The place was total chaos Ive worked for a big LTL company in Jersey for years no comparison I was told the lot was too full to pull in at the guard gate to go back out on the road but when you try to get back out you cannot move its total gridlock the only good thing I can say is I had a dedicated delivery for Red Bull so as soon as I got a door I was unloaded in about 10 minutes but I could not use the door I was given because the yard is completely full theres nowhere to maneuver nowhere to turn around their drivers just cut you off total chaos security guards all should be retrained, if management cant see this theyre blind I think theyre right their own reviews and post them all as good,, but theyre not.

I worked at Salson as a truck driver. Let me tell you they are very rude, talk down to you. They set you up with very little guidance or how to really be successful at your job. If you have questions they just talk to you like you’re dumb. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a job! Stay clear from there! Believe the reviews.

Anthony Berritto has created opportunities and livelihoods for SO many people, this man is hands down the best guy I ever worked for or watched operate under any circumstances. I worked at Salson for quite a few years between 2005 and 2012. Ive been in transportation for 19 years now and Ive learned alot but nothing more important than what I learned at Salson, I owe all my logistical wit to Anthony and his staff. Difficult place to get in and out but the load fast. You have to call the number on the entrance gate and wait outside(on the tiny streets)till they call you back to get in.The girl at the shipping/receiving office is sweet!

Yard is small and there’s no parking, the people are nice and they load you fast. Park on the street and see security.

Its really packed and hard to know whos next in line to get loaded. Be courteous and respectful and you can get a can or two of red bull in shipping office. Try to park outside before entering the gate and walk on foot to guard shack for instructions

This place is a Disaster!! Theres stuff everywhere in the way. And its always that way clearly. The containers are parked everywhere and thats the way 5his place is run.

Checked in 15min before apptmnt. Security gaurd has the stinkiest attitude. An hour later I went to find out what the hold up was, again stinky attitude. All the gaurds should be fired. I had no issue when chkg in with them. Terrible people. Once inside the lot, the gaurd told me the wrong place to go and the lot is covered with broken bolt seals. Good luck not getting a flat tire in this place. Altogether, the olny good thing happened here was the yard jockey backed my trailer in for me which was nice because the spaces are tight.

Had a driver run me off the road crossing 3 lanes. Called their main number and was sent to the safety team, the gentleman who picked up was extremely rude, I would list his name but he introduced himself as safety, I tried to ask him how his day has been and he replied with a sharp what do you want. After explaining what took place, he was very unpleasant, argumentative, and abrasive. It was clear this safety officer could care less about safety. Ive called many other trucking companies about safety concerns, every other company jumped at the opportunity to improve. Not Salson. Customers considering hiring these drivers, remember its your brand that they are representing.

Do not take warehouse street as you might get stuck in traffic. Overall its a Saigon place, park on the street, check in and wait hours to get a door, also they are not responsible for any damages done to your truck while on their property. I gave it a try for a load that paid good but this is my last time coming here. Just not worth the time and hassle.8 loads cancelled within 2hrs . Do not go there. BEWARE !!!

Dropped my trailer in yard on a Saturday afternoon for a Tuesday unloading, due to labor day. I recieved a call at 16:00 my trailer was empty. Crew did a nice job as everything was floor loaded, they did not leave a bunch of trash and yard jockey positioned trailer for an easy exit off of the property. However, it took over 40 minutes to receive a signed copy of BOL and trailer release. The young lady that was supposed to do this just ignored me. Well, I waited patiently and finally someone else from another department ( I think dispatch) went and got the paperwork and sent me on my way. I appreciate the extra effort someone else took to cover a coworkers behind.Gave them a second chance, bad mistake on my part here 24 hours and now can not find paperwork or trailer. Unorganized company with no real leadership. Well Carlos the yard jockey thinks he knows everything, You do have that. Owner operators stay away, do not make the same mistake I did.

One of their drivers hit my car on the highway and just kept going like nothing happened. By law thats called a hit and run. Salson thionk they are above the law. be careful.

