Great apartments. Great people around. Amenities are also as described and the mgmt keeps making improvements so that is good. Also got a free gift after completing a month! :) very thoughtful. I love my Apt.
I love it here. It is safe. Security on site. The staff are amazing. I am excited for all the new amenities coming soon—Daily Variety of Group fitness classes, bowling alley, Billiards, Coffee Bar/Breakfast, spa/salon etc.
You COULD NOT find a better staff than the team here. Everyone is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to be helpful. The apartments are nice as well, but its really the staff that makes Eleven80 an exceptional place to live.
WiFi in amenities areas at study desk and conference room is very weak and spotty .Those are the amenities areas where that is needed the most. I cannot understand how the ATM machine in the elevator lobby is an acceptable design solution. It’s integration into our public area is not well thought out and really should be reconsidered. If you’re going to have it there, and I don’t know how much money anybody is making off of this thing, it should at least be designed into the decor. Properly and thoughtfully .Other than that, our amenity spaces and public areas are beautiful, kept impeccably clean and very useful. The gym is amazingly well maintained and equipped . The staff here are friendly and helpful and our building is well maintained . Thank you
I love the building, my apartment, and the front staff and having security. However, i find it very difficult to reach the manager, Leah. I have emailed her before and sometimes had to email twice to get a response and then no follow up. I find any fees to be a little pricey here such as pet rent, and others if you happen to be lucky enough to obtain them.
My group is the one doing the pop up art galleries downstairs. You can see our mission statement there or at artfrontgalleries.com. We are very grateful to and very impressed by the willingness of management to bring art, and the artists who work with to Downtown Newark. We are treated very well by management and hope that our project has brought insight and perhaps joy to residents of the building and the rest of the local community
The couple of times that I have needed maintenance in my apartment to fix something, the staff was quick in correcting the issues. Small issues, but yet theyre was no hesitation to come and fix it.
It’s good it’s nice we have a lot of entertainment 5%5
Nice building, friendly staff, excellent location. The amenities like the bowling alley and huge gym are something you wont find anywhere else. Highly recommend!
I lived here for one year and had to move due to school. I really loved living here. The walls are so thick I never heard my neighbors. The common areas such as the hallways and trash rooms are always super clean. The front desk staff is just so friendly and nice. I will miss this place.
Stayed at this building with my brother for 4 months. Besides it being in Newark. It was one of the best buildings i have ever stayed in. The front desk staff was amazing and the building was beautiful and moderate. It was safe and has security and front desk staff 24 hours a day.
Great Building. The only thing that sucks is the amenities close at 12am. (Basketball Court, Bowling alley, Gym & Pool Table room.
Old lady that needs to retire was so rude and very disrespectful, unprofessional and many more I wouldn’t recommend living here. If she was before move in then imagine once living there. If I can give her no starts I would do not rent here!
Do not move there! Their management office is the worst. You’ll be under the pressure all the time and will live like in the prison for your own money. No thanks!
