No reputable agency should or would charge a single penny, to get you started in the industries of modelling and/or acting. Read some of the other reviews closely, even at least one of the ‘good’ one’s, they talk about being guided through building their portfolio, uploading their pictures and coordinating casting auditions. Which pretty much tells me that their clients have to go after their own jobs. The ‘owner’s’ responses to the bad reviews are full of excuses and frankly passive aggressive.

This place is a huge scam. They do this by forcing you to use their own “photographers” and charge you thousands of dollars. After that, you are charged again for them to upload your photos into their system. They add you to their collection of victims who paid big money for representation only to never get any work. Please find yourself a real modeling agency who won’t do this to innocent hopeful models/actors. (NYMMG you won’t find me under this email so don’t even try to deny you don’t know who I am! Nice try but that excuse is getting old in your reviews by trying to cover your own tracks)

I had read the reviews and was skeptical on meeting Jordon in Boston regarding having my son sign with MMGNYC. It’s rare, but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. She was so nice and understood not only my frustrations with companies not accepting children at 5 years old but also addressed why that was the case with most companies. She was kind, explained the process well and took the time to get to know us as well as possible within the 15 min time frame. Eli also got to ask 5 Miss MA hopefuls out and even invited them to his next birthday party for when he turns 6 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. We look forward to a wonderful working relationship and are glad to be surprised at the wonderful first meeting.

On Backstage, they posted that they were looking for models and actors in need of representation. I applied and heard back within a span of 2 hours. They had me email them and they replied very quickly talking about what they expect from their models and actors. They mentioned that actors are required to take an acting course. I asked them to give me more information on this, because I know if they want me to pay upfront for this, they are a scam. They stopped emailing me and did not give me any more updates. I even followed up with them and heard nothing back, which further confirmed my theory that they were afraid I saw through their lies. I believe the woman I was speaking with is named Talia. This place is definitely a scam and remember: a valid agency should never require money up front or require you to take a course.

If you notice, they either respond to all negative reviews by deleting them, claiming they never represented the individual, or attacking the individual with some long statement. I find that quite weird from someone who calls themselves a professional agency. Also, the hundreds of dollars in fees. That is not proper of an agency. This month I made 2 years with MMG!!! My experience thus far: From the first time I met with MMG, they were sweet, NEVER RUDE, knowledgable, willing to explain the industry and other things to new models (like myself) even the president of the company talks to anyone he sees at the office(which almost NEVER happens at other agencies). They give OPTIONS that pertain to money, but no one including myself has ever been forced to cough up money for ANYTHING. They state from the very beginning that certain services they offer are OPTIONAL. Now besides money, my success went far beyond my own expectations. Ive worked for brands I only dreamt of, made very important connections, and have been guided and protected throughout the course of my career with them. So if asked if I would recommend them? Every body mentioned to me about the fees and I went in for one talk and they told me some amount like $525-$550 and the reasons are because the staff has to work so hard to upload your images and stuff like that we could upload our own images for those prices haha those arent normal agency fees. The employees arent very nice and the friends I have working with this agency dont work much. Castings come through their other agencies and they all talk about leaving. Can be compared to RED agency honestly

MMG is definitely like a second family for me. Ive been with them for almost four years. Though I havent personally booked anything that was due to being in school and personal issues, they still submit and send me out for castings. They are fairly easy to get a hold of, and are genuinely caring. Ive seen that some of these reviews have been about the photoshoots. If you dont like the way the pictures turn out, you can express that and they do allow you to reshoot... Its like anything in life, research. Look into the photographer youd potentially be working with and see if that fits you and your style/ image, if not communicate that with them and work with someone you want to work with!
