These people are rip off!! I haven’t been in the gym for a year! Due to the pandemic. They are constantly trying to charge me for membership!! and late fees!! They don’t even have the classes that I want anymore! I’ve asked them to cancel my membership months ago!! Be careful with them! They will rip you off!!!

The Crunch Fitness located at 2 Cooper Place caters mostly to NYU students, and aside from the discounts towards NYU students membership they also give discounts to locals in the neighborhood. They reopened about a month ago, and they seem to offer a ton of self help classes.

They have a good selection of both cardio and weightlifting equipment. Some important weightlifting equipment you’ll find:- 3 squat racks (1 has a deadlift platform combo)- 1 deadlift platform- 3 bench presses, other chest machines,- 2 additional barbells- basic dumbbells, cable machines (you’ll find an additional one by the cardio equipment)- 1 leg press- kettlebells, and other basic equipment. What you will NOT find as of this date:- E-Z bars. Would be nice to have as it provides better support for your wrists, but not a deal-breaker for me.- Hip thrust machines or benches with proper/comfortable height for them. I even struggle to find a space where to do them. It’s nice that they have extra barbells, but just not enough space to even use them.Overall it’s a nice and clean gym. It will get very busy 5-7pm, but even then it’s not as crowded as other gyms in the area.

A clean, well-equipped, friendly (but not overwhelmingly so) gym with excellent training, both individual and class. Have been with my trainer about 5 years now!The No Judgements slogan is true at this gym—we are all ages and sizes! The classroom is on the lower level but is not, in my opinion, claustrophobic.

I have been working out here for a few years. Its a great gym. They have everything you need including being affordable and good hours. Im really impressed how they have adapted to covid times. The space is constantly being sanitized, social distancing, they monitor when people enter and leave for capacity reasons, and they take your temperature each time. I feel pretty safe here. Also the staff is friendly and nice :)

Crunch has been my gym for over 20 years. I am just so immensely grateful to have a gym to go to, where I feel safe and at home. COVID guidelines have been maintained, and Ive felt very safe working out at various locations in the city.

I recently joined this gym and I must say it is certainly worth while to leave this review. The gym is very well kept, especially during these times, which I very much appreciate. This gym is very spacious with lots of equipment that are in working order ... and the locker rooms are very well maintained (kudos to the maintenance staff).Every morning I go in I get greeted by the friendliest staff which I appreciate because I know how it feels to not be a morning person 😴The atmosphere is very motivating and I couldn’t ask for more.Whomever is managing this team and location is a BEAST ...Yes, I said that out loud as I wrote it. Thanks guys!

It’s great! I just miss the old building, it was a MASSIVE space and you had plenty of it. This spot is convenient but FAR smaller. Plus I just wish it wasn’t always a “little busy”. Sure I could get up at 4am everyday and avoid the people completely by showing up at 5.... but I’m only human. If it wasn’t for the consistent amount of people I would’ve given them 5/5, otherwise they are clean, helpful and they have a small downtime window between 5am-7am. 😉

Ive worked out at several Crunch locations and I really enjoy working out at this location.  This gym is welcoming, low-key and everyone Ive interacted with at this location is friendly. My personal trainer, Cynthia is an excellent trainer!  She is extremely knowledgeable about health and fitness and is very personable and super fun to workout with.  I highly recommend training with Cynthia if you want to get inspired and get into a great workout regime that is fun and effective.  Thank you, Cynthia!

I recently returned back to the gym last week Thursday after being closed down for about six months due to the COVID-19 epidemic they are really on point with the social distancing and disinfecting the facility. Very good gym to distress and to get back to your normal life. This is where I want to be and this is where I feel at home!

So gyms in Manhattan are really hit or miss and, unfortunately, you do NOT usually get what you pay for. I tried this place out back in January. I was not a fan. While it is large, it’s certainly not in charge, unless we’re talking about your wallet.A lot of the equipment seemed outdated. Even the weights and benches for free weights seemed old. And I’m usually not very picky when it comes to gyms. Usually this would be whatever but the rates they charge are pretty high for what you get. Lots of gyms in the area. I’d recommend checking out another. Please disregard this review if they have bought/updated their facilities since I tried it out.

Basic gym in NYC - gets packed post work. I had an issue here once and the supervisor who was on duty was extremely rude towards me. Theres another gym right around the corner, Id recommend that one.

They have more equipment than most gyms, just not a massive variety. Cardio on the first floor (the treadmills are all little wobbly) and weights in the basement. The basement feel is a little depressing but if you’re looking to get a decent lift in you should find everything you need.

I really enjoy working out at Crunch Bowery. The facilities are really nice and its run really well. The manager Louis and the membership advisor Ron were extremely helpful from an administrative standpoint. I used to work out at Equinox, and really feel like theres not a huge difference in quality between Crunch Bowery and Equinox Bond Street, except that Crunch is much cheaper and less crowded. The classes are great, the weight room is clean, and there are tons of treadmills and a lot of cardio equipment. I would recommend this gym to anyone.

Definitely one of the better Crunch locations in the city, but at times can be way too crowded, and equipment often just disappears from day to day (foam rollers mostly). Training was great, but the cost of the gym for what you get doesnt quite add up. There are cheaper gyms that offer way more.

Came here with a day pass to join the antigravity yoga class and loved it. The staff and instructor were very helpful. There are tons of classes to chose from and plenty of equipment use. I would highly consider joining this gym, but with other high-end competitors like Equinox, its a tough choice.

Worst gym ever! I joined this gym over a year ago while spending the summer in NYC and was very excited to continue using this franchise back home, they talked me into paying for 10 sessions with a personal trainer with the promise that I was going to be able to use them at the location back home (MA) since I only had time to use 2 sessions in NYC. Once I got to the new gym the refused to let me use the sessions there, after that I contacted the manager (and everyone else I knew at this location) to try to solve this issue, and they keep saying they were going to solve it but never did. After a year of trying to find a solution I still waiting to hear back from them and never got my money back. Wouldnt recommend it to anyone

Great selection of classes, low corporate membership rate, well maintained facilities, bliss spa products. Too many personal trainers milling about and people like to work out in the middle of walkways, but overall great especially for the price. Spin studio has better bikes than soulcycle and flywheel, with disco ball and plasma a showing stats. TRX, yoga studios are modern with good sound and lighting. Not too much noise bleed from gym to studios.

Rudy and Miguel are the rudest most crass set of human beings have everhad the misfortune of knowing. How do you make someones life a living hell for no reason. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. I guess this is the new route Crunch Fitness has decided to embark on, hiring and letting rude employees deny class passes and degrade paying member on top of it. SAD!!

I have been a member for 4 months. I had the most unpleasant experience with one of the trainers who works there. He made me feel very very *uncomfortable* and tried to *shame* me in front of his colleagues (other male trainers). If you are a woman, please be careful! I have already made a complaint to management and will be sending my report to the manage of this location.
