Scheduled door-to-door service through OurBus to get me from my house to the bus stop for my 7:30 AM trip. At 6 AM, I receive a call that the service was canceled and that I’d have to find my own transportation. The customer support agent was nice enough, but there’s no way that I can rely on this sort of service again. Fortunately I was able to get a taxi on five minutes notice or I would’ve missed my bus (and my flight)
Tried ourbus for the first time a few weeks ago on a trip to and from NYC from Boston loved that the bus left right on time each way it also had comfortable seats and outlets to charge your phone/laptop. Strongly recommend 👍🏾
This was advertised as a bus with amenities. I am currently sitting in a three row van. No restroom, no reclining seats, wifi wont connect. Its arrival was also very late. This company needs to be more upfront about what they offer.
Bus driver Jay C. is truly the best. He knows what he is doing. He is very respectful and cares about his job and the comfort of the passengers. You can tell he has been doing this for a while by the way everything goes so smoothly. I have been on multiple trips where he is the drive and it’s alway the best experience. However when I don’t get him as the driver I never have a great experience. Maybe the other bus drivers are less experienced and don’t care about their jobs. Jay always makes sure everyone is masked up but I have been on trips when the other bus drivers didn’t care. If you get Jay C as a bus driver you know you’re in good hands.
I recently took a bus from NYC to Worcester. The bus was very clean and the company took extra precautions to ensure they abided by COVID guidelines. I also got to my location timely. Will definitely be using OurBus in the future.
Revising my review in light of good customer service and a good trip from Boston. Despite the frustrating first trip on 8/6 OurBus was responsive to my complaints and gave me a refund for the journey, which is a far better customer experience than most other bus companies. My trip on 8/8 was far better. The bus was quicker, on time, and took the most efficient route. The wifi was much better as well. That journey definitely won back my business and I will use ourbus again.
This bus company used to be good, now they’ve become just a more expensive greyhound. My last bus was old, hot and outdated. My bus today didn’t show up and none of us were notified. They don’t care anymore
Experience From Boston to NYC port authority morning bus, there was a flat tire when we were just 45-50 mins away from our destination. Unfortunately we can’t get out of the bus as we are on a state highway. No food no water service, we are waiting from past 30 minutes and now our driver updated that we will get the service folks to fix the flat tire in next 60-90 minutes that’s like crazy right now. Luckily I don’t have any meetings scheduled ahead, but I am feeling bad for the people in my bus who have flights, or other timely schedules which they are about to miss. Requesting OurBus to please look into this and help us quickly. There’s no fault of the driver. I don’t know how much stars to give but giving 5 just to highlight this on top. Flat tire repairer just arrived in 15 mins after the announcement and there’s an excitement and joy in some of us. Just hoping for the best now.
Compared to Greyhound they should have 10 stars, but cant see giving a bus more than 4. If going to Atlantic City, they are a much better choice than Greyhound. They are prompt, cheaper, and someone has thought about the customer experience.
OurBUS provides the best way to get to Atlantic City Today. Port autority you pay 4 time more then our Bus. Free cold water, very clean seats clean bathroom. We love it!

Another bad experience with ourbus.I had booked the door to door service from my house to the bus stop for my 7:30 AM trip from Ithaca to New York. At 6:45 AM, I receive a call that the service was canceled and that I’d have to find my own transportation. Finding another mode of transport so last minute and that early in the morning is impossible in Ithaca. Had to walk all the way to the bus stop. Fortunately, I reached just minutes before the departure time.There is no way anyone should rely on this service.
I had a bus scheduled for 10:55 AM in Newark. I’m currently staying in Morris County, so I had to get a taxi to Newark so I could get to my bus stop, on a ticket I purchased 6 days prior. I was even contacted by email to send a copy of my identification and I was given the go ahead 3 days ago to continue with my trip.I get to Newark, and I check my app. It says the bus is still on its way. I wait for 30 minutes until the bus is supposedly 10 minutes late. I decide to call and this is when I am told by customer service that my bus was canceled. It had been canceled before I had even left Morris County. But on the app, even now, HOURS later, it says it’s upcoming. I had received no call, no email, no warning. I had wasted OVER A HUNDRED dollars to get to Newark and back because the people at OurBus refused to notify me that my bus had been FULLY CANCELED. It was never coming but they decided to not inform their paying customer. They had so many chances to inform me, or at least rectify the situation. So what did they do? Refunded me and gave me a 10 dollar credit (as if I’d ever use their service again). I missed my event, and I’m over a hundred dollars in loss.Thank you for ruining my day OurBus.

