Another great sail with the Clipper City Ship! We have done over 4 sails on Clipper, and it never lets us down. It is a larger ship, so if you want a bit more space and feel like youre on a VESSEL--this is your ship. Always, always memorable. The crew is solid, friendly and easygoing. Great stories from the fellow passengers who are celebrating, visiting or just wanting to enjoy the river. Booking is easy and the crew makes you feel comfortable from the moment you board. We havent been on this ship since the pandemic started, so it was a joy to return to it and see the renovations. Great job Manhattan by Sail team!! The best way to view the city whether youre a resident or a visitor--we still feel awestruck after 15 years here!

It’s a vibe I enjoyed myself not fully knowing what to expect. The sunset cruise is a perfect way to start your night off. I wouldn’t recommend taking kids it was a bar scene without music or food just drinks and laughs.

My girlfriend and I sailed on the Shearwater for Sundays Champagne Brunch cruise. It was a unique experience like no other.What a way to view the NYC harbor! The food was delicious. The drinks were plentiful. The staff was very kind and helpful. I would definitely sail with them again.

Everything was great. Great customer service. The only reason I took one star off because of plastic cups for wine tasting. I understand there is always concern for people dropping wine glasses, but we are all adults there, no kids. Would definitely prefer enjoying my wine from a wine glass, and not plastic cup.Otherwise, everything was excellent, and crew was amazing. Young lady( I am sorry I forgot your name) who was serving wine was very knowledgeable, kind, pleasant, and able to answer questions about wines.

What an amazing end to such a busy first day in New York. We booked this cruise via AirBNB. The process was easy, the communication was top-notch, and the experience was worth it. We accidentally took the wrong subway but thankfully we we’re able to communicate with Tom to get us to the right place! I appreciate that he was available and patient with us while we figured it all out. Once there, we were greeted by such a friendly crew. The water was quiet and the lights were beautiful. I was able to chat with the bartender to find out the best pizza spot and the view of the Statue of Liberty at night is GORGEOUS! I was slightly worried about sea sickness because of past experiences but was never affected! PS remember to bring cash for a tip for the crew!

Although I enjoyed the cruise mostly because I was reunited with some of my high school classmates…I must say that the ticket price wasn’t worth it. For the “snacks” we received 1/2 of a bagel with the choice of lox and bacon. Also, I would’ve enjoyed more mimosas…although the very nice gentleman Benjamin…graciously walked around and gave champagne refills. Also, there wasn’t enough seating on the boat. I suggest either getting a bigger boat or lessen the number of guests. The staff was GREAT and accommodating…so this is why gave it 4 stars!

The ride itself on the ship was pleasant. The sites were very good also. The problem with your program is that you do not inform people of the history or information of sites that we see. There was some kind of fort with a cannon on the top we would have liked to know what it was. The Governors Island could have used an explanation. The histories of the statue of Liberty, the Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge also would be great to know. Why did they put two bridges so close to each other? I am sure there were many other spots that would have been of interest (Ellis Island). You claim to have been sailing for a long time, SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE. PROBABLY WOULD HAVE RECEIVED MORE TIPS.

It was a nice ride to see the sunset from the water. The crew was nice, but if you want to be entertained dont go with this. Its not a sailing tour, its a diesel powered sail boat! $75 for 2 hrs??? I could have taken a different ride, half the price with someone telling me a few interesting or fun facts about the city. Something...

This is a 4.5 . The boat trip and crew are lovely and polite.There wasn’t very clear seating for people and that was a bit awkward.Otherwise, once we set sail and move around … ahhhh lovely . Also, 2 hours is totally worth it.Thanks again.

Beautiful well maintained schooner! Friendly bartender and an overall great experience. My only complaint is the music - it was awful. By no means was I expecting a dj, but the radio tunes really detracted from the cool vibe of the boat and NYC vibe. With that said if they fix that element it’s a winner all around!

