Ive been trying to cancel this account. I was charged $99 to sign up thinking it was a one time fee. I joined a zoom meeting and the girl kept going on about the shows they look for extras in. I had to join workshops and other things in order to be considered for a cast call. Im being $39.99 a month for something that is so bogus. I wish I never had fallen for this scam. I spoke to some people who are familiar with this kind of thing and I was told that businesses will never ask you for a payment for something you have not done a job for.

PRO TIP!! REAL TALENT AGENTS DONT ASK FOR CASH UP FRONT!!!This company had an online ad claiming to be running an open casting call for a TV show. Ive done extra work in the past and have gotten paid gigs off of advertisements I saw online for open casting calls, so I booked a zoom casting with them. Within the 1st few seconds I recognized the signs of a fake agency so I left the zoom meeting. I then received a text message from them asking me for money. I told them I had no interest with signing with them, so please take me off the list. The next day I got another text message from them, offering a lower rate. I told them again I was uninterested and told them I would be filing a claim with the FTC if they contacted me again. Today I received ANOTHER text message from them, again asking for money. It is hard enough being an actor without having to deal with being scammed! Please dont let them get away with this.

I went in for an appointment on a Friday and on Saturday, after I was given the explanation of how Nine9 works, they answered all my questions, and I understood my investment I decided to sign on as a talent on Saturday. I was able to quickly set up my account and submit my info to available castings immediately. By Tuesday I was selected for a featured background role on a popular TV show and already got to work!Oh and the workshops with the acting coaches are awesome and helped me prepare for my first job. In my experience, the staff have always been professional and welcoming.

If nine9 was such a great company then why do they continually text me after I told the company that Im not interested? I know Im a good looking guy and all, but I also know theres a lot of good looking people in the world that arent able to find success in the industry. Once I heard about the upfront fees I knew not to sign up right away and that it was a scam. I told them get me a job first & then theyll get my money. As far as going to open casting calls and trying to get an acting job?...well I can do that myself without giving them my hard earned money for absolutely nothing. Rather openly a fraudulent place. They work by bringing in a large mass of people under the pretense of finding background actors for shows and telling them about the basics of modeling acting and then calling them in to a side office one by one and telling them theyve made the first cut.Everyone is then brought back another day where they are told theyre accepted pursuant to stupendously large payment for not much in the way of services and signing a overly binding contract. When I was interviewed the second time I was told nobody would be sent out for anything less than a speaking role (which was completely at odds with what we were told on the first day) and just how large the fee was. When I asked for a day to talk about it with my partner I was told that I couldnt have that time because their photographers were on a tight schedule (hah) and that if I said no now Id have to go back through the entire process again. When I said that I had a professional photographer ready to do headshots and cards for me already I was told that there would be no discount from their services even though they werent adding anything. After I refused to budge on waiting a day to decide the initial person I talked to got her manager who basically took their offer out of my hands and then said that there was no way they could possibly wait another day. Judging by the other reviews here that seems to be a baldfaced lie.For your perusal I have attached the contract they wanted me to sign here. I simply recommend that you avoid the place.

I was immediately called for acceptance of the role and I have been happily playing Barry Allen as The Flash on CW for the past few years since 2014. Let me tell you people at first I was discouraged to pay the $500 back in 2010 but let me assure you it paid off I was able to play on the flash and actually was able to make date Iris West off the show and its all thanks to nine9!!!!!!! Being that I love scary movies & Michael Myers is my favorite serial killer, I decided to give it a shot.I filled out an online application & got a call, along with a text message soon after. Came off a bit strange to me that they were that quick with the response. Next thing you know, I’m on the phone with them & they mention a fee of $500 in order to get started & create a portfolio. On top of that, there’s a monthly charge of $40 or something around that. They’re a complete scam! Don’t fall for it. When something seems too good to be true, it certainly is. After reading all of the reviews I decided too write one of my own ! So I will start this off by saying there is NO LONGER a $500 fee, it is only $99 and today I made that grand investment . I honestly felt great about the whole thing, we had a zoom meeting and she explained alot and also explained WHY they charge money, they are different from talent agencies hence the “Unagency” that take a portion of your earnings when you are being booked (Not sure how accurate that is this is my first rodeo) vs Nine9 allowing you too keep 100% of your earnings ! So again this is day one for me as Nine9 Talent and I have a great feeling about this ! Hope my review helped

