WARNING!!!!!!Stay away from this shop. These people misdiagnosed my car and wanted to charge me a fortune. When I tried to question the lady behind the counter about the diagnosis she had attitude and was disrespectful. I asked for the owner and was told he was gone for the day. Took it somewhere else for a fraction of the cost. Glad I went and got a second opinion. These people seem to prey on people who know nothing about car issues. Get a second opinion before using this shop.

I came to this shop after 5 hours of searching for the right place to service my car. I was suppose to go somewhere else but came back here. He told me they would take care of me and boy didnt they. My difficult car was services for a great price, the right people, and the right attitude. Special shot out to the owner Jimmy who handled my situation with such compassion. My car was a mess. The converter and flange was cut out of this car with am exhaust leak on the flex pipe. They found the best solution for my car and it was impressive. thanks personally for your help. My sons car broke down on the Mark Clark late on a Saturday night, and as the nearest garage, it was towed to Jimmys. Jimmy worked on it Monday morning for several hours and realized that the problems with the fuel and electrical system was potentially beyond the cost of the car itself. He stayed in contact with me throughout Monday discussing options and had another of his technicians take a fresh look at it Tuesday morning. They both agreed that the time it would take to find the source(s) of the problem(s) and then the expected cost to implement the repairs would not be worth it. I mention all this to say: he only charged me for an hour of labor despite obviously spending far more than that just on the scans and tests. He was upfront and honest about what could have been a very expensive (and likely unsuccessful in the long run) service effort. My experience has nothing to do with his shops workmanship. This is more about his honesty and willingness to tell it like it is and lose out on a potentially lucrative transaction by simply doing what might technically be justified but ultimately meaningless. If you are in the area and in need of help, you could do a lot worse than giving Jimmy and his team a chance to look at your car. He has certainly earned my business.

My car was acting weird when I was driving to work and my check engine light was flashing. I stopped by here because it was on the way to work and they got my car up and running in less than two hours. They were very helpful and reasonably priced. They didn’t try to overcharge me with anything extra either. This is my new go to repair shop

I was there a few days ago to see about a problem with my car because I had used him in the past. Jimmy the owner had a white powdery substance coming from his nose and seemed to have been drinking alcohol. I guess that is why he seem so agitated, he rushed me and was very rude like I was bothering him. He use to be a great place to go to for repairs but after witnessing this I will never go here again. I would not recommend anyone going here since the owner cant seem to stay sober at work.

DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!! I called before going there and was told it would be free diagnostic on a check engine light. Jimmy comes back into the office 30 mins later telling me it was going to cost $800 plus $150 diagnostic. Never did he tell me there was a diagnostic charge. You could also smell alcohol on his breath. I told him I decline the repair and went to walk out and he yelled at me about $150 diagnostic that I did not agree to. Jimmy is very unprofessional and the fact he smelled of alcohol says a lot about his business. I would not trust anything this man says over the phone or in person.

He didn’t just tell me, he took me back and showed me the issues. He does this every time. I’m thankful there’s an honest man in the mechanic world here. It’s hard to find good honest ones. Jimmy and his crew went above and beyond for us! We were out of towners all the way from North Myrlte Beach on a weekend in bad weather! Our only transportation was towed to the shop and needed a part that could not be retreived until after the weekend! He came and got us from the hotel with our luggage and bags and did not leave us stranded in North Charleston out in the bad weather even though he was closed. Jimmy and his crew are by far the best people. They took care of us when we were in a very bad situation. Now on our way back to North Myrtle Beach in a car rental safe and sound thanks to Jimmy. We could not have called or met any better auto repair shop willing to go out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. He turned a bad weekend into a good weekend and week without Jimmy and his crew we would still be stranded in charleston with no transportation and no way home. He went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. I HIGHLY recommend calling Jimmy if you need a machanic. Not only because hes good at what he does because he is also a great kind hearted man. We are so blessed to have met him this morning and his crew! I had an oil pan that needed to be fix. I know nothing about cars. They charged me $800 for it. I didn’t want to pay it and they gave me back my car still trying to convince me to pay $800. I went to get other opinions from 3 different people they all said a price in between $100-$250. That’s ridiculous.

Jimmy is great. Took my sons old beat up truck in. It was running so bad we were sure it needed a new engine. Jimmy took a look and found an exhaust issue. Fixed it cheap, and the truck runs great (seriously). I think we will hold on to the truck a little bit now.