Very tight. Dont make a right turn. I didnt see the sign at night and tried to. Go straight. Theres a pilot right up the road.

Horrible place to come for pick up. Security guards are rude and mad. Worst yard jockeys ever. The trl i was suppose to pickup was bloked by 3 other trailers. I try to talk to yard jockey to help me move them, he ignored me and kept driving around. I tried to move them with my truck security says no, that Im not allowed to. I spoke to another yard jockey who finally helped me but wasnt happy helping. Looks like theyve been forced to work there.

Its a very busy place but due to that the yard is chaotic and unorganized so get ready to play wheres also with your trailer. You are allowed to park on the street outside and the staff are friendly though

Horrible place. Drivers need to park out side where there is no parking walk to the entrance staff and they take hours to provide information. Also, Rude employees yard employee started yelling when approached and did not care about the parking situation outside the salson property.

3 hour waiting for a door

I have been here at Salon for over 5 years now, Im very happy with them. Theyre very family oriented and work hard to work with you in emergencies.The dispatchers work hard to keep you moving so youll make the money. They have new equipment so you have a reliable rig.

The five stars is for the docker we experienced just now named Kevin. A true delight. This yard is PACKED and can take a lot of time and tears to navigate, but Kevin is a master at his craft and is above and beyond at his job.

I have worked for this company over 3 months now as a breakdown coordinator in the shop. I enjoy my job and my coworkers, management is great they will help you if your in need. If you do good work and stay on top of your game then there will always be work for you at salson logistics. :)

As a driver for SalSon for many years, I have to say they have the best dispatchers I have worked with. We have never had any issues that they could not assist with and I have always appreciated them looking out for me. Not to mention they always have top of the line equipment and are constantly improving and innovating.

Ive been driving for SalSon for almost four years doing dedicated runs and I enjoy my job quite a bit. Good pay if you are willing to work. Great dispatchers that will work with you and work around your schedule (such as Dr. appointments, etc.). I look forward to another four or more years with Salson.

Workers do not have good attitude, have no education, delay bills, delay loading and unloading, mistreat the outside drivers, a dirty, horrible place, some in the offices and warehouse badly treat the driver from outside

For a owner operator pay is good, but company wise they are very unprofessional and the work ethic is on the ground and theres very little respect for the drivers.

The staff was decent but very unorganized. Anthony jr. is a piece of sh.. hire thru the supervisor wait 3 days to see him just to say get to say final say not hired flexing through daddys muscles. Would not recommend to anyone. Stay far away from this facility. Im currently in a lawsuit with this company after 4 of my drivers received parking fines totally $4,000 after being told to park on the side of the road to wait for a door. Not only is that bad but they also have huge signs stating DO NOT ENTER PARK ON SIDE OF ROAD. NJ state police has been contacted and will be helping during our court case. Hope these lazy people have enough money because theyll be paying 2.1M total in our suit.

Honestly, only work here if its your last resort, the trucks and trailers is trash. Youll make 600 to 700. Easy work. But if Pat your dispatcher run 🏃🏃🏃He will tell you to do things that dont make no sense and if you get on his bad side. Hell purposely put you in the worst equipment and get mad when you break down. The office will not support either

Apply at your own risk, unfortunately the bad in these reviews are true, the most damaging part for me personally is the way they play with your pay, they cut your check in half and promise to have it fixed by next week. In which they make the same mistake again leaving with 400 bucks for the week for your family. They also do not fix payroll mistakes on the spot, so your screwed until next Friday, in which your pay will be incorrect once more. Regarding the trucks almost no maintenance are done on these vehicles, chemical fumes make way to the cabin(converter cleaner) which is highly cancerous, I would like to see my kids graduate so I cant breath chemicals every day. Also if your a supporter of president trump, do not make that known here. Payroll is mostly Spanish and will check your Facebook for political stuff. If they dont like what they see be ready to see 300 bucks a week ripped out of your check. Which am sure is illegal

Avoid! Nasty nightmare place! Guard is nice so he gets the single star. But when you pull up to the guard booth you are told to go back out and park on the street (where its illegal for trucks to park) then you can walk up and check in. Tight Uturn right at the guard booth to leave. I never went in, because Im not leaving my truck on the street in a very bad neighborhood!

