Amanda has cut my son’s hair twice. She is very kind, patient, and pays attention to detail. I would recommend her 100%! She’s also cut my husband’s hair and did a great job.The shop is cool-nice environment. Everyone has been friendly!

Took me a while to find a good barbershop but I found it! This shop is full of talented barbers. Ive never seen anyone walk out with a bad haircut, just tight fades! The option to set up appointments is great, most shops are walk in and youd end up waiting hours for the barber you wanted. Plus the fact that they take card! It was annoying having to get cash for some other shops. All the barbers are respectful and listen to give you exactly what you want as well as funny and friendly to make your time in the chair even more enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend this shop to anyone in the area looking to get a good haircut!

My husband has been here twice. First time was great, he made an appointment in advance, had a great experience in the shop, and was out in 15 minutes with a quality cut and long beard trim. Since he was in and out the last time he decided to try a walk in today. MISTAKE. The barber that took care of him wanted my husband to give precise specifics on how he wanted his hair and beard to look, down to the cutting implements that should be used. A simple guy, his request to reduce his hair and beard by at least half seemed sufficient. The barber wanted more info still, and then complained that a cut would hold him up, and didnt want to keep the walk ins that came in after waiting since the barber identified himself as the only one accepting walk in clients. The session felt rushed, and he left with a cut he could have given himself. Bummer! Ill make his appointments from now on to avoid getting an earful on another potential disappointing walk in experience.

I’ve been getting my haircut by Bryce (Lurch in the appointments section of their site) here for over 6 months. He’s always on time and ready to go when it’s time for my appointment. He listens to my concerns and helps me get the haircut I want. His cuts are quality and consistent which is important.Only downside is it’s a haul from me but that’s my problem, not theirs. I willingly drive 35 minutes one way to go to Lionshead for Bryce (Lurch). The atmosphere is great with some unique horror movie or documentary on the TV and plenty of cool stuff to look at on the walls.Give em a try. The appointment system on the site is simple and reliable.

Ive been going to Avery for almost a year now for haircuts and she kills it. She does the sickest mullets and overall outstanding job and I wouldnt trust anyone else with this lettuce. The whole crew at Lionshead is really chill and really good at what they do. Always good tunes playing too. Highly recommend.

I love this shop — the quality hair cuts, the great people and the awesome vibe. During the pandemic I needed a safe place to get a hair cut. The folks at Lionshead were masked up and ready to go. I scheduled with Bryce (Lurch) and was not disappointed. My COVID beard needed some love and a new style. Also wanted to change up my hair style a bit. Bryce listened, gave some great suggestions and delivered. He’s my go-to guy now and every cut and beard trim is excellent. Give him — and Lionshead — a try!

I followed Bryce/Lurch from his last place to Lionshead, hes the only barber Ill trust with my hair, and now both of my sons as well. Ive never walked out of this place disappointed. We love this shop; the art, the music, and the people all create an awesome, inclusive atmosphere. The online reservations system makes life easy, and we recently took advantage of the Early Morning option to get cuts before the school day, which worked out great. We actually live about 30 min away from the Ocean View location, but its worth the drive, no where in between can beat Lionshead.

I took my brother here for his first cut by Aaron in a long time during the COVID pandemic. They made the process very easy. He has Aspergers (a form of autism) and the staff took care of him with kindness and professionalism.I definitely recommend this Barber shop.

Offering haircut services and assisting with accepting donations to help those in need is not only what sets them apart as a business, but also as genuine and caring people.Ive had my haircut by a few of the different barbers in the shop, all of them phenomenal, but one barber in particular earned herself a devoted customer, and that is Avery. The quality of haircuts she has given me over the years have always gone above my expectations. When she shows me the fresh cut she just served up in the mirror I dont even look anymore, I trust her quality of work and know she wouldnt let me walk out of the shop looking like I got my haircut at the barbershop on base. Barbering skills aside, she is an extremely down to Earth person, easy to talk to, and a very understanding person. Me being the kind of guy who is typically running late to everything in life, the few occasions I was late to an appointment (oopsies) she was extremely understanding and accommodating, whereas other barbers Ive had in the past were much less forgiving. Visited here 3 years ago at a friends recommendation and havent been anywhere else since. Have fallen in love with the experience, the quality, and the people in this down to earth barber shop that has deep respect for its craft. Im a young professional, and even though this has more of a grunge/tattoo kinda vibe, I feel at home here, like all are welcome, and I always get incredible service.Id recommend making an appointment before you go, both of the owners - Aaron & Big John - are your best bet for consistent and professional excellence, but even as a walk-in every barber will hook you up and make you look fresh. BOTTOM LINE: If I could give 10 stars, I would.

You dont have to make an account and sign away your life, just put in your name and phone number. You can see where you are in the list from the link texted to you. By far the best barbershop I’ve ever used. Amanda was super friendly and very detailed in all of her work. Everyone else I spoke to at the shop while waiting was great, very open and accommodating atmosphere and couldn’t recommend it enough. Even though it’s a decent distance from my house, I’ll gladly go out of my way with how impressed I was with the service.

Lions head barbershop is a great place to get a haircut. The atmosphere is very fun and easy going but at the same time professional by all means. Bryce in particular cuts my hair and he does a great job. I’ve experimented with several styles and he has the skill set to accommodate a wide variety of hair cuts. 12/10 would recommend.

