Visited this location with family. Interesting museum. My only issue was the museum had an issue with the gaiter I was wearing and I was told I had to use one of their masks interest. Whomever made this rule should have done some investigation as to the different gaiter available. The one I had one was an under armour fleece gaiter. My girlfriend had a similar mask on and nothing was said to her. Either way, Im happy to see they were upholding covid protocol.
A truly wonderful day spent here with my husband !!!The ONLY thing I would have done differently would have been to give ourselves MORE time & we were here for 4 hours !!!EVERYONE was super nice, very informative, GREAT exhibits & we just had a fantastic day !!!!Thank you VERY much to everyone !!!We will visit again soon !!!
This is a very nice and well maintained museum. They have guides that can answer your questions while inside, or you can tour on your own. We took a ton of pictures and learned a lot. Highly suggest for families. My 4 year old stayed entertained by their interactive exhibits without too much prompting.
$8.70 after tax admission. Plan on 3 hours if youre a reader, 1 hour minimum. Walk-up is possible, online pre-purchase tickets preferred. Definitely kid friendly. Lots of touch things for them, so if youre concerned about Covid-19 or other diseases, be prepared. Some amazing Mississippian culture items (wish there was more information about the artifacts), dinosaurs, Clovis people items.
The Sam Noble museum was a fun afternoon outing. Took us about 1.5 hours to move through the exhibits with a childs patience level. I am looking forward to an opportunity to return and read all the information we glossed over. Like most of the Native American history section, and much of the Oklahoma animal details. Of course we spent most of the day pouring over the Dinosaur sections.
Exceptional museum! My kids (8 and 13) even had a great time (wasnt super sure heading in to it). Very reasonably priced, they even have special pricing for veterans and their family. The staff went above and beyond, and loaned us a stroller for our 8 month old. My wife went to ask if they had some to rent, and they came back with one that we could borrow, and were insured it had been sanitized before being allowed to be used again. Th exhibits were great with lots to learn. Several times they would tie parts in to Oklahoma specifically. They had a special event set up about nocturnal animals that was really cool. Well be looking forward to more special events.
Very nice museum. Had great specimens and made their exhibits very detailed. You xan tell they took a lot of time and care in what they present. One area was closesed with no reason posted on the web site or at the site though. Thats the only reason for 4 stars.
If your kids are 5 and under, don’t bring them. They had a great play area a few months back, perfect for younger kids. But when I brought my kids back today, it was replaced by another walk-through exhibit. I didn’t last more than an hour in the museum with my 2 young kids. Just not enough interactive stuff for them. Also the last 2 times we have gone, the kids “Discovery Zone” has been closed.
Not a huge museum and a lot of stuff is dated/old/boring. For me it was a great place to take the kids to see some awesome dinosaur bones. Without a three year old I would have liked to have spent some more time in the Native American exhibit.
Great place for the family. Love that they encourage masks, as well. It makes it a great place for immunodeficient folks like me to enjoy something outside of our homes.
Great museum, very reasonably priced. Great time for a family with children of all ages. Very informative, if you have a kid that likes dinosaurs this is a must see for you they will love it.
Truly beyond all expectations. On our two days trip to Oklahoma, we were pondering over places we wanted to visit to get maximum out of our stay. We chose this place and it was worth. The presentation, collections, and meticulous placement are too good. I think it is a must visit specially if you have school going kids.
Tons of touch exhibits that our daughter enjoyed. I swear around every corner we turned she squeeled at the next site. Also thoroughly enjoyed the free entry as a vet and discount for my family.
Did you know the largest skull of any land animal ever found is on display in Norman, Oklahoma? The Pentaceratops skull was found in San Juan County, New Mexico, and measures 10 1/2 feet high!We had so much fun on our visit. Something for everyone to look at and in our group, we had all ages ranging from 8 to 79. The dinosaurs were probably the best part and I really enjoy enjoyed the natural Oklahoma habitat area. Fun way to spend the afternoon and it’s nice to get out of the weather.*OU Students & alumni get in free so bring something to verify it 👍🏻
Very cool and interesting my kids all loved it ages two all the way up to age 15 everybody enjoyed this place very awesome and would recommend.
Like the city zoo in OK city the sam noble museum is one of my favorite places Ive been going there since I was a little kid and Im a huge fan when it comes to Dinosaurs and I like it a lot.
