This is a great place to get your auto fixed. I was in Rhode Island for a visit and my car had sat for months there and the brakes became very rusted, and it was difficult to stop. We stopped at Sullivan Tire & Auto Service and they replace the brakes for me. The people there took really good care by explaining our car issue, answering questions, and being upfront about how long it would take to complete the job. I will definitely bring my car to Sullivan Tire and Auto Service when I am there for visits.

Visiting from NJ for a few days, I pick up a nail & slow leak somewhere along the way. Anthony at Sullivan tire was accommodating and had me out of there in 45 minutes with a repaired tire for $30. I took a few minutes to thank Patrick, the service technician, for fixing the tire and allowing my family to enjoy our vacation without any interruption.The waiting area was both large & clean. I even had a nice conversation with one of the local residents having a repair done. I also enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee.

Personable, understanding, accommodating and always does a professional job with great quality. Not to mention they always have a great price for their services and not many on the island will beat them. I highly recommend them.

Great service. Traveling for holidays, had a flat in PA. They squeezed me in on Monday, determined the tire couldnt be repaired, ordered a new tire. New tire on Wednesday. Spare re-stowed plus an oil change all for a reasonable price and headed back home.

I needed an oil change. They were able to get me in same-day and were super pleasant. I found a coupon on their website to help with the cost which was already reasonable. I will return in the future.

Hard to find trustworthy service shops, and the Newport Sullivan Tire is one of the reasons why. Avoid. They take advantage of those who seem to either not know enough about cars, or appear to have the money to spend. Ball joints, wheel bearings, brake rotors are an easy target, especially when you are trying to get an inspection done!The rumors about them are true, recently caught them lying myself! About my Check Engine light, about my wheel bearings, about my brakes. Guess they didnt count on me having my own OBD Diagnostic tool, having done my own brakes/rotors before and forgot that they had just done my wheel bearings 2 years ago. Oops! Just because I have a Land Rover doesnt mean I am rich, and it doesnt mean I dont know anything about cars.Be wary. If you choose to come here, get a second opinion before getting work done!

Don’t ever take your car here go to town fair tires like everyone does on the island. No one comes here so they charge you a arm and a leg to do stuff, guy takes my car leaves grease mark all over my CLOTHE seat and says it came in like that. Save your money and find someone else to do it.

I brought a tire with a nail stuck in the tread to Sullivans. Sullivan’s told me the tire could not be repaired, and I had to replace all 4 tires quoting me at $1,000. I then took the tire to Town Fair up the street for a second opinion, they not only mended the small nail hole, but quoted me less than $7 for the repair. They felt bad that I had to wait (did not wait long at all) that they even comped the $7 repair! Sullivans would have been $1000 and Town Fair it was free, and everyone was polite and a complete joy to deal with! I can’t recommend Town Fair enough. When it is actually time for me to replace my tires I will be going back to Town Fair. My only regret is that I didn’t go to Town Fair first and wasted a whole day leaving my car at Sullivans before they incorrectly told me the tire could not be mended, and tried to up sell me $1000 that I didn’t need to spend. It’s a good thing I got a second opinion! I don’t ever write reviews (this is only my second ever review - my first was to recommend Town Fair) but I wonder how many people Sullivans tells that their tires can’t be repaired. I want people to know about my experience and to make sure to get a second opinion...

I have gone to Sullivan for many years, but the last FEW times there always seemed to be something over $400.00 that needed to be fixed. My vehicle is a 2013 and I only put about 5,000-6,000 miles on it per year. This past time I was told I needed to spend a little over $750 in addition my oil change, alignment, and coolant flush, for a bushings replacement in order to pass my inspection. I was more surprised they didnt say anything about my battery that was on its way out and died several times after leaving their store. Im not a mechanic, but I seem to remember places letting me know when they werent in good shape. Regardless, since I had the time, I took my vehicle elsewhere for a second opinion and turns out my car was just fine... no expensive replacement necessary, only a new battery and my inspection passed no problem. I dont know if theyve changed management, or what, but unfortunately I no longer trust them with my vehicle. I did give them two stars though because I always appreciate their shuttle service while your car is in the shop.

Ive always dreaded taking my car in for any kind of service and Ive never had a regular mechanic that I felt I could trust. When I saw my inspection was due, and I new I needed new tires, and an oil change, I definitely started getting a little anxious. Two people had suggested I go to Sullivan, so I figured Id give it a shot. When I googled the business to get the phone number I was thrilled that I could make an appointment for everything I needed online! The appointment request process was very easy and super user friendly. The fact that the service request form allowed me to pick a date/time that was convenient for me was wonderful too. But Im a skeptic, so it wasnt until I received an email from Sarah Tomasino that I began to see how great the customer service really was. She was so quick to reach out to me and helped me choose the right size tires I needed. She was professional and kind. She even went as far to wish me a happy birthday, which I just thought was so sweet and personable. Anyway, I dropped my car off right on time and it was ready exactly when I was told it would be. So with all that said, I guess you can say I am extremely satisfied with my experience :)

On long trip, a couple of hours from home and our plastic skid shield was falling down, creating a loud wind tunnel sound on the highway. We thought it would fall all the way down, and would be dragging on the road. Sullivan Tire installed the missing push pins and didnt even charge for their time! Thank you!