Goes both ways....Jimmy saved me a lot of money by doing a muffler (weld) repair on a 2004 Infiniti G35 exhaust when the dealer wanted me to replace the catalytic converter. KUDOS on the small repair.This week I brought in my hunting truck for making a loud clanging noise. They diagnosed as a bearing issue & I also needed new rotors. Jimmy gave me a discount because I really didnt want to do the work but he convinced me. $975 later I had new bearings & rotors. Unfortunately after picking up the truck I discovered it didnt do anything for the initial issue. The truck likely did need the bearings (definitely the rotors too) but I didnt need either of those done for my issue especially not on a truck I specifically informed was a hunting truck.Next, he diagnosed it needed a new front differential and offered another discount due to time of year to put in a used differential for $1050 which he solidified would resolve my clanking issue.I took the truck to my friend, who I shouldve originally taken it to, and he diagnosed it with me. It was the universal joint which can be repaired for $50 (no labor) & instead we replaced the entire drive shaft for $165 case closed. My friend isnt a vehicle mechanic by trade but it took him longer to jack the truck up than it did to diagnose the problem & will take about 10 minutes to change out the drive shaft. Told me he/we could have done the hub assemblies & rotors for about $450-$550 less worst case. Super happy he was able to do it but NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH JIMMYs who nearly cost me an extra $1500 total for no reason.What really ticks me off is they probably never took all 4 wheels off the ground to (very easily) determine the issue I brought it in for but instead drove it & just moved on to the differential without putting eyes for the actual sound/problem.Final review - great for small repairs but get a 2nd opinion for anything major unless you already know what it is.

Bringing my car to Jimmys was a great experience. He had all the repairs done in one day and since my car broke down on the way to work, he gave me a ride to work! I appreciate the kindness shown and honesty about the work needed. And he says he stands by his work, which makes everything a little easier to handle.

Jimmy’s is the place to go in Charleston for your auto repair needs. I’ve had exhaust pipes, oil changes, and car repairs done on my different vehicles over the years and recently when I had car trouble I went back again. As usual I left completely wowed and impressed. My Ford Escape runs better than it ever did after he fixed it all up for me. They work fast and efficient and you don’t have to worry about dishonesty or upcharges. You can truly leave their knowing your vehicle was given the best car care possible, at a very reasonable and fair price. I won’t go anywhere else again. I’ll admit I had been doing my oil changes recently closer to my dwelling, but that’s over now, only Jimmy’s from now on.

Took my vehicle to Jimmys and had an overall good experience. After checking out my vehicle, he even offered to have someone take me home due to my vehicle not being so safe on the road. Service was very fast, and he stayed true to the quote that he had given me. Walking in a repair shop as a woman and alone I felt very shaky from the jump, but he was straight to the point and very informative.

Service was very good, car returned clean, clear on price prior to repair, got a ride home because the wait was greater than 2 hours and was picked up when car was ready.

My daughters car broke down and I live out of town, so I felt very helpless. I called Jimmys Auto and was able to speak directly to Jimmy. He promptly stopped what he was doing and went to my daughters location. He started her car so she could follow him back to the shop (Saved towing expense). Once at the shop, he diagnosed the problem and fixed it at a very reasonable rate at sent her on her way within an hour. Jimmy was clearly what we needed in this situation and I am happy that I called him. I will most definitely use him when in need again!

I would recommend Jimmys hands down! My car was towed to Firestone, they kept it there all day, and I was told it was a bad battery cell that was covered under my warrantee. The next day the battery light came back on. I took it back to Firestone and was told now it was the alternator, and I would have to leave my car there again. I called Jimmys and he told me I could bring it there right now. This was 2:20 pm for a same day job. I almost didnt make it there because my car was running only on the battery. They took it in, fixed it in record time, and it was $200 less than what Firestone and Pep boys quoted! Best service ever!

Terrible service I was charged 900 dollars for a radiator and bracket replacement, thermost,and radiator cap only to find out the filled my radiator up with all water when I paid for 2 gallons of coolant went back to them and they still only put one gallon in I wouldnt let them fix a bicycle for me again

After going here for an oil change only, they tried to tell us our spark plugs, head gasket, and distributor all needed replacing, and constantly tried to get us to get them all changed, that day on the spot.Note: we had everything tuned up and check out down to the battery cables and all connections, and fuses less then 2 weeks prior.Our vehicle has been running perfectly.They then proceeded to take me back to show me the problems with my car. Ive been working on cars for nearly a decade, there was nothing wrong with anything they mentioned. While I was in the back the owner/manager tried to strong arm my wife into getting the financing started to do it.Moments after we left this establishment(roughly half a mile) our check engine light was now on.I highly recommend finding another place to get your vehicle cared for properly if you are in need of repair.

Had my car towed to Jimmys Auto and he called to give tell me what was wrong with it. Mind you he just had my car 10 days ago and told me it was the starter $251.00 later. When he called this time he said he had put it on the machine (this is the 2nd time it has been on the diagnostic machine in 10 days) and he admitted it was not the starter. You mean the starter I just paid you for, yes maam its a leak in the pumps. So Jimmy are you going to take the amount of the starter I paid off the amount for the pumps ($538) no maam we can not do that. Really, I will find someone else to take care of my car. Put it back the way you found it this morning. Well we are going to have to charge you for 2 hours labor. No the HELL your not. I would never use them again. I will take my business elsewhere.

