Great time! Attended a wedding at this venue and it was gorgeous! From the outside to the inside, very clean and well kept! Walking up to the ceremony with my daughter we had to pass the horse drawn carriage and she was terrified of the horses, one of the guys at the carriage helped carry her pass because she was just freaking out. I saw him a little later on and he asked if she was okay, I thought that was very nice of him. Everyone I encountered on this evening was very pleasant and respectful, there was always someone coming around with a tray offering you something or asking if everything was okay, cleaning up your things that you were done with, wiping up spills on the floor, I mean they were on it and didn’t miss a beat. I’m not a big drinker, but I definitely enjoyed the mango margarita! The food tasted wonderful, the bread pudding was my favorite and the service was outstanding. Never once did I see anyone looking like they didn’t want to be there, everyone was smiling and happy and ready to serve, I even saw a few people dancing after the I do’s. Everything was really lovely and it was a beautiful night, celebrating love and enjoying family, receiving great service and having a good time! I would absolutely recommend this venue for your wedding celebration!

From the time I walked in as the mother of the bride I was told that my every need would be taken care of and truer words were never spoken. If my hands were empty the lovely Kimona was there to offer a drink. If I was looking around there was Darla asking what I needed and offering to find it/them. Every where I turned someone was offering delicious food. I believe everyone in the wedding party can attest to the same. The lights were gorgeous and made for gorgeous pictures. The horse drawn carriage was right out of a fairy tale. The fireworks at the end of the ceremony were stunning and exciting. Not quite 24 hours later and we are still marveling at how perfect the night, the venue, the service was. The staff and level of service at Southern Oaks made for an incomparable experience. Thank You Southern Oaks for making my daughter’s dream wedding come true. She raved about you long before the day and you definitely lived up to the hype. I would give wayyy more than 5 stars if I could.

The food serving staff was excellent but definitely was dissatisfied with the downplay & knowledge of alcoholic beverages & serving watered down drinks thinking people dont know the difference & the fact they didnt even know the name of what they were serving definitely is the reason for the rating; the food serving staff was definitely a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 the environment was clean and very appealing with awesome decorations & lighting, I would definitely recommend Southern Oaks to others🤗

Where to begin.... Southern Oaks is by far the best vendor experience I have ever had. They truly aspire to make this experience as easy and magical as possible. I booked Southern Oaks in January 2020. I was pretty nervous throughout the whole year as our wedding date, March 2021, was getting closer and closer due to COVID. Southern Oaks was very prompt to answer my emails and was always on call away for any questions. They did such a fantastic job guiding me through the planning process and helping ease some of my stress.Our wedding day was an event out of a fairytale movie! We met Mr. Bobby, the owner, and quickly connected over our Disney obsession. I never knew that most of their visions come from Disney. This is why they strive to have a top notch crew and it was incredible to see how smoothly and stress-free the ceremony and reception was. They were constantly checking in with us along with our parents. Ive never seen a service quite like this. I am still blown away!!Our guests are still ranting and raving about the whole experience! They loved the second line, fireworks, Mardi Gras parade, and the FOOD! The food was the biggest hit! Every single item was delicious.Thank you so so much Mr. Bobby and the Southern Oaks team! Other than street noise out front, this is one of the most beautiful places Ive ever attended a wedding. Lauren is absolutely amazing! She made sure everything was 1000% on point. One of my best gal friends had the wedding of her dreams here!! Food is amazing and abundant!

Haven’t personally had a wedding here, but i have photographed weddings here, and let me tell you... these people KNOW what they’re doing!!! if you want your wedding to run seamlessly, this is the place. the staff are phenomenal. they treat every guest, family member, and vendor like first-class; and you better believe the couple will be treated like royalty!! 10/10 would recommend!

I absolutely recommend Southern Oaks!! The staff is AMAZING! Their focus was on my husband and I all night. The owner even went out of his way to add a few special touches to the night! They were so helpful throughout the entire process and made me feel like I could put all my trust in them. Also, ALL of our guests raved about how good the food was!