Very nice, comfortable bus with leather seats that felt clean. Our bus was only at about 25% capacity or less.Tip: For those not from NJ/NY, Newark Penn Station is not a stop you want to be waiting at for long periods of time. Most stores/restaurants inside were closed. No sitting area.
I have traveled with them 4 times already, the process is fast to buy tickets online, the departure is on time, the buses are comfortable and with Wi-Fi, electrical connectors, my Last driver Luke have very good attentions

When we boarded bus (which was on time by the way), the driver asked for name and checked it off his list.Courteous driver and smooth driving.Clean and comfortable seats. The bus broke twice on the Ithaca-NYC route. The driver didn’t communicate our options. Ourbus use sub-contractors to run the services. So your journey is hit or misses. I would def. not take Ourbus if you are running on a tight schedule.
Bus was clean and roomier than some others. OurBus took adequate COVID precautions - everyone wore masks and only one seat per row was occupied. The bus was easy to catch and left on time. It did arrive half an hour later than anticipated, but there was some traffic along the way, so that was to be expected. Overall, I’d ride OurBus again.

Where do I begin? I ride OurBus multiple times a week and there’s always some really great standout drivers, but I HAVE to give a shout-out to frank. 3 weeks ago I lost a very important notebook that was CRITICAL for my career somewhere on the bus. Frank went ABOVE AND BEYOND his job when the book was discovered and returned it to me. I’m crying tears of joy that my book was returned to me. Every time frank has been my driver, it’s been a very smooth ride, and I can TRULY tell how kind and genuine he is not just as a driver but as a human being. He literally has saved my life on more than one occasion-now with returning my book, and several times before where I’ve noted other drivers or hazards on the road that could have cause an accident, but that he safely and promptly avoided and always got us from point a to be. Thank you SOOooo much frank and to OurBus!
Mixed experiences on my round trip from Boston to New York. Stressful and inconvenient schedule error on on my way back to Boston.I booked a round trip itinerary from Boston to New York City. My bus ride from Boston to New York was great; the bus arrived at pick up point about 15 min early to load and settle the passengers and left on time as expected. The bus had power outlets in-between seats and also had wifi as advertised ( I didnt use the wifi so I cant review how good or reliable it was). I reached my destination at around the promised arrival time.The way back was a completely opposite experience. My ticket (Ticket code: 2JBOR8) from the email sent by Ourbus which said the bus would leave from New York at 11:00 am; I got to the pick up point at least 15 min early with 2 other passengers and the bus never came. When we tracked the bus using the link on the email Ourbus sent us, it said that it already passed by at our pick up point at 10:00 am. Our ticket was scheduled for 11:00 am pick up. I tried calling the customer service but was on hold for a while. One of the other passengers got a hold of an agent from Ourbus and was told that the scheduled departure time was 10:00 am, not 11:00 am - but all of our tickets said 11:00 am. It took a while to convince the agent that we were given the wrong pick up time and that was not our fault. After a few minutes of back and fort with the agent, she finally put all of us on the next bus at 1:00 pm with a new ticket (Ticket code: U7JRBB). The bus actually came on time; the bus was a step down from the bus I took from Boston, There were only a few power outlets which were located overhead via USB port which also needed a long power cord to reach them - otherwise you would be holding your device up on your hand to charge it. The tray table was jammed so I had to pry it with my house key to open. The most inconvenience of all is that the bus ride took 5.5 hours instead of 4 hours due to late afternoon traffic which I wanted to avoid in the first place by booking the morning bus. Had there not been a scheduling error, I would have taken the earlier bus and gotten home earlier and avoided all the stressful afternoon traffic.The review score is based on my round trip experience: 5 starts for my trip to New York and 1 stars for my trip to Boston which averages to 3 stars overall experience. If you decide to use Ourbus, make sure you confirm your departure time the day before your trip to save yourself a lot of stress and inconvenience. I may or may not consider using Ourbus again.
Driver are usually friendly and on time. However, the WiFi never works. Made several reports to the customer service about it but nothing has been done. Also would suggest more early morning services for the commuters.
