Please dont do it. Took my Dads car there for service on a Thursday, got it back on Monday. Dash light still on, so called mechanic said they had driven the car and couldnt find anything wrong with it. Pep boys pulled a code that said sensor problem. That was the reason for the Dash light being illuminated. The reason we took it there for service. Basically they burned out a half tank of gas, and we got the car back with a I cant find anything wrong with it! Dont do it!!!!!!
It is Nightmare what is experienced in my life we never recommend it to anybody unprofessional I had a transmission rebuild their picked up the car transmission one night shift for weeks and he still did not repair my transmission and he already got paid for his money never use this place again
AVOID THIS PLACE! I wish I would’ve checked here first, but silly me checked the Better Business Bureau instead! It’s a shame that our community is subjected to this sham of a “business!” An explanation of the issues I had with this place would only be repeating most, if not all, of the complaints noted by other negative reviews.
My problem began when I had to take my vehicle to this shop July 29th The first lie was when he told me that if I dropped it off on Friday he wouldn’t get to it until Monday. I called him Tuesday asking for an update and he told me “we looked at it Friday and I tried to get in contact with the warranty provider and no one has been answering” so I waited until that Thursday to call again and then he said “I have been waiting for them to ok me taking your transmission apart to find the actual problem.” I then called him the Monday the 9th looking for another update and he stated “ I got in contact with them and told them it needs a complete rebuild or let them supply a unit but it’s about 10 days before it comes in, I told him I wanted the supplied unit and that’s when he said “ok I’ll let them know” and hung up. I WAITED 10 business days and I called again and he said he had to call to get an eta, I called also and they said they haven heard from him since august 6. Never going back
Didnt have my vehicle taken there for my new Transit mission.. maybe I should have because mine is still in a competitor shop over a week and a half now waiting for my transmission to arrive.. a jasper.. this has caused me a great deal of inconvenience and stress being that this was my well taken care of personal and work truck so I am semi-stranded and depending on co-workers for a ride..
McCartys transmission services has amazing service! My car has been having so many problems within the past month and Glen has helped me with every single issue Ive had. Being a college student, having car problems made me extremely anxious but Glen helped me feel like my car was in great hands (which it was!!). He answered all of my questions and he was able to fix every problem my car had. Glen was beyond helpful, going way out of his way to ensure my car is safe and to make sure I was comfortable. I cant thank McCartys enough for all of their help. Thank you!!!!!
Do yourself a favor, find another transmission shop. Too many issues to mention. Just trust me, and thank me later. They may be out of business by the time you read this.
Staff very professional & timely; specifically Ron and Glen. I’ve taken my vehicle here 3 separate occasions in past 5 years and each time given fair quote and thankfully paid less. They have had my car ready and on time. They even called a few days later to follow up and make sure everything was running smooth. When I didn’t have a ride they would drop me off & pick me up from work. Would highly recommend!

I took my car to McCarty on 4/22/21 for repair. To date 5/28/21, no resolve. I still do not have my car. He initially told me my car would be fixed in six days. Every time I call he tells me my car will be ready tomorrow. That has been going on for weeks now. He said he has rebuilt transmission and car is not running/preforming much better than when I brought it in for repair. No expectations set by/from Ronnie as to when my car will be ready. It appears that he cannot fix the car. It appears he does not know what is wrong with my car. Please people don’t be fooled by that A+ rating, and forty years experience. Customers gives McCarty a 3.8 rating. Read reviews first.
I was having some issues with my transmission in my 2006 G6. Decided to take it here for servicing, after reading the reviews. I have to say they were excellent. I was prepared to leave it for the day but they said i could wait. Which was great. They were reasonably priced and now my transmission seems alot better. They treated me with respect, very informative and professional. They heard my concerns and addressed them immediately. They are now my automotive shop not just for transmission issues but my engine needs too. Already referred my daughter to them and my Mum, which says alot!
They fixed my jeep transfer case in a week. No more noise. Im so happy now onto some wheeling. Thank you
They brought a customers vehicle to us to fix and was here almost two months before multi calls to have it picked up and paid. They paid by check and just found out they stopped payment on the check and still owe over $1400. I called to speak to them about this and very rude and disrespectful and hung up on me as if I did something wrong! One I feel bad how long we had the customers vehicle when it had been done the entire time and McCarthys would not come pick it up. Two now they owe on their bill!! I would not use, recommend or suggest!
Ronnie is so great to work with! We took our van in yesterday afternoon for a strange noise. He drove it for just a few minutes and knew exactly what it was. He fixed it in an hour this morning. He is always accommodating and always fair. Just a nice man and a great business!!! Love the comfy waiting room!!
Took my truck into this mans shop over 3 weeks ago with what I was worried was a transmission issue. I was told it was a ball joint issue, had him repair it and paid roughly $600 dollars for the job. After leaving the shop I was still experiencing some of the same issues so I returned with my vehicle to have it looked over again. I was quoted close to $1000 for a few other rear end issues that needed to be fixed. I went ahead and told him lets fix it. After getting the run around for 2.5 weeks today I was told it was finished. Not only do I feel like nothing was ever done on it the owner was extremely rude, unprofessional when I asked once again for him to take a ride with me so I could point out what I was still feeling. Im a mom with a newborn baby and 3 kids I have to safely transport to and from appts. $1700 dollars later and I can say I am FAR FROM SATISFIED!!
Wonderful place! I 100% recommend McCarty’s! Great people, atmosphere, and business! From the get go they were so helpful when many other businesses were not. They really helped us out and treated us right! We will definitely be returning customers!

