David does an excellent job giving me a straight-razor shave each Friday, all the while preserving and cultivating my sideburns. He is also accommodating and friendly.Zooming out, the barbershop as a whole is clean and welcoming (but not too welcoming, ha—you New Yorkers know what Im talking about…). On the Mark Barbershop is a place I dont at all mind going weekly, and when I leave the ladies certainly dont mind my immaculate mug.

I walked right in and David Nisanov saved my previous haircut. Cleaned it up, knew exactly what I was looking for, and worked incredibly fast. This one is going to grow out beautifully.

After Covid-19 took its toll on the city, and everyones hair, I was a bit unsure about where Id get a haircut after so many months, and, frankly, what style Id get. Im not into a very fussy, salon-type experience that consumes an hour+ of your time & charges a fortune. At the same time I didnt want to sacrifice quality. Id walked by this place several times and the space looked clean, chic and friendly. I decided to give it a shot, feeling a bit nervous on the way. My anxiety disappeared the moment I sat down with one of the barbers. I shared my thoughts on what I wanted to have done and he threw some ideas back at me. What followed was a really comfortable and positive experience which, to top it off, was nowhere near as expensive as it could have been. I loved my haircut and walked away feeling glad that I chose to go there. If youre feeling the way I did, trust me, youre in good hands. This is my definition of a well-done business.

I have been going to this barbershop for over 4 years. It was the first one I’ve been to since I moved to NYC and I’ve never considered going somewhere else. Great atmosphere for getting a cut. Personally, I get mine cut by Albert. He always out performs my expectations and provides enjoyable and comedic conversations. These guys do a fantastic job.

EVERY single time I go to him, multiple people mention, unprompted, how nice my hair looks.Most of my friends group now goes to different barbers there and were not only happy, we look fresh.

On the Mark Barber Shop always provides a lovely experience for a hair cut. Izzy was particularly accommodating. Listened to my concerns and wants and delivered the exact hair cut I was looking for. He even cut my hair slowly to ensure he only cut as much off as I liked. This place will become my go to place for the perfect hair cut.

A wonderful hometown barbershop charging reasonable prices for a haircut. Current rate I believe is $28.00. Ive been coming here for nearly 2 years and have sat with Mark nearly every time. Hes almost always ready for me at my reserved time +/- 5mins, which is great. Important note: its cash only, they likely dont take venmo but have not confirmed that. Theyve got an ATM inside the shop though it does charge a service fee. Theres also a Bank Of America ATM a few avenues over, and Mark always accommodates me running to it after a haircut when I find myself without cash. Get a reservation online if you can, and use Mark! Great place, highly recommended!

I’ve been to countless barbers in NYC and very few are as good as On the Mark. The haircuts are always very good & consistent, and you can’t beat the prices. They also have a really easy reservation system which makes it great to schedule an appointment. All my friends go here, too.

I got into NYC for a 2-week summer course at NYU, and had limited time to get a haircut and beard trim while around. I read that Izze does good fades, so I signed up for a cut and beard trim. He did really great work, and he also hit all parts of what I needed: crisp fade, solid beard trim, and even scissor cutting my longer hair on top. Even lined up everything with the blade too. He got a lot of this done in the allotted time, so I appreciated that. Nice vibe in the shop and easy to sign up for appointments. Reasonable prices too.

Really good barbershop. Its very popular for obvious reasons, so depending on who you want to cut your hair, you might have to make an appoint a few days in advance. If you dont have preference you can probably walk in. They are pretty consistently good, Ive had a few guys cut my hair there.

One of the best barbershops in Manhattan. For $35 you get a fresh cut and beard trim, they really listen and know what theyre doing. I came in very ignorant about clipper sizes and they helped guide me through what to ask for next time and even gave me a touch up a week before my wedding to make sure everything was fresh.They also opened a new location across the Avenue which is much nicer and very open. Happy to have found my spot.

The best haircut Ive ever received was from Roman. Hes literally the only barber I trust with my hair. Im super particular and with Roman I dont need to be anxious. I truly feel like I leave the chair 10x sexier than when I came in. Not trying to gas him up or anything, but hes worth the time and money. Plus he ends the cut right with a shot, get on his good side. Hes a gentlemans gentleman, and his cuts, service, and courtesy reflect as such. Barber for life.