Photographer, flowers, makeup artist, invitations etc. and were super pleased with all! The venue itself is so classy, elegant, and just plain amazing. Southern Oaks is a one stop venue for all of your wedding needs. Our daughter chose to be married in church and have her reception at Southern Oaks. Bobby was there to greet us as we arrived! Not many owners care that much! The surprise grand entrance with fireworks, fairytale music, lights and streamers Bobby planned for our daughter was priceless and just took our breath away. The smile on our daughters face is one we will never forget thanks to Bobby. Her smile stayed the entire night! It was the most flawless wedding any bride and parents could ever hope for She told us she always dreamed of her dream wedding BUT never dreamed it would be as special as it was. DETAIL is what they do food, drinks, attendants for parents, bride and groom, Thank God for wonderful Emma to bussel my daughters huge dress, music, lights, decor!! JUST all amazing.We all really wish we could do it all over again! AND we would not change a thing. It is truly sad that I can only give Bobby and Southern Oaks five stars in this review. Parking was confusing. Saw people pulling up out front so thought there was valet parking but officer instructed me how to reach thier back parking lot. There were no signs which would have helped greatly. Had not been to venue in over 25 yrs. Great security for guests provided by venue. Venue was beautiful and well maintained. They did not account for wind and smoke & debris from fireworks blew back onto guests outside. Otherwise, wonderful - beautiful wedding.

We had our daughters wedding at the Southern Oaks Plantation and wow it was like a New Orleans fairy tail wedding. The owners Bobby and Sue Asaro are the nicest people you will ever meet. The food is so good and they just kept being it out from the kitchen! There are different packages that will fit your wedding of a life time. Definitely a beautiful place and I highly recommend checking this beautiful plantation place out for your wedding.

Oh my gosh!! i dont know where to begin!! This venue lived up to every expectation of a southern New Orleans wedding that my daughter dreamed of!! Everything was PERFECT! From the fireworks, jazz band and food, they did an amazing job! They certainly did not disappoint! They thought of every detail and put it all together for us. Our hearts are so full at how magical the night was! All of our family and friends were amazed at how professional and courteous the staff was. They constantly made sure everyone was happy and having a great time. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!! We are all from down the bayou as they say, and we know great cajun food, and they were on point!!!. My son planned his wedding here in April 2020. Unfortunately, covid hit and the wedding got post-poned for a year. My husband is disabled with a severe mobility issue. We were very apprehensive about the accessibility of the venue but the staff was AMAZING. Those boys jumped in and made it happen. They were so attentive to our needs the entire night and we had so much fun!!!! The venue is beautiful and romantic; the food was out of this world; and the staff were so responsive to our every need. My only suggestion would be to cut back the back bushes to enlarge the handicap access. I cant believe drunk people dont end up in the pool!

VENDOR REVIEW - Im a photographer based in Baton Rouge that shoots in New Orleans about 60% of the time. So, Ive had my fair share of experiences at similar NOLA venues. The staff here is INCREDIBLE! Unfortunately, my couples beautiful outdoor ceremony under the trees was not an option due to a sudden rain storm.The venue completely turned it around and created an amazing ceremony site indoors before anyone knew what happened. It was as if the transformation took place within seconds. They had all hands on deck to make sure my couples dream wedding came true. As a fellow vendor I was so thankful to see them care about my couple as much as I do. Well, the surprises are what your guest will experience. My wedding was Magical, Grand and Royal. Everything was smooth and effortless, the staff operates this place like a well oiled machine. There is no running around, no one is confused and you, the wedding party and family members are assigned a concierge that ensures your culinary/drink needs are met. All the special touches, there is also a moment where you really get to take each other in and embrace what is actually happening. Private Room: We were swept away to a private room, the table was set, our glasses were filled with Champagne and it was just us I thought this was absolutely thoughtful.It was probably one of the better moments amidst everything thing else it was our time to decompress...The Food: It is not your typical wedding plate of chicken, fish or buffet. This place provides a Taste of New Orleans, I mean your guest will not stop talking about what they ate, how good the food was and how much food was being passed. Amazing flavors and a huge variety. There is no waiting, once the reception starts the food is being passed, this style was great because it also eliminated the hassle of seating charts, open seating was also another reason I loved this place. Enhancements: I chose to have a New Orleans Style Brass Band, Horse and Carriage, Carving Station and Fireworks, which made it a very grand time, my guest were over stimulated with surprises. During the time of our wedding, my husband and I was experiencing a difficult time and Mr. Bobby had a surprise for us, he upgraded our fireworks package to River Fireworks, it was like the 4th of July in September. The sky was lit up over the River.. all for us. The Venue: This place is gorgeous on the inside and outside. The outside has huge moss filled oak trees with a beautiful historic fountain as you enter, its really picturesque and well kept grounds. Behind the Mansion there is plenty parking for your guests and a stable and swimming pool where the beautiful white horse are kept. Your guest can sit outside and enjoy the cafe tables where the music from inside is piping outside for their enjoyment. Inside every room is gorgeous, the place has a timeless feel with a real richness that provides grandeur. Jeremy, Lauren and Mariah customer service just impeccable, I can also tell that this is a great place to work. They all really work in sync and the professionalism, I just cannot state it enough. I will always remember my wedding day and cherish the wonderful memories because of the staff here, the owner and the venue. My guests are still calling and saying how this was by far the best wedding they have ever attended. Most of my guest have become wedding snobs because of their experience here. Southern Oaks was absolutely FABULOUS! My husband and I were treated like royalty for our wedding day. Southern Oaks made getting married the easiest part, and I can not begin to tell you how wonderful everything was! They had a full staff that was attentive to all of our needs, and they made everything feel like a fairy tale. I highly recommend arriving in the horse drawn carriage because everyones faces were priceless! I have nothing but good things to say about them, and I am going to recommend them to anyone who is getting married.

