Davis did the heater maintenance work. So when the A/C (May) needed to be replace called this company. Everyone was very professional from Jim made the estimate, to the technicians Shawn & Nick. The work took most of the day. Once they were done, they reviewed the new system, allowed me to ask questions and left the place as if they were never there.So when the water heater ruptured (August) I did not hesitate to call Davis. The location of the water heater was tricky. But Jim was able to locate a tall one. Dave the technician did the install with a helper. He allowed time for questions and explained the system. Also left the place as if they were not there.

Had Jim come out to quote a replacement for my furnace and air conditioner. He said it was an easy one and to expect a quote within 24 hours. 16 days later, I am still waiting for the quote. No response to my emails asking for the status. Two calls to their office, they only say they will leave a message with Jim, but that they also have no record of him coming to my home. I understand things happen, but there has been zero effort to communicate.
Got a new central air unit installed, Nick and Troy were awesome and did an excellent job installing the unit and duct work, no pressure sales, good quality work, great company, would highly recommend for heating and air needs, thanks for all you did in a timely fashion
Ive gone with Davis Modern Heating & Cooling for repair/maintenance services and installations/upgrades over the course of the past 8 years or so and have always been extremely happy with them. Bill Davis and his team are courteous, professional and responsive. There is definitely an old-school feel of personal attention and customer-care/service about how they conduct their business -- something that unfortunately has been getting more rare in todays world. Davis Heating and Cooling installed a new Bradford White water heater. Price was competitive. The techs arrived on time, wore masks, worked efficiently maintaining the area clean when they performed the work. They were on time and completed the replacement in less than 2 hours. Recently using Davis Modern heating and am having mixed reviews. I have an old Gibson heat pump which when it reaches frigid temperatures goes to electric heat. Well one Friday night my pregnant wife and 2 year old child was freezing due to some part failing.When I first called on a Saturday they were nice and actually came out quickly. I wasn’t there when he arrived due to being at work but my wife was home sick and the man did a quick diagnosis and left. Was told the office will be in touch on Monday. When I arrived home I noticed my door to the heater was left open. I called the technician later that night to find out what was wrong and he explained it to me.Fast forward to Monday I called the office in the afternoon trying to figure out how much it will cost. A lady answer and was very polite and told me the purchasing manager bought my part earlier in the day but can’t confirm how much it was or when it can be installed. She told me give her a couple of hours and the manager should be back with the information and either he or she give me a call.Fast forward to Tuesday still haven’t heard anything debating on should I call them or go else where. Started scrolling through these reviews and questioning my judgment. Created this review and got a phone call about an hour later. They needed to find a similar part since the company is no longer making it. With Christmas and New Years the timing sucks with the post office overwhelmed. But I got a price and seems to be decently priced nothing outrageous but certainly not cheap. Waiting on the part to schedule the repair.I will update this if anything changes but as of right now I’m chalking it up as possible complications of COVID at the office or some poor miscommunication. But they are polite and came out quick.
Davis Modern Heating and Cooling has come to my new home and done a heat pump/AC install and last night did a semi-emergency oil burner repair. Everyone that has worked in our home has been professional, courteous, and helpful. I really appreciate the service weve received, and would highly recommend them.
Wayyyy over priced....i know...ive spent over 14 grand in 13 years with them....and they still want me to pay 30% more than other companys world charge...i thought I would get a break for loyalty...nope....
I contacted Davis for their $58 tune up special and because my heating bill had gone up almost $200 in a month. Turns out I had installed a smart thermostat I correctly and it wasn’t even connecting to the heat pump. My heat was running on electricity alone.Stuart, the technician did an excellent job of explaining the issue to me. We discussed my options for the best smart thermostat and I chose to have a Nest thermostat installed. A bit more costly than the $58 I had planned to spend😆 but I know it will be much more cost effective in the long run.Stuart made sure everything was working perfectly with the Nest unit and the app on my phone before he left. I am very grateful for his expertise and concern. Great job!!!

We needed an air conditioner replacement quickly. Davis Modern was very responsive. They performed and onsite inspection followed by detailed and accurate assessment of the existing system . I had an A.C. outage on a hot day in July. I called after the end of regular business hours and a very warm and professional gentlemen called me back within 5 minutes. He assured me that I would receive service in less than an hour. They showed up within a half hour. They did not take advantage by charging an emergency or after-hour service fee. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem, made the repair, and we were cooling again within an hour after making the original call. The service was actually shockingly efficient and dependable as compared to the rest of the HVAC service industry.
Tom and Cole were incredibly professional and conscientious installers for our heat pump system. They made very sure not to track dirt or mud into our house. They thoroughly explained how to operate and maintain our new equipment, and were detail oriented in their workmanship. They even finished early. Id recommend them to anyone! Plus, the owners are very hands on with customer service.The financed pricing and warranty on our unit was unmatched by other local companies we got quotes for. They were able to come out two days after we signed our contract.The reason I didnt give 5 stars was because their estimator or mechanical engineer thinks what he says is right and laughed at me when I asked him to instruct the installers to do something different than his recommendation. Long story short, I ended up being right. But dont let him be the reason you dont choose Davis.Thank you Davis family!