We had such a nice tome on our sail yesterday afternoon! We got so lucky with the beautiful weather and the views were phenomenal. The crew was amazing too! Would definitely recommend this tour and I’m looking forward to trying some others (they mentionwd a jazz music sail too!).

We did a jazz cruise for my birthday and had a lovely experience! Crew and Captain were wonderful and friendly, and my guests really enjoyed the sandwiches we ordered. The jazz music added a very nice vibe and complemented the cruise nicely. If you are looking for unique birthday or party event, would definitely recommend.

Yesterday was my girlfriends birthday and she really wanted to be around a body of water. Unfortunately, we could not travel to a beach but finding this experience was all we could ask for! The staff was incredibly hospitable and responsive and I cannot thank them enough for making my girlfriend and my day! The sights and scenes from the boat were amazing, I highly recommend!

Very enjoyable cruise. Pleasant crew, nice enough passengers, great views, wonderful experience.I booked through NY Sightseeing Flex Pass. At the end of the cruise, they quickly solicited my review for TripAdvisor. However, at the time we disembarked there was some confusion regarding the billing process. I got no responsive to my calls and texts until 24 hours after the cruise. Strange that they quickly requested my review, but could not respond to my calls/texts. After 3 days, the billing issues were finally sorted. Great outing marred by a clumsy billing process. They could easily avoid this result by sending a text that the Flex Pass credit card charge would be reversed within 3 days at the same time of the review request. It would also be good to answer the phone and texts timely. I feel confident that they better sailors that business managers.

We had a beautiful sail. The crew was fantastic, especially Heather and Austin. We have been sailing on the Clipper City for 9 years, and have always had a great time.

Staff was very friendly. Trip was pretty short. Would have been nice to stop for a few minutes in front of the Statue of Liberty for more pics. Also, would be nice to hear a little bit about what we were seeing (neighborhoods, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty etc.). There was no talk or information unless asked. Overall, great views and good family pics!

Fantastic views. Boat goes around to front of statue of Liberty for great pics. Was fun to pass under Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. No shade on the boat, so bring a hat/sunscreen. Staff is very nice, but the check-in/boarding was disorganized and they need a better sign of where the boarding takes place. Thankfully they sell drinks (alcoholic and non-alco) on board because it was hot in mid August.

Someone got this for us as a wedding gift and we had an amazing time. It was a nice amount of time with beautiful views of the New York harbor. Taking photos at the bow of a sail boat with the Statue of Liberty right behind us was an experience we’ll never forget. Learning about the history of the boat was fascinating, and the crew was really friendly and welcoming! If you’re looking for a NYC sightseeing experience you don’t get everyday, this is it.

Went there spontaneous while hop-off the Big Bus and could make a reservation for the tour 30 minutes later. Very uncomplicated with the New York Pass. Walking around a bit till boarding and then we’ve had a lovely sailing with the friendslikely team through the Statue of Liberty. Was a 90-minutes Tour and in the End we were able to watch Brooklyn Bridge as well. Highly recommended! Thanks to the team!

With the situation of COVID they were not interested in protecting the people. It’s a small ship that 150. When I’m my opinion it looked for 50 people taking prior measurements and security and protection for civilian to aboard the ship. It looked like a pirate ship that it was supposed to be for 50 people and they pushed 150 in that small boat. My opinion I didn’t like it. At all. Never getting on that boat. Strongly don’t recommend it

We had our time all planned out and when we show up for this, the crew informed us they cancelled and should have let us know. This was something we specifically chose to end our sightseeing on a high note with sailing and the Statue of Liberty.In the end there was a little misunderstanding on which of the two boats we should be on and we made a mistake. The company was very accommodating and helped us finish our trip off with an excellent time. The crew was especially nice, helpful, and very very cool with us and our kids.

Oh you have to go on this! Dont take the ferry when you can sail! Crew is not very chatty but the bar tender is friendly. They get all who are interested to Hal the sails! Booked the wine & jazz cruise for my boyfriends birthday a few days ago, and we had the most INCREDIBLE time. I had lots of questions before the sail, and the company was very quick and thorough with their responses and in explaining their safety measures. Staff was friendly, funny, and professional, and everyone seemed super excited to be there. On top of it, the music was SO beautiful. We were spectacularly taken care of, and we can’t wait to go back.

