We have had to take our truck here a couple of times last minute for off the wall issues. Each time they have been extremely professional and courteous. When we thought repairs would be insanely expensive it turned out to be something simple and easy for them to fix. They had our truck in and out in a snap. It also helps they are just down the road from base in case we needed to tow our vehicle there. I highly recommend them.

I know everyone is a little leery when taking his car to the shop - but I can say hands down that this place is awesome!!! A guy ran a red light, totaling my Audi, so I had to dist off the old 2003 Dakota from up north, whose drivetrain and body exhibited extensive rust. Jimmy and Dale did a FIRST CLASS job in identifying and replacing all necessary components, constantly kept me abreast of progress (she needed a ton of work), and ultimately converted the old Dodge into an amazing ride - I cant believe it!!! And the price was far better than I had anticipated. They actually discouraged from replacing several components that I had suggested, because after tearing it apart, they discovered that many of my suspect components were in good condition after all. They could easily made a loiter money off me - but chose not to - because of their honesty. No wonder the word of mouth on this place is sky high !!!

Reasonably priced but dont expect to get your car back in a quick time frame. I took my car here to have several leaks fixed. I asked them to identify all leaks and let me know what the cost to fix each of them would be. The mechanic called and said he needed to replace the valve cover gasket first to see where the other leaks were. After that, the car sat in the bay for two more weeks and when I came to pick it up there were three separate puddles under the car from other leaks he didnt even know about. Im not going to use Macks again. He takes too long and didnt even look for the other leaks. I left frustrated and took my car to Roberts Automotive.

I’ve been doing business w this organization for years ... my last experience however had me questioning the ethical behaviors of both ownership and mechanics. After questioning them they became irate while in the facility and asked me to bring my business elsewhere. The irony is the founder of the business apologized several times for both her sons actions and mechanics vulgarities. This wasn’t uncivil by me as one may think by reading this, yet the interaction of the staff was! F bombs etc being thrown around. Don’t send your wife, mother daughter or anyone you care about here!!

This rating shouldnt be a surprise for anyone living in the greater Charleston area. There reputation for being shady isnt unjustified. The service team has the enthusiasm of Congress passing a vote for term limits. Definitely a turn and burn operation.

Fast, friendly and accommodating establishment! They will never try to take advantage of you and are always honest about your vehicle! Would highly recommend them to anyone who need quality and affordable work done ! The receptionist is also as cute and sweet as can be :)

I love love love Macks Garage. It is the first place I would take my car too. I bought a car without air conditioning and the previous owner had gotten a quote from Firestone saying it would cost well over $1000,and that they didnt even offer that service. Well when summer came, I couldnt not have air anymore. Macks Garage fixed my air conditioning for $80 and some change. And it was not a band-aid fix, I never had a problem with my air conditioning again. They also know when to refer out. When my moms transmission was starting to go they explained that they were not equipped to fix what was wrong. So they gave my mom information on who to go see. And they did that for free. She had been there two times before explaining what was happening. They drove her car and kept it there for a day both times, for no charge. Name one car repair garage that does diagnosis for free? Macks Garage. Thank you for fixing my air conditioning, you will hopefully not see me any time soon, but if anythings happens youre my first pick.

Honest mechanic. You dont hear that much these days, and below you will see several other reviews stating the same thing. My neighbors in the neighborhood across the street from Macks had told me to take my car to Macks if I either had an issue. Im glad they told me, another mechanic would of taking advantage of the situation. The folks here fixed it right and at a price way better then those folks in the bright orange buildings would have.

The guy was rude and acted like he didnt need my business. Left there feeling small and unimportant.

They fixed my truck and Im happy as duck.

They try to keep the costs within their estimates, sometimes ends up costing less than quotes. I think mechanics are honest and have done a few quick jobs for me at times for little or no cost.

But my boyfriends car was broken into with multiple items stolen ! The owners response was he found the car open closed it up and moved it . NEVER called us and his response to the officer, I didnt call the police because you guys never do anything anyway and I was ready to go after a long day . However he told the office he found the car 8am Saturday morning !!!! Something isnt adding up. Their unprofessionalism is RIDICULOUS!!! Will be updating post as this case furthers .

We took our Mazda CX9 to have the brakes checked. Macks called us within a few hours to let us know the brake booster was bad and that Mazda was covering the repair under an extended warranty, but we had to take it to Mazda. They just turned down a job that pays anywhere from $600 to $1200 and let me know Mazda would do it for free. This place is very honest and weve always had a great experience. I highly recommend them.

The man at the front desk was not very friendly but service was good.

I took it to them because of a power steering issue and they said they fixed for a not so reasonable price. The issue was not fixed and they did not find the problem. When we took it back a second time they said that it was fine and that the engine light on was not because of them and they would just turn it off. Not satisfied at all.

Very good to do business with. I called 6 other places to get my oil changed for my diesel truck and everyone was around the same price, but here it was 50$ cheaper!! Not to mention a quick turn around time.

The absolute best... Quick turn around and well under the price I expected!!! I will be taking all three of my cars to Macks Garage!!! Even to install air freshener!!! Thats how awesome they are!!!

My clutch went out on my 2012 Chevy Cruze... They tell me $1400, over the phone I show up and its actually $1600...not only that, but now the A/C fan runs constantly and now I have a check engine light on my car...I am extremely attentive so I know for a fact it is directly related. It was quite with no lights while it was broken and not driveable, but they fix the clutch and now Ive got check engine light on and my fan WONT TURN OFF. They even tried to tell me check engine light is on cuz guy didnt plug the speed sensor in all the way and the fan runs off outside temperature but it hasnt cut off Since I picked up my vehicle, my car was NEVER that loud and did not have a check engine light on while it was broken, but once they fixed it I did

The Machanic ordered and installed a heater box assembly, did not screw my center console back down completely left screws on the floor. I traveled 750 away after service, when i took it to a Machanic in that state, I was told the hoses where not connected all way, and Im lucky i didnt break down on the highway, car ran hot.

Probably the most trust worthy mechanic in town. They do great work at a reasonable price.
