Cara Jones is the best colorist/stylist! Everyone at this salon is professional, personable and fun. Highly recommend this salon.

I started getting my haircut by Chris Varnado a few years ago in Baton Rouge where he was one of the citys most sought after stylists. Hes so good that I make the effort to visit him at any salon that hes working at, and Im not the only one!Im always impressed by his skill, versatility, and consistency. From clean cut fades, to longer hairs styles, expert hair color ( hes dyed mine white, silver, pink, teal, blue, and red!), and even beard trims. I can count that Chris will listen to me and deliver what I want. Plus hes got a great fun personality to top it all off.I would highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for a professional next level haircut & color.

Gabby is great! She was super inviting and friendly as soon as I walked into the salon. Asked me if I needed anything and made me feel very comfortable. My hair was a mess from a previous stylist from another salon who’s name I will not mention but needless to say I will continue to go back to Salon Diversions. Gabby works miracles and my look did a complete 180. Love love love it!!!!

Ive been a client of Cara at Salon Diversions for a few years now. I am always very satisfied and impressed with her knowledge and expertise. She always colors my hair perfectly and spends time before starting to know exactly what I want from the visit. I frequently am complimented on my color. I never believed in spending a lot on salon products and Cara always recommended but was never pushy to sell product . Once I tried the color conserve shampoo, i was hooked...my color stays much longer and my grays dont show for almost a whole month. All of the staff are required to continue education and it shows in their work. I hear about new methods before they become mainstream. The salon is very clean and comfortable. The front desk is very polite and always calls back when I leave a message. I recommend Cara and any other stylist at Salon Diversions.

I have been going to Salon Diversions for at least two years now, and I just love it! The staff is so friendly and helpful — which can be challenging to find in the tourist-filled Quarter. I see Jenn regularly, and she is just THE BEST!!! She listens to how I want my hair cut, and she does a phenomenal job every time! I can’t say enough great things about this salon. I drive down there all the way from Uptown because I like Jenn so much.

Jen has been doing my hair weekly for a few years now. Everything from cut, color, blowouts and conditioning. She listens to me as to what I want to have done and does it perfectly. All the stylists are very knowledgeable about hair and just as sweet as they can be. I couldnt be happier.

I cant thank her enough for being truthful and honest, allowing me to make decisions - but her honesty saved me from unknowingly rocking a mullet - for that I am thankful! Salon Diversions is the best salon in the French Quarter. Everyone is super talented, creative, and friendly. Hands down the most convenient FQ location right on Royal. In addition to great color and cuts (thanks, Jenn), they do extensions, event hair, and makeup!

I have been going to Salon D since 2006-ish. I moved in 2010, but make an appointment the moment I know im going to be back in town. Cara is absolutely fantastic!

Easily the best place to have your hair done in the city of New Orleans. Ive been a client for more than five years and I know that whenever I step foot in the salon, Ill come out two hours later with a spring in my step and looking perfectly polished up. Its a relaxing and airy spot that never feels fussy plus its filled with all of those ahhhmazing Aveda smells. Curl up in the chair with a glass of the house vino and you wont regret taking the time for some pampering!

Ive been going to Salon Diversions for yearrrrrrrs now (probably at least since 2012), and as long as I live in New Orleans, I wont go anywhere else. Cara is a great stylist and the whole staff is friendly. I love the excuse to take a little adventure into the heart of the French Quarter, and once Im inside the salon its always a relaxing and enjoyable experience. They use Aveda products (which smell so good!) and I always get a nice scalp massage while having my hair washed before my haircut.

Awesome! How great is this place? I only live in NO part/time now, but I schedule my trips back to coincide with hair cuts. Theyre that good here. Especially Cara. She is a 12 on a 5 star scale!

This salon is fabulous! If you want to feel welcomed the minute you walk in and leave loving your hair, check them out. It’s no surprise that when initially looking for a salon, Salon Diversions was frequently recommended.Gabby is a hair wiz, always getting my balayage just right. She is the bomb with extensions too! Questions are ALWAYS answered and she is so patient when explaining how to keep your hair looking awesome.

It took me 32 years to find someone that could handle my insanely thick curly hair. Andrea Is amazing! The entire staff is friendly and the whole experience was great! I would and do recommend Salon Diversions to everyone i know.

After the person who cut my hair for 15 straight years died, I searched for 5 years to find someone as great. Cara at Salon Diversions is that person. Ive gotten to hang w her a few times outside work, & shes a delight, but I cant say enough in praise of her cut, her color, her taste, her kind & positive energy, & her recommendations in products (also, she has fantastic taste in clothes, & her own hair is just a joy to behold). One of my best friends has her hair cut by Lorna (one chair down) & her hair has never looked better. Going here always feels like a treat: I get a nice walk through the Quarter & then I get to relax, laugh, & know that someones going to make good hair decisions for me. Its been a stressful few years for pretty much the entire world. I cant recommend this experience enough.

