Literal garbage service center. Waited 45 min for 1 stamp because 2 workers wanted to just ignore me standing right in front of the register as their talking about numbers and stuff. I stood there looking stupid for about 45 minutes. If I could give it a 0 star I would. I even sat on the floor I was waiting so long. Never again. Going to Walgreens from now on. First and last time going to office max.
Trash. Staff is rude and don’t want to help anyone. There was an older lady in there who didn’t know how to use the copy machine get completely disregarded by a female staff member so I had to help her. Stay away from this place if you can. Would give negative stars if possible.
Randy is extremely knowledgeable and professional, helping me with setting up a rewards membership along with my purchase as well as getting me set up with a protection plan for my newly purchased merchandise! Definitely a great employee, Office Max is very lucky to have an enthusiastic employee on their staff...especially during covid where a lot of people could care less or are living completely off government aid
Copy center personnel try their level best, but lack the proper training to run this challenging department. When copy quality matters, go to OfficeMax at Greenbrier in Chesapeake!
Worst customer service in my life. Just left OfficeMax at Janaf. I ask employee there to help me with fax 4 times. He ask he if I could read. I was so up set leaving there. This OfficeMax deserve no stars.He was standing there doing nothing.
Just left the Janaf location. Michael at print was condescending and had no customer service skills. I was having trouble printing a label at the self service counter (I was able to print other documents without any issues). After some time trying to figure out why I couldn’t print, I decided to go to full service so the other customers behind me can use the self service machines. Michael was at the counter and already seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Nevertheless, I explained to him I was having a difficult time printing and asked if I could just send him the label so he print it for me. He said “I can’t because I have other print jobs for other customers waiting” all while he was folding the same box since I was printing at the self service machine. Then he talked down to me as if I didn’t know how to open my email, download an attachment and tried to tell me the difference between safari and an app - which I know very well the difference and am not tech handicapped. For approximately 10 minutes he just kept telling me what was wrong and insisted on not printing my label. I mentioned to him after 10 minutes of him trying to insult my intelligence that he could have already printed my label. I called the Pembroke location (the store I normally visit) and the manager was more than willing to print my label. I decided to call the manager at Janaf. Sharon was very nice and offered to print my label and apologized about Michael. Businesses need repeat business from loyal customers - Janaf either needs to replace or retrain Michael. However, I think it’s difficult to train kindness to staff. You either are or you’re not.
I just walk through the entire store, not one employee greeted me, much less asked if I needed help. I guess I will go to a different company to get my office supplies.
This was my first time at OfficeMax on E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA. It was truly one of the best Office supply stores that Ive visited. The service was outstanding. I would like to commend the associate Jay who works in the printing area. I am not savvy with printers and technical things but was assisted by this gentleman. He helped me in a professional manner and I was able to get everything that I needed done in a timely fashion. This young man deserves to be promoted to a lead or supervisor. He is knowledgeable with the equipment and best of all he understands customer service. Kudos! to you Jay keep up the good work!!
Trash I bought a computer part for my computer it didnt work so I returned it within 2 hours and this rude lady said no we have new rules because of Covid. And wouldnt let me return it. Which she of course failed to explain when I bought it.
The service was poor and there were not enough machine to accommodate the high volume of customers . Myself and another customer were waiting in line when the employee Michael asked the person who just walked up could he help her . myself and the other customer asked for help he explained he had 9 orders so he could not be helpful . The other customer left . I printed the bare minimum at the time due to being in a rush. Later that dayI went to fedex printing 2 mins away . Their service was great . It was slightly higher but it was cleaner and the service was fantastic .
This place has really cornered the market on dysfunction. It looks and feels like it should be condemned. They have hired full-time smokers who occasionally take breaks to look at sales and printing equipment that obviously confounds them. Calling the telephone number impressively creates a tear in the fabric of the universe where time, space, and service no longer have meaning. The entire experience makes one doubt the existence of of a benevolent god.
Customer Service was great! Very helpful with questions I had, & very helpful when I couldnt find what I was looking for. Cashier was also helpful with bringing up my rewards coupon. My visit was very pleasant!
Robin, the store associate, went above and beyond to help me at closing time. She was knowledgeable about her products and was so helpful in locating exactly what I needed.
I was charged $4.68 plus tax to fax 2 pages to an out of state number. Ridiculous. I had no choice but to use the service. Never again. What a rip off!
Bought $35 cartridge for printer last month. Wouldnt work.I saw it was dated 2015 and too old to work!Took it back. Had to wait 15 minutes behind customers that were purchasing items. Only one cashier and 2 in the copy department with no customers.Credit of $25 because of my promotion coupon. Then tried to charge me $35 for new cartridge plus commented I bought it at the Chesapeake store and this was Norfolk?Teller had to get the manager to complete the transaction. Took 15 minutes to get the refund. and repurchase after waiting 15 minutes and implied I was being rude. I was merely straightforward and explained they sold me a bad cartridge then took half hour and tried to overcharge me. In business 40 years and spent many $ there-will look elsewhere.
The best customer service I have had for a long time. Please come see Taylor Hoag at the customer service desk. Very helpful young man who went out his way to help me as well as other customers. Very inviting, professional, and knowledgeable. He definitely earned his pay check. I will surely come back again!
0/2. Would not recommend this printer. Go to minute man press in downtown Norfolk.This place has screwed up two printing orders of mine. One was my wedding announcements, which despite being told they would be finished, we’re not finished on time, or within a reasonable time after the due date. The second was a banner, which was very simple. It was supposed to be ready Thursday, but they had paper jam issues. Then Friday they had queueing issues. Then Saturday the store kept giving me the run around...it would be ready at 1030...it wasn’t. Then it would be ready at noon...it wasn’t.But I did buy some very nice business card holders here which work great for board games.
Do not go to this location for their print services. Highly recommend the Hilltop store instead.