My transmission went out suddenly on my SUV. My dad recommended McCarty’s to me. I called and spoke to Ronnie. He had me towed right in and my transmission was rebuilt and a brand new case and they had it done in 4 days!!!!!!!! Total professionalism and promises were kept! I would highly recommend their work and expertise!!!
My transmission unexpectedly needed to be repaired. McCartys came highly recommended and they did not disappoint! Being a woman and taking your car to a shop can be nerve racking because a lot of times you are treated differently. This never happened to me during any of my interactions with them. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. The guy who supposedly runs the shop Ronnie told me one price before doing my transmission, and told me a higher price when I came to get my vehicle, and lied. He also hung up on me, like I wasnt even a customer, when I was trying to explain what my vehicle was doing wrong, after they put in my transmission. Do waist your money with that shop. They do BAD business.
My transmission quit on my way to thier shop. They sent a tow truck to my aid. At the shop i got a quote quickly and it was very fair. I was pleased to find out they do more than transmissions... i knew i needed bearings and they gave me the best price of three estimates. The best part is that that all the personel were very pleasent to work with and i was treated with respect. They had my car ready in a few days as they promised and were patient with my frequent calls to see how it was coming along. I will use them in the future and i would definetly recommend their service.
They tried to fix my car that had several issues. Unfortunately I had to pick up the car. I asked how much do I owe. And the response was no charge we did not fix itI know that the shop spent several hours and money on materials on the car. Thank you very much...
I had a complete internal mechanical failure of the transmission. After calling around town, I found that several auto shops recommended McCartys. They were able to save me over $6K in repairs. It took longer than expected, but I am satisfied with the work and had a great experience with their customer service.
I personally wouldnt even give them one star. The main guy who runs the shop is horrible, gave my father one price then gave my daughter a totally different price. Gave her the run around, and lied. Had the car for 7 business days, and still didnt have it on the schedule for that week when I took the car Tuesday morning to a different location. After telling her it was on the schedule to be fixed the Friday before or that Monday. The other location had it fixed the next day. I will NEVER go to this shop ever, this isnt professional, if anything just one lie after another.
The owner and the people who work there are very professional, tactful, and knowledgeable. I brought my 1999 ford ranger in one year ago with a bad transmission and torque converter. the truck is still running strong, shifts smooth in to all gears, no leaks, and the trans may be the strongest part of the truck now.
Small shop where the owner is personally involved and cares about your business. Honest and friendly to deal with. Good customer service. If you have any issue give them a chance to correct it and they will. They want you to be satisfied.

As a single parent, it is hard to find a good trusting mechanic in the area who wont try to sell you services that arent needed. I was told I needed a rebuild that would cost 1600-2000. Took it to McCartys and he said the problem could be resolved for about a quarter of the price. He was right. Still have life left in transmission!!!!
I had a great experience at the shop. Only reason I am giving a 4 is because the tow truck driver they sent was very rude to my mom. I asked for the tow truck to come after 2:30 because my mom had to pick up my son. He called me at 1:30 saying he was there already and called my mom and made her turn around and come back home because he was waiting! That wasnt so cool:Ronnie, the owner was very nice and professional. Glenn, who is the transmission builder took my call and explained how he goes about rebuilding the transmission. My van was with them for 9 days, but took them 5 days to rebuild. I had it towed on a Wednesday and got called the following Monday to tell me they had just opened it up and started the process. Glenn had told me it would take about that long because they had other jobs at the time as well.My van is running smoothly! Ronnie was even kind enough to let his mechanic help my mom fix her door jam when we pulled up. He is ordering the part and will end up fixing it for her. But Im just impressed he actually let the mechanic look at it and fix it without charging us! They even had turned my van on and were letting the battery recharge. It had been off since October, so it needed that.I was very satisfied with their work and customer service. Im surprised others had bad experiences previously. They all seem like great people.
They are very honest, and will never do any extra work on your car without calling and asking first. Ronnie the owner is very friendly. They work fast too, rebuilt my transmission in less than two days.