Poorly maintained bus. Wifi dead. PA dead. Power outlets dead. Driver thought he felt a wobble on a tire early on and kept driving anyway. About an hour later we had a major blowout on the highway. Driver tried for 15 minutes to get someone from ourbus to take his call. 3 hours later of miscommunication and confusion later we finally got back on the road.EDIT: Soon after I posted this review their customer service team decided to make things right and refunded my ticket price in actual currency. Much appreciated OurBus!
Very clean and I was very impressed by tips for how to stay safe in the bus while running. Compared to the other bus to Allentown in PA -NYC, everything is beyond exceptional! Especially PRICE. I was getting angry about the other bus service to NYC, who was the only bus service in the area, yes, there used to be two before but it got to the only one about 2 years ago. Then, no competition for the company, they have kept raising the price, almost every month. Especially during Pandemic. I was furious. People have needed transportation to NYC since March, they are the ones who work for low wages, they are likely essential workers, they can not work at home, then the company keeps raising the price 10% every 2 weeks??? Taking advantage on the workers?? No mercy??? Round trip is $80 now compared to $64 2 months ago?? They do because they can??? I know about the company well, they are totally fine in business, so I was so angry. Then OurBus started a business between Allentown and surrounded area to NYC !!!!! On peak, already 10% lower. off peak? 25% lower price.I want to add on one more. Also I can buy a ticket on their app by my phone. They manage 50% capacity, if they reach the capacity, I can not simply buy the ticket, so I know so. Compared to the other one, you have to buy a physical ticket at a gas station(!!!) then make sure to get a line earlier otherwise you are being cut if they maximize the capacity(100%, not 50%!!) on the bus, you have to wait for the next bus, for hours. You might miss to work in NYC on the day.Thank you OurBus!!!!! You are the BEST.
WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER. I bought a ticket for a trip on 02/08 from Nyc to Tysons VA. The bus had technical problems since the moment we started. After 10 mins of a scary and noisy riding, it stoped working and we had to wait an hour for another bus. The trip had 4 bus stops and they didnt drop me where I paid for. The worst part was when I couldnt find my suitcase that I left on the bus trunk. One of the drivers said he accidently left it on the street. This sounds ilogical, unprofessional and suspicious. If you read other reviews (like the ones on Trip Advisor) youll find this happened to other customers as well. Suspicious. Ive been calling Ourbus everyday, the customer service is incompetent and good at inventing excuses. Suspicious. Its been more than two weeks now and I lost all my winter clothes, my computer and stuff with personal value I cannot replace with money.Update: The answer I got today (02/24) was that they would reimburse 100$ only if I delete this review. What a shame. This is the way they treat their customers.
Traveling round trip from DC to NYC, there are many options for bus travel but I chose to go through Our Bus because the scheduling was convenient and they mentioned sanitation processes and covid safety protocols on their booking website, so I felt like it would be a good option. My bus from DC was completely packed with absolutely no regard for social distancing. Our Bus also advertised that there would be charging ports and WiFi on both of my trips and there are none of the promised amenities. I travel between DC and NYC often for work and definitely won’t be using Our Bus again. Spend your money elsewhere.
I went from having a scary horrible experience with another bus (hint: its gray) not practicing social distance and sat next to a girl that was using and doing some extreme things with a complete stranger. OurBus practice social distancing and does not allow drug use or any forms of intoxication. Where it is really being enforced. Seats were comfortable spaces and the driver was super uplifting and communicative. This will be my go to bus for now on.

My bus from the Washington bus terminal, NYC, had a delay due to bus maintenance. Ourbus called me the next day due to the technical issue, and they fully refunded my ticket.
I took ourbus this past Friday evening 9/13/2019 from NYC to Bethesda, Maryland. The bus stop in NYC was easy to locate and close to my midtown office. When I got to the stop 20 minutes early, the driver and another employee were there helping people load their luggage underneath the bus. I ended up not needing the luggage area in the undercarriage because the overhead storage area had more than enough room for my average sized dufflebag. The bus itself was clean and spacious with comfortable seats and footrests. We left on time and despite a little rush hour traffic we arrived on time as well. The driver was kind and kept people well informed as to when we would get to their stops. The stop in Bethesda is right next to the White Flint Metro station so it was easy and safe to get around once i got off the bus. The ticket itself was $10 and well worth the convenience, comfort, and even a free bottle of water I was offered.

