Absolutely terrible service. I have been trying for weeks now to cancel my service (moved out last month) but I tried and couldn’t do it online and every time I call I wait for 40 minutes and no one picks up. And then I just got my bill again today.Edit:: they have responded to this review promptly and for that reason I have upgraded them to 3 stars!

I was attempting to sign up for new residential service. I called customer service because I had questions about the service agreement which seemed to imply there was an extra $46 dollar fee for additional services. Since I was ordering Solid Waste and Recycling I wanted to make sure I wasnt going to be charged this additional fee. After waiting nearly 30 minutes I was eventually connected with an agent. I told her I had a few specific questions and she still insisted going through the various rates. Eventually I mentioned that a separate fee is mentioned in the service agreement and I was inquiring if that would be charged in addition to the base rates (trying to ensure it wasnt some sort of hidden fee). She seemed to think I was asking about the rates on the website vs the rates she was quoting me on the phone, which was NOT what I was asking. I tried rewording it a few times and asking if she understood me. The phone call went silent and I was shocked to pull the phone away and see the call had ended. I cant say definitively that she hung up, but at the beginning of the conversation she asked is this a good phone number in case get disconnected? and I told her yes. I have received no call-back so I presume we werent connected because in theory she should have called me back! DO NOT give this grifters your money. Ill take my recycling to the dump myself or pay a neighbor to throw things away in their trash can. I wouldnt give these people a dime, no wonder they have horrible reviews.

We live in the Johns Island area. Every single week the workers leave cans knocked over either in our driveway or in the road. Absolutely disgraceful. Been on hold for 45 minutes to speak to a manager. When you call you get no good info. They will not return your call, even if they say they are going to call you back with an ETA. Absolutely horrible. Wont give you an estimated time. Been trying to get a dumpster moved for 4 days now.... They may or may not come today. Who knows -- not them!!

I just cancelled my service with this company. They constantly miss their pickup dates and have been steadily raising their prices since I signed up. The last straw was when I was told yard debris removal was not included in my service while my copy of the original service agreement lists it as included. They tried to get me to add an additional yard debris removal service even after discussing the original agreement with them. The only person that would admit it was included was the person that was in charge of cancelling my service, how convenient... Oh! They also charge $15 to cancel your service for the bin pickup.

Company is Awful. Worst Refuge Company in Charleston. Constant Missed Pickups, No response from Customer Service. Get Billed even though they Dont pick up. 7/15/2020 Missed Pick-up, never picked up when was told they would be by for the trash pick up on 7/17/2020. Driver even noted to main office that the pick up was done on 7/20/2020, never happened. Now for today 7/22/2020, no trash pickup and its the scheduled day. Getting nowhere and this company does not hold their drivers nor themselves responsible. They dont want my business nor would I recommend them to anyone else.

Do not use this company if you can. They have not picked up our recycling for over a month now despite reported a missed pickup over 10 times. They continue to tell me that someone is coming to get it the next day, but it is still out there waiting on them. They escalated my case after about week 4 of no pickup and told me an operations person would call me directly to figure it out. Still no call from them, and they wont provide a number for me to call myself.Honestly, I would love to just dump our garbage in front of their office.Update: Emailed them. The never returned my email. Now been a month and half since they picked anything up.Update #2: Still without pickup. I have called every single business day with promises from them to pick up our recycling that day or the next day. Each day they give me different information.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY HAVE RIPPED US OFF.Update #3: After finally threatening to cancel, demand a refund, and drop their can off with our recycling on their front porch in North Charleston, they finally picked it up. However, they missed the next schedule pick up again. So here we go again. Honestly, I have never seen such a broken company. Surprised some redneck hasnt started picking up garbage instead of them.

From being charged more than any of my neighbors for over 3 years to having the service changed to another provider without notice and having full cans sitting curbside for almost two weeks is unacceptable!! I’ve not even gotten a new can from the current provider because Republic Services left out over 1,000 residences during the switch. I’ve called numerous times and no resolution. 100% unsatisfied!!!