We booked our tour via a NYC pass and they sent us an e-mail a couple of days before saying changing hour and putting another address. Fortunately we had time and figured it out where to go but I would not recommend to choose this tour using your pass. The cruise was ok but too noisy with loud music.

My trip was re-scheduled three times to different locations and times. When I showed up for the sail it was running very late. I had limited time in the city and had to leave. I was offered a rebooking but could not be refunded. I recommend choosing a different company if you are looking for a boating experience in ny harbor.

In the past, I would have given a 5 star review. This particular experience was not like I expected. The boat was much smaller than the boats used in previous years. It wobbled a bit more wjich made it feel more like you were on someones personal boat as opposed to a ferry, and I kinda like that. But it was also harder to move around and take pictures.The most disappointing thing about this cruise was the food. The lobster rolls were served on slider buns with barely any lobster meat on them. It was as if they were serving lobster rolls for a middle school lunch. The lobster rolls were tiny with no meat,, cold and pre-made. In the past they had companies like Red Hook Lobster Pound on board serving you fresh and hot lobster rolls.Im sure some of the disappointment comes from precautions that needed to be taken due to Covid-19. But it would have been nice to know of some of these changes prior to buying tickets. I bought several for this summer and referred some friends to do the same based on experiences from previous years. They were a little disappointed as well. Overall the weather was nice and you get great views, but the food was not good and it felt a little tight on the boat.

The city lights cruise was a last minute addition to my New York itinerary, but likely the most memorable. INCREDIBLE views of the city that never sleeps. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. I felt extremely safe on the historic ship. I would do it again!

6 of us went out on the shearwater Lobster and Beer sail and it was so great! The crew was awesome and friendly, we especially loved the bartender Ben! I would definitely recommend going out for a sail with them.

What an amazing sunny Sunday afternoon spent out at sea. I’ve seen this beautiful sailboat pass by every day while I was out on roofdeck & thought what a terrific way to spend a day! I did the Food & Wine tasting sail which leaves out of North Cove (WTC) at 4:30pm and we sailed out to Statue of Liberty around the harbor for 2 hrs. The snacks were tasty & the wine ohhhh so good! It’s a beautiful classic old school yacht, wood finishes…the crew was amazing, and it was a nice group, not crowded. I highly recommend it!

I just went out last night on the Shearwater wine and jazz sailboat and it was fantastic! The crew is friendly and are great at managing and running the boat, they are laid back and sweet people, the jazz group is fun and accomodates the music if they can (last night they let a great Punjabi singer sing some arrangments accompanied by them as we came back into the harbor and it felt very New York City to this New York City girl), the route is beautiful and the sunset was to die for. I will definitely be coming back this summer with the 20% off next trip coupon they gave us. It was a blast!

This was the worst “experience” based on advertising. 2 hour all you can eat / drink cruse on a sailboat. Reality, a box lunch, cheap Prosecco that ran out 1 hour in. No place to sit on an overpacked boat. All advertising was false and we got a full refund due to the extreme poor quality of this cruse

This is not a tour- no information on the buildings, river etc.The ship itself needs work. The gangplank was broken and could hold only 2 people at a time.

I took the midday jazz cruise. It was a really good experience. It included drinks and, I thought, it included food as well, but it didn’t. Also thought drinks were unlimited, but it was only 3 free drinks. However it was a good variety, of beer, wine, and two cocktails (our choices were a screw driver and dark n’ stormy). I had the dark and stormy and it was pretty strong. I was good off of two with an empty stomach, so you may not need to exceed the 3. Overall, it was a beautiful day, the boat is gorgeous, and the crew is nice. I would do it again.

