Alejandro is really the best tutor we can find for Grant. He is in every way a real model for a young student. Professional, dedicated, he is very knowledgeable of SAT contents. He helped Grant make good progress on math SAT section, making a gain of score from around 740 to 780. He always let us parents know what subjects he and Grant went through, and follow up with a tutoring session notes. He sets higher expectation for Grant. We are very appreciated to have Alejandro as our sons tutor.I would also thank Ivy Tutors Network. All the staffs, Rick, Lisa are extremely helpful and efficient in arranging mock test, finding tutor in a short notice. The entire organization is run smoothly, without us worrying about obtaining any testing material, and always answer our question in a timely fashion. The weekly mock test and reporting is very helpful to keep track Grants progress.

We signed up for SHSAT prep with Ivy Tutors Network to create a small tutoring group with our daughter and a friend. Our tutor was Nicole, who is incredible and, as Stuyvesant graduate, knows what shes talking about.Richard and Lisa, who run the program were very good with communication. We received a reminder of our weekly appointment a couple days beforehand and a detailed accounting of how it went from Nicole after each session.In our experience, Ivy Tutors also balances concerns about putting too much pressure on kids, which I appreciate. Our daughter really enjoys each session.I will try to update once our daughter takes the test in the fall but I am very pleases with what I have seen so far.

We have been lucky enough to be able to use Ivy Tutors for our daughter during this pandemic. My office put together a Tutor Pod for kids who have been doing remote learning and honestly it has been the BEST experience for her. All four of the tutors from Ivy that we have had the pleasure of working with have been amazing. We got help with a very specific New York City test for my 6th grader. Syd was incredible and navigated some of the material (math) that was new to us. I had a good rapport with Ivy - who checked in more than once - and did a mock test at a site in Manhattan. Loved Ivy Tutors. Our tutor, Teresa, was a huge help to my daughter in prepping for the SHSAT. Not just a question of the actual curriculum, but test taking strategies, how to maximize time, all sorts. Greatly reduced my daughters concerns about having to sit the test. And (sssh...dont tell anyone I said this)...they even had fun doing it....quite a bit of laughter coming from the room as they worked through problems. Here was the challenge – or, more accurately, the challenges -- I presented to Richard Kaplan at Ivy Tutors this past September: the special needs student on whose behalf I was calling was high-functioning but his academic abilities were often compromised by clinically obsessive anxiety. He was about to begin his freshman year of college – normal freshman anxiety was compounded by the fact that he would be for the first time in a mainstream educational environment without the myriad support mechanisms of the special needs schools he had hitherto attended. Weeks before classes were to begin, his anxiety had already focused on his ability to pass the freshman English class he was required to take; he was aware that he has reading comprehension and writing issues. The situation was further exacerbated when he learned, just days before I contacted Richard, that the private tutor he had worked with throughout high school was no longer available to work with him.Richard listened and replied that he had the perfect individual for the job – Chris. Incredibly, there was no period of adjustment – Chris and the student hit it off from Day 1. They worked together during 90-minute sessions two afternoons per week throughout the semester and the student’s anxiety abated and his confidence rose as he consistently received good grades on his written assignments and exams. And if the proof is in the pudding, consider this: the student scored an 89 on his final exam and an A- grade for the semester.The student, needless to say, will continue to work with Chris for the second semester and, for that matter, for as long as he feels the need for additional help. I cannot adequately express our gratitude for the remarkable “matchmaking” skills of Ivy Tutors.