Slow and bad service

As a worker there is no place to used restroom its so nasty in there the board of health need to come out. work 9 hour and only a 30 min lunch break not cool.

Staff was nice, they do get you in and out as quick as they can, but the parking is kinda crazy. Whaddya expect for New Jersey though? This is coming from a long haul driver. Cant speak for the local work. Make sure you have ALL the information you need before you go in to get your load, P/U# B/L# and any other #you can get from dispatch. Also, get your truck and trailer plate # too. Take your cell phone, just in case you dont have the right #.

Ive been working for salson as a truck driver for over 12 years.this is a family operation and for the last 12 years they make me feel part of it. This is a good company, with nice hours. I enjoy driving for salson because I get to be home each night. FAMILY

Had a really bad experience with this company. 1.) Went out to train on 5/2/2018 as an owner operator with one of their company drivers and realize how poorly the drivers get treated.2.) me the driver I was training with work more then 15hrs in one day. I call them and told them if I was going to get pay for this day and they immediately said NO. I wonder what type of business is the owner of this company running.

A real terrible company to work for real unsafe environment lift kids do not properly work on their physicals district box vehicles have too many problems they mess around with your pay they do not pay you properly they pay per day but they based your work per our boxes are falling over on employees When you call dispatch for help they do not send I hope all store managers in all the stores that they deliver to our very rude and I’m noxious people their vehicle say 25,000 pounds with airbrakes but on licensed commercial drivers are driving for this company if you are a driver with a CDL I recommend that you do not drive for this company

I placed my resume on Careerbulder and i was called by the recruiting office and they where very nice and set me up with an interview Fast was explained pay in detail and what i loved most was that they have there own chassis i dont have to wait 4hrs at the piers and they have there own container Handler... been with the company 2yrs and looking to retire from here !!!

This is the worst place in history to work for and Im not exaggerating. They are so unorganized that the dispatch never know what is going on or what your next task is. They use all old and raggedy equipment. I had to switch trucks like every other day from breakdowns or other equipment problems. They basically use their drivers without paying them anything. No matter how desperate you are do not go to sal-son. Look the other way, its not worth it. It will be valuable time wasted from your life.

Hard to get in and out

Horrible turn 2get in gate, if they have you drop on the street - good luck, terrible exit as cant turn right. Have to go out down a curvy street where trailers are dropped both sides.If you have to pull a loaded trailer out, its in the back where only space for a day cab to operate, but they expect sleepers to pull 53s out wwith barely enough room IF u r perfect. High curb keeps u out of drainage ditch, but will destroy your aerodynamics in front while u r trying not to scrap trailer.Avoid business here if possible, if not, make hard guys pull loaded trailer around for you.Would give Zero stars if possible.

Im a driver for salson and my experience here has beeen great! I always have my own chassis and they keep me busy with work never slow. The trucks are new and well maintained. I love the fact that theres a kitchen in the terminal, make great food! so if your looking for a place to call home salson is the place to be!!

Horrible place to pickup a load no space for nothing

I have been at Salson for nearly 14 years. There’s been good and bad days but one thing I could say for sure is that I’ve been treated like family. Fast paced and growing company with the best equipment in the ports. I’ve been to many ports in the country and the Salson container chassis are far beyond others. They are simply the best. Management is fair. You work with them and they’ll work with you. Most importantly is the consistency in work flow throughout the year. I know this sounds like a commercial but I’m truly greatful for the 14 years that I’ve been employed at Salson.

Laid back work place constant miles great ppl I been here for almost a year and Im still happy most.of all I injoy haveing a life on the weekends as this job gets me home on weekends I dont plane on leaveing and hope more drivers will make the change to come here