I am going to write a brief but honest review. Last week I needed a tone for my platinum hair. Gabriella was very good with achieving a great silver and blue hue which my hair needed. However I am very regretful that I allowed her to trim layers into my curly hair. She dug into the back of my hair and added way too many layers which made all the chemical breakage in my head of hair stand out even more. I have very wavy, frizzy hair. Gabrielle made a huge mistake getting my hair wet when I told her a dry cut would be better. I thought she would know what a trim meant. She did not shape my hair she added so many layers that i have a head full of haircut mistakes that will now take two full years to fully grow out. She does not know how to listen obviously and at least I was given a full refund because this haircut is so awkward I will not be able to even put it up or wear it in a ponytail till the top layers grow down to my chin. She got scissors happy and all she really had to do was even out the back but instead she kept chopping into the interior of my fine wavy hair. Dont go here for trims they just dont know how to listen or maybe I just had the misfortune of having a bad stylist. This is one of the most over texturized cuts I have had in a long time. Awful I feel scalped. It will be a very long time before I trust anyone to cut my hair again. There was a lot of hair for her to work with and she chose to over texture my hair so my hair looks dull, lifeless and a complete mess.

Took me in right away and did my hair so beautifully!! Should I find myself back in New Orleans and in need of a haircut, Ill be back here!! Thank you so much girls!!

My wife (whom was already blonde) went here to get a highlight, paid almost $300 for a less than 2 hour service, and left with purple and gray hair. As if that wasnt bad enough, the owner never even offered to fix or refund her. Theres a million salons in New Orleans. Go somewhere else. The salon sucks and so do the people running it. Theres pictures of what they did in the comments of my wifes review on their FB page.

I went to Salon Diversions as an out-of-town client for my wedding. Gabby (Gabrielle) did my updo. Earlier in the week, she lightened my hair some so that there would be some brightness in my hair. She also did my makeup. I thought she had a terrific eye for color, and left my hair just beautiful. She had a great deal of patience the day of the wedding since we did my hair twice, because you never know how the look you want will actually look on you. In the end, she really worked with what I was looking for and added a lot of her own suggestions, which were helpful and honest, and I appreciated that. Her makeup was flawless. It lasted well into the night and then some. I was sooo pleased and happy. I want to offer up a shout-out too to stylist Cara who did my 11-year-old daughters hair as well as our little cousins, who is 7 and was our flower girl. She had so much fun with those two giggly girls, and they had fun with her. It takes a special person to work with kids, and they loved their grown up hair. Thank you both for making our special day so much fun. Thank you for making us all so pretty! (I added the only photo I have that shows the hair...hope this helps)

The day before we had to fly to NO for a wedding, my wife decided to change her hair color. She was tired to being so BLONDE and wanted something a little different.Disaster. Her salon here in Virginia made her look gray! She came home in tears. While she packed for the trip, I researched salons in New Orleans and suggested Salon Diversions.Success! Regan repaired the disaster and my wife now loves her new look!She wants to fly to New Orleans every three months, just so Regan can do her hair! At half the price we are paying here, that would almost pay for the airfare.

For six years Cara has kept me looking quite stylish from my business casual period to the current bohemian. A great shop in a great location with quite pleasant atmosphere.

I had an awful experience here. Let me start by saying a few key things; I am a stylist myself, I have hair that is a natural level 6/7 which is light brown so not difficult to lift, I went into explicit detail to Gabby about what I wanted done with my hair as well as recommended what needed to be done/used to achieve proper lift in my hair. Long story short, I was in and out of the salon in an hour and 45 mins. This is for a highlight and blow dry. I left with my hair that was already blonde darker than when I went in for my service, and my hair is freaking GRAY because rather than let my hair process the appropriate amount of time, they operate on a 2 hour window for a blonding service with blowout (which is absolutely laughable). I reached out to the salon manager who was completely unapologetic and essentially blamed me and said this is the norm for their time frame for a highlight. Ill be attaching pictures of my gray hair in the comments if it allows pictures in comment s, if not, Ill be posting the pictures in my yelp and FB reviews. I will also post screen shots of the email correspondence with the salon after this happened which reflects the level of lack of professionalism as well as the pictures attached showing exactly what I asked for, which was blonde. Not mop water gray. This is not just bad hair, its unethical business practices. I suggest you go elsewhere for blonding services because you will end up with gray hair because they have to do toner to try and cover up the fact they dont allow proper process time. The toner is to cover up the fact your hair is still brassy. Go somewhere that doesnt shove you out of the chair in 2 hours regardless of whether your hair is done or not. Now, I get to go pay someone else to try and pull this garbage out of my hair and redo the highlight.

Since my first appointment a couple years ago, I wont let anyone but Cara cut my hair. Shes definitely the best!

One of the best haircuts Ive ever had!My stylist, Stasia Rinaldi, was the perfect combination of artistic exuberance and absolute professionalism.If youre in town for a special event, or are just looking for a unique salon experience while youre here, I highly recommend Stasia at Salon Diversions. Her work rivals anything Ive found in New York or L.A., yet she adds a funky twist to the experience that is uniquely New Orleans.

A little pricy, but definitely worth it, love the ladies there, happy, fun, nice, and over all the best experience at aat salon. Plus my hair is amazing, thank you
