Terrible customer service. Kinda sad they have monopolized this area which is primarily military. Our service members and their families deserve better.

Its been a while since Ive rode in a Cab but honestly nice great ppl the cab wasnt a Cadillac but it was nice for the drive and the convenience. At the end of the day its what really matters is the customer service was great!! Both on the phone and in the ride.

Called at 10:00 am to schedule a ride for a bachelorette party, making sure we got the cab ready. Was told back to call at 7:00 (an hour before we were going to be picked up), called back at 6:30 pm. But was told everything was scheduled at that time. We would have scheduled the cab at 10:00 to make sure we were on the schedule, which is what we were avoiding calling 6 hours ahead of time. Would never use again.

Unhelpful and Rude. Literally referred me to Uber, as if I would have even tried to call them if there had been any Ubers or Lyfts available.

Quickly Answered the phone and provided prompt and safe service to and from. Uber’s/lyft are impossible to get and so happy to have this service. Honestly surprised with the bad reviews as that was not our experience at all and had to show a positive review

Would give zero stars if that were an option. I was staying at the Navy Lodge on base and Orange Cab is the only taxi company allowed to pick up on base. Uber and Lyft are not allowed.First, I tried to call for an immediate pickup but was told there would be a 45 minute wait because they were too busy. Took four calls spread apart by about 5 to 10 minutes to even get dispatch on the line. Fine.Second, I tried to reserve a cab for to take me to the TF Green Airport two days later at around the same time they told me they werent for immediate pickup on the day of my call, and was told that they were not taking any reservations because of COVID-19, even though by contrast other businesses are requiring reservations because of COVID-19. They told me that I would have to try to get a taxi on the day of. When I mentioned that I cannot miss this flight because it is an outbound PCS flight and I have no other option because they are the only ones allowed on base, and that their website says you can book a taxi, dispatch was rude and unhelpful.Unreliable, rude, and nonsensical. And thats if dispatch even picks up in the first place.

You would think the only cab co with drivers who have base access to Naval Station would be better prepared. Know when the base is going to have graduation, be prepared with your drivers. Also the receptionist was rude at every question, no help or even a hint of respect for the customers. Do not use this business they are poorly run, and have no customer service.

Why are these people filing suit against ride share insinues like Uber when THEY DON’T ANSWER THE PHONE.

I called for a taxi to help pick my husband up from the airport and drive him onto the Naval Station in Newport. I was told that there would be someone available the day prior, “no problem” and to call back the next day. So I did, and a VERY rude woman was anything but helpful and made an already stressful situation, that much more annoying. Glad we never used the service if that’s how customers would be treated from the get-go. HARD PASS.

I had an awesome experience with a Ricky from Orange Cab who not only picked us up at 4am in Tiverton, Rhode Island but after we got dropped off my boy friend left his really nice shoes in the ride and he called me back the next day to let me know he was going to deliver them back to me in Texas! Amazing service definitely recommend Orange Cab!

Always on time! Cabs are spotlessly clean and the drivers are polite and so very nice to talk to. My favorite cab company by far!

Rude dispatcher, after giving her location on base and I quote “well can u get somewhere else? I have been doing this 10 years and I don’t know where that is” well apparently sitting around all day doesn’t make u an expert When I’m quite certain this building has been here 50 plus years.

Dispatcher was and is incredibly rude. While every driver Ive encountered were more than acceptable. With the popularity of ride-sharing and its less expensive pricing one would think orange cab of Newport would step up their act.The dispatcher is the first point of contact and should not have a surly attitude for no reason what so ever. The tone and shortness that I encountered was completely unnecessary. This review reflects the late night dispatcher. He was so rude that I am going out of my way to leave this review.There will not be a next time with this company, ever...

Havent taken a ride with them and wont after my experience today. A Newport Cab made an illegal U-turn across 4 lanes of traffic in front of me on RI 138, then came back into my lane, forcing me into oncoming traffic (which thankfully stopped). Cab then pulled a left on red through a busy intersection..Best stick with Uber...

Took an Uber from the airport to Newport and it was $41. Took and Orange Taxi back to the airport from Newport and the fare was $100. After paying I called the company to confirm the fare - it’s the most I’ve ever paid for a taxi ever (I travel all the time). I pointed out the difference between Uber and their fare. The company representative’s response? “Well, call Uber next time!” I absolutely intend to follow her advice. Real classy.

Worst Cab and Customer Service. I called for a cab. They told me 20 minutes. I waited an hour. I called them back and they told me someone came and left. I asked why didn’t they call me and the man was rude and didn’t give me an answer or even an apology for not communicating. I will not be using the service again.

Late night dispatch driver very rude. Does not give accurate pick up times and hangs up on you when you ask what the problem is.

I have used Orange Cab four or five times in the last three weeks and the drivers and operators have always been friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Give the local cab a try over some app.

We are out of state so we came in from the train, no Uber or Lyft would come out to pick us up so we called this cab service. We were picked up and the driver was very kind and told us a lot about the area: where to eat, where to visit, etc.

Extremely long wait times. Drivers not know what their doing it where their going. Wouldnt let me explain where I was trying to get to, or where I was. Driver was distracted while eating almost rear-ending every car in front of us. Paid however they didnt let me sign or make sure about was correct. Gave themselves a hefty tip.

Quick service, friendly driver, was able to make my flight when no Uber was available! Thank you Orange Cab :)

I asked for a cab at 3:20 yesterday and he said 5-10 minutes, once 20 minutes past I was already frustrated then once 40 minutes past I called the operator. He said a couple more minutes mam and 20 more passed and they never showed up!😡 I was waiting for more than 1 hour and they never came and had to walk more than 6 miles to work and was more than 1 hour late ... 😡😡😡

Driver professional, courteous & friendly. Operation however is the worst. Phone service rude & dispatching a nightmare. Whatever wait time they tell you.....be sure to double it.

Reserved an Orange Cab for pick up at the Kingston (Amtrak) station and the car was ready and waiting. Took me to my destination without issue. Another taxi service that I called first said I needed to reserve well in advance on a holiday weekend and I was out of luck. Not true with Orange Cab.

They dont even answer the phone for their own drivers. Doreen is great but their taxi service is awful.

Terrible service!! Waited an hour for a cab after the guy told me it’d be 45 minutes only to call him back and hear the cab is in Cranston and it’d be another whole hour!! NEVER go to them unless you wanna be left out in the cold for 2 hours!!

Never available like what’s the reason of even having any taxi service in Newport if your either never available to people or two just stop answering phones?

Worse cab company on the island i dont understand how they are still in service the drivers are nice i feel bad for them but the prices for a ride is more than unacceptable the island is only so big its not a city why are you charging city prices
