I took my ASWB Masters Exam on April 17, 2021 at the Pearson Vue Herald Square location.tl;dr: very chill experience, thoroughly sanitized and mindful of pandemic restrictions, clear rules. Room was warm (but bring sweater - not scarf - if needed).Tip: Eat a big meal beforehand, no snacks during breaks allowed!Everyone was very kind - even the security guard downstairs wished me good luck on the exam!When you first get to the 10th floor, you have to go wash your hands in the bathroom.Upon entering the Pearson Vue suite, they give you a sealable bag in which you put your phone into (you have to show them that its been turned off) and you put your phone, jacket, and other belongings into a locker.Security includes you showing them two IDs, getting a photo taken (without a mask), scanning your palms, turning out your pockets, showing your jewelry, patting yourself down, and examining your glasses.I had a bracelet on that the security guard wanted me to remove, but I told him it was for religious purposes and after I took it off to show all sides of it, he permitted me to keep it.At your desk, youll be in a swivel chair and you will have your locker key, your ID, and an erase board*. Theres a ticking clock on the wall. We had access to headphones and earplugs, but I found it quiet enough in the room to not use either. There is at least one seat between you and the next test taker. There are cameras above you and a panopticon feeling of a person at the security desk behind you watching the cameras and you directly.*The erase board is actually more of a notepad than I expected - its graph paper (checkered), spiral notebook and you have about 5 pages you can flip through. You get a marker and you can erase your writing with a tissue if you want.I stretched several times and moved around to let go of test anxiety. If you leave the room to go on break, you will only be allowed water from your locker (no snacks / food). Upon returning to your desk, the security will double-check your pockets and ask you to pat yourself down again.I found the room to be quite warm and someone dressed in more layers wouldve been overheated. They wouldnt allow me to bring in a scarf, so have a sweater with you if thats what you need.After I completed my exam, the computer prompted me to take a short survey about the facility, and then it gave me my results.When I went to collect my belongings from my locker, they had already printed out my results, congratulated me on passing, and told me to hang on to the paper - though they will email me the results as well.Overall, a great experience and very chill. Of course, the block of 34th St is busy, but in the testing room there are no windows or sound permeating from outdoors.

Streamlined check-in process, clean and comfortable testing stations. Staff was generally friendly, but a little behind schedule because doorman was missing at 730am. This also exposed waiting test candidates to very toxic smelling fumes from a coating that was being applied to the bus lane directly outside the entrance at that hour. Nice and close to Penn Station, so very convenient if you need to travel from LI on a Saturday for a test.

Great customer service from the PPC. You cannot enter the building until at least 30 minutes prior to your exam, Security at the entrance will not allow access. BRING A SWEATER! It is a Fridge inside the testing area! Staff that day was very polite, helpful and accommodating. Excellent distancing policies in place and disinfected/cleansed testing items.

I had heard so many horror stories about various experiences at Pearson Learning Centers, however none of those were actually true in my experience. The staff were very kind and helpful, and they made me feel relaxed about taking an incredibly stressful test. Not to mention, the center was very clean, comfortable, and tranquil. I definitely recommend this place!

For a testing center, this was one of the better experiences I had taking an examination. The staff was friendly, if a little terse, and the people made a good effort to keep you relaxed even though it wasnt their job. The establishment itself was organized and easy to get to, and the facilities had air conditioning which was a plus as compared to my last testing experience. In addition, the people were well-organized and it was easy to get a locker, get seated, and take an examination and I was actually able to test early and get out early which was a bonus. Like I said, its only as good as a testing environment can be and they could be a little more friendly but overall a pretty good experience.

Very helpful staff, and nice peaceful environment to take a stressful test. I recommend wearing clothes without hoods or pockets if possible, because they have to check all of these (as well as eyeglasses) every time you enter the exam room. So if you have to go to the bathroom, you lose time the more checking they have to do (the exam clock doesnt stop if you go to the bathroom or take a break). You can only eat in the waiting room, and they have free lockers for you to store your things. The only things you can take in the exam room is your ID and the key for the locker.
