I started at the Max over 3 years ago mainly because I was looking for a gym that offered group fitness classes at 5AM. And what I found, in addtion to challenging workouts and the most amazing trainers, was a community of friends with a common goal~to be the best version of ourselves. We support and inspire each other, to show up, work hard, and be our best. The Max facility is and always was spotless and the owners and trainers respect protocols to keep their members healthy.

Just finished my first 10 week Max Challenge. Was looking for a new gym as my former gym closed due to Covid. Found so much more - amazing trainers who are warm and welcoming to all, friendly and supportive people to work out with, spotless gym that feels safe and inviting. Never the same workout twice so its always fun and the ability to level up or level down for individual needs very easy to follow. The classes are so much fun! Really great program with tons of support and the trainers are very careful to make sure all excercises are being done in proper form to avoid injuries.

Friendly staff, extremely clean, many weights and machine options to choose from. Huge floor space, so distance is not a concern. I feel completely comfortable being there despite whats going on outside.

The MAX is a great place to work out and even more now during the pandemic, I was able to continue my workout routine at home with pre-recorded and live ZOOM videos. Ive taken classes different times of the day at home and in person where they have ensured safe distancing and everyone wearing masks. The MAX of NP didnt skip a beat during the pandemic and supported our fitness, nutrition and health goals.

I joined the Max program in Oct 2019 and a few weeks into the program I knew that I would be staying on after the initial 10 week challenge that I signed up for. This program is a combination of a nutrition program and exercise. The nutrition program is not a fad diet but a wholesome program which ensure you get enough of your proteins, good fats, carbs and veggies. The classes are lots of fun and they ensure that they change things around enough to keep you motivated. I attended the classes at New Providence NJ. With the pandemic hitting, the center did an awesome job of moving classes virtual and went above and beyond to help with the nutrition program with loads of content on Facebook etc. I cannot recommend this program enough, its not just a fitness class its about switching to a healthier way of life.

I love the Max in New Providence. Amy and Al lison are so professional and listen to their members. I just transferred to this one in July because they were offering outdoor classes during the pandemic. It was just what I needed!!!! Keeps me sane and the crazy menopausal monster doesnt come out. I am so glad I transferred. The best place ever!!!update: I am coming up to my one year maxiversary since switching to New Prov. The Max is not only a place to work out, its an entire support system. I joined in January of last year, and am so glad I did! Everyone who works at the Max is supportive, enthusiastic and caring. During the quarantine, when so many of my friends were gaining weight and feeling sluggish,I lost weight. the trainers, managers, and owners continued to find ways to motivate us. They constantly provide daily inspirational tips and nutritional coaching.. I really cannot say enough good things about the Max. They really stepped it up during Covid - multiple live zoom workouts, pre-recorded workouts, and when it was safe enough, in-person masked workouts!! They are going above and beyond with all of the safety and cleaning precautions for COVID. Amazingly well run center from owners to the trainers. Check it out- you wont be disappointed!!

The Max Challenge Fitness Program is like no other and the Max of New Providence is my happy place. I joined in September 2018 and I even today I still look forward to each day. I still get excited like it’s my first day. The workout can be as intense or as low impact as you like. Everyone workout at their own fitness levels with just the right amount of push and motivation from the trainers. I personally have lost 29 lbs since I started, lots of inches lost and feel a whole world better, lighter, less cloudy and wonderful. Definitely a great place where you will see results if you put in the work. The nutrition is easy once you get the hang of it and everyone is so so nice. It’s definitely worth your investment!

If youve put off joining a gym because you dont already look like a body builder or are intimidated by the amount of different exercise equipment then I urge you to try out the Max Challenge! What caught my attention on their Facebook ads was it looked like regular people exercising in a group atmosphere and once I joined, I found it was exactly that! I like to think of it as your best P.E. class in school with all your friends. The Max Challenge makes exercise fun! It’s a great gym! Great instructors, great people, great workouts. I love that it’s classes and not machines. Everyone is so encouraging - completely non-judgemental. The food plan is great and easy to follow. My only regret is that I didn’t start a long time ago. 5 stars!

