brandon got us all surfing within an hr! Photographer was amazing he captured every moment sending me over 30+pictures of the day!!! Rented the boards the remaining of the day and it was totally worth it. Will be back asap!! Thanks Brandon for the wonderful memories!!!

On time with 5-10 minutes ahead of it. 12, 14 yes old boys learn first time and they did it wonderfully before the end of the session. Wish we can do another lesson, but weather was not good. thank you so much.

Came in town for a quick weekend and wanted to hit the water. We rented a few boards and they worked great. Brandon made a few recommendations, which we followed and I’m glad we did. Super easy process. Drop off and pick up was super easy and flexible. Will definitely reach out again!

My daughter and her friend took surf lessons this past week in North Myrtle Beach. The instructors were wonderful ! The girls had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend Kokopelli !!!

We did the island tour and it was a very amazing experience. Wyatt, Max, and Dalton were very informative and answered all of the questions that we asked. They were also very helpful for new kayakers/paddle boarders. This tour is definitely highly recommended for other families. Our kiddos favorite part was finding crabs and shells on the island.

Great experience kayaking with Kokopelli! Rented a kayak for 8h and did a self-guided kayak through to Waties island and then back through the salt creeks. Wyatt was extremely professional and responsive with pick up and drop off at cherry grove beach ramp. Would highly recommend! Best value in the area too!

All five members of our family took a surf lesson with Brandon, and it was great. He was knowledgeable, positive, and patient throughout. We all got to stand on the boards and really surf (after some wipe outs) in an hour and a half. We ranged in age from 9-42, and he communicated well with each of us. We all recommend this company.

My girls had an absolute blast learning to surf today! David was the best instructor, taking a genuine interest in each girls success and cheering them on with every attempt! Thank you for helping us make these unforgettable memories!

Wyatt and his staff were awesome. Very knowledgeable and professional and took us along a really beautiful route to a sandbar and tide pools. They were easy to reach when I needed to change a reservation, and super friendly and helpful with the kids in our group, making everyone comfortable. Would definitely go back! I’ve gone both SUPing and kayaking before and this was a super relaxing sunset excursion for folks of all abilities.

Great experience! Wyatt was very knowledgeable on the tour and gave some history of the waterway and area we were kayaking in. Really nice guy and great teacher! We had a lot of fun!

Went out this past weekend and it was an absolute blast. Wyatt really got everyone involved and engaged not only in the kayaking but during the island tours as well. He was extremely knowledgeable and made the entire experience well worth the money. Would definitely recommend taking anyone of his tours!

Awesome place. I cant recommend them enough. They really know what theyre doing and will get you to ride a wave. The feeling is amazing and really gets you addicted to wanting to surf more! The one on one instruction is unbeatable. Im not great in groups and have a hard time working on finer points, specially with something Ive never done before. They have awesome instructors and worked with me, from helping me pop up on the board to holding my balance and feet placement. They helped me to understand each part of what you have to do and worked with me in and out of the water. This is the place to go have a fun time and learn an amazing hobby that will have you wanting more. I definitely plan on coming back again! thank you guys!
