#girlsnightout STIX was our host(ess) with all of the mostess!! He was amazing from the second he walked in the door until we left. The class was very informative. He kept up with our safety since most of the 10 of us were newbies. It was magical. The space is lit with beautiful colored lightning.. Each lady that came said how much they enjoyed everything. #askforstix

This place is great! I take the aerial tissue class here and all of the instructors are great!!! They do a great job explaining things, they walk around, assisting students who need help and are friendly and supportive! I also really like that they incorporate stretching in class because that is really important when doing aerial arts. Before discovering Awakenings, I had tried another aerial arts studio in town and had a really bad experience. I was so relieved when I found Awakenings!!!

My friends and I did a private pole class at the New Orleans Canal Street location for a bachelorette and I can not express enough how amazing it was! We all agreed it was the highlight of our trip. Brian was our instructor and he was the absolute best! No one in our group was experienced in pole fitness but Brian explained everything so well that we all were able to get the moves down and still have fun. We were shocked at how much we were able to fit into our 75 minute time slot (although we didn’t want it to end). We learned 2 dances and still had plenty of time to mess around and practice the moves. I should also mention the studio is very clean and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend classes here for individuals or groups. You’ll have so much fun! Thank you Brian for making sure our group had a fabulous time!

I loved this place. I have had pole dancing classes at both locations, Styxx was my instructor both times. He is very patient and was able to help me find my confidence. So whether your goal is to get moving for fitness, or to find your sexiest self, Awakenings is the place to go!

I have always wanted to try aerial fabrics and finally bit the bullet. My only regret is not doing it sooner. This place is magic. I am often the only guy in class, but it is such a safe space with zero judgement. It is like a cross between rock climbing, yoga, and dance--a non-judgy workout that requires brain as well as a little brawn. Try it. You will leave feeling so proud of ya bad self, your body, and your new moves.

This place is amazing! The instructor was very personable, helpful and joyful during the class! We was here for bachelorette weekend and this was the best decision on the itinerary. Learning a dance routine was very scary but once the instructor calmed our nerves we all began to get loose and have fun. This place made us feel beautiful! Thanks to the whole team!!!!

An amazing studio with friendly and helpful instructors. They are incredibly welcoming and usually provide multiple variations of different moves/tricks so that all levels can feel comfortable. The instruction was always clear with each teacher. This studio was one of my favorite parts of my 2 months in New Orleans.

I went here for a pole dancing class for my bachelorette party in February and me and my girls had so much fun! Jill was amazing! So friendly and fun! And she always made sure to take pics for of us in fun poses and climbed up the pole to get a shot of us lying on the floor! I wish she taught where I live in Florida because this would definitely be a part of my fitness regimen. I highly recommend this place and her.

Just went with a friend to try a beginner’s pole class, and it was awesome! Jordan had a full class but still made plenty of time to work with me and give encouragement when she saw how I was struggling with it.

This is the best that I ever had for my sports activity! This studio is perfect for people with any pole dance level. Here coaches and students are a big sports family who cares about each other. Awakenings provides a comfortable and fun atmosphere to learn incredible new skills. The instructors are experienced, knowledgeable, and always prepared for class. They’re supportive and professional. The other students that I’ve met are friendly and encouraging. Overall, the atmosphere here is positive and nonjudgmental. All the classes are really fun, even if you don’t know what you’re doing, and it’s hard not to get addicted to them!

I loved this studio. The class was fun. The music was good.

It’s great! The staff is always super friendly. The instructors are very informative. You learn at least 2 moves each class. If you are nervous or hesitant about trying out the classes they always deals on their site, especially for first timers.

I attended a session with a group. The lady who taught us the steps was so dope!!! She taught us all kinds of stuff. I learned that those darn curtains hurt but you feel super sexy while youre doing the moves. Besides, the more you do it, the less painful it becomes. I cant wait to go again.

This place is absolutely amazing. Best place for pole and aerials in New Orleans and surrounding areas hands down. Great work out, supportive teachers at all levels. The owner is wonderful, really cares about the members, and works to bring out the best fitness and experience for everyone at all levels. Molly was an awesome instructor! She was so accommodating to the people in our group (bachelorette party) that needed modifications but she made sure absolutely NOTHING got left out of our experience! The music they played the entire time keeps you grooving (or twerking if you feeling froggy) the whole time. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in NOLA and I’m bringing more friends

Had the best time! Molly is on fire and really tailors the class to fit the skill level of the pole dancers. The customer service is also on point! I went once and bought 5 class package later. Definitely didnt feel like a boring workout. Felt like sexy dancing with friends. Great and comfortable vibe for all skill levels and body sizes. Cant wait to go back!

Dont be intimidated by pole and aerial fitness, if youve been wanting to try it out! The community at Awakenings will welcome you with open arms, and teach you with patience every step of the way! Youll build your self confidence and strength, and have the best time doing it! Working out doesnt have to be this strenuous, dreadful thing.

I had the best time celebrating my birthday here with my girls! The private class was fun from beginning to end. Our instructor was super supportive, and made sure we had a good time. Definitely added a special touch to this girls trip down in the Big Easy!