I have been a member at the Max Challenge of New Providence for almost a year and a half now and I have nothing but great things to say about this center! Motivation is all I can think of when it comes to the Max. This is not just a regular gym with weights and machines. Once you walk in to this gym and become a member, even if you come is as a guest, the people in the class will welcome you like a family member. I think of the Max as my second home and I encourage everyone to take the time and give it a try. I promise you, you will not be disappointed!

This is not a gym. Its a support system for your mind, body, and spirit in an extremely welcoming and non -judgmental atmosphere. I became a member first, then I became a trainer. It was AMAZING how both the corporate and our centers teams rose to the challenge when COVID-19 pushed fitness online this spring. Since then, Ive felt the same level of motivation, camaraderie, and support whether Ive taken a class virtually, outdoors, or safely in the center with a multitude of sanitizing and safety protocols in place.

I’ve had numerous of gym memberships and tried different diets.Surprisingly enough, I’ve been going to the Max for over 6 months, 4-5 days a week and plan on continuing for 2020.Everyone (trainers and members) have been welcoming and very supportive.I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel better and stronger, the weight loss is an added bonus of course.

I have been coming here since May and I’m down about 40 pounds. Regardless of weight lost, I feel better, sleep better, and am more confident in my day-to-day. Clothes fit and I feel like I’m looking good in them again! The people that workout here are AMAZING and the instructors are some of the nicest and most motivating people I’ve ever met in my life. They created a virtual program like no other...with zoom recordings AND live zoom sessions. When the nice weather hit, they found a park where we can safely work out together. When the center was able to open, they recreated their space following all the cdc guidelines for safety. Additionally, they CONTINUE TO do live zoom and recorded meetings for those members like me who are not ready to go in person. The support here is truly amazing. Oh, and did I mention, they committed to not raising the fees...actually they reduced members prices!Thank you to the Max for allowing me to be a part of this special family!!!

The MAX is not your typical gym. There is no machines, you are the machine completing a 45 minute cardio or strength training workout that is never the same. The 10 week challenge is the first exercise program I have EVER stuck to. I saw results after only 10 weeks of this program coming to classes and following the nutrition plan and eating the MAX meals. The instructors at the MAX are all extremely knowledgeable, motivating and energetic. I could not imagine my life now without the MAX!

My wife has been coming here for about a year now and has made great strides in her fitness. She has drastically improved her fitness and health.Prior to joining the max, she couldnt even walk up a flight of stairs without getting our of breath. I love the Max. The instructors are awesome and they make working out fun! When the pandemic hit they adapted quickly, offering virtual classes so we could continue our program. I am in the third week of my first challenge and it has been truly inspiring so far. It has been great to meet people that have seen real change in their fitness and health. The trainers are fantastic and make the workouts fun. I like the fact that the workouts can be tailored to meet the individual fitness and (dis)comfort level. The most important factor for me personally is that now I am accountable to them and the class and showing up at 6 a.m every day! I love the support that you receive at the max. Not just from the staff and trainers, but from the other members. You truly become part of a team. There is no judgement, no one thinking that they are better than the next. They help you stand up off those mats, and help push you out of your comfort zone when necessary because they know you can do it!! Everything is straightforward with the nutrition component, but they also provide you with sample menus in case you get stuck. I have joined a number of gyms in the last few years since I’ve become a parent, but i never stuck to it. With the max, it’s been 6 months and i will never turn back! I love it!! I also think it’s super important how flexible they are. Just because you sign up for one time, doesn’t mean you can’t attend another time if your schedule changes. There are no hidden fees, plus it’s cool to get to see what type of classes that different trainers put together!