They really pursued me to come down. When I arrived and saw the amount of applicants I grew suspicious. A women spoke to all of us in a room. At that time I found out they were looking for people for all types of modeling acting and singing So this was not “only “ for the prequel. She also spoke of having head shot pics and resume that the company does if you are picked to proceed About 30 minutes later I was called into a room and asked a few questions I was then asked to come back the next day. I then asked if the head shots and resume will cost anything. The women said like you were told inside the other room about $400 to $ 500. The women in the other room did not talk about any fees. So this whole casting was about making 500 dollars to make up a pic and resume. If I was informed that prior to the “ interview” I would have never traveled from LI to NYC. They were very straightforward and honest about everything which gave me an overview of the whole industry. They broke it down in a way that I would be able to understand and gave me their contact information if I ever needed help with anything. I havent attended any workshops yet, but during the photo shoots, theyve been well. Its very relaxed and everybody was nice. Im a shy person, but I didnt feel that because they were starting conversations with me to make me feel comfortable and it worked. It was a great experience to be able to ask people who are already in the industry - questions about what we need to do to get to where theyre at. It was really cool and very informative. Called my grandfather who told me hes never heard of Nine9 and to steer clear.Turns out, this is not an agency at all. Most people are a bit confused about this. I am in the process of applying to actual agencies and it seems like a lot of the open calls for projects are available without going through a company like Nine9. Why would you offer an acting job on social media if the real purpose is to get $500 commission for giving you access to a platform? I bet thousands of people go there and they get away with 10 or 20 people that pays them this fee but Its basically a FALSE promotion in social media and a really easy way to make money by playing with peoples dreams. I KNEW THERE WAS A CATCH!! During my interview & call back, I asked questions that alluded to how Nine9 makes $$ if they do not take a commission from their clients’ bookings. “What’s this going to cost me” like other agencies (i.e. thousands of dollars for classes, workshops, and meet & greets with agents, etc.).Well they decided to move forward with me (👏🏾), but suddenly decided to be explicit yet nonchalant about fees. Of course I gave the “had someone mentioned it before” speech. I made another appointment for when I would have the funds. However, afterwards I went on Google to see Nine9’s reviews (something I should have done before, but hey...). Not surprisingly, but I came across mostly GRIPES about that “on-the-spot” $499 to become a member and the $39 monthly payments. I even came across a response from an EVAN who mentioned Nine9 dealing with the interviewers mentioning those costs proactively so potential clients could either have budgeted for it prior to interviews, so that neither party’s time is wasted, and / or to maintain the quality of service and reputability of their company. Is Nine9 really dealing with this issue. How do I know if this isn’t a money-making scam & that they will follow through with and stick to being consistent with finding bookings for me...? Should I take this chance... or risk 🤔😐

Of course you have to pay, it isn’t free (nothing is) and it’s a business, on top of all that YOU are trying to enter a billion dollar industry with no experience. Everyone wants to be either an athlete or in entertainment. Everyone wants to be famous without having to work for it and pay their dues. It’s been a great experience so far for me.

Not gonna lie, not really confident about this company. Based on what Ive read on the website, it seems to be structured like every other acting and agency scam Ive ever seen. You guys claim 15 years in the industry, but theres no evidence to suggest authenticity of your claim. Youve got no big names, youre pretty much expecting an up front fee 5 times that of any other system, and youre charging $40 a month for something a legitimate agency charges $100 per year for.Not to mention all of the bad reviews and dissatisfied customers you appear to have, based solely on the way you run things. If youve really been at this 15 years, it would appear to be that you would have not only significantly more reviews, but significantly higher ones as well. Gotta be honest, that doesnt instill a lot of confidence in your system. After my appointment, Ive come to the conclusion that, while you may not be scamming people, youre misleading them with the way you operate. I can host on Craigslist and find a dozen paid acting gigs for free, and land two or three of them. Based on what Im seeing in your reviews, you cant manage that.I realize you claim not to be an agency, but the simple fact is, weather you choose to accept it or not, youre operating as a go-between for actors and casting agents, that, by definition, makes you an agencey, weather you call yourself one or not.Now Ill give you a chance to prove me wrong. I have an appointment today at 7 pm, though, despite my asking via text, I still dont have an address of where I am supposed to be going. I know the when, but not the where. This is your chance to prove to the doubtful people that your agency is legit. 1 star until I can prove youre claims.

Great company. Very professional. No beating around the bush. Would recommend this agency to anyone interested in a modeling/acting career.

This place charges a lot of money. I went for the casting with my daughter. I also went to another modeling agency but this one charges way more. Its a 1000$ to sing up plus 40$ a month and your not even sure if you will even be picked up to do anything. The best way to get into modeling is to send your pictures straight to an modeling company. I wouldnt recommend this place at all! Save your time and money

I had filled an application on line which was a mixup...I explained my situation and they keep reaching out to me...I never acted or modeled before, so I have no experience, but as I read all these reviews it seems to me that this company prays on week minded people to manipulate a false chance at stardom, $499 fee and 39.99 month. You should be charging nothing until we get a casting and make money, then you should get a percentage..thats how you can make people feel like your a real company and not just a company deceiving people with false dreams and all your getting out of this is some money from people who dont get it and a tax write off...shame on your company .NINE9

So far my experience at Nine9 agency was professional, informative and all staff members I engaged with were kind, and very good at communicating what was expected of me. If you are signing up with the agency, there is the expectation of representing the agency as a professional. That narrative is evident when you visit the offices in NYC. I respect professionalism and I respect the brand.I do hope that this is the beginning of a new career for me.