Beautiful facility. Super kid friendly, but plenty of good printed information to keep older folks on the hook as well.
We had such a great time here! Our favorite exhibit was the dinosaurs. There is a discovery room with lots of hands on fossils and toys for the kids. There is a cafe and a gift shop and restrooms on the 1st floor. There is a 2nd floor accessible by stairs or elevator. There are people in some of the rooms available to answer questions. The gentleman in the dinosaur room was very informative. Most of the dinosaur displays are made from the real bones. And all of the bones behind glass are real.
I always enjoy going here and seeing the wonderful displays. Definitely a good place for all ages to just look around and enjoy themselves.
This place seems to understand. They get it, when it comes to a museum that educates adjunct to a university. They are missing a golden opportunity to have a restaurant called Darwins instead of a closed snack bar. This could be a science place for adults to have decent coffee or wine with a good meal and talk about science.
Great place to get out of the heat! We really enjoyed the displays.
I am feeling much better and.lighter. Who knew you could lose weight by not using your head. My Daddy said i rarely used mine.
Exhibits well created and presented with great care. Ancillary program was excellent.
Remarkable displays. Very friendly personnel. Great family attraction.
A hidden trearsue for the state of Oklahoma and the local university. The place charts the majority of history for the state including dinosaurs, prehistoric plants, and sharks. You will be surprised at the number of ecosystems found in Oklahoma and the diversity of plants and animals. The museums display of Native American curlers is spectacular. They have one of the definitive collections of Native American tools in the nation. All ages will find this an exciting and highly educational stops.
Loved the dinosaur bones exhibit! There could be more moving things in the dioramas, the occasional bit of movement in the exhibits is charming, I wish there was a bit more.
Awesome sauce this place is!!
Daughter wanted to go here because of the dinosaurs and she wasnt disappointed. Definitely recommend for any dinosaur lovers.
I cannot sing the praises of this museum enough! As a single parent, it is especially challenging to find good ways for my son and I to spend our free time that 1. Are worth our time, and 2. Fit into the budget. I have consistently had a membership here, and my boy and I love it! The fees are very affordable. The museum itself is really wonderful. Endless educational opportunities, plus they have some great seasonal exhibits and programs. I love that we can bring friends with us on our membership, too. No complaints, we absolutely love the Sam Noble Museum!
We used to frequent the Stovall Museum as kids. This is a very nice, very modern upgrade to that one. Nicely designed and very clean. Many interactive sections for kids. Entry fee was very reasonable. Nice discounts with museum membership. The Dino-vator was one of our favourites!
The kids always love coming here. It is a wonderful museum. The staff are always friendly.
Awesome exhibits! Interactive. Kids loved it
Love coming here. It had been a couple of years and i was excited to go again. The dinosaur displays are the big draw and will worth it. But there is so much more. Indigenous Oklahoma wildlife exhibit. Earliest humans and native American displays. Not just dull text but real artifacts. Clear explanations of each item. It is amazing! With the current restrictions all visitors must pre-register and masks are required at all times. But it doesnt interfere with the overall experience. Cant wait for the new exhibit at the end of January. Im certainly coming back for that. Five stars
Very good dinosaur and Native American exhibits. Good trip for children of all ages and adults.
Outstanding experience with 3 year old grandson! Excellent educational displays. Very friendly staff.
Absolutely loved this place! Definitely going back
My only complaint is Im worn out. Lots of interesting exhibits. Many are interactive, so great for kids.
One of the most interesting musuems in the city! Super educational and a great place for kids and families.
What a fabulous museum! Im not usually a fan of museums, I usually find them boring, but this was very well done! We saw the Megaladon exhibit because my son is obsessed currently, but it was just fabulous! We saw the whole museum and my 4 year old never lost interest! Its a must see!
I always love coming here. I love learning about the past, both the dinosaurs and about the history of my ancestors.
Great place to take 4 year old who loves dinosaurs.
Amazing museum, great interactive tools for kids, inexpensive, student and military veteran friendly.
Walked in the front door and was charged by a security guard telling me I had to leave, that they were closed for cleaning(mid day). I dont know why this rent a cop thinks shes important but she needs some hormone therapy. Then a staff member came up and was trying to be nice but I will not be giving this museum my money. The extreme covid protocols are complete BS.