Came in to buy a new laser printer toner cartridge, the 27X was almost $200! A quick search on amazon found the same model for $67, the manager was happy to price match it. Thank goodness!
Though they didnt have what I was looking for, staff helped me find great alternatives.
Had a workbook printed, $35 later and although service was fast (next day), the book is backwards. Table of contents and introduction are the last pages and the last page is now the first page. Easy mistake except the girl at the counter acted as if it should be no big deal and I should just deal with my $35 backwards book. I asked if it could be reprinted and she stated it would be another day, mind you I didnt get anything special. I kept the book and will deal with it so I dont have to deal with the lack of service in this place. I will go elsewhere from now on.
Store looks old compared to the other locations, a face lift would not be the worse thing. Service was great every one was friendly and ready to share a laugh. Ask for Claude, fun and exciting rep. New to the store but very friendly personality. Would not stop helping me until I got everything I needed and things I did not know I needed.
Angel could use an attitude check 🤨 but Erin is the bomb! Erin really went above and beyond dispite The fact that it was the end of her shift and past closing time. Horrible customer service.I submitted a small print order online this morning. I did not hear anything from them (as I requested on their website) regarding the completion status. I called to ask, sat on hold for 18 minutes, was transferred to three different people and did not get an answer. In the meantime, got in my car and drove down to the store (still on hold). The order was not ready (only four sheets of paper that needed to be printed) . I was told to wait five minutes while they changed the fuses on the printer. While I was waiting, I couldnt help bunch notice a half dozen employees wandering around aimlessly, twirling their keys. Apparently it would have been too much trouble to pick up the phone and help a customer. Ive now waited in store for thirty minutes, its still not ready and now the employees are reading the manual on how to operate their own equipment. You cant make this stuff up. I will not be a repeat customer.
Typical Office Max. Impossible to find anyone willing to help you and the only reason why it deserves three stars is because of the customer service at the checkout. I checked the inventory of the store online before I drove to the store location where they told me they were out of the product I was looking for. After two employees and then a shift manager checked, I was informed they did have the folders I needed, but later recanted their statement stating they couldnt find them because they were still packed on the pallet from the delivery earlier that morning. This is the second time this has happened with this location.
Straightforward in and out looking for a calculator. Cashier was very nice, polite and conversational, but no one else acknowledged us. Only other complaint is the price, though I fear I had no or not much choice in the matter. No other store had what I needed for class.
The staff was very helpful and greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. Helped me find exactly what i was looking for and the store was very clean and well kept.

Absolutely worst customer experience. Dropped off a job for photocopying Friday. Told it would be done same day. Came back - not ready told to come in on Saturday morning to pick it up. Came Saturday afternoon - not ready and could not give an estimate of ready time for pickup. Then the Tall middle aged man with dreads (did not get his name) said he needed to use the bathroom mid conversation and did not come back. Pathetic.
Well, our interaction was with the print department. My mother and I came to do some scanning and faxing for some paperwork and one of the print guys was very nice and patient. However, the other guy with the locs was extremely impatient and seemed liked every little thing we said to him bothered him. He was rude to my mother and I and did not seem like he wanted to help. My mother called the manager to make a complaint and the manager said that they are busy so that is why, My mother said that is no excuse to be rude to a customer.

I think it’s very stupid that online I go price things like how much it would cost for color copies online it said 42cent and in store my wife goes to make copies and the woman that works their told her that oh you have to order it online for it to be 42 cent. I think it is stupid for you not to just give her the copies for 42 cents when online you offer that!Fix it

I called yesterday at 8:30 pm Dec 20 2016. and ask for the Printing Department. After 11 minutes waiting on the phone, they hung up.I called again today, asked for the Printing Department, they put me on hold, 1:05 pm. After 16 minutes, I am still waiting so I decided to post a review here so I do not feel like it is a complete waist of time. :) I hope somebody from corporate will review it...19 minutes and counting...21 minutes... by the way,...is there a Printing Department?

Painfully horrible. I called at 8am to get the email address to send a pdf file for wide format printing. Called at 3pm to verify it was ready, it was not. Stopped in at 630pm and waited too long for help. No one ever acknowledged me waiting. I had to flag down a staff member to help me. Turns out my job was never printed and had to wait for it to print then cash out. I didnt leave until 710pm

I use this Office Max for the business I work for. The store has many basic items, however, online shopping and free shipping has helped us get the items we need that the store doesnt carry in about a day or two.

Print labels are kept in one to three places dependng on who you ask. That they are kept in more than one place is a secret from store clerks.