Guys, especially young aspiring actors: Please, please, please do not give money to these people. I’ve been looking into them for five years— All their locations, despite being all over the country, are phony. It’s the equivalent of looking for for diamonds at a kid’s toy store. The fees are ridiculous, and you should be paying for nothing, period. The only thing you should be paying for is your own personal headshots, outside of an agency. And even then, a decent headshot for beginners should cost at least $60 - $150. Nothing like $500.On top of that, even if you get past the $500 + $39.95 per month, process, you’ll be paying for a near-useless membership. Workshops that you could attend locally, for much cheaper and maybe even free. This business is meant to manipulate you. Nothing more than that. Avoid it at all costs.

Everything seem so nice and well put together .but its the money they want because I have 2 child of my own and 2 step kids and I know there talented. But for each child its 400$ and change for pictures. If people who have money can do that they go ahead and do it. Now I found a new REAL agency who took my kids and have work perfectly. Moral of the story if your child is talented you shouldnt have to pay they should pay your child to do difrent thing.

My experience started off as a joke... to myself. I am a disabled veteran and I am currently unemployed. I was not sure where someone with my individual talents would find gainful employment. I saw an ad for an extra in a Tyler Perry movie coming up... eighties flashback. I received a response from Nine9 and after many texts and emails from them encouraging me to come in. Here I am now. Starting off in a field that was a past posssibility hoping to turn it into a future filled with great success!

My experience in one sentence: Misleading Publicity.I invite you to open your mind and not only read my opinion, this, in fact, is just my personal experience. Please take a moment to revise all of the above comments, good & bad and form your own opinion. They do exist and have a great internal structure in place, great staff & nice offices. However, their full sales approach in my professional opinion is not only False Advertising but is also Misleading. Why? They advertise and offer false & unproven opportunities to consumers in Google & Instagram ads. So once you are there, they now offer you a 180º different product. In person, they now offer you their true services: Headshots, workshops, and a monthly program fee to “maybe be eligible to participate in future shows.” Not what they initially offer in their ads. This been said, I don’t recommend this place. However, before I receive the “auto response from the manager of this place; the one that you can read in other reviews”, if, and only if they change their sales tactics for an HONEST approach, based in real data since the beginning, I would probably recommend their services to any aspiring actor, singer or actress out there.Sincerely,Diego.

They treat you with respect and are no where near rude. When you go for your appointment they do not ask for money up front like many of you are saying . If you aren’t what they are looking for they are still completely nice and from my experience they don’t judge anyone. I’m glad I gave it a chance even when seeing these bad reviews because if I didn’t I would’ve missed out on so much.

THIS IS A SCAM: This company uses casting calls from real, reputable companies to lure in prospects (mine was for HBOs The Deuce). The initial interview is a short interview and a headshot— they then invite everyone back for a second & final round and tell you to wear all black for a photo shoot in case youre chosen. From there, they charge you $500 to create a talent listing that they will apparently use to match you with opportunities. Good thing I didnt feed into this scheme after doing some research, including the 84 complaints on the Federal Business Bureau. I even confirmed with HBO that this company has a history of getting away with this.

Horrible. Do not waste your time here guys. They prey on the innocent and weak. They are not a real agency. What agency makes you pay $500 upfront?? And $40 monthly??? I am going to take this to the BBB. Do research people. Also, the people giving 5 stars have 1 review...hmmm.I also talked to Tyler Perrys casting director and she said that the post is fraudulent and they do not work with this agency.

Ive been through the first interview and saw no substance instead they asked for 499/- for professional photos. Do the math, if 50 people show up and pay $499/- Thats $ 24,950!! in one DAY!!! So imagine how they are affording a place in Mahnattan and cashing on by giving false hopes to people!! I asked around people in.showbiz industry NINE9 has ZERO CREDIBILITY infact people should REPORT THEM and make sure they dont rip people off of their money!! They are minting millions of dollars annually!!! Half of the people who attempt to get into acting.. wont pass SCREENTESTS because they are NOT PHOTOGEBIC AT ALL nor they have ATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY to be in industry!! SO SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY and look for renowned professional casting agencies!!!

I’m reading the reviews and i see a lot of bad ones saying you guys are a scam. The good reviews just say you guys provide great customer service. I just really want to know if anyone actually got any acting or modeling gigs after joining and paying all those fees? I’m curious.

Here is the honest truth, this place is all about making money that’s about it I’m sure they place your head shots on the Internet and hand them out but you have to pay them to do that they’re all about their money if your really wanted for a TV show or modeling or commercial etc. they will pay for everything I know this because my little Sister was in a few nickelodeon shows nothing big she wasn’t a mean character or anything she didn’t have to pay a dime