I like the flexibility of being able to switch class times as my schedule requires.I love that everyone works at their own ability level in the workouts. Everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves at their own level, but you never feel like you have to keep up with everyone else in the class. Everyone is very friendly. Now that gyms re-opened, they have implemented safety procedure but if you aren’t ready to be in-person, you can still enjoy a solid program from home. Definition of the word “Home”, from Webster dictionary -“A social unit formed by a family living together”I get incredible workouts, great nutritional habits and results from the Max of New Providence, but is also a second home for me.The social unit is strong; we support each other encourage each other, motivate each other and even share recipes with each other, just like a family. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 11/2/17 and over the next 8 months, I had a mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemo and 25 radiation sessions. During this time, I realized I needed to make a change so I could live. For most of my life, I put everything but myself first. I started my first Max challenge in August and it has changed my life. They have taught me to take time for myself, how to eat right and stay fit. The team is supportive and encouraging and have never made me feel like I could not succeed. I have never felt better! I highly recommend this program, you will not regret it!12/21/20 Update:The Max of New Providence/Union opened back up in August and I cant emphasis enough how impressed Ive been at the number of safety precautions the centers is taking. You only need to look at the before and after pictures of EVERY Maxer to see that the MAX Challenge works. My weight and fitness level have fluctuated since college and, even when I was working out consistently, I was never able to out-train my poor eating habits. The MAX Challenge provided me with a platform that combines fitness, nutrition, and accountability - exactly what I needed to lose weight and get into the best shape of my adult life. Updated review- It has been another 3 years since I posted my review, and I am STILL at THE MAX!! Throughout the Pandemic, the team came together so that members wouldnt miss ONE SINGLE DAY of their workouts and support. THE MAX went virtual, held outdoor classes, and got us back into the Center as soon as was allowed...and now, were mask optional as well! The trainers continue to be the BEST in the area...classes are fun, varied, and effective! Its still my home away from home...and now with the InBody Scale addition, you can REALLY see your progress each step of the way! Come join us!!The MAX Challenge is not just a gym- it is a family. A place where people go to not only lose weight and build their fitness, but also to make friends, get a daily dose of motivation, and enrich their spirit! 10 Week MAX Challenge – One of Best Decisions Ever!MAX Challenge in New Providence and Union New Jersey offers an amazing and unique approach to Wellness and Weight Loss. I took the leap and joined MAX 10 Week Challenge back at the end of September. I have been nothing short of ecstatic with that choice. MAX Challenge is a franchise concept geared and driven to assist individuals in efforts to become more physically conditioned, improved body toned and weight loss. In just 12 weeks, I have achieved all three and now continue on to even more improvement by extending my involvement with MAX beyond the 10 weeks. To date, I feel more energized and healthy; have lost more than 19 inches in five overall body areas of measurements and have lost 25 pounds.Allison, owner of both locations has created a family atmosphere that makes it fun and enjoyable. She know everyone by name. There is overt friendliness in all that they do. There are numerous exercise classes throughout the day that makes scheduling to attend extremely easy. Ron, my training instructor at the 7:30pm class in New Providence, is an overwhelming example of a great fitness instructor. He has been associated with MAX for over 2 years. His personal improvement is a testimony to the success of the program. Ron knows everyone in class and makes it personal. He recognizes each person’s level of ability and provides an exercise routine with modifications for all. He has a great way about him with regard to congratulating you for what you are doing as well as encouraging you to attempt to work harder. He exhibits a high level of energy throughout the whole class. It is become of him that I am encouraged to exercise beyond what I think my own capability might be. Every exercise lesson is ended with an inspirational message and encouragement to continue on and to become the best version of ourselves. We are constantly reminded that improved health, body toning and weight loss is a combination of both exercised and healthy eating. One alone will not do it. The Max Challenge is a great place to set your New Year’s resolution of getting fit and eating right. You work out 5 days a week and each week you’re on a manageable and easy to stick to meal plan (a meal plan that makes you eat right). None of that fad diet plans. No need to fast or not eat a meal or a liquid diet. Eating and exercising the right way. You’ll also meet great and wonderful people who encourages you to do your best. The trainers are awesome too.2020 was a tough year for all. Though COVID hit our state and shutdown everything, that didn’t stop the MAX. They posted virtual workouts from DAY 1!! Who does that??? 🤷🏻‍♀️The MAX did.The MAX team of trainers kept their members working out every single day of the week. They scheduled several (not just 1 but 3) recorded workout every day. Then they did virtual live classes. The trainers were always there to keep their members motivated with their inspirational statements; and just being there in front of us to keep going. The MAX has filled a gap in the fitness world for people like me who want to get healthy and fit but don’t want 1. the expense of a personal trainer or special food, 2. to go it alone or as one of a thousand in a fitness class. This is exactly what I needed: early morning workouts during the week, a sensible nutrition plan complete with a weekly Treat Meal 😊, a motivating trainer, and a terrific group of teammates! What can I say about the Max (of Union and of New Providence)? The Max is the best place to work out that I have ever found. I started my Max journey in January of 2015 and with the exception of vacations, work away from home and one week when I was sick, I have attended every day. The owners of these two Maxes, Allison and Amy and their trainers are always there to encourage, commiserate, teach and help us on our way to a healthier lifestyle. I would recommend (and I have) joining the Max to anyone who is serious about their health. The Max is a judgement-free zone, where we all work together realize our own healthy path.