A representative met me and my husband at our house and explained everything to us in detail. There was no pressure at all and no rush to make a decision. He informed us of rebates and the necessary permits required by the township. Davis took care of all of that for us. Was it fun having to buy a new unit? Absolutely not - but they made it as painless as possible. I had a tech jason come out to my house to check my ac on this hot Monday it’s 90 plus outside fast service and no after hour charges.Hewas on time pleasant he went over everything with me even washed the outdoor coil surprised because no ones ever done that really went over and beyond here. great company great people they really do right by the customer. I will be using them in the future.
Honestly not thrilled with this company, had a new HVAC installed end of February, AC has not worked properly since, 4 different guys have been out in the past month and it is still not properly fixed. I live with people who have health issues, so the urgency to have proper AC is a necessity. I have reached out to the owner several times and gotten no response back. I get companies are busy, but this is a brand new unit. I wouldn’t think there would be so many issues, hence why I even spent the money to replace it. My family’s health and safety is now on the line because the unit is still not properly fixed.

***DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR SERVICE***I had been a customer for several years. I was stuck with no heat in my rental, with plummeting temperatures last week. They charged me over $600 to install a pilot burner. Not because that is what it cost, but because that is what the Flat Rate Pricing is. When I was given the estimate I was led to believe this was a major undertaking. But, 2 hours labor and a $40 part and I was charged $609. I wish I made $275 an hour. The Service Manager basically told me too bad, that is what we charged you. I was stuck and had no choice as this was the Friday after Thanksgiving. I used to think they were a decent, I was wrong.

To say our system replacements were difficult would be an understatement. Davis Modern assessed the retrofit, provided a very clear proposal with options, and completed an excellent job in our home. I would truely recommend their expertise and work to anyone searching new or replacement HVAC systems.
Had them out to fix a hot water heater. We gave them the code and the tech was there for 15 minutes to diagnose that it needed a new gas valve control which is what the error code said. Two days later came back and took about an hour to put part in. I found the part online in a minute for $200. He charged us $681 total.When I questioned this over charge the response I got was: Two techs the first day for an hour to troubleshoot the issue. Then another hour in the office to locate the part and order. Followed by another hour and a half for two techs to install the part. Other option was to replace the entire water heater which would be over $1200. By the way the actual price of part was $261.26.So if you want to pay for two techs instead of one, have someone charge you to search the internet for an hour for a part (I found it in a minute for less), have them take 2 man hours to diagnose a code than was on the screen then definitely hire him.