IF I COULD GIVE REPUBLIC NEGATIVE STARS, I WOULD. I pay my bills timely every month and they have missed consecutive weekly pickups--to the point where I have up to 15 bags of trash in my garage. When I call to report these pickups, the representatives were not able to provide a reason for the missed pickups, but said they would send a truck out the next business day (which happened to fall on a Monday). I EVEN CALLED MONDAY MORNING TO CONFIRM PICKUP, which they did. Here it is, Monday evening, with 15 bags of trash sitting on my sidewalk.DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. THEY ARE ATROCIOUS IN ALL ASPECTS.

Republic Services is the worst trash pickup company I have ever dealt with. Management never returns calls. These past 2 months they have not picked up my garbage 4 weeks. Missed 3 weeks in a row each time. Sounds like this branch needs new management and hire better people.

If I could give this business zero stars I would. We prepaid our deposit of $500 ( after signing the contract days before) on last Tuesday. We made it very clear we needed a roll off for Thursday... as we had a feeling from the start about, what could happen if they didn’t deliver by Friday as they are closed on Saturdays. On Wednesday we asked to switch from 20 yard roll off to 30. Thursday we waited all day . No one called . No one emailed. After finally getting in touch with a human we were told we didn’t sign one form. Ok?!! So, you don’t call the customer? Instead you just don’t show up? Knowing the customer has prepaid their $500 deposit. So, on Thursday we were promised our roll off would be delivered on Friday. My husband is a busy contractor and took time off work to be around the site to wait on driver . As, we were also promised the driver would call first, so we could meet him at site. As the hours passed with NO call or delivery, we attempted to call and email. Finally at 3:30 pm on a Friday we were emailed with a reply that it would have to be turned over to a supervisor . What?!!!! We had scheduled heavy equipment to be used for this roll off the next day... Saturday morning. Well, Republic never called back. Saturday came and NO roll off. My husband struggled all day with a broken down rented dump trailer .... from the rental store to get his job finished . This is absolutely ridiculous. How do I know without a doubt this is unprofessional and NO way to run a waste business. Fact:it is .. you don’t treat customers that way!and Fact: I (Melissa)used to own my own successful Waste business in Charleston years ago... sold to Waste Industry. In fact, with my business, I had a 24 hour guarantee. If your roll off wasn’t delivered as promised in 24 hours, your dump was FREE! My customers got theirs, as I was into making money honestly...unlike this company. I wish I would’ve read all their one star reviews first. So, it’s Monday morning now and you can believe we are going to get a refund! Missed pickup for 2 weeks and multiple missed expedited pickups meant to correct for the missed pickups. Central office seems to have zero ability to ensure local service functions. Appears all Republic customers in my neighborhood were missed repeatedly. Their local operation is clearly broken. Waste removal is essential and you should skip Republic Services if you want your trash picked up regularly.

Never had much of a problem until they stopped servicing my area. Ive had a trashcan full of trash in front of my house for a month now. They were supposed to pick it up last week..but they never showed..and was told it would be another week before they get out there (heard that before). Seriously about to dump this can off at the office along with the HOA fees....no one can help over the phone apparently.

We were billed more than many of our neighbors for many months until we complained and they lowered it somewhat. A few months went by and it was still higher than many neighbors, so we complained again and they lowered it again and it was approximately the same as most neighbors. Our neighborhood changed to Carolins Waste and we canceled our service with Republic and Carolina Waste began our pickup on July the 10th. Republic was called and asked to pick up their container. They just got it one week ago, so we had it sitting in front of our house for 4 weeks waiting for their pickup. They finally got it and billed us for $49.44 for picking it up. They didnt charge for delivery. We should not have to pay this arbitrary fee. I called today to appeal the fee and was put on hold for some time and then they hung up and did not call back. We should be charging for storage for 4 weeks. Something is definitely wrong with this company.