Honestly my favorite bus company!! Thanks for always providing the best service and routes to nyc. Wouldn’t have been able to get through my college years without Ourbus. My most favorite aspect is that I can cancel and select another date because my plans change all the time. And I once left my bag in the baggage compartment and they worked/coordinated to get it back to me ASAP. Really thankful for the cleanliness and convenience. I just wish they had a loyalty program since I use them all the time. The drivers are also very nice and awesome!
Arrived at my destination on time. The seats were not very comfortable. My trip was only one and half hours long. I think the seat discomfort would become more of an issue on a longer ride. The price was right. On balance a pretty good experience.
Pleasantly surprised by this. Bus was clean, and most importantly, the wifi actually wasnt bad, which was a shock to me. Everything was easy, bus was relatively close to on time (much closer than my other travel experiences on other bus companies, airlines, and Amtrak). Overall good experience, although they pulled some shady stuff when applying a credit. I canceled a trip worth $60 and they allow you to use that credit to schedule another trip. I scheduled that trip and they said the new one also happened to be exactly $60, and they used the whole credit I have. Im pretty sure that second ticket was only $55 so I should have still had a $5 credit but oh well.
It was less than 20 people on the bus. Bright and early. The Driver was punctual and respected this Covid Problem. Great Driving. Definitely will travel with OurBus more. And great price .

I took the ourbus from Ithaca to NYC on April 13th at 7:30am to make a doctor’s appointment in the city. The bus was at half capacity. The windows do not open to create air flow which is what you want with Covid. While the bus driver made a statement in the beginning of the ride to wear your mask, and although there is a sign posted, there were at least 3 people who took their mask off as soon as they sat in their seats and before the bus even started moving in Binghamton and left them off for the 3.5-4 hour ride from there to NYC (there was traffic). The bus driver never checked to see if people were adhering to the federal law to wear masks. Now. I was so mortified. I put an extra mask on and did not take them off for even a sip of water. The policy should be, if you do not wear a mask you get kicked off the bus. That needs to be the driver’s job. That needs to be posted on the website. Instead, anyone on that bus may have contracted Covid. I will not be surprised at all. The bus driver and the company failed us. As a single woman traveling alone, I did not feel safe being the one to start a conflict on a long bus ride. I am in NYC and instead of taking an unsafe bus ride with ourbus home, I will be taking Amtrak and then getting a ride from Syracuse which will extend my trip 2 hours but it will also be safer than what I experienced on ourbus.

After the first time I used OurBus, I knew I’d never ride Greyhound or Chinatown bus lines ever again. The bus is super clean; including the bathroom and the seating. The WiFi actually works and runs efficiently throughout the whole ride. The prices are absolutely unbeatable, especially if you book your trips in advance. I love that the ticket policy is so flexible; I can reschedule without pain or confusion. Or I can cancel and be assured that my ticket amount will be credited to my OurBus wallet immediately. And lastly, I also enjoy that I’m always getting emails with promos, discounts and incentives. In my experience, if you’re riding to NYC or DC, you’ll be put off at a station. In Richmond, unfortunately there’s no station but they do stop at a convenient location easily accessible to public transportation or ride services.On a different note- I was both surprised & disappointed to read some reviews about OurBus losing luggage. This has never ever been my experience because I have the same driver every time and he is VERY thorough and professional about our belongings. I hope that his standard will be something that OurBus strictly enforces because I have been highly praising and recommending them for months. I would never want to risk my friends, family or professional colleagues having that experience.
The bus driver, Martin, got us there even earlier than we were supposed to. It was very cheap and easy to book online. I like the tracking feature of the bus as well.
OurBus is the ultimate Best carrier in NYS & perhaps in all the east coast. I can say with confidence, the only bus company that sacrifices Earning over safety for their patrons! While other big name bus carrier companies do exactly the reverse. How come NYS Governor or the County executives in the 50 to 62 counties have yet to thank OurBus for their forward thinking for safety during this pandemic? Easily my favorite bussing company. Ive tried Greyhound, Peter Pan, Megabus, Boltbus, and at least 1 Manhattan Chinatown bus, and out of all of them, OurBus has consistently been my favorite.Its been super reliable. Ive never had a late bus.They dont maintain a fleet of buses that grow sleazier over time; rather, they charter fresh new buses, so Im always a bit excited about which kind of bus will be arriving.Rather than send you way out into the middle of nowhere to board your bus, their pickup spots are super central, within easy access of subways and public transportation.Their staff is insanely friendly. Like, Ive had OurBus drivers greet me by name, and actually remember my name through the duration of the trip. Its a level of surface that simply is above and beyond.They come prepared with water bottles on board for anyone whos thirsty. This is critical for those days when youre on a long trip and need to hydrate.They also go to locations that many of the major busing companies dont even touch. I can get closer to my friends and family with OurBus than with almost any other provider.10/10 worth it every time.