My engine overheated on the way back from Myrtle Beach, SC. My family and I were only a short way into our 9-hour trip when we found ourselves sitting at an AutoZone, looking for available mechanics in the North Charleston area. I ended up calling Jimmy’s Auto after the store’s recommendations fell through, and I am so glad I did. I highly doubt we would have received such great service anywhere else. Jimmy came up to the AutoZone immediately and helped us get back to his shop. One of his mechanics stayed late into the night to make sure we were on the road in the morning. Jimmy even took us to and from our hotel, which was a welcome gesture considering the unexpected service bill! Still, I was pleased with the price of service as well, which more than fair considering how quickly they got things done. We made it back to Florida safely, and on schedule! We had a wonderful experience with the entire team at Jimmy’s Auto and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an honest mechanic.

Towed my van here for a tune up after several small repairs & still not working. They said no diagnostic fee. After 24 hours & no call from them, I called and they said the battery is dead n needs charging so theyd get back to me. They never called. When I called again, Jimmy spoke so fast I couldnt understand and asked him to slow down & explain. He said he has another customer to deal with. Finally, I would be charged $85 for the diagnostic, and $510 for the tune up. !!!!! I said I couldnt afford and they insisted on diagnostic fee even though they said free. They put van back together and I had towed back home. Thats when I discovered my side door broken. The metal was actually ripped open around the lever, so they yanked it open pretty hard to get to the doghouse/engine. Also, whenever Id leave a phone message like the key is taped on the van here they wouldnt check messages and called to ask where the key was. These guys are at best unorganized, at worst liers. Their communication was terrible and they were rude. They had my van for two days & nothing was done. A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

God was with me when I found these guys. My truck was overheating and in need of immediate care. They took me right in and demonstrated a true desire to help me. Although the problem was so severe it could not be accomplished before they closed, they tried everything they could to get the vehicle drivable that day. I left the vehicle and to my surprise by the time I called in the next morning, they had my vehicle fixed! I highly recommend Jimmys Auto Repair Center for all of you automotive needs.

Best and place ever

These guys. These guys are good. I took my Infiniti G35 w/ sports package in here and they diagnosed my issue within 30 minutes. The fix was quite involved (flex plate replacement) and it was ready to drive away with confidence the next day. I could tell these guys are like family and get along real well with each other. It was all around a very positive experience for me. Next time I have car trouble in the Charleston area, Im not going to hesitate taking my car here first.

Very honest and fair priced, costs me less than 20% of what dealers will charge you, and finish the job in less than 10% of time that will take a dealer. They will show me what was wrong with the car by pointing me to the faulty component. I do not have reoccurring problems after I leave this shop. This was my go-to shop when I was still living in SC.

Friday morning my car would not start. I called Jimmys Auto and Jimmy came to check to see if the cars battery was t problem. It was not and the car was towed to Jimmys Auto. The starter was replaced. The service was excellent and the price was most reasonable. If Im in Charleston and have car trouble in the future, I will certainly call Jimmys Auto.

Web search and sign outside says they do oil changes. When I get there the person behind the counter said they dont do them. When prompted about the sign I was informed recently changed what we do. Cant speak for their other work, but the drive wasted my time due to false advertising.

These guys are awesome. Had a squeal coming from the front drivers side wheel of our 2004 Chrysler Sebring, and was worried it would be a costly repair. The gentleman that was helping us took the car for a drive and was determined to find the source of the problem. He tracked the source of the noise to nothing more than a bent balljoint heat shield touching the rotor. Fixed it for us and sent us on our way with no problems! Cant wait to bring our car back here to get some more work done down the road. :)

On vacation...had a hole rubbed in a bottom radiator hose on my F350..walked in was treated like family...was repaired in less than an hour...the bill was fair...and I went back to Folly and vacation....awesome shop....thank you!

I just moved down here from Ohio and looking for a mechanic. I thought something was wrong with my battery cables because the guy at autozone said the cables were bad and needed replaced. Well just happened to drive by Jimmys and called the number on the sign not expecting anyone to say bring it on in and let me look at it right this minute. Well Jimmy answered the phone and told me to bring it well he looked it over and told one of his guys to grab a 10mm. Jimmy tightens it up and says They sell parts and we fix cars. That earned my trust right there. Knowing I was willing to go ahead and pay the $100 to fix the connectors I didnt spend a dime. Thanks Jimmy! I will proudly become a new customer just on that!

They didnt do a proper diagnostic and only mentioned other things wrong with the car after a payment of $200 for reattaching the hose and putting a coolant. Said it would take an extra $300 to fix the fan and head gasket. Do yourself a favor and dont go here.
