I have had 2 people come “inspect” our water heater the first one admitted he knew nothing about it, said we were gonna reschedule to someone else who knows about it, weeks gone by never received a call. I reached out again, and a Hispanic man came (which is good cause our first language is Spanish) said he knew everything about it and was just gonna come back with the things he needed but I never heard anything back. Like what is going on?

Our plumber John from Pete’s was incredibly patient explaining the intricacies of the new tankless hot water heater installed yesterday. John arrived on time and performed an expert installation. The entire experience has made us new loyal Pete’s clients.

Im about to call Petes for service and see questionable reviews. My guess is theyre all from one disgruntled someone. But, Ive used Petes for the last 9 years and use them for everything from hot water heaters to pipe breaks to gas lines. Theyve even done light construction for us more than once. Theyre about to repair some leaks for me. I wouldnt call anyone else.

This vendor through home depot was advertised as same day installation on water heaters. I had no leaks no issues other than a doa water heater. I was told maybe next week and 599+ to install a simple installation per the new plumber i got. I choose to use a plumber who was polite and prompt same day. I would not recommended this company

For the only company in the metro area to be contracted by Home Depot for installations, you would assume that they would work hard to keep that contract. I needed a new water heater to be installed and schedule a morning 8-12 time for service. By 11 am, no contact was made by the service tech. I had to call their office only to be told that theyre running late and should be here by around 12:30 pm. Fast forward to 1:45 pm, still no service tech, no phone call and worse I had to call the office again. The lady said that she would call them to get an eta and that she would call back immediately. Well an hour later, she doesnt call back and I cancelled the entire service.Luckily for me, I was able to find a company (which I will review) to come out in short notice and replace my water heater. Still salty about taking a whole day from work for nothing. Please look for other options than Petes Plumbing. Theyre not worth it.

Charging $75 dollars for a quote is crazy, look elsewhere for plumbing service. I shouldve known that if they are charging for a quote their prices would be high. They came and quoted $480 for a water filter installation. I had to make the decision to give them the money for the quote and try someone else who wasnt trying to rip me off. I called another plumber and he quoted for free and got the job done for $130.

I have used Petes plumbing several times over the years and couldnt be happier with my experiences. From installing a new hot water heater to remodeling a bathroom, Petes Plumbing was courteous, professional and did excellent work. They communicated effectively when job details changed or when schedules needed to be updated like with any construction job. Their prices have always been fair and like anything, you get what you pay for. I have recommended them to several friends and family and they have all been pleased with the work completed as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone needed plumbing repair work, water heater install or remodeling in the New Orleans area, have had nightmares in the past with other plumbing companies but have nothing but positive experiences working with Petes Plumbing.

THEY ARE EITHER THE WORST PLUMBERS OR THE BIGGEST CON-ARTISTS OR BOTH.I’m active duty Navy and I’m stationed out of state, so I’m renting out my house in Gretna. The water line from the hot water heater broke under the slab. My renter showed me it over the phone, his friend assessed it, Choice Home Warranty’s plumber looked at it (but they don’t do that kind of work), and RotoRooter all said that it is in/under the slab. RotoRooter wouldn’t call me back to schedule, but quoted me for $2100.I hired Pete’s just because they were one of the highest rating in the NOLA area and they seemed happy to take on the job. However, the first time the plumber visited, he thought that the leak was not under the slab and could fix it, but not that same day. Even though he was the only person, out of 5 different people, who could not tell that the leak was in the slab, I went with him, again based on high reviews. The price he quoted me to fix the leak was $1200 something. He offered to replace the aging hot water heater for an extra $200 something. $200 something is a great price on a new hot water heater, even though it had absolutely nothing to do with the leak itself and the unit was working perfectly fine, I paid the extra, coming out to be $1465. He told me that if the leak is in fact under the slab it would cost more, but the $1465 would go towards that extra cost. Then, upon installing the new hot water heater, Pete’s finally figured out that the leak is in the slab and he’ll need to get a leak detection done, but the $1465 that I already paid him will cover that. After they found the leak, he was saying it would cost $2k to fix. I asked how much of the $1465 that I already paid goes towards that amount, he told me nothing, that what I already paid was used up. He said, though, that at this point I don’t owe him anything additional. So, the water heater only costed me $200 extra, and after calling the leak detect company, I found out they only charge $250. That’s only $450, what happened to the rest of the $1015?! It couldn’t have been labor because absolutely 0, nada, zilch progress was made to fix the very thing they were hired for- the stupid leak! The only thing I got out of the remaining $1015 was “you got a leak in the slab”, well thank you Sherlock, but I already told you that before you even came out the first time! It doesn’t cost $1015 in labor costs to discover the leak that should’ve been found during the initial estimate.I called the office and they told me that I paid $1465 for the leak detect and a new hot water heater. No, that was not the deal, I did not hire them to just put in a hot water heater and have another company find the leak for them but not to fix the leak. Apparently, they thought the old hot water heater, which was working perfectly fine, was my top priority, not the massive leak under my house! Even then, replacing a hot water heater in a garage takes very little labor and I can do that faster than changing my car’s oil, I would never have agreed to pay that amount just for a very simple task. I wouldnt even pay $150 for labor on replacing a unit in a flat garage. I asked for a refund because there is no way I used up all $1465 on you got a leak in the slab, but heres your $200 hot water heater, they said they would call me back…still waiting.

My water heater in the attic was leaking. I checked Home Depot, selected one and called their number to arrange installation. They put me through to Petes Plumbing who gave me an estimate on the phone for $675, but said they may have to do some additional work to bring it up to code. When I asked how much that would add to the bill, Petes Plumbing said they did free estimates. The next day I got the free estimate and the labor was now $1125. $450 over their previous estimate. So, I said no thank you and checked out Lowes. Lowes gave me a phone estimate of $577.99 for labor but also added in $147.96 for a license and material. Then they told me that Petes Plumbing would do the installation. When I told them about my bad experience with Petes Plumbing, they said they could get another plumber, but the price they gave me should be adequate. The next morning Petes Plumbing called me and said the labor would be another $450. Of course, I cancelled them and called Lowes, who then said Petes Plumbing was the only plumber they used. They now also added that Petes usually charges $400 - $500 above the original estimate. So, I cancelled Lowes and called Earls Plumbing. They gave me an estimate over the phone which was a lot less than both of the adjusted prices from Home Depot and Lowes, came out this morning and did the job exactly for their estimated price. The two out of code problems which Petes found were a bad shutoff valve and a short vent duct out the roof, which could be fixed from the inside. Earls included replacement of the shutoff valve in their normal installation cost and said the vent didnt have to be extended for this installation, which was at the peak of a 2nd floor attic.