If you wanna get some privacy it’s not the place you wanna live. The management office is always spying on you even in the elevator and then sending you emails what you can and what you can’t do, and in this building you can do almost nothing. You’ll live like in the South Korea or like in the prison. I mean if you like it go ahead;)
I have lived in Eleven80 for about 3 years. I moved away after year 1 (in an attempt to save money) and rent a walk up in Jersey City by JS Station- not worth it. I quickly found myself moving back here and have stayed for another 2 years. I’m currently leaving at the end of my lease this fall (Oct 2019). So my amazing unit will be available it you’re looking! These other reviews on here are ridiculous. The privacy is amazing! Because the original building was built in the 30s, but renovated in the 2000s the walls are THICK – almost noise impenetrable. I never heard my neighbors at my old unit at all and have only heard them at my current unit if there is super loud music (rarely), and even then the sound is distant and easy to ignore with my own tv without having to blast my volume. I attribute this to the amazing thick walls. All these other new apartment buildings they are slapping up have the thinnest walls so if this is important to you and you’re looking to rent in downtown Newark – only rent from Eleven80. In addition – you never have to worry about a lost package or issues with grocery delivery as the front desk/concierge handles everything. The staff at the building are AMAZING! Demetrice, Hurst, Shekinah, and Ralph always say hi to you in the mornings and evenings – they know you by name. They have most everyone’s floor memorized and will frequently remotely press the floor number for you after calling the elevator down. Victor and Jorge are super friendly porters and do a great job of keeping the building running with a quick response time. Every time I see Victor he always says he’s having a excellent day. It’s really inspiring to see someone that has that attitude and just generates it.Pablo, Ann, and Pamela are fantastic in how they treat residents. They have annul parties a couple times a year and frequently have resident appreciation breakfasts. The Halloween Party is the best! (even though I lost the costume contest to formidable opponents. The first year we lived here we had an issue with the washer/dryer and it was looked at same day and determined that it needed to be replaced instead of repaired. Within 24 hrs we had a brand new washer and dryer unit. This year when we had issues with our dishwasher the response was also about 24 hrs and they cleaned the unit out for us (food buildup in the sprayers) and it worked well after that. There are basic, common courtesies’ that are common sense and not at all intrusive. Basically, (1) wear shoes when you leave your apartment unit (just because you’re in the building doesn’t mean the space outside your unit isn’t “public/common area” -because it is. You can’t just be down in the lobby in your socks. Especially in the gym – wear gym shoes. (2) If you set off the fire alarm in your individual unit -don’t open the door -it will set off the building-wide alarm and piss off all your neighbors. Be nice. Either open your window or turn on your vent and ride it out. The review on here that makes the comparison to prison or “South Korea” likely doesn’t have common respect for neighbors. The neighborhood is a great place to live! If the location in Newark (so close to Penn) is something giving you pause I can assure you the area is safe and the building has security, etc in the evenings. There are plenty of places to eat out (bars, burgers, pizzas, etc). There is the Whole Foods at the end of a beautiful Military park. You’re right down the street from NJ PAC -it’s been invaluable. I go to Whole Foods for emergency food – I go to NJ PAC for the comedy shows, and Harry Potter, Star Wars and other films shown with the score done by NJ Symphony -it’s been fantastic!
This one experience of mine defines the way the management here functions. I lived in 1180 for more than 15 months (From Oct-13 till Mar-15). I was living in 1BHK apartment with lease until May 2015. But to due to some job related commitments I had to relocate to the west coast in Mar-15. Now my company was ready to pay me all the rent closure penalties for the apartment provided I submit proper documentation and receipts (Lease agreement section for early closure policies, move out receipts ). Now as per 1180 Management “you are responsible for the rent until your lease ends”. Now since I was doing an early closure this meant I owed them 2 months of rent (April and May) and I should be good to go. In return I just needed the section of Lease which clearly states the early closure of lease policies and a letter that I vacated the place on Mar 31st.I did my part upfront, I gave them the 2 month rent. In return what I got was a ledger of all my rent logs as a closing documentation which was not I asked for. Then I tried to go through the Lease agreement myself to figure out if I could pin point the section which says “you are responsible for the rent until your lease ends” or something of that sort. But I could not locate a single policy which says so (Probably because I am not an expert in reading legal jargons and that’s precisely why I needed their help). It could be there in some fine print. But the lady who heads the management did not help me in spite of repeated follow-ups and countless emails for over a month. They just plane ignored me. Which even makes me think were they bluffing about the closure policy. Now I lost the window to submit my claims at my work place. This whole ordeal cost me 4000$ of easy money.I honestly wouldnt recommend anybody to this place looking at the apathy of the management to residents who try to move out of this place. There are few good qualities about this place like its proximity to the Penn station and the building staff is really helpful. But when someone has to beg to get basic information regarding lease policies at a place and not get correct exit documentation, it just boils down to a new level of un-professionalism by the management.
Useless staff in the leasing office. Expect nothing from them, at most. I flew up to see an apartment, she told it was available, then as soon as we gave them application fee, the unit was magically rented. Avoid.
Very informative people, loved talking to the front desk people
Very loud area, I couldn’t sleep there, always reconstruction or something even at night! I’m glad I moved out!
Worst management office ever