I began having missed recycling pickups over 6 months ago, sporadic. Now its about 2 times a month. Ive now called 5 times in the last 2 weeks due to two missed pickups in a row. Ive been escalated. No one calls me back. No one picks up my recycling. Ive spoken to 4 customer relations specialists and none of them have called me back as promised. No one from the local office has called me and my recycling, which I pay for is sitting by the curb. No one has any accountability or takes responsibility. Its a huge racket. If I could, Id give it ZERO stars. So frustrating, its like a dead zone.

Republic not only has missed pickups by days, with no contact in regards to it, but they have been charging me over double of what the initial quoted cost would be per month. When I call and speak to customer service, I was assured it was be corrected, and nothing happens. Finally, I was told that the quote was wrong, yet nobody from the company attempted to make contact with me in regards to a new quote OR to make sure that I accepted the price different of the service. This business is unprofessional and unsatisfactory. Do not use, might as well just throw your trash away yourself.

We have used Republic now for 17 years. When it was Suburban, they were everything one could want in a waste disposal service. Then Republic took them over. The bill kept going up for the same service.The last few weeks have been the last straw. They have not picked up our trash for TWO WEEKS now. Theyve totally stopped recyclable pickup WITHOUT WARNING.DO NOT CHOOSE THEM FOR YOUR WASTE DISPOSAL NEEDS!!!

It pains me to even give this company a 1 star review. They dont even deserve a zero. Im pretty sure a service must be provided in order to bill for the service. In the first 5 weeks that we were Reblic customers, they did not come one single time to pick up our trash. Not one time. Not for regular scheduled pickups or the weekly missed pickups that we would call to schedule. We tried to cancel the service since the service was never provided, and even after being told on the phone that our account was credited to zero, they are still sending us bills. If youre considering using Rebulic for trash pickup, please do your research first. They have over 4,000 complaints with the BBB in just the past 3 years. Do yourself a favor, save yourself time and frustration and just drive your trash to the dump.

Worthless. Prior to moving into a new neighborhood, we had a choice of using their services or taking trips to the nearest recycling location. I chose Republic despite their 2 star rating thinking this must be a mistake. It is no mistake. I ordered two containers to be delivered on 2/14/20. They never showed up after a month of waiting and phone calls with promises of delivery. I will be making trips to the recycling location. Its worth the savings. Think twice about your options.

Started services 1 month ago and still have yet to receive a container. Called just about everyday just to be told that the situation will be escalated and still not resolved. Spoke with a supervisor that says they will give a call back but according to the reviews that will most likely not happen. Next step will be the bbb, in addition I just recently moved from a subdivision in moncks corner in which the HOA dropped them and got a new traSh service, now I see why. Ive been a customer with this company going on about 6/7 years and had minimal complaints about the removal service itself, but other aspect of it, oh man! I have an issue mainly about how they are always increasing their prices every 6 months and when you ask the purpose of the increase the customer service representatives come up with some scripted answer about increasing the quality of service and blah, blah, blah. I bring my trash out, they pick it up and I put it back, rinse and repeat. No one comes to my door, tap dances or sings then takes my trash, so why the increase? Usually when I speak to a customer service representative I can usually get my bill back down to what I was previously paying, not to mention one of my neighbors only pay $45.00 a quarter and they only lived at their address a year before me, but my rates change every 6 months. I called the company this morning to get my bill reduced $14.00 to match the competitor to which the representative was very lackadaisical about it. Ive worked in customer service before and no matter what my issue was that day, I was hellbent on providing the best services I could. Sometimes I could help and sometimes I couldnt but I always remained professional. After I attempted to get my bill lowered with negative results I decided to call back and cancel my service. I was calm and not upset in anyway, but what was really unprofessional was when the representative said Im sorry to see ya go, but well see ya next year when their rates increase. Talk about being petty on another level. That comment alone is definitely why I wouldnt even considering coming back to this company. I dont care if the company Im with now doubles in prices. I would opt for dragging a maggot and rodent filled trash can to the dump my damn self. I would never allow this unprofessional company to service me.