I recently used Davis Modern Heating & Cooling to have a new heat pump installed and was very impressed with their service. I got another quote which was about the same price but Davis did a much better job explaining my options and helping me pick the right heat pump for our home and situation. Their contract was also much more detailed and easy to understand.On the morning of the installation our neighbor backed up into our brand new heat pump and broke it as they were unloading it from the truck. Davis handled this exceptionally well and was able to get a new unit without any noticeable delay in the installation. I will definitely keep using them in the future.
I just got a high efficiency boiler from them and they were amazing! Jim Reese is very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable that I was getting what I needed. I never felt like I was being pressured or oversold and it ended up costing much less than what other companies quoted. Kevin & Adam the installers and their crew did a great job and had it all done in two days, including taking out my old heater AND tank and sweeping up so that the basement is cleaner than it has been since I moved in. :) Great job!
I would absolutely never suggest Davis unless you want completely useless and incompetent service. I had Davis come out to do a routine service check on our AC unit to make sure everything was up and running and all equipment in good shape for this summer and not even two weeks later the motor fan in the unit broke. We had to have emergency service (thankfully from a different company) to get everything replaced as we have a baby in the house, the whole ordeal cost us $1300 in addition to what I had already paid Davis to come out and “make sure everything was up and running”. The technician who fixed our system showed me the fan and it was completely rusted and falling apart which I can’t believe Davis didn’t notice or bother to check when they were here. I will most likely be reporting them to the better business bureau, so do yourself a favor and stay away!
I needed a new furnace & central air system. My neighbor used Davis HVAC company & was quite pleased with all phases of the experience.Jim ( my salesman) came to my home & assessed the needs & answered all my questions. I was quoted a price, he took care of all the arrangements, & set up the installation. I was called by the office & they discussed date & time. When the installers arrived they were very polite & professional & they removed the old furnace & they respected my home with care.I have a crawlspace that is very difficult to work in & the installers made it look easy. The Heater & Central A/C unit was installed without a hitch. The tech explained how to operate the thermostat & how the Heater and Central A/C would work.I have lived in my home for 33 yrs, & these were the nicest people that I have ever had in my home for service work! I highly recommend them for all your heating & cooling needs..
Very professional company. On time, even called to make sure I was home before coming. The gentleman that came to my home was extremely informative and very helpful. He gave me a lot of good information on a new thermostat. But, he was no pressure on getting one! I would highly recommend Davis to anyone. These guys are terrific!
We contacted Davis Modern to provide a proposal for a new gas boiler and ductless split system. They came out to the house Bu over the course of four weeks waiting on the proposal we contacted them twice by email and called three times to follow (my wife was more persistent than I’d be) and never received any response back. We reached out to a couple of their competitors and received proposals in under a week. I do not recommend Davis Modern if you’re looking for customer service or responsiveness if this is how they treat customers on projects of this size. Just imagine trying to get assistance if there was an actual issue.
I cant say enough about how awesome everyone at Davis is, everyone is friendly and knowledgable. They knew all the ins & outs our particular style of house. So many qualified people were involved in our move from an oil boiler to a heat pump, air conditioning & water heater. We needed a whole new system and they had all the answers at a great price. Pleasure to speak to on the phone, but tried to schedule an appointment for over a month. Didnt even get a quote, just wanted them to come and fix the issue. Eventually I sent an email saying never mind, I found someone else that could fit me in.
Our furnace broke on a weekend during a winter storm. My regular HVAC guy couldnt come out, and 2 other companies didnt return my call. I called Davis and got a call back in 10 minutes, and a tech out in an hour. The furnace was irreparable, so I got a quotes from a few companies. They were all around the same price, so we chose Davis because they were the most professional and obtained proper permits from the Township. They were also the only one offering a finance plan with 0% interest, which was much appreciated. Order and installation process went well and the furnace works great. Overall, we were very happy with their work and customer service.
We first began using Davis Heating and Cooling back in the 1990s with fuel oil deliveries and then with installation of a central air system. Their installers were well trained in that they knew how to route the ducts without intruding into the rooms. Since then we had Davis install a propane heating system with super high efficiency. We could have had a further away and somewhat less expensive installer do the work but we felt the value came from having a local company do the work and be there for those times when the furnace or air conditioning needed service. Amazing service! In the peak of winter, my heating unit broke down and I called over 10 different heating and cooling companies to come to my rescue. No one was able to come out to my house the same day until I called Davis Modern Heating. They came out to my house 2 hours after I called them. Had a new air conditioner installed. The techs showed up on time and were very professional. Upon the completion they went over everything with us and answered all of our questions. The best part there was no mess left for us to clean up. If I hadnt been home Id never wouldve known they were there.
I Called to set up an appointment for an estimate w/ Davis Modern heating and cooling. Was looking for a new High efficiency Gas furnace. A week later I had someone come out to look at my heat pump and was hoping to get a written estimate detailing the scope of work and price. When the representative left he said he would have the quote to me by the evening since this was an Easy Job. After numerous attempts to reach the gentleman who came out to my house, I just finally gave up waiting for the quote. I called their office multiple times and I keep getting the response that they are backed up and the estimate is sitting on their desk and will be typed up shortly. Its been over a month since the gentleman came out to my house.. Im moving on to say the least, not very professional at all.
Be weary of promises the sales representative will make as the owner never intends to make good on them. Some call this “sales fluff”.Recently used Davis to replace our Central heating and cooling system - after getting quotes from various local vendors, Davis was in the middle and based on the job as it was explained by the sales rep, seem to be exactly what we wanted/needed.When it was time to install the system, it was very, very clear that the installers and sales rep had never spoken about the job, nor did the company intend to make good on promises made by the sales rep during the actual sale.Davis uses an old-style carbon copy form with various checkboxes and lines where the sales rep can write in whatever detail they need however it’s clear that the information gathered on this form is only used in the sales process and will never make it to the installers. Also there are items called out on this form that are not going to be part of the install.As you can imagine I spent more time on the phone and writing emails to Davis’s owner that in the end, we should’ve went with the more expensive and more qualified/competent company.Advice if you wish to use Davis Modern, get in writing on Davis letterhead with exactly what they intend to do or “what they are selling you” - lastly if you have gone with Davis or choose too, do yourself a favor and check the model numbers that are installed versus what is shown on your invoice/bill as you may find discrepancies.