We traveled from Ithaca, New York to NYC, George Washington Bridge Bus Center (GWB) and back.Your drivers were Great, pleasent, respectful, and professional. They drove very responsible.Every other aspect was impressive. Buses were clean, and impressive.We have traveled with your service before. Now, you finish at George Washington Bridge station (GWB), and start again there. We stay in Manhattan. To get to and from GWB is very difficult, and costly.Before, you had a stop in Manhattan, but no longer. Please reconsider your NYC stop pattern.Thank you,David

I bought a gift certificate that came with a promotion coupon in December, thats fabulously. But it didnt work when I tried to book a second trip. I called and a representative picked up immediately. She was courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. All taken care of in a couple of hours. I got my tickets. If not for the glitch in the coupons themselves, Id give the company 6 out of 5 stars.
There might me something dark going on with luggage, heard of two people I know that their luggage was randomly dropped in a stop without permission, and never found them or even call them to help.I used their services for a while and it was fine, but I won’t take that risk anymore.You should be more organized and have more responsibility.
This company is always so flexible with cancellations and has the best accommodations! This is the best bus service in the States, for sure. The buses are always comfortable and they provide complimentary water and wifi service. Most buses are updated as well and have outlets you can use. I absolutely love this bus service and would recommend it to anyone.

I cannot say enough about our experience with OurBus. Three “old ladies” took your bus for an overnight stay to New York from Malvern. Both of our drivers were very professional and wonderful. The bus was very comfortable and extremely clean. I was a little worried because I have never taken anything but a train. Well, that will never happen again. I am your number one fan. I will be taking you in the future. The pick up and return was very easy. I called your company quite a few times before my trip and you were very informative. Thank you again. We used it for a return trip to Chicago from Lafayette, IN. Both times the bus was in time and the trips were very smooth. Happy and friendly drivers that want to make the travel a good experience for the customers. Movie on the way. Although the cost was lower than other companies for the same connection, the services of OurBus are of high quality!
Our bus is my favorite transportation when traveling and I want secure on time SAFE, CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. The compliment of water and professionalism by each driver Ive experienced has been successful. I recommend Our bus to try and then youre hooked for Travel.
TIP: If you are trying to decide which bus to take between NYC and DC, I would not go with OurBus. There are so many bus companies out there that have cheaper tickets and more reliable service.I make a round trip between DC and NYC once a month and have taken trips with at least six different bus companies (I like to see whats the best out there). Let me just say that I have never experienced such a terrible start to a bus ride. The bus driver took ~20 minutes to attempt to pull up? fix? some seats in the back. Once everyone was seated, I thought we were ready to go ... NOPE the bus wouldnt start. It was another ~40 minutes until we all ended up getting off and reboarding a different bus. The bus was supposed to leave at 12:00 PM... we left at 1:08PM. Additionally, while the bus driver was in the back of the bus trying to fix those seats, it seemed like multiple people boarded without getting their ticket checked (???) and when the bus driver was trying to get the bus to start, at least five people got off and bought tickets for another bus company.Please make sure your buses are in working order before having people board them.2 stars only because of the Union City stop and the bus driver apologizing.
I prefer OurBus to all the other bus services Ive tried on the East coast. Their buses are cleaner, they almost always depart exactly on time, theyre cheaper, they have a loyalty program, and their staff is more professional.I love that I can track the bus ahead of time. Megabus, for example, is almost consistently late to arrive at the departure station, and they dont give you any sort of arrival estimate.
Excellent customer service! Adam S. was courteous and extremely helpful in cancelling an existing booking, crediting the amount and making sure that I could rebook for the number of passengers that will be traveling tomorrow. First time using this company but pleasant customer experience.
I had to change my ticket very last minute because of complications with my elderly father & forgot suitcase on the bus - customer service was EXCEPTIONALLY supportive. Gave me full credit & even extra coupon. Victor & Sam tracked my suitcase in minutes & Norman, bus driver, went out of his way to get my suitcase back to me. All in all, 6 different Ourbus workers helped - thats a lot of human help for bus tickets that are the cheapest around! And bus rides are fast, but safe & comfortable. Thank you so much!