I got married at Southern Oaks on August 18th, 2019.It was truly one of the greatest experiences I have ever had.To say that my wedding was everything I dreamed it would be, would be an understatement.I live in Atlanta, GA., but my now husband and I met in New Orleans. It just made the most sense to bring everything back where it started and have our wedding in NOLA. One would think handling a wedding long distance would be a horrible experience. However, it could not have been easier!I only had to manage 5 vendors (Flowers, String Quartet, Photographer, Videographer and Cake Baker). Southern Oaks provided everything else that was needed to make this wedding perfect...and 5 STAR perfect!We had fireworks, a Mardi Gras Parade, Jazz band...I mean it was just freaking magical. I am not sure how many people work there, but the place runs like a well oiled machine. My glass was never empty, my needs were always attended to and I never had to worry about a thing.On the way to the venue, it started to rain...and not kinda rain or drizzle.; BUT RAIN. I thought, there is no way this is going to be outside. I had basically rationalized the fact I was going to have an indoor wedding. When I arrived, the chairs were still up outside and they were wiping them down. They were going to do everything in their power (except weather manipulation) to make sure it was outside in front of the mansion. They checked radar and knew that we would be ok. It was outside! It was a little steamy, (HA!), but well worth it. It was amazing!I cant even express how thankful and blessed I feel to have had the opportunity to have my wedding at Southern Oaks. If I could do it all again, I would not change a thing (except I would have eaten more of that delicious food-THE FOOD WAS UNREAL). One of my really good friends had her wedding here. The wedding was held right before sunset on the front lawn and the reception inside. The property has a small stable with horses. There is a pool worderfully lit. The entrance and steps to the front of the house looks amazing where most of the weddings take place. We had a wonderful time at the venue.

Our wedding at southern oaks plantation was better than any dream I ever had! To say the night was perfect would be an understatement. It’s hard to find the words to describe how we feel after this past weekend but I am going to try because anyone looking to book your wedding here needs to no that you will not find anywhere better. My husband and I, our families, and all of our friends literally can not stop smiling in disbelief with how beautiful the venue was. It was straight out of a fairytale. The ceremony, the entrances, the fireworks, the second line, it was an experience unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It was the best night of our lives and we can not thank the southern oaks team for their professionalism, attention to detail, and everything that was put into making our night as amazing as it was. Not to mention the food was on another level. No other venue could compare. We are still drooling. Oh my goodness. Where do I begin. I could not thank Southern Oaks Plantation enough for the magical wedding we had this December. Mr. Bobby, you are an amazing human being. He was there himself and talked to me and assured me how great everything was going to be and asked me what exactly I had in mind and his opinions and let me tell you, our minds were blown myself included. When we booked with Southern Oaks Plantation we knew this was a great venue but we had no idea how GREAT it was going to be. I have had multiple people including kids tell me how this was the best wedding they had been to. The staff is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I had champagne all night, they made sure we ate, made sure our families were doing okay, I mean you name it, they made sure it happened. now about the food.... THE BEST FOOD I HAVE HAD! wow just wow. the food kept coming from the moment everyone went in and it did not stop. I have had almost every single guest at the wedding comment on how great the food was. It was AMAZING. We took a little bit longer eating our dinner because we wanted more and more.. Honestly, the best decision we made was to book with Southern Oaks Plantation. We live in Houston so this was a destination wedding for us and I was very nervous as I did not get to go to LA and did not feel like I was as prepared as I should be? But oh my oh my, How AMAZING everyone at Southern Oaks Plantation made it to be. It was truly a magical wedding, a wedding to remember. We had guests come in from New Jersey and California many of which had never visited LA before and they were so amazed and loved every single thing about this venue. My husband and I truly recommend this place to anyone who is looking and is not sure. Trust me, you will not regret it. Very beautiful, inside and out. Horses out back, security watches your cars. Slow when you approach, or youll miss your entrance. Takes 2 hours to drive from BR.The bartenders serve up some mean drinks - after your second, you just need to stay in your chair. They have a margarita machine...