Cancelled service because of the missed pickups and lack of response when escalating issues. Local managers never call back as promised by the call center.Now Republic sent a bill for trash can removal but have not removed my trash can. I have called nearly daily for Republic to pick up their thrash can (3 weeks now). The billing dept seems to work well but does not translate to the services side.Republic has not valued the business of Legend Oaks neighborhood.

The callbacks only ring one-time, so I have sit ready to answer immediately. Every person is short with their response, lack knowledge as they all seem to be unsure if what theyre doing will help. WARNING!! Do not sign their contract. It is a bunch of legalese heavily written in their favor. If you do sign the contact understand the automatic renewal clause and what and when you have to do things to terminate. Republic charges you a “Container Refresh” fee to have the containers switched out every year. They may have switched mine out but it is just as worn out as the previous one. “Recycling Process Charges” also show up on your invoices with no explanation other than it is in the fine print of their contract. There are other waste service providers out there that are a lot easier to deal with and less expensive.So here are the responses I received back from Republic.This one is in response to the $9.00 per month “container refresh” fee.“When we complete a container exchange it should be a refurbish container without any holes in it.”Apparently, you have to pay Republic $9.00 per month extra so your container will not have any holes in it.This response addresses the “recycling processing charge” which we are now being charged an additional $69.97 per month.“The Recycling Processing Charge is an enterprise-wide fluctuating charge imposed on customers receiving recycling services. The RPC is intended to help Republic Services recover both direct and indirect costs associated with the processing of materials received at its recycling facilities nationwide necessitated by high levels of contamination, strict specifications by purchasers of commodities, and highly fluctuating commodity values.”If anyone can understand and quantify this, please let me know.Again, if you deal with Republic this is how you will be treated.

I called to set up services a couple of weeks ago, and since then have called five separate times due to our container not being delivered. Every time I get told it’ll be delivered in the next 24 hours. Today, I got told the same in addition to trying to tell me I only called twice. Thanks, but I know how many times. This company just wants your $50 up front to not provide good service. If we had another choice for trash service in our neighborhood, we would definitely switch. The customer service provided is absolute garbage!

Is zero stars an option? Everything is just terrible. They have missed our recycling pick up for the last four weeks now. This is an entire month where we have paid for nothing. The customer service rep we keep talking to, Maria, keeps telling us that we will have a rescheduled pick up with no results. Nothing ever comes of calling customer service. They don’t care that they aren’t actually providing a service or being helpful in any way. Hopefully this review finds someone that can both refund the monthly recycling fee and provide an explanation of the poor service.

I’ve been using this service since January.They are the WORST! They don’t come on your scheduled pickup day,and they leave trash in your bin. I called today to be told that I have to schedule to have bulky items picked up and that won’t be until next week. Now I have to haul the stuff back to my garage so I won’t be fined by HOA! If I can give 0 stars I would! I am over them. I now understand why everyone else on our street uses priority! I am on week 3 of recyclables not being picked up and the run around stories of why are a sh.. show!!!!! And the fact that when I call I can’t speak to anyone locally is unacceptable. They sent someone out today “Specially” for me as I was told and as I saw them come I was relieved however, the pion for a brain driver only took the two pizza boxes!!!!!I find it comical that the company responds back with ME needing to send an email! Recycling pickup has been missed three times in a row, and that doesnt even count a missed rescheduled pickup. The customer service reps are nice, (have talked to three,different ones over the past three weeks) but that is about it. Wish I could give them a negative 5 rating.