They never sent me the quote for a new AC even after 9 days. A business treats you their best when their courting you, and this is not good treatment so far. Sadly, Ill have to go with another HVAC company.
Great people the Davis. Our new system works great and our electric and propane usage has decreased quite a bit since January. AC electric following same pattern.
At first the my impression of this company was good. Jim came out for the initial consultation and I was impressed with the visit. I left the visit thinking I should make a switch over to this company for all my heating and cooling needs. Well, the good wishes ended there. After about a month waiting to hear back on a quote, I called Jim and he apologized for not responding sooner and said he would get back to me by the end of the day....I waited...no call. So I called him back a day later, left a voicemail...two days went by and no response. Call me persistent, but I called him back a third time and left an urgent message with the receptionist to have him call me back ASAP and still nothing. Not sure what to think of all of this except a complete waste of my time; I guess Ill never know how good it would have all turned out. All I can say is, if you dont want my business then just tell me upfront rather than wasting my time and your reputation.
Obnoxious, ignorant and rude. Their service man came to fix my neighbors heater this evening and got into an argument with me. He presumably parked in my side of the shared driveway by accident and when I asked if I could help him, he asked if this was house number 12. I told him that it was the house next store. He asked me if it would be a problem to park in my driveway. I assume because my neighbor had not shoveled hers and the roads were still not too clear. I asked him if he would be gone by morning and he started to give me an attitude and would not answer my simple question. I had no problem with him parking in my drive if in fact, he would be gone by morning but my neighbor has a habit of bartering for services and I wanted to make sure he would not be an overnight guest. He accused me of talking down to him and started yelling at me in a condescending tone. He asked me again if he should park somewhere else and I told him yep. I would have had no problem with him parking in my side of the drive if he had a least been civil to me. If this is how their repairmen treat people they want a favor from, I cant imagine the service they give customers. Update: I am a real person. I am not sure what exactly in this review constitutes libel or defamation of character however, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Based on my experience with the technician, this is my honest review of his behavior. I am only adding this because I received a mysterious note on my door relating to this incident. Some people are about drama and negative it seems.

Poor experience with Davis - they came out and said they could help. Said they would quote my job within a week, offered me several options and seemed very eager. Called back two weeks later since I had not received anything, they said they would get back to me. They never called back, called again and still never responded. This is a waste of time and effort to come out to my home and then not follow up at all.

I was about to write a review pertaining to the excellent service I received from Davis on January 24, 2016 when I came across the comments written by the person below. I am house #12 and I am aware that my neighbor was referring to Davis coming to my house that evening. I was appalled to read what was written! There was defamation of character made by making false accusations to those involved which points to libel!I live in a townhouse where there are no outside lamp posts to light up the driveway so it would be easy for others not to be able to see house numbers. As we know there are “some” that seem to not have a life and look for excitement anyway they can. They try and find something negative to say about everything and everyone with what goes on at their street, and many times broadly exaggerate! Just to set the record straight, I received nothing but outstanding service from the gentleman that fixed my heater. During the big snowstorm I was trying to get the snow off my heat pump. I must have torn a wire from the bottom which automatically caused a fuse to blow triggering not just my heat pump but the heater to shut down. Thus, I had no heat, including the emergency backup. I was desperate to get this fixed as soon as possible and called many other heating and cooling companies the next day. All said due to their work load they were unable to come out for at least a couple of days. That is with the exception of Davis, who understood my dilemma and said that they would do their best to come out sometime during the day, if not later on. Actually I was quite surprised to see Davis’s truck pull up after 6 that evening because I was sure it was hard for them to come out at all due to so many calls they must have had that day! As I opened the door I was thinking I was going to get charged a large bill because of the service being done in the evening and on the weekend. I was quite surprised when I was only charged $59 for the service call! The service technician was nothing more than courteous to me as he was getting my system up and running. I can’t imagine him even slightly being “obnoxious, rude or ignorant”. My little dog kept going over to him. I didn’t want her bothering the technician so I called for to her to get away. I was surprised when he said it was OK and picked her up and kissed her. I am sure that wasn’t part of the service. LOLIf you are interested in having great repair work or installation and at an unbelievable price by a skilled technician, I highly recommend Davis! They are now my new go to heating/cooling service company!THANK YOU Davis!!
Well today October 31 2016 at 8 am two davis heating guys had came to install my new heater here to fine out they had the wrong heater for my home they had anf upflow heater instead of downflow heater what and inconvenient s this was i had made plans for this to be done today i just dont know how they can make a mistake like that when they came out and look at the heater and took pictures of the old heater with and i tablet in order to give the estment