6 of my friends/bridesmaids and I went down to New Orleans for my bachelorette party in February, and we started the weekend off with a party at Awakenings. It was AWESOME!!! We all had tons of fun and our teacher had fun music, games and taught us a routine and some basic tricks. Planning was super-easy...they just emailed me a handful of questions to find out music preferences and what I was looking for, so the party was even more fun than what I had in mind. Everyone had a blast and it set the tone for a great night. I look forward to returning to New Orleans and taking another class there, and would recommend any bride and her squad have a party there. Went to NOLA for my best friends bachelorette party and wanted to plan something fun! The place was easy to find and our instructor was awesome! We did both the pole class and aerial class and we all had so much fun! Our instructor was also very helpful with some of us that were hesitant to do some of the tricks on the fabric for aerial!

Great people . They make you feel welcomed, they help you through it, are very encouraging and friendly . Jolene is my favorite person but they are all wonderful . The canal st. Studio is equipped with bronze and chrome poles. Even have donation based classes where you only donate $5-$10 to come have fun.

Awakenings pole fitness is New Orleans has such a great variety of classes. Their facilities are clean and spacious. I really liked all the instructors, who were all friendly, professional and creative. The owner is fantastic and responds quickly to email and calls. Great place!

It was our first time taking a pole dancing class and Jillian was incredible! We had a private lesson & she talked with us about our fitness/pole goals and really made us feel comfortable & welcome. She was patient and very informative. I couldnt believe how much we learned in our first class! We purchased a package for a month of unlimited classes but unfortunately havent been back yet due to our work schedules but we cant wait to finally come back & make this a routine! I wanted to take a pole dancing class for my birthday. Booked this class in November 2018 for my birthday. We had a BLAST! It was fun, exciting, & something different than what were used to doing. Our instructor was so nice. Awesome experience!😊

Great location, I was able to walk there (Canal Street) from my hotel and it was close (a few blocks) to everything happening on Bourbon street too. The studio itself is spacious, well-lit and inviting. They offer both aerial training and pole fitness classes. The classes themselves were fun and exciting and quite a workout as well. I have a whole new appreciation for Cirque performers as well as pole performers! The instructors (I had Jillian and Cassie) were well-trained and made me feel welcome and at ease. If you are in New Orleans and want to work off the amazing food or just try and fit in a little fitness while traveling, this is a fun and unique place to try something new and exciting. Cant recommend this place enough!

This is a fantastic studio! The instructors are very friendly and talented and the other students are super nice and welcoming. If you are looking at this review because you are contemplating taking a class, do it! I know it may feel intimidating to walk into a room and be surrounded by a bunch of cute, young girls in their tiny little bloomers but I guarantee you will feel welcome and at ease within a few minutes. Let me tell you, Im twice as old and twice the size of a majority of the people in the class but I never feel uncomfortable and I am able to do the tricks, etc that are being taught. It may not always be pretty but in the end I feel empowered that I am able to accomplish the movements. The instructors are incredibly patient and encouraging, they are always willing take the time to work with you so that you get the most out of the class. I really cant say enough positive things about Awakenings, so take my advice and sign up for a class or two. I bet youll be hooked!

Everyone had so much fun, we didn’t want to leave. It was the perfect balance between letting us play a little and learning the routines. Jill made our booking so easy and she was so sweet to work with!

This studio is welcoming, supportive, totally friendly - and I love it. The exercise and conditioning classes really do aim to help students get in shape, theyre challenging, and the instructors are top notch. Also...Im middle aged, and I was scared that maybe I wasnt the kind of student they were looking for; fact is, I have never felt anything but support from the studio. They answer questions, theyre encouraging, and they take themselves, their classes, and me seriously. I love it. :)

Brian was a wonderful, supportive and kind teacher, and everyone felt empowered so much so that they each danced solo for the bride at the end! The only complaint was they wanted to do more!

I took about 10 classes at awakenings pole. There was enough personal attention from the teachers, even during busy classes. I was also pleased by what was thaught during the classes a good combination of poletricks, choreo and spinny pole.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! Our bachelorette weekend started off with a rough start with flight issues as we were all coming from out of town, but they kindly rescheduled our party for a few hours later. It was a surprise for the bride and she really had a good time.

Jill has created an amazing culture. This place is the absolute best! Ive trained at a few studios in New York and was blown away about this studio. I called in advance to find out which class would be the right skill level and the person I spoke to was very helpful. Upon arrival everyone was very welcoming and it was nice to see a variety of students in terms of goals and body size. While I had hoped to do more choreography in aerials, the conditioning was still great. Out of 8 classes in 4 days I can say that Booty- werk and any class will with Jill will not disappoint.Jill is more than the owner of this location. She is one of the most caring teachers Ive ever worked with. I took to classes with her. She would teach a combination, then go to each student and ask if they needed any assistance or modifications. She did an injury check in pre class and she gave us time to freestyle at the end of class. It is clear that students love coming to this studio because of the welcoming vibe (I did try another studio where the sub showed up unprepared and invited us to jam), and Jill is the reason why the studio feels like a second home.Also every bachelorette party I saw looked super fun. I organize bachelorette parties and my first thought was, This looks amazing! I need to up my game.Go to Awakenings in NOLA. You will not be disappointed.

And the class was good for both me that had done tissu before, and a long time poler, and my bubs that tried it for the first time.I was attending a tissu class at Awakenings in Dec. 2017. Its March 25th 2019, and I am still bombarded with emails for a review of the class. I wrote one review already, I dont remember on what service, but it was also from getting mails. Please for the love of everything coated in chrome, put an expiration date on your mails.All the stars, but please do something about the email sending.