Update:Im updating my first review & giving 3 stars. Service and pickup has been consistent since August. Keeping my fingers & toes crossed. I think they had staffing issues. Good Pay & Benefits will get Good employees Republic. Plz keep up the good work.First Review:Customer service representatives are NOT HONEST about delays in services. I am constantly told that my missed pick-up would be rescheduled for the next business day, which is never picked up day after day. Just tell your customers that missed pick-ups and delays are happening in the area and it could be a week or more before residents could be serviced. At least that way the customer can attempt to make other arrangements instead of having loads of trash spilling out into the streets and property. HONESTY IS KEY TO GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.Its unreal the negative reviews Republic has received over the past year. Does anyone have any suggestions for using a different company? If so please share.

I called 3 times today to ensure that my old mattress that I scheduled a pickup for last week would be picked up today. Well guess whats still sitting out in front of my house? The mattress. Why is it so hard for someone to provide a service that they claim they provide? 3 times I was told that my pickup was scheduled, 3 times I was told that they have until 6 PM...Is it going to take 3 scheduled pickups before you actually pick up the mattress? Disabled veteran 80% permanently disabled, my wife has cancer and I have never come across a company so unsympathetic. Missed our pickup for no reason whatsoever. Made 7 calls to the N Charleston office, spoke with Kaley (so called supervisor) multiple times explaining our situation and was told no less than 5 time someone would be by to correct their mistake. Never showed after 5 days. I dont know how these people live with their selfs.

As I write this my neighbors trash is still out from Tuesday. When I cancelled service they charged me $40 to pick up the can. They are more expensive then Priority 1. I would not recommend them.

They have missed pick ups for two of the past three weeks. Then they ended up taking the container with them this last time and left trash all over the yard. When I called they had no clue why that happened. And worse they said I would get a new container in one week...meaning I will miss my pick up day again!!! I signed up for trash service on 6/22/19. They said would deliver trash can 6/28/19. Republic Services fast to debit my card for $25 for trash can I haven’t ever received! It is now 7/9/19. Of course they told me to put my garbage bags, without can which I didn’t have, on front lawn and they would pick up. I live in rural area, if I did that trash would be strewn everywhere from the animals getting in it. I explained this to them. The I don’t care attitude came with the same reply put garbage on lawn for pick up, will be charged. Even if I had done this, funny thing they never ever came anyway even if I had done this!!So far very unimpressed and skeptical of this company. They escalated my complaint twice, and no one has cared to call me back or show a concern except call center, who can do NOTHING!Horrible, shoddy, unbelievable way to do business!!UPDATE 7/26/19:So finally got garbage can. Can delivered day after 7/10 pick up! Classic! Finally received first pickup on scheduled 7/17/19, and yes next week on 7/24/19. Republic services quick to send bill charging $50 for DELIVERING TRASH CAN, though never saw that stated anywhere when I signed up, and charged me for whole month of July and already billed for service August through October! Can’t say I wasn’t surprised. And like most reviews state, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.Guess I will spend most of my day trying to rectify their mistake.

They haven’t picked up my yard debris for 2 weeks. I’ve called repeatedly and they have scheduled next day pick up but no one shows up. I’ve also asked for a supervisor to call me and I haven’t been called back. They picked up all of my subdivision yesterday but not my culdesac. My grass is going to die soon. I’ve been promised another pick up on Monday but I have my doubts, they promised the same thing last week.

I wish that I could leave zero stars! Everyone before me has done an excellent job describing what has taken place. I too had my route replaced by Republic. My husband has been calling incessantly since July and we still have no can! Yes, our case has also been escalated, but I now see that is meaningless! I’ve spoken with a supervisor and was promised a call back and a can, both of which were never received. My account is paid in full. I am livid and the worst part is that there is no recourse. I’m tired calling. It just makes me upset, because I know I’m being lied to, especially after reading these other posts. If they’re out of cans or aren’t prepared to handle the route, just say so. Signed up for these services on August 19, 2019. I was promised a can on 08/20/2019 and that never showed up. I called and asked where the can was and was told that I would receive it the following Tuesday. The following Tuesday arrived and my can did not. I called again and was told that it would be here again and yet, never showed. My complaint was supposed to be expedited. I never have once received a phone call back. I just called again and was told that again, this complaint is going to be expedited. I will wait and see. I am going to contact the BBB now since its currently 09/06/2019UpdateI got my trash can the next day 09/07/2019. Its a shame that it took a comment and a complaint to the BBB to get it. Other than not getting my can I dont think I will have an issue.