I hadnt tried this spot before but Im really glad I did --the staff were fun to talk to and very skilled at their work, and the cut was done for a fair price. Looking forward to coming back here again next time!

First off I hate leaving negative reviews.... but here I go.. First time to this location. Went off the reviews alone. Honestly I was not impressed. The facilities were clean. Made and appointment and didnt have to wait, that was nice. But the bad... $40 later for a simple bald cut and beard trim.The lines were noticeably different between the left and right. Neck wasnt cleaned up at all. Fade on ears uneven. Hair left everywhere. The cut reminded me of a supercuts haircut. Maybe Ill go back and try a different barbour, but Im not to sure....

Always a great atmosphere. Friendly staff, great music and aesthetically pleasing shop.Also, I used to have a medical concern when I would visit and I was still treated warmly and needed as the cost of kindness or quality of care.

Love this place. Found it by accident when I lived in Ocean View. I moved to Virginia Beach 4 months ago and tried several other places closer to my house, but all have failed by comparison and I gladly will make the trek to Lions Head. Great atmosphere and team. Ive had my haircut by 4 different people there and havent had a bad cut.

Lion’s Head is hands down the best barber in Hampton Roads. I tried a couple other places while I let my hair grow back out and no other place holds a candle to Lion’s Head. Fernando hooks me up every time. I’ve gotten random compliments on my haircut from people I don’t know. Dude even stopped me in the airport to let me know how good my haircut was. Don’t go anywhere else!

Really great people that take pride in there work. Its best to use the website and schedule your appointment because sometimes the wait can be long. The two years Ive been coming here there main clientele are men and boys, although I have seen a couple of women. All color races treated with respect. Never heard any off colored joking or profanity... kid safe barber. I have a long beard they keep looking good with an excellent line of beard products.

Been coming to Aaron for my cuts for about two years now. They are so consistent with their fades and cuts every time. Worth every penny! I love the atmosphere and culture John and them have created. They are the real deal, I would trust anyone in that place for a nice cut and fade. 🤙🏻 The best part I appreciate is their availability to open early and get you done. Came in on recommendation of a friend. Wait time for a walk in was nice and short. Asked the barber to fix up my beard and make it nice and neat which really was a hell of a job. Never walked out of this place unhappy. All the barbers are highly skilled and the atmosphere resembles a tattoo parlor. By far my favorite place to get a hair cut in Hampton roads. Tip: Some of the barbers are by appointment only while others do only walk ins, so make sure you sign into the tablet for if you go for a walk in.

By far my favorite barber shop in Norfolk. Great service and great people who happen to be barbers. Their website allows you to make appointments online so you dont have to worry about going in and waiting for a barber. In case you need a haircut asap and no one has any appointment slots open they accept walk ins so no worries. On the pricey side but its completely worth it.

Barbers are a dime in a dozen nowadays. But if you want the comfort of getting a really well done cut, trim, fade, etc. in an establishment that doesnt feel like some corporate shop... dont go anywhere else. These guys take the time to do it right every time. Ive tried about 6 barber shops before I found these guys here in Hampton roads. Now I wont go anywhere else. And their website!? Get out! So clean and clear, straight to the point, great presentation. No room for error. This place deserves 6 stars but google said I couldnt do that. And as everyone already knows, always tip your barber! So I was referred by a friend to check this place out..in particular the barber Andrew Kelly, I spot a Mohawk and I had let it go so it was over grown and rather to long on the top for my taste so I decided to give Lions Head a try and let me tell you, It was well worth the 20 min drive out to see Andrew! I was in and out of his chair quick, he did a fantastic job...razor sharp clean edges from front to back, the top is now even and spike ready for putting into the full on Mohawk style! I will continue to go back to Lions Head barbershop to see Andrew for my hair care needs. Hes one bad A$$ barber!!

This was my second time coming in for a cut and beard trim and I decided to bring my father with for one too. Just like both other times I met the guys, they greeted us with upbeat attitudes. One of the biggest reasons that will keep me coming back is the fact that only after seeing me one time, Alex remembered who I was. To me, that says everything about someones customer service skills and just overall personality. We only sat there for a few minutes before we were next. My dad was extremely impressed with the quality and quickness and welcoming environment.My dad and I will definitely be repeat customers for a long time.

Big John is my man, but the whole crew is great! The shop vibe and decor is classy and raw, reminds me of a tattoo shop but with Layrite instead of tattoo goo. They have homemade beard oils and products. And they are very connected to the local community.

Love this place literally come home from university in RI every once and a while just to get my hair cut.

They know how to cut hair, but just be sure you ask how questions on how they plan to line up your edges, hard part and cheek line (if you have a beard). They took my lines in way more than what needed to be done with out consulting with me, which ruined my beard and hard part was way too wide. It was unfortunate considering the premium price I paid.

This place is garbage. Definitely not worth it. One side of my head has hair 1 inch longer than the other. Maybe some people there know what theyre doing, but others dont. Unsure why this place ranks so high. So bad, I was compelled to sign up with Yelp to help others avoid the mistake I made. What kind of idiot run business would be OK with allowing a walking billboard to leave their barber shop with a terrible cut? Ill definitely do my best to keep people from being tricked by the good reviews online like I was.

Everytime I’ve been to Lionshead I have gotten exceptional service. I’ve been a walk-in a few times and made appointments a few times depending on my schedule. These Ladies and Gentlemen really know what they are doing with hair and beards. I’ve tried barbershops all over and love them, and I am extremely happy to have found my shop in Virginia.