First off, when I first booked the tickets for my godson and me, I ordered them for the wrong site. Customer service was lovely and helped me to rebook for the preferred site.We had a wonderful sunset cruise on the Shearwater! Safety protocols were spot on. Crew was welcoming and professional and made sure that everyone had a great time. Godson recently turned 12 and is interested in sailing, and they were wonderful and engaging with him. He loved standing at the bow. We will definitely do this again!!!!

It was the highlight of my friend’s birthday. I found the experience via internet. Made and paid for experience which was cancelled. As per policy found another engaging experience. While the time and perhaps part of the experience would be different. It was without fail. Not any issues to rebook. Credit was applied, difference was refunded promptly. Crew was professional, lively and very engaging with guests.This is an absolute must for tourist and homegrown alike.

A wonderful experience from booking until the end of the cruise. The staff were extremely helpful, courteous, and fun, and the boat itself is gorgeous. Our sailing was smooth, and the musicians and free flowing wine made it even more of a party! We mingled, watched the glittering city slide by, and marveled at Lady Liberty (no matter how many times I see her, it never ever gets old.) Thank you so much for a much needed night of magic. We will be back.

After being cancelled twice due to rain - despite their website assuring sailing is an all weather activity and boats leave the dock rain or shine - I finally got to sail. If you want to call it that. Half the sails were raised for show and we motored very slowly out to the Statue of Liberty and back. Thats it. And dont even get me started on the Oktoberfest food. We were presented with a bratwurst in a foil warming envelope, cold, a bun in a foil warming envelope, cold and damp, and a cider donut in a wax paper envelope that was hard and dry. That said, the trip was still pleasant and sometimes you just have to set aside the small stuff and enjoy whatever experience you are having. The crew members were helpful and friendly and their customer service was very responsive when I was charged for tax every time I had to reschedule my reservation, not only immediately providing a refund of the duplicated fees but offering a voucher toward a future sail for my inconvenience. If youre expecting a trip for adults who seek an active yet refined sailing experience it may only meet your expectations if it is quite windy and the goal is the sail, not the tourist photo op. I think I might try again on a trip not including food (you are welcome top bring your own if you like) and during a windy season!

This was a great date night experience. The weather was beautiful, a bit chilly but very clear so it was a perfect opportunity to see the lights of the city. We went right out to the Statue of Liberty which was beautiful all lit up. The staff were very professional and friendly and made the experience even better. Would highly recommend! 10/10

Such an amazing experience. The staff are sweet and the wine options varied and were all delicious.

Our initial sail was the week before 9/20 but last min. changes happened and Meaghan was super responsive via email in helping me secure a spot for the following weekend. You can actually bring your own snacks if you have dietary restrictions and would prefer your own snacks while sailing. We did the 1:30 shearwater wine tasting sail, it comes with a cheese plate, individually boxed for each person. We tried at least 3 different wines on the sail. They are very generous with refills.It did get a bit windy when we got out to sea away from the dock, be prepared for your hair blowing in all diff directions and the cheese platter rolling away from your sitting area. The water was not rough when we sailed, no motion sickness pills needed. There is also a bathroom on board. The captain let’s you in his area in the back and you can steer the boat. Overall it was a very enjoyable sail and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend activity.

Ive been doing what weve call within my social circle the beer boat! for at least 10 years, if not longer. It has never failed to be a lovely day on the water around manhattan. Its calm. The staff is attentive but not intrusive. Theyre doing their job but if you want to engage them they are personable and fun. I cant recommend this event enough.

Wonderful! The team at Manhattan sail was incredibly responsive answering my questions via text prior to making my reservation. Had my reservations and fears due to social distancing but they are following all protocols and making sure everyone is safe. We were able to celebrate my mom’s birthday and I cant tell you how wonderful it was. The sailing was lovely it felt like a private charter. The crew was kind and friendly and they have a cash/venmo bar which is very convenientCant wait to return!

It was a great experience, either go during the sunset or take the night sail! The crew was very friendly and fun to talk to! Make sure your phone is completely charged... mine died half way through, but I got photos of the statue of Liberty all lit up and some good pictures of the city and a full moon in the background.