USE PRIORITY 1 OVER THIS COMPANY! Constantly changed pickup dates for trash removal causing multiple missed pickups. I have watched the collection team drive right passed my house with my container outside by the road. I have missed multiple pickup dates because they apparently forgot to call and inform me of the change resulting in me having to leave my container by the road for a full week and it still didn’t get emptied so I continued leaving it and checking it everyday to finally find out which day was my new pickup. Their rates have gone up unexpectedly just by receiving a bill in the mail for the new quarter. I called to cancel and they are charging me for the rest of the month plus a container pickup fee. Priority 1 doesn’t have any container fees or extra charges like this company does. Save some money and some headache and stay clear.

Decided to use Republic because if recycling, even though prices were highest. Our first bill had a nice fuel fee of ~$50 which wasnt stated in the initial phone quote to start service. Then they started off with our can delivery being delayed by 3 weeks, despite paying for the quarter and several fees up front while our garbage just sat in the garage.Had more than one missed pick up between the garbage and recycling. Called to cancel. Representative said I should give them a chance to fix it. I did and did not cancel at that point.After more missed pick ups, decided to cancel with Republic because of missed recycling and trash pick ups. I found the process for reporting missed pick ups frustrating and inconvenient, and could get better rates with competitors. I called to cancel and found customer service to be accusatory and rude (“You didn’t call.” “Well if you don’t report it, we can’t fix it.”). Those are valid points, but I did in fact call multiple times and don’t have time to wait for a call back. I would often leave messages and either didn’t get a call back or received a call at an inconvenient time. All to say, I felt like I was putting forth too much effort and time just to report a missed pick up which shouldn’t happen in the first place.Finally, I was not made aware of the can pick up fee when I initially signed up nor when I cancelled. I found out because I called to question the bill I received for the quarter following my last date of service. I was told the fee $30 for picking up their own trash can. I was told I could disregard the bill and that I would next be billed for the $30 fee.Next, I received a past due notice from collections. I do not appreciate my name being attached to the collections department, especially when I have called multiple times to try and clear the confusion up. The bill reflected that I owed $51. Bill did not state what I owed it for. The bill the quarterly price with all but $51 credited back. Speaking with a representative who said the $51 was for the can removal. I questioned that since I was quoted $30. She said $51 included taxes and fees. I asked for a bill with a breakdown stating that instead of a past due amount with no explanation.TLDR: Horrible professional and customer service, and somewhat shady fees and charges.

Their service is the worst. Over the last several months they have missed our entire neighborhood 5 times. Entire streets of houses not picked up so we have to go two weeks before they decide to pick up the trash, yet they continue to bill for their services. You call to schedule a missed pick up and they still don’t show up. This company is the worse.

Horrible company, wish I could give them 0 stars. They have been constantly raising their prices on us since day 1, to the point before canceling, we were paying almost $800 per year for trash/recycling pick-up. They are also making us pay $30 to pick up their own trashcan after cancelation, and will not allow for us to drop it off at their facility to avoid this ridiculous charge!Also, every time there was a holiday, they skipped picking up our recycling that week, yet we never got any reimbursements or credits for it.We could not be any more disappointed!!!

I really thought waste services couldn’t get worse here but then we got Republic. This company has skipped our trash can two weeks in a row now. We called to tell them wen it happened the first time and they assured us the truck would come back by the following day. It never came so this week we had overflow bags. They stopped and picked up the extra bags but left the entire can full.

