Excellent service, fantastic timing and installation. We had a leak and had to move out for the repairs. Scerri started work within a few days of seeing the unit. 3 days to remove some floor boards, install new floor, paint room, and rebuild furniture. Highly recommend. Very thorough and attentive.

You honestly won’t find anyone better than Joe and his team when it comes to wood flooring in NYC. Joe’s professionalism, attention to detail, and design mentality are superb, and exactly what I look for in a contractor. Before coming to Joe, we were lost in what type, brand, and finish of wood we should choose. We did online research and got samples, but still didn’t quite understand what we needed. On our first meeting with Joe, he explained the nuances of wood with the passion of a man who truly loves his craft and the expertise of someone with three decades of experience. He recommended a beautiful option that has yet to show a scratch after 6 months. It’s really strong wood “with character” that disguises blemishes, which is just what we wanted. Not to mention it’s a US company, sustainably sourced and made without chemicals. The work itself went smoothly, and he always kept us up to date on progress. Joe’s labor rate was quite reasonable (we also did a lot of research on contractors), and he is well known in the UES for his high quality work. I can’t recommend him enough!

I cannot speak highly enough about Joe Scerri and his company. After another installers finished job was not to my liking, I hired Joe to remove that install and get it right. Joe gave me the exact floors I wanted (a chevron herringbone pattern)- the quality of the workmanship is flawless and the color is stunning! Joe has an excellent eye and brings extensive experience along with an enormous sense of pride to deliver magnificent results for his clients. Joe and his guys are true finds and worth the price. Simply the best!

Scerri Wood Floors has done two floors for us over the years. The first was removal and replacement of a thick ceramic tile floor with wood flooring in the living room. Not an easy job, but it came out great and we still get compliments on it. Did a kitchen floor for us recently; they were in and out in a couple of days and again it was top notch. Great to work with and highly recommended!

We have worked with Joe twice -- once (years ago) to repair/restore prewar parquet floors, and more recently (2018) to replace the floors throughout our entire apartment, including replacing the subfloor. Our second project was complicated with lots of surprises (due to the age and condition of the floors) and Joe was great about his communication throughout the process. He is honest and diligent... a great guy and a true craftsman who is passionate about his work. Our floors are gorgeous, and I wouldn’t think of doing hardwood floors with anyone else!

Its not easy finding great contactors or contractor companies to perform work in NYC apartments. I have had experiences where the company owners outsource parts, if not all, of the job to wildly incompetent people to perform. However, you cant go wrong with Scerri Quality Wood. Joe and his committed team of professionals are the best! They are prompt, ambitious and polite, and they take great care of protecting your home while they work. I have hired Scerri Quality Wood Floors twice in the past few years. They did the initial installation in my 9 room apartment, and then came back a year later to repair some of the floors after water damage. Both times, they did a fantastic job. They are so careful with every little detail, and work hard to please their customers. I recommend them highly!

Scerri Wood Floors refinished the wooden floors of our apartment beautifully. We have 100 year-old floors, with delicate inlays and multi-wood borders and the floors had been looking damaged and dreary. Scerri Wood worked carefully, and brought then back to their former glory. Excellent company.

Joe is the best, PERIOD.My original general contractor destroyed my floors at three attempts. I contacted Joe Scerri to fix the whole mess(based on a refferral). Joe and his team got right down to work after constructing the plan. He stayed on schedule, showed up on time and delivered as promised the most beautiful grey wood floors- in addition to showing me how to care for them. Furthermore, if i have any questions he is easily accessible by ph or email or text... long after the job was complete! Joes team is the best in the business, honest and transparent. Additionally, he is not like one of these huge stores, where you cant get any personal attention. This guy is the real-deal...

Avoid if you dont want to deal with a schizophrenic, bipolar and unstable owner. Joe may know what he is doing but he is mentally unstable and highly unprofessional. He never completed his work and kept our deposit.
