Its a really good class. Now a days its hard to get my 3 year old out the house. But as soon as we get to karate class he is ready to start his class. They adhere to all covid protocols and will continue to do so.They offer zoom classes which is a plus. The Master is really old school with that said. He doesnt go overboard nor is he harsh. but If you are really sensitive to how people speak to your children this class is not for you.PROS:-You can tell the kids really enjoy the classes-its an affordable class for twice a week classesCONS:- the classes arent always split into age groups (which isnt always bad)
Hi, All:Responding to Ms. Jessica Barrios; we did not close!Because of Gov. Cuomos PAUSE order, we suspended in-person classes & will resume soon when NYC is in Phase 2 of the COVID Recovery Plan.Reach out to me & stay safe until we meet again!Best Regards,Master Anthony Richards
Master Richards who holds a 7th degree black belt for over 45 years, in Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwan Do. Master Richards has been my dedicated instructor for over 14 years. His ability to teach not only the physical and historical significance of the martial arts while using the five code of Bushido: Honesty, Concern, Respect, Humility and Discipline. He will often state that with discipline all others will follow.Master Richard, has helped countless children from all ethnic backgrounds. He teaches everyone to achieve their highest psychical and academic goals.Master Richards works well with kids who are challenged which gives them a since of self worth. All five of my kids studied under Master Richards. One day he asked why dont join with the kids and my response was NO WAY however, after much thought I decided to go for it. I am currently Master Plummer..Thank God..Tang Soo
I can’t begin to express how wonderful this studio is. They welcomed our family with open arms. They teach children how to be good humans that respect themselves and others. It is a gem in the Harlem community. I am so sad that they closed. Hopefully they will open up a new studio soon.
My son has been on this school since he was 2.5 years old and he is now 6 years old. My son loves this class! Master Richards is an amazing instructor ! He do not only teach the kids Martial arts but he teach discipline and safety. I highly recommend his class ! When I used to have some behavioral issue w my son... Master Richards addressed that issue and it gets rectified! As years gone by... My husband and I started taking the adult classes! Again Master Richards never fail ! As a woman I am learning self defense and the discipline of a Martial Artist. I wish parents would take their time to get their kids and themselves to try the class!
I used take a martial arts class when I was 18 years old. I didnt stick to it since I didnt have the finances to keep up.As I got older my godson started taking classes at Harlem lil Dragons. I watched him grow in discipline and skill in class and at tournaments over the years. So much so, that when they introduced an adult class in that location with Master Richards, I jumped on the chance to join.As a fairly active adult (Marathoner, swimmer and uncle to 4 young kids under 12) I thought I was in great shape. I learned fairly quickly that I needed more conditioning than that to keep up with this class.I have been doing this for a bit over 16 months now and I have to say the new skill sets I have learned are invaluable. I now have more confidence in myself and my ability to defend myself and those I love.I would wholly recommend the youth and adult classes to anyone looking to better themselves or to help their kids get more discipline.Master Richards is a great instructor of Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do martial arts styles.
Great place for kids and adults to learn tkd