I rarely write reviews but after waiting 30 minutes just trying to talk to anyone on the phone I feel like I must now. I own a business and have a container from Republic Services, just about every week for the past 2 months they would try to charge me an additional 60$ because some parts of my garbage is sticking out of the top of the container. Every time after I call they would remove the charge but I absolutely can not stand the wait time and I just feel like they are just trying to charge whatever they want to make money. Find another company!!! I am canceling my service as of today too.

AWFUL company. Called 8 times to get a trash can delivered. They have missed multiple pick-ups and when you call to report it they tell you they will come and then they dont come so you call and they tell you theyll come and they dont come again. I have called four times about missed trash pickup. They picked up box’s on the side but did not empty the can. They said they would schedule a pick up and they did not show up the day they scheduled. The last call they gave me a complaint number and said someone wold call. They never did call. The staff is friendly but they don’t really care about the people ordering service. I ordered a trash can and it never came. When I called they said that they were short staff and everyone wants a trash can. I could understand that. They set a different delivery date and I didn’t get it that day. I am now going on three weeks and call them about 3 times a week. I get the same excuse. If I still do not have a trash can by the end of this week I feel a reporter should do some investigation on why no one can really seem to get a trash can when they are supposed to be delivered.

If you buy a new home like I did and decide to start a new account, or want to continue services with Republic from a previous account at your address DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You HAVE better options! Everyone in my neighborhood has been scammed by this company and switched to Priority One. For me, the switch saved me more than $150 annually. This is the most SCAMMING UNPROFESSIONAL company I have ever encountered and their continuous 1 star google ratings just confirms this. I no longer have their services, but they are still trying to bill me. When I called to resolve the issues, they rudely refused to honor what I had already been confirmed with by another employee. I only had their services for 5 months and it has become a HUGE regret. This company should be SHUT DOWN.

Stay away from this company. I cancelled service with them because their prices are ridiculously expensive. They charge twice as much as Priority 1. Im still waiting for them to remove their container. Its been two weeks so far, and theyve lied to me multiple times about when theyre coming to pick them up. Dont waste your money or time on this company. Worst company I have ever had to deal with. I have quit calling and complaining because it does no good. If I had the time I would go back to just taking the trash myself to the dump. Customer service is rude and has no clue what to do ever and to say horrible would be giving them a compliment. Pretty obvious the owners dont care their just in it for the money. Because if they did then all these complaints from across the nation would raise some red flags and things would change.

My neighbors and I have been waiting since Tuesday for trash pickup. Today is Friday and our streets are smelling. Called customer service ... no information no urgency to have someone contact local office. Ask to have local office to call me. Answer I got was 24 or 48 hours before a call can be returned. Customer service was doing only what she was taught ... she was nice however I ask for a supervisor... my concerns is that the entire neighborhood trash is smelling and unsafe for children playing.... if some kid tampered with trash a potentially lawsuit!

This is the WORST trash service I have ever had. They have missed my recycling pickup for 7, yes SEVEN, straight weeks, not counting the reschedules that they missed every one of those times. Every time I call they seem to be so interested and escalate the problem, only to miss it again the next week. The saddest part is that I have no other options, apart from loading my trash into my personal vehicle and talking it to the dump. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