Heading to an appointment on the Naval Base yesterday morning, I had one side of my track bar drop while bouncing across the bridge, pulled into their parking lot and thought I could fix it, just needed a cotter pin and a pair of pliers, they quickly provided both. I soon found out I couldnt do the repair, the threads were damaged too much, they sent someone right out and he was able to fix the issue, no charge. I would highly recommend, Customer Service and helpfulness doesnt get any better than that. Thanks again for helping me make my appointment!

Rude, inconsistent pricing. I asked what they did, two guys two different answers with a receipt that detailed nothing. For all I know my car has a new flux capacitor and my tire still leaks. Also they charged me 30 bucks. Tons of tire patches and they have all be approx 10 bucks.

Went there today for an alignment and inspection. I had an appointment and was told it would take about two hours. I was in and out in less then a hour 15 minutes. Nice waiting area where I could work. I would highly recommend Sullivan Tire

I walked into Sullivan tire asking for their next available appointment, and they took me immediately! Customer service was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. I dropped off a Kia Sorrento to get brakes, rotors, calipers replaced and brake system flushed. Their prices were very competitive and they had my car done the very next day!

This is the only place I take my car on the island. I feel like theyre very honest and I dont get the feeling theyre trying to take advantage of customers. One time I brought my car in and they told me to take it to a Lincoln dealership because there was a recall on a part and the work would be free. And dont let the name confuse you, theyre more than just tires - full service garage.

Despite the other bad reviews I found the mechanics here to be very professional. I found thier prices to be in line with other quotes I received and thier service was faster then they originally told me.

My brother-in-law arrived in town with a suspected slow leak on a new tire. Sullivans took his car in as soon as he arrived, an hour before they closed. After a full set of diagnostics, to include submerging the tire under water, they could not find a leak. 45 min later, the car was ready. I would highly recommend this location. Non-dealership repair shops that are trustworthy are hard to find.

!!!SCAM ALERT!!!DO NOT GO HERE !!!! SCAM ALERT!!!IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD First off I am an merchant marine engineer by trade and usually work on my own vehicles. I had surgery on my hand so I could not perform the repairs myself. I brought my truck to Sullivan tire for an inspection knowing full well what is wrong with it, not only am I mechanic but I also own my own scan tools. I called 2 days after drop off receiving no calls or updates from Sullivan only to be told that my truck needed around $2,500 of repairs!! I was told I needed 2 new ball joints (at $159ea., replaced 6 months ago), new rear brakes(replaced 4 months ago), 2 A-arms(at $296 each)an un-named steering suspension link at $800!! 2 hours of diagnostic scan tool labor at $135 per hr!($270 for those that dont know it takes all of 5-30 minutes to use even the most complex scan tool) and multiple other non-needed repairs and services. Not only is technition JOHN CAWLEY a scammer but so is Sullivan tire for letting it happen under their supervision!!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!Update**Dont waste your time with this company....For a company that takes these concerns very seriously they sure dont respond very well... I sent an email to the provided email adress with my name and number and email address more than a week ago. I was never called nor was I responded to by email. Apparently they DONT take scamming concerns very seriously. I stand by my previous review!!

We had an oil change done here since we didnt have the time to do the oil change ourselves. Car needed an oil change again. Went to drain the oil and the bolt to the oil plug had been tightened down with an impact gun. So the bolt was stripped and very difficult to remove. So my question is if we had went back to get an oil change would they have charged us with their mistake?

I had a rental car flat this weekend and the local tow reccomended Sullivan.It was Saturday morning and they were super polite, checked out my problem right away and when getting authorization from the rental car company to pay for a new tire that was obviously fixed before and leaking,they were on hold for about 45 mins, and still patient....Great place, clean and while my wait I only noticed happy clients going in and out. Very impressive, no idea where the bad reviews came from?

Horrible Customer service and after thousands spent my car is still not fixed!Ive been here a few times and the service sucks! The employees are rude as hell and the Manager JP Guerin is a real piece of work. He spoke down to me and my wife when all we had were simple questions about the work we wanted accomplished. He rushed us through our payment and suggested we go to another shop. Np JP, from now on we will make sure we never come here again and warn all of those seeking service to continue your search. Sullivan Tire in Newport is the biggest rip off on the island.They never fix anything here, all the service Ive received from this placed needed more work from a different mechanic to complete. I went in there 2 times or a check engine light and they gave me a shrug. Now Im back for my inspection and they want to charge me again to find out the cause of the check engine light. When I explained to JP (the same man from my last visit) he got rude with me and my wife and suggested we go to another place to fix my vehicle. Sound like good service to you? They didnt want to help us. They didnt want our business and the manager JP was the ring leader. I cant believe what I just experienced at this place. STAY AWAY! ESPECIALLY IF YOUR A MIINORITY

Went there for a crack in the sidewall of my tire. I believe the tire was defective because it happened sitting in my driveway and had low miles on it. They said I hit something and provided an inaccurate warranty report to Goodyear. I tried to explain, but they did not believe me and smirked. Highly dissatisfied. There is also Town Fair Tire, BJs Wholesale, Monroe Tire in the area.

Went in their thinking I had a hole in my tires, turns out it was my caps somehow pressing the pin releasing air. Just filled em up and changed caps free of charge

They put on my dummy spare and lost one of my tire nuts in the process. They cross threaded my bolt with some other nut so tightly that my car is now at a mechanics having a new bolt put on.They also said they couldnt patch the tire, but Costco patched and plugged it, no problem.STAY AWAY.
