This was my third sail with Eric. I now use a Narwahl Charter experience as the gift for people who don’t need anything, for newcomers to NYC or impressing the most jaded city slickers. Eric is a knowledgeable and hospitable Captain. I can’t think of one area for improvement.There is nothing more surreal then viewing lower Manhattan, Lady Liberty or the Brooklyn Bridge in the quiet of a sailboat with an occasional sound of a buoy or a flapping sail. I highly recommend it.

Captain Eric was great. We have chartered the Genesis twice (once corporate and once personal) and I cannot recommend it enough. Eric is professional. The boat is exceptional and the tour is the best way to see the city.Would give 6 stars if possible.We will be repeat customers.

Sailing with Capt Eric and Narwhal Yacht Charters was a delight! It’s an amazing way to see the city and a unique activity. The sail was completely personal and Eric is a fantastic host. The city was very hot the day we went out but the breeze once we got out on the water was immediately noticeable! The boat was spotless, well-appointed and had an awesome vintage feel. I cannot stop reminiscing about our sail with Captain Eric! Celebrating a special 40th birthday with 5 close friends...could not have been held in a better setting. Our sunset sail was intimate, beautiful, and perfectly accommodated. Took a 2 hour sunset cruise with family and Eric and it was an absolutely amazing and delightful experience. The boat itself is beautiful and Eric is a consummate host; pointing out everything we needed to see and telling us about the New York Skyline and buildings. Theres no topping the experience of seeing the Statue of Liberty from a boat lit up at nighttime and steered by Captain Eric!

My friends and I went sailing at sunset on Captain Erics boat as a birthday celebration. It turned out to be the most magical experience with the most beautiful sunset on the city. We had an awesome time with Captain Eric last week. Its the 2nd time we chartered his boat and loved every second of it! We did a day sail a couple of years ago and a sunset sail last week, both have their own perks! But you really cant go wrong spending any amount of time aboard the Genesis. It was especially awesome having a getaway to look forward to, without getting away during quarantine/pandemic times. Truly a gem of an experience for locals and tourists alike.

The best sailing experience.I cannot think of a venue better than an open sea to be with our loved ones. Captain Eric made the experience a terrific one. He is knowledgable and engaging in his very gentle manners. He encouraged us to experience the boat and the sea. We helped raise the sails and pilot the boat. We were free to move about and lay down anywhere on the boat. All four of us loved the full four hours of experience. We would do it again.Making the reservation was a breeze. Weve lived in NYC for many years and this is hands down the best NYC adventure weve had! My boyfriend (now fiancé) surprised me with a private boat tour onboard the Genesis with captain Eric. It was an absolutely perfect evening with a light breeze and beautiful sunset beaming off of lower Manhattans skyline.We set sail through the Hudson River, starting at Chelsea Piers and wrapped around lower Manhattan while taking in closeup views of Lady Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. As we stopped at a point where we can see all beautiful landmarks for a photo-op, my man popped the question! It was truly a magical moment and couldnt have been more perfect being on board the Genesis in our own city. This was our familys first time sailing. My husband and I were a little hesitant bringing our 4 and 2 year old children along, but we had the ABSOLUTE best time. I am still basking in the glow of how wonderful it was.I booked a 4 hour sunset sail for my relatives who were visiting from abroad, and Captain Eric made us all feel right at home on his beautiful boat. He provides food and dramamine, blankets if you get chilly, and you can even bluetooth your own music!Captain Eric is a super knowledgable guide and overall great human being-- congenial and accommodating, very communicative and professional. He answered my messages right away and welcomed any further questions. You can tell he really cares about his passengers and has a gift for sailing, I guarantee you will be in good hands.His boat is immaculately clean and well-maintained (hes got a lovely history behind the boat, too!) and takes the smallest details into consideration. I have a lot of respect for his obvious passion for sailing & Hudson River area.Ive lived in NJ/NYC my entire life and learned so much I didnt know about the history of the Hudson River/all the boroughs/NJ. Not to mention, the views are absolutely breathtaking~ I didnt want the sail to end. I also loved that our group of 5 was able to enjoy the boat all to ourselves, and were able to bring our own snacks & beverages, too. With our own soundtrack, it was like heaven. This was a truly rare treat for us, and I imagine just about anyone would fall in love with this experience.Captain Eric even allowed my small dog to come along in a carrier because we were the last charter of the day. (Eric cleans his boat daily, so manageable dogs in carriers are allowed on the last trip in case someone on the next sail is allergic.) I can’t think of a single thing that could have made our sail with Captain Eric better. As a native New Yorker, I’ve seen this city from every angle, and somehow, after more than 35 years here, our private charter delivered new views and memories with the NYC skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, and Statue of Liberty serving as the perfect back drop. Leading up to our sail, Eric was appropriately communicative, and during our sail, he made our group feel entirely safe and comfortable. Could not recommend him any more!

Excellent experience. A great sunset cruise around lower Manhattan. We sailed by the Statue of Liberty, around Governors Island, up to the Williamsburg Bridge for a view of midtown at night, and back around downtown to Pier 25.