Walked right in with no appointment and was seen immediately by the dynamic, warm, and friendly Izze. Beautiful cut and he trimmed up my beard which was in desperate need of shaping. This place is THE place to go if youre looking for a nice quaint place that always has high clientele volume. Its like that for a reason - the barbers there are great guys that strive to cut your hair to your desire. Theyre also a group of down to Earth guys that are always willing to chat. The prices are fair, and the service is great. Call in ahead and try to schedule something if youre going during the weekends so as to avoid the long wait that they usually have. You really wont regret getting your hair cut here!

My friend Troy recommended OTM to me. I turned up at 7pm on a Mon night, the place was packed. They turnover the seats v fast though. Good music, friendly atmosphere and guys talking and chatting as they wait for their cut. Theres even a bar.Albert did a top job on my hair. V happy with the results, service and experience. Definitely going back. Ive found, at last, a proper mens barber in NYC. You should try them out if you havent found your right barber yet!

Maybe the other guys are good but mine was sloppy and rude. He couldnt even be bothered to move around my head, he just spun me around 180° in chair.He was also on a video call at the same time and just forces your head around with his hands all over your face. At the end he tried rushing me off, I had to ask him just to get a view of the back of my head with the hand mirror.Ok haircut, but terrible service. Dont go here when therere so many better barbers in NYC.

I love this place. The guys are nice. The haircuts are affordable. The quality of service is top notch. They even give you a hot towel for your face before they shave you... for like $20 you get the full service! They do shape ups, tape ups, fades.. you name it.

Had my hair cut by Eli. He was quick to rush me in and out of his chair seemed more interested in chatting to his friends than paying attention. Dont be deceived by the professional scissor holster he wears and his own manicured look. This kid knows nothing about cutting hair and even less about manners. He needs to go back to barber school and maybe someone can teach him some kind of proper barber chair manner as well. Wasnt worth the $17 + tip at all. Next time Ill go back to my old place and spend the worthwhile $30 and have my haircut correctly and in a friendly manner.

I havent had my haircut in years but decided to try this shop today. When I arrived there were several men either being worked on or waiting. As a woman, I sometimes find barber shops initially intimidating. Not this one. Not only is it conveniently located and inexpensive but the atmosphere is calm and efficient. And Al gave me a lovely haircut in no time! I would happily go back again.

Just being in the shop makes you feel cool. I went in for a beard trim while growing out my hair, but after seeing the cuts they were giving I almost abandoned the man bun. Beard turned out great, too.Looking forward to checking it out again the next time Im in NYC.

Haircut was pretty rushed. Back of my neck was increasingly sore on the way home. Come to find out the edges were done very sloppily and my neck was cut pretty badly. Going to take a few days before I have this giant red slice on my neck go away. Very disappointed.

There were four barbers hard at work when I arrived on Friday night, and there were several guys waiting to get their hair cut. This was a good sign.Upbeat techno music and movies playing on the TVs helped the wait passby quickly. There were also plenty of magazines available.I had my hair cut by Roman, who was friendly and great to chat with. It was awesome to share the Russian Jew connection, so we spent the entire time chatting in Russian about the immigrant experience, growing up in the US and the joys of Jewish moms.My cut was precisely executed and neat. I never do anything complicated, but I could tell that from the other guys the barbers can handle any mens cut you throw at them. A straightedge neck shave rounded out the experience. Perfectly priced at $17. I highly recommend it.

Been going here for a few years now. Guys are funny, and I have never left with a haircut I was doubtful about. $24 for a cut at the time of writing this, but so worth it. They spend a LOT of time on you to make sure youre perfect.

This is regarding the previous review about eli I walked in there after reading a review and saw the only negative was about him, I hoped I wouldnt get him but with my luck guess who I got? Anyways I want to tell you that he was professional, courteous, and attentive. He made sure I was okay with everything he was doing, not forgetting to hand me my glasses! He cut my hair, shaved my face and washed me after my only regret is that on a 50 dollar tab I only tipped him 10. He deserved more but thats all I had! If you ever read this eli, Im that guy from queens who moved to st louis!