This has to be the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I pay for recycling but they show up on time less than. 25% of the time. When I call in, the rep gives me the same story; “i’ve sent a message to the local area manager to let them know of your experience” and then they give me a “make-up” day and they don’t show up that day either. There is no local person to talk to and no accountability for the service!!!I’ve just resigned myself to taking the recycling to the local dump and doing it myself. I will be canceling my service the end of July and I would do sooner but I am sure they would not pick up my trash or refund the unused portion of my bill that I already paid.My neighbor had the same experience and when he canceled it took them over a month to pick up his container and wanted to charge him $30 for ending the service. They are very, very terrible at customer service. They never pick up your trash for home services. You pay for weekly services three months in advance and they only show up every 6 weeks not weekly. Ive called repeatedly as Im disabled and pay for services to my door as well . They always say they will escalate to a supervisor and never do. I have grass growing a foot high around the waste container and trash overflowing into the yard. Id give a negative 10 stars if I could . Im so fed up with their disservice to me. I really wish there was another provider to my area but there is not one. My only other option is to burn it or pay a neighbor to haul it to the dump. DONT USE THIS SERVICE. If you work here you have my number. So call me or Im posting it on Facebook, Twitter and anywhere else I can . Ill be sure to have me by the big piles of trash in my wheelchair.

Worse company I have ever used. Wish I could give no stars. More than half the time there is no recycle pick-up and when you call about it they apologize, say they will be right out, and no one shows up. Others on the street get their recycles picked up but not us. You have to pay in advance and there is no way to cancel. Horrible experience.

Our weekly pickup is missed often. When you call and let them know, they act surprised and say someone will be out ASAP to pick it up. They never come, until the next scheduled pickup date. Will be canceling, it’s ridiculous. We pay for the services, wether they decide to come or not.

I called to start new service last month. It has now been 5 weeks since I ordered the can and have yet to receive one. Yesterday I get a bill in the mail for $170 which includes the Container Delivery and for service for the month of April, even though I still have NO CAN.I spoke with the manager who said Im still responsible for the month of April and the container delivery fee, even though I still have YET TO RECEIVE MY CAN.I cancelled service and will be using a local company for waste removal.

I ordered service a month ago on 6-11-18 and have been told every week that I will get a can on Tuesday. I have yet to receive one (7-9-19). They cant answer why either. They have sent messages to another division that was supposed to call me back the same day and have yet to hear from them! I have also received a bill. Why should i pay for no service? Terrible!

Good pickup. Worst customer service I deal with on a regular basis. After 20 minutes on hold, they promise to call back the same day. Not once have they done this. Changed my bill during a set contract. Took several calls to correct. Their customer service is enough to drive me elsewhere.

Stear clear! They routinely didnt pick up our trash or recycling but were quick to charge for it. Then they showed up almost 4 weeks late to pick up our can, unannounced, and my husband only noticed they were at the house after he caught them snooping around my husbands truck, then sent us a bill charging for 3 container removal fees PLUS a fuel charge. Zero stars should seriously be an option! We were only signed for a few months and it proved to be a few months too many! We finally had the bill fixed after 4 or 5 calls over the course of 1.5 half months and just to get the container picked up we now have a bill of $130! Ill definitely start looking into filling a claim.... they need to be shut down.

Most of Charleston is back to work except these guys. I have garbage piled high in my can and a weeks worth of garbage piled in my house. I need my trash picked up immediately. I order a 30 yard dumpster for our offices remodel on a Monday. It was supposed to be on site Tues morning. It is now Tues at 4pm and no dumpster on site. I have been on the phone for over 45 mins during my work day to find out where it is and when it is coming. The clueless female on the phone can give me no answers. I asked for a supervisor and am now sitting on hold. I should have read these reviews before ordering. They were the cheapest so I guess you get what you pay for. The worst part is...I hired help to come start with the demo and now have to eat that cost due to no dumpster showing up. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Horrible company. Wish the City wouldnt contract this company for pick up. Im in city of Charleston yet they contract Republic for our pick up. They wont pick up yard waste for 3 weeks typically and when they do it must be in little snowflake piles or they will leave it. After a big storm they refused to pick any yard waste up and they made the city do it after it sat on our grass for 2 months. We also use them for recycling, They charge us for this, it was $7.80 per quarter, or about $31 a year. However they went up to $45 per quarter! $7 to $45 is crazy for the same level of service. City of Charleston and Berkeley county should do collection in house, or at least find a different company to contract with.