Second time sailing with Eric on the Genesis and he makes an absolutely splendid experience. He is an accomplished sailor so youre at ease in the busy NYC harbor. He tailors the trip to your liking and will engage if you would like interesting facts and history of New York or he will leave you in peace to enjoy the sunset. My husband surprised me for my birthday with an AMAZING trip on Narwhal Yacht Charters; this was the perfect escape. Everything from beginning to end was perfect! First of all, Captain Eric’s boat, the Genesis, is stunning and fully restored by him! He made us feel comfortable from the minute we stepped on the boat and was so knowledgeable about the NY waterways and every landmark we saw; he is a master at his craft! I decided to take my girlfriend for a sunset sail from 5:00-8:00 for her 31st birthday last week and we could not have asked for a better time. The experience was smooth, effortless and enjoyable - from beginning to end. From the start, Captain Eric was responsive and communicative. We stopped by Chelsea Market for some snacks and brought them on board without issue. We also brought along a bottle of champagne. Further, Eric had some snacks and drinks available below deck like water, soda, chips, sandwiches, etc.We sailed around the battery, under the BK and Manhattan bridges, up close to the SOL, and back up the the piers. Could not have been better.Highly recommend using Narwhal Yacht Charters for any occasion. I know well be re-booking for something with more people, probably a group of 6 or so.

I can only highly recommend booking a boat tour with Eric on his beautiful yacht. What an experience to see the city from the East and Hudson rivers and be able to pull up right to the statue of Liberty. I particularly liked the fact that we used the sails (had to turn on the engine when the winds were not strong enough). This vessel will only take up to 6 people - so much more personal and enjoyable than being on a big cruise ship. Eric is a very experienced captain and knows a lot of interesting facts about the city etc.

Our cruise was everything wed hoped for and more -- thrilling and relaxing, sociable and personal, and a spectacular way to re-encounter the city from waterside.Captain Eric is incredibly personable, masterful at handling his beautiful boat, and full of information and interesting stories about the harbor and the city.We brought some picnic food to augment the sandwiches, chips and fruit Eric provides, as well as wine and beer. We didnt need much. Hes got it all covered.The 4 hour cruise was absolutely wonderful. We look forward to doing it again.

There are standard yacht tours in New York and then there is Erics yacht tour! Eric is the most down to earth guy you could meet who meticulously looked after us from the minute we stepped photo foot on his amazing boat. My breath was taken away the first time I saw the boat and felt more than comfortable proposing to my partner as Eric manoeuvred the boat for the perfect sunset photo while on one knee! We both felt like we had known Eric for years and it was a once in a lifetime experience sharing his home and views of the stunning New York skyline.

We got married while sailing on the Genesis and it was a fantastic experience. We feel very fortunate to have celebrated our special day with Captain Eric. It was a perfectly beautiful sunny summer day and Erics friendly, calm and easy going demeanor set the perfect setting for our small group. My mother -- who is normally nervous about the water -- was COMPLETELY at ease.Captain Eric worked really hard to make our day perfect. Eric scouted a great location with calm waters for the ceremony and to shoot wonderful pictures. He was punctual, which was super important to coordinate with our reception since afterward it took place at the nearby Liberty House. He responded to emails and texts quickly, which is also a great relief when planning a wedding.The day was perfect. I wouldnt change a single thing. My highest recommendations for Captain Eric and the Genesis. We are so happy the beginning of our marriage was on the Genesis!

Fantastic voyage! Cant say enough great things about our excursion with Captain Eric. 4 blissful hours of NY sight seeing from the water. Up close and personal views of Lady Liberty, the 3 bridges ..all the while not having to think about hoisting the jib or lifting a finger to sail this easy even keeled comfortable boat. The Captain not only provided snacks, even vegan - gluten free goodies but pitched in with a bit o history at the helm. Loved it and am ready to book again. Happy to support this fellows dream. Captain Eric will be sailing all your trips for Narwhal Yacht Charters, and he will make it worthwhile. He has the rare combination of professionalism and fun. Even as some with the hospitality background, his level was service was remarkable. We sailed on a not-so-gorgeous day but the trip was still above expectations.

We had the most delightful cruise at sunset with Eric and our close friends. Professional, expert sailor and as knowledgeable as any NY tour guide. We hope to sail again with Eric and highly recommend him and his awesome sailboat.

The cruise was four hours of a private sail around NY harbor. The views are amazing and Captain Eric was a true professional. He has done his homework about the area and gives the perfect amount of interesting, enjoyable, fun commentary. This sail is four hours you will never forget. I will sail with Captain Eric every time I return to NYC. Do yourself, your family, and your friends a favor and go on this cruise. You will love every second!

My interaction with Captain eric via email alone was awesome. We were on the 4-hour sunset cruise. What a heavenly experience. We are already working on getting our friends together for a future sunset cruise. Captain Eric is very accommodating and has a great personality. What a joy for us. Fantastic and unforgettable experience with Captain Eric! We really enjoyed sailing along the Hudson and East rivers, especially going under Brooklyn Bridge and around the Statue of Liberty. The breathtaking views of the NYC skyline and Hoboken/Jersey City were amazing and well worth our trip. Highly recommend. Its evident that sailing is Captain Erics passion, and he makes it so that guests (both experienced and first-timers) are having a good time. We had a mix of both with us and the 4-hr sail had positive raves from everyone.

Since getting engaged on The Narwhal a few years ago, weve sailed with Captain Eric every chance we get. I grew up sailing and find this charter to be the best. In fact, this summer Im hoping to introduce the newest member of my family (were having our first baby any day now) to sailing on this beautiful boat. Its that safe and that fun.

I celebrated my birthday on Captain Erics impeccably maintained yacht. He was extremely hospitable and knowledgeable without going overboard with information. We all felt very comfortable on his boat and agree it is a must-do weekend activity!
