I brought in several VHS tapes to be digitized a couple of weeks ago and could not have had a better experience. The service was exceptional and timely and I now know that I forever have these family memories preserved. Mindy was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Rafik video is simply amazing! I wish I could give more than just 5 stars. The company (and especially Mindy) do their job to the absolute highest level of professionalism. Satisfied doesnt even begin to describe how I felt after recieving the work they had done for me, I was more blown away with their results. Ive been using their business for a few years now and I am never disappointed. I gave Mindy multiple Hi-8, Mini DV, VHS-C, and VHS cassettes, all in poor condition after years and years of degradation and neglect, with her knowledge and experience, she was able to make the footage look brand new as well as transfer the footage onto a hard drive. I am constantly impressed with their turn around times. How do they do it so quickly!?! They are also just extremely friendly people, willing to put tons of effort and energy into giving the best product. I cant imagine ever using anyone else to do this work. DREADFUL EXPERIENCE. I wanted to have PAL transferred to US format.Spoke with Mindy who told me to send it to her in Brooklyn. When I called to find out if she received it, she said there was a $100 diagnostic fee. I asked how much the transfer would cost and she said she could not tell me (not even a range). I said I had not been told any of this and asked to have video returned. She said they did not have the capacity to do that. I would have to go to Brooklyn to pick it up. She then said they had put 2 hours of work into it already and if I would not pay for that, they would not send it back. When I said they had not even notified me that they had received it much less asked if they would start working on it, she replied that she id not have talk to someone who was being difficult and hung up.

I brought in a VHS-C with tape inside that had been split in two and crumpled from my attempt to reconnect the pieces. I wanted the tape salvaged and the footage captured, which Mindy completed for me in just a few days. Overall, a great experience - would definitely go back.

I have used Rafik 3 or 4 times over the past couple of years and have only had positive experiences. Frankly, the reviews that I have read dont sound like the business that I know. Their prices are more than competitive, the staff friendly and helpful, and the quality of work is really good. Will definitely use them again.

I recently used Rafik for my grandmothers home movies to be transferred to DVD. She had years of video recorded of everyone, and I wanted copies for all of my family members in time for my family reunion next month. The girls that worked there were very friendly, got to me in a timely manner, and I couldnt be happier with the result. the films came in clear and without a hitch on all the DVDs, all in about two weeks time. I definitely plan on bringing my old VHS tapes back here soon.

Outrageous. I left videos there to be transferred to a hard drive. They said they would be available Monday. When I called Monday they said they werent ready. Then when I told them they had promised a Monday pick up, they said they actually were available. Then when I went to pick them up they were not ready and they asked me to wait TWO HOURS while they finished processing them. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO GET WORK FINISHED. The cost was over 300 dollars - which I paid upfront. They should have refunded all of my money.

Just had an insane conversation with whoever answers the phone at Rafik Video. It seems like they don’t want new business because she couldn’t answer a single question I had and talked me in circles giving rude, roundabout responses with no concrete information or clarity. Frustrated because I don’t know where else to take my tapes but not worth it to have to interact with someone like the woman I spoke to. She even hung up on me at the end of the call!

This place is the pit of Hell.Rafik takes complete license to:1. Lie2. estimated delivery date means +/- 3 weeks or more, and they wont tell you that at the point of transaction.3. delivery date will be pushed back perpetually without discretion. And they will say the date was an estimate4. written guarantees will be changed later - nullifying the meaning of a written guarantee.5. cancel your order despite having an order to complete it.6. take no responsibility whatsoever for their actions.These guys have no ethics, professionalism, and are impotent with their job. Rafik has opened my mind to new subterranean levels of service in New York. We live in an ego based culture, and these guys are the cherry on that cake.

Worst experience ever! I dont even want to go into details, but basically they were jerks, they lied, they were months late on completing a transfer, lost media, found media, and then they refused to return media that I had dropped off for my client until my client personally came to pick it up. Astoundingly bad business!!!

Ive been successfully using Rafik since 1993 for making dupes and doing all my tape tranfers to DVD. I cant say enough good things about them. Also, I dont think youll find better prices anywhere else in Manhattan.

Rafik Video did a beyond amazing with a video tape of my childhood that had severe damage and was completely unwatchable when I brought it in. I now have one of my earliest memories back and I couldnt be more pleased!

Very overpriced, as in Very ! and the job they did, I then couldnt use to post things online because they put a bunch of things together on one file. I wouldnt recommend going there.