I’ve used this service in the past but not a single day round trip.I’m happy to use this again for future trips but need different departure times leaving NYC.The Service Rep. was wonderful and went the extra steps to exhaust all possibilities. I’m grateful, thank you.
Good reliable company with reasonable rates. My first trip was in 2019 NYC-Worcester-NYC. The busses were new and super clean. The bus drivers were courteous, friendly, and helpful. Months later I booked another trip from Worcester to NYC and I made some errors while booking it, but the customer rep Anarug, who is kind and professional, was extremely helpful and fixed all my mistakes. Its wonderful to find a company that want to keep their customers happy. Although you have to book the trip on your OurBus App, you can call for Assistance and get a fantastic rep name Bobby to instruct you in booking your trip. While still on the phone, Bobby then checked your email to make sure it was booked correctly. Go Bobby !!!😀
Tried to book a bus ticket but the computers were down. The service reps stayed with me, even calling me back to confirm that I had a spot reserved at the last minute. They all are very polite no matter how many times you call to ask for help.
Great bus service. definitely the most comfortable and clean. customer service is also very helpful if you need to reschedule things or have other issues--Anurag was particularly helpful on more than one occasion for me!
Victor was kind enough to walk me through the cancellation policy and even offered to reschedule the trip for me. Really saved me a lot of unnecessary stress!

I like the fact that if you have to cancel there is a no cancellation fee and although the refund isnt given back to you, it goes to an Our Bus wallet. It comes in handy like it did tonight.I thought I got charged for the ticket because in other situations where Ive had to click on something to use my points, I wasnt sure if I did it right.I immediately contacted them (they have live chat), and the excellent customer service agent assured me I wasnt charged because my wallet credits covered the cost of the ticket, I paid nothing.Forgive my ramble please. Im tired, and this being the first thing I did for the day, I feel at ease and am happy.Geetu Was/is such a wonderful customer service agent who was able to put my mind at ease, was professional, courteous and polite. He even took the time to tell me the gate number.I recommend this company!
I had a really great experience travelling with OurBus today (11/8) going from Boston to NYC at 6pm. Our driver was professional, really friendly, courteous and got us there exactly on time! The only reason I give 4 stars was because the wifi was slow and did not always stay connected, but otherwise it was top notch service.
My Niece bought a ticket from Reading to NYC, when she arrived at the bus station the bus driver told her that she could not ride with her baby because children under 7 are not safe and not allowed. On this company’s website Children under 2 rides for free. If the company changed their policy was never updated on their website and as a result and fault of them she lost her vacation. Never again
OurBus is the best ride around! In my commutes from the Philadelphia area (Malvern) to New York, I tried different alternatives. OurBus is the most convenient, most reliable, most friendly and cleanest ride that I have had. For the value it offers, it is also cheap. Highly recommended!
Bus was on time, we got free water and the driver was nice as well. The bus is nice and I had enough space. Just make sure you’re on time!

The bus ride and convenience is great. My issue is that I bought a 49.99 pass that was good for 10 trips at 15.00 off per trip and thought it was a great deal. My schedule then changed repeatedly going to NY for treatment for my illness and I had to cancel or reschedule my trips only to find out that if you do this you forfeit a discount every time you cancel and reschedule. I ended up getting 2 of the 10 discounts and didn’t receive the other 8 discounts. I called OurBus several and was told that there was nothing that could be done about this.... I was very dissapointed in the response from OurBus. Wayne Bolt
The costumer service is really good and helpful. I made a mistake on the names and within 5 minutes after contacting them they changed it without any issue. On the other hand I have been on the phone with greyhound for 2 hours now and they cant change the name at all. No wonder greyhound is going bust.