Punctuality is an area that needs some work - I gave them my car to do a rebuild on 9/19, and as of 10/05 I still havent gotten it back. Plus, I was told it would be done the following Monday/Tuesday, but that was pushed to the end of the week, and then I was told it would be done by this (10/05) late afternoon (which, by the way, was pushed back again.)While I think that they will do a good job with the transmission, this hold up is bordering on ridiculous. The owner constantly promises that the car will be done by x date but he has not been true to his word four, going on five, times now. Plus, the other reviews that say he sounds like he is doing you a favor by working on it are all true.If you do take your car here, you would be better off consulting a ouija board then asking them when it would be done.

They obviously DONT care about fixing transmissions properly or about reputable and honest work. When they do work and weeks later there is an issue and they refuse to look at it and fix it after the vehicle has been looked at by other mechanics who say that it is defiantly the transmission they worked on. And we have a warranty !!! Shame on them for their LACK of professionalism! Guess the court can decide whst should be done ! Do NOT use these people .
Owner talked to me like he was doing me a favor to fix my transmission. He was very defensive and not pleasant to talk to. Someone stole money from my vehicle so I called the owner to report it and he didnt even care or bother to investigate it. I believe it was the towing company that stole it. My overall experience was unpleasant. I wont do anymore business with them.I suggest that if you plan to stay in business then you need to be more customer friendly and show some concern when a customer has an issue instead of writing them off...
I cant tell you how reliable your car is going to be after McArtys transmissions because my car was here for 17 days without even getting a quote on the repairs. When I initially called to have it towed in, I explained that I already had a diagnostic test on it and it had a problem with the solenoid. McArtys said I should expect to hear something after 4-5 days (not including the weekend) because they were busy, which I understand, but after 5 days I didnt hear anything. I waited 3 days then called just to check on the status of it and the gentlemen on the phone fed me a bunch of bull then said I would hear back from them by tomorrow or the next day at the latest. I did not hear back from them either of those days, so I returned to the shop in person 3 days later and was IMMEDIATELY dismissed after I identified my car. The owner assertively told me, You called yesterday and I told you I needed to call and order the parts. I havent called them to find out how much it is yet and Ill get to it eventually. My first though was, I called you 3 days ago, but I unwillingly accepted his response and left. I then waited, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday before showing up there one more time and to ask them to just give me my car back. I then reluctantly paid the $50 towing fee. I have no idea why this shop has been around for so long, do not waste your time with these people.
Took two weeks to get information on what was going on with the car,because he assumed we didn’t have any money.Very nasty attitude,lied gave me the run around.Just really unprofessional had my car towed from there today he went out and told the tow man we didn’t have any money not knowing we paid $1800 down payment to the place who came to tow,where my car will be getting fixed tomorrow.Plus the place I had it towed to coast $785 less and the customer service is wayyyy better.Take your car to Terry’s on Warrick.

This was easily the worst experience I have ever had with a repair shop. They acted with little to no professionality, lost my ticket with my contact information, beat around the bush giving me excuses, had my vehicle for 5 1/2 weeks and still did NOT fix the problem. If you want a shop thats going to neglect, forget, give you poor service and feed you bull, then this is the shop for you. Honestly, go anywhere else than this place.

I said no thank you i can drop my pan myself and see, but thanks. he became frustrated i wouldnt give him my business. insulted me, asked me well then do you know what youre looking for??!!......truth is no. but now days with youtube and forums and just talking to friends and family that KNOW their way around a truck....you can figure it out if you have the right equipment. And im sorry but a Transmission change is like an oil change except you just drop a pan instead of pull a plug. he wanted to charge me 130 bucks to just drop the pan. i was VERY nice and thankful but declined the offer. ITS NOT LIKE HE KNEW THE PROBLEM. He was in the same spot i was....lol. I CHOSE THIS PLACE BECAUSE ON THEIR WEBSITE THEY SAID THEY WERE CHRISTIANS. but i guess Ronnie was having a BAD day or something. but by these other reviews im assuming he was playing the whole OMG your truck is going to blow up if you dont pay me to fix it game.....and come to find out i was just low on fluid and a seal was leaking. quick easy $70 fix. CHOSE A DIFFERENT PLACE.