Pre-COVID, I loved taking my nannying kiddo. We hadn’t gone since before the pandemic, but I wanted to go before the end of school. There are still online reservations, but we had no problems getting in that day. Because of the enhanced cleaning practices, we felt safe going and enjoying that little bit of normal as we saw exhibits and pressed all of the buttons. I also appreciate that it is free for both OU students and kids under 3. Highly recommend!
Great exhibits and a wonderful place to learn. The museum had a good emphasis on Oklahoma, but also had some great dinosaur skeletons to look over. Wasnt too crowded, just right. Loved it!
One of my familys favorite places! My child loved camp as well.
It was an awesome few hours of entertainment and information
Great museum, very fun and very clean! Loved it!
My kids loved it as a cheaper, more accessible alternative to the Science Museum. Though there is quite a bit less to do comparatively, its a similar quality of educational entertainment and the whole experience is approachable enough that my kids only started losing interest at the very end. Its perfect!
SO MUCH INFORMATION!! Like drinking physical history from a fire hydrant. Tremendous treasure and well worth the effort and time to visit. Great for all ages.
This is by far the best dinosaur exhibit I have seen in my life. Awe-inspiring. Be sure to get to Norman before this rotating display goes extinct.
Loved the Native American exhibit. Also, cool gift shop.
Lots of dino bones and filled with remains of prehistoric animals which once roamed the Oklahoma plains. They also have exhibits of the very large Indian cultures that once lived there and in some areas still have ancestral decendancts still do.This museum is located on the campus of Oklahoma State University. This was an amazing afternoon spent here! They will also give you a guided tour of the museum.
One of the best museums I’ve ever been to!
Great job nice collection good for children
Awesome museum full of Oklahomas rich Natural History... and DINOSAURS!This is an excellent, kid friendly (tons of stuff that encourages interaction), wonderfully laid out collection.
Wonderful museum and my favorite gift shop.
Kerr Auditorium - inside the Museum. Very cozy. All seats good. 200 people.
So much fun!!! Cant wait for the rock exhibit to open up in the fall!!!
Loved this museum. So close to where I live. Will be back again
Great afternoon worth the reasonable admission prices.
What a great spot for a wedding reception. Very large space to accommodate many people and very cool stuff to check out.
Cool place to take the kids to learn a few things about Oklahoma.
Ive been going to this museum since I was a little girl. Ive seen it develop and grow over many years and Im so proud of this museum. Ive been to the Museum of Natural History in NYC and whereas this museum isnt as massive, its still awesome to go to. From dinosaurs to natural Oklahoman plants and animals to American Indians, this museum is great for learning and seeing new things. Lots of interactive exhibits for all ages. They have great events here too for everyone to come and have a blast. They also do birthdays. 👌
My wifes family is from Houston and Norman Oklahoma in 2016 I had the privilege of meeting my extended family members and we got a very big tour of Norman Oklahoma and the Sam Noble Museum was by far my favorite thing to see Im from Chicago Illinois and if youve ever been up here on the North then youll know what the field museum is my first time seeing that Brachiosaurus it was so breathtaking it brought me back to my childhood and my love for dinosaurs this is by far my favorite museum Ive ever been to in my five-year-old and eight-year-old loved every second of being here thank you to the staff and to everyone that made it a magical experience for us
This is a beautiful museum that has lots to do. Gorgeous location, friendly staff, great for kids!
Always a great experience and something new every time we visit
Best place with grandchildren! Love inch of the floor.
Educational! Yet if ya really want the truth read the Bible to know how old the earth really is
Nice and interesting museum. With some interactive parts and real size of extinct creatures. It was a good experience :)
Reasonably priced. Good for kids. Educational. Thumbs up from Olly
Fun afternoon museum for adults and children. On Monday kids get in free, bonus! The new megalodon exhibit was fun.
An awesome place to take children to in order to teach them about animals of the past particularly dinosaurs! Ideal for adults too whore interested in history. Must visit. The largest dinosaur skull is also placed in this museum!
My grandson loved the dinosaur exhibits!
Fun place. Spent a couple hours. Kids love the dinosaurs.
You want to make a dinosaur fan happy? Come here. Seeing every aspect of local geology and phylogeny is a joy. My son is always eager to come back.
What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon for people of all ages! The immersive displays are world class. Everyone in my family had a great time and learned so much. Definitely give yourself three hours to see it all. The cafe is very hit or miss if you plan on eating lunch here, which is my only criticism.