One year ago: The Max is the solution to your health goals, especially those that you’ve attempted to reach numerous times unsuccessfully. If you want to finally succeed, you should give The Max a try! It is all about you and your success at The Max. The program is for everyone, regardless of fitness levels (different versions of each exercise are demonstrated to accommodate everyone on the mat, so no excuses). The people are wonderful and are genuinely interested in your wellbeing. The Max team is captivating and you always feel positively engaged in whatever fun events/healthy competitions that happen periodically. It is a very fun place to say the least! I started late March 2017 and by December had gone down 4 dress sizes and 80 lbs. I am living proof that it works!!Update: One year later... I still feel the same way about The Max, and I am a heck of a lot stronger because of it. I look forward to going to class everyday and working out with awesome fellow Maxers. The MAX is not your typical gym. There is no machines, you are the machine completing a 45 minute cardio or strength training workout that is never the same. The 10 week challenge is the first exercise program I have EVER stuck to. I saw results after only 10 weeks of this program coming to classes and following the nutrition plan and eating the MAX meals. The instructors at the MAX are all extremely knowledgeable, motivating and energetic. I could not imagine my life now without the MAX!

This program has really changed my life. I actually get so excited to wake up every morning at 4:10 to get ready for my 5am class. I never thought Id say this. The support you get from the staff and even the members are incredible! They become like family. I remember my first week, I was so excited, I woke up before my alarm every morning! Im on my 3rd week of my challenge now and I havent felt this good in a very long time. I have several injuries and I love how they offer modified exercise if needed. They really take the time to make sure you are exercising the proper way and they really push you to work hard. They remind you of your why in every class. And when you feel like youre about to give up, they help you push through. The best part, I already feel and see results!! I feel amazing and I am so happy I got introduced to this program. I feel like I have my life back. I cant wait to push harder and see more results. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun and hard working workout with guaranteed results. The Max is great! It gives me extra energy to start my day. I am an extremely picky eater and the nutrition program is easy enough to follow that even I could find food to eat. Update for COVID. Max did a fab job rapidly pivoting to deliver an enhanced online experience - classes, support and nutrition. Provided continuity for those who lost income. Has continued to lead in safety precautions, innovate. evolve and motivate - I actually dropped another size March through May 2020! Great program to get cardio and strengthening toning in 45 mins a day. Trainers, site manager and others in class really help support you. Nutritional program plus consistent activity gets results.

Ive been a member since July 16. It has been the best decision I have made. I could barely walk at the time. Just recovered from a Staph infection in my knee. Talking with Allison the owner and my trainer Matt at the time we agreed to make the best of it. Showing modification to every exercise. Which by the way I still use when the knees dont feel right. I have since become a trainer as well. The program does work. You get out what you put in.

I just completed my 3rd week of the challenge! I am so fired up about the MAX--it is the best exercise and fitness program ever. It is wholistic including the mind, body and spirit. The instructors are excellent and the community spirit is awesome. I have been trying to shed midlife poundage to no avail. I tried on my own but I just couldnt do it. It has been almost 3 years since Ive joined the Max. In my first 10 week challenge, I lost 26 pounds and my goal was to loose 30 pounds. Why I love The Max of New Providence...As an instructor I asked my class to get in a group of three. I realized right away that one group was formed of 3 new members. I needed to change that. As soon as I told my class everyone started switching groups so our new members were with legacy members.This is what makes The Max of New Providence different!

Amazing program of HIIT workouts (cardio and strength) with nutrition. I got a lot out of staying with this so I decided to turn in my old gym membership. Ive not had any better (and lasting) results with any program ever.
