I myself havent gotten much answered or assistance from this organization. At the height of the pandemic, I attended a few webinars and thought it was a great idea to take names and reach out to those who gave their contact information. I understand I own and manage a niche business, however getting dismissed left and right was constantly discouraging. I got transferred and referred to people who didnt want to bother with what I needed help with. I gave up months (almost a year now) ago.... I hope things get better, or responses are catered towards understanding a business before dismissing for lack of understanding or poor communication.

I would be lost without the NJSBDC. They have provided so much not just in terms of point to resources but for the people who provide their service, expertise, patience, and willingness to go above and beyond expectations. Great Service! Great people!

Our little idea budded and prospered under the guidance of our counsel. With a wealth of experience and contacts, David was a godsend to us and we utilized many resources in fruitful meetings along the way to starting up our small business. Invaluable resource.

The woman I worked with did everything in her power to discourage me and make me feel small. I have run two prior service/retail businesses and hoped to open a new one, and she was of absolutely no help whatsoever. She didnt try to get to know me at all, and showed no interest in helping me. I was enormously disappointed. I had expected so much more.

NJSBDC has been very helpful assisting with recommendations to receive our Womens Business Enterprise, Minority Business Enterprise as well as Small Business Enterprise certificates.Along with their help our company has since then been able to get some small customer service contracts and we are on on our way to land some larger more permeant contracts.

I spoke to Shakira Brown over the phone because of the pandemic. She spent about an hour with me and walked me through every step of what I wanted to do with extending my product line in my office. She was very thorough - it was truly like having my own business consultant! While I decided not to move forward on my idea it was extremely important that I was able to explore the topic completely with someone so knowledgeable. It is imperative that I note that without Shakira Brown to walk me through the entire project I might have ruined the business I already have by moving forward to realize my idea and (only later) discovered the error I had in my thinking.Shakira was very patient and knowledgeable and really listened to me.Thank you NJSBDC for being such an excellent resource.

I’m a bit hesitant to share this online but I think it’s important to hold organizations accountable.Unfortunately, I haven’t met with a consultant since my inquiry. It took over a week (past the three days I was told that someone would contact me) before I receive an email. I transferred my LLC on my own which was one of the reasons I reached out.I still haven’t spoken with anyone and I’m extremely disappointed in the service received.

I really don’t like writing reviews that are not positive but my experience with the organization was rather...confusing. I got in touch with them last year as I was starting my business and had some questions. I was contacted by Ryan Silverstre’s intern originally but was able to schedule and talk on the phone with Ryan himself. I found Ryan to be very intelligent and knowledgeable. He spent a good hour with me on the phone and gave me some valuable information. I was very excited to have found this type of support. As a new business owner that is very meaningful. However, after that phone call I tried to reach out again via email as I had another question on importing goods. I received one response that was supposed to lead to a phone call with someone that can help. But after that I was...ghosted! I followed up several times via email and tried to call Ryan but I received no response. I was professional in all my communications with everyone. Starting a new business is a very vulnerable place to be so the last people I expected to be ghosted by was the Small Business Administration...To this day I am not able to get ahold of anyone there. I was really looking forward to establishing a rapport with the organization. I hope others have better luck.