Yesterday 3/23/19 my husband and I got married at Southern Oaks Plantation!!!! The entire staff made sure our day was PERFECTION!!! The food, the music, the vibes, the 2nd line BAND! Southern Oaks Plantation is the perfect venue for any wedding. During my first visit to Southern Oaks Plantation, I felt so welcomed by the staff. The staff members are very pleasant to work with.The food was delicious, my guests raved about the food for a week. The coffee served at Southern Oaks Plantation is comparable to a high-end coffee house, and the sweet tea is beyond amazing.There were somethings I would have like to implement in my event, but it just did not happen. Nonetheless, Southern Oaks Plantation will wow your guests. This venue, is one the best wedding venues New Orleans has to offer.

Stunning place

It has been a year since my wife and I got married there (July 19, 2014). We were looking at pictures the other day, and it reminded me to go back and write this review. Southern Oaks is an amazing place to get married. Bobby and his family have built an amazing establishment.Bobby was so great to be around (joyful, helpful, thoughtful), and his daughter, Stacey, was attentive, accommodating, and sincerely kind. The space is as advertised, maybe even better. The service was among the best. And the food was better than most weddings I have ever been to.As a groom and bride, our day was stress free and everything as promised. Our parents didnt have an ounce of stress either and were able to just enjoy the day too. A year later, people are still talking about what a great wedding venue it was. It was everything they promised and then some. I would book here!

Southern Oaks Plantation was amazing! We are from New York and most of our guests were out of town guests from New York or Florida. I constantly receive compliments on how it was the best wedding people have been to and that the food was spectacular. Everyone at Southern Oaks made our day special and effortless. My champagne glass was never empty, and the attendants catered to our every need (not to mention our parents needs as well). Mr. Bobby is so sweet, he added little touched on our wedding day that made everything come together. I thought planning a destination wedding was going to be hard, but they took the stress out of it. I could not be happier that we chose Southern Oaks Plantation for our wedding!!!! Holy smokes! Where do I begin??? This place, the employees, the atmosphere! It is the most perfect place to have your wedding! The first time I walked though that door I was absolutely taken away! I was introduced to an amazing lady named Lauren. She was the sweetest person I had dealt with while going crazy trying to find a place to hold my wedding. She answered any questions I had and was so patient. I was later introduced to Mr. Bobby. Well he has that perfect southern charm and made us feel like he has been knowing us for years. We had our baby and he heard from Lauren that I am a huge Disney fan. Well hello, I use to work at Disney! Lol anyways, he gave our little girl a stuffed Minnie Mouse. It’s the little things that catches people’s attention. She still has it and carries it around all the time. The whole place made you feel like you were home! The absolute best! I will take you to the week of our weeding. I was a stressed bride to say the least. The day we went to drop some stuff off at the plantation, Lauren worked her magic and made everything so calm. I remember her always telling me “let us do the worrying, let us do the work!” And that they did. Now, night of my wedding they met us before the doors of the limo stopped. They are so orchestrated and has everything down to a science you, the bride, don’t have time to worry about this or that, they are already 10 steps ahead. Me. Bobby told my Matron of Honor “I have a little surprise for her!” Well holy smokes let me tell you! This man went above and beyond! Mickey and Minnie showed up at my wedding and to top it off I really got to have FIREWORKS at my wedding!!! The food was amazing! They have so much, so don’t worry about leaving hungry! Everyone that came to our wedding all agreed this was the best wedding they have ever been to. They are all still talking about it wanting to do it over so they can relive it. This is truest a magical place where DREAMS COME TRUE!

We had our wedding here on May 21, 2016 and it was the most amazing, romantic, magical experience ever! I highly recommend this venue if you are thinking about doing a destination wedding in NOLA. Im from Seattle and had absolutely no problem getting in touch with staff via email with my random wedding questions. The owner was so nice and took pictures of me before the ceremony and sent them to my email shortly after! The day of coordinators were so helpful throughout the day, I felt completely taken care of and put at ease in their hands. Our guests are still raving about how good the food and drink was at our wedding! The day of coordinators also make sure you get food and drink non-stop. The venue was absolutely breath-taking as well. I will never forget how beautiful our wedding day was and how happy we were on our special day. Every last dime was worth it and really made planning easier (with forgoing vendors like catering, DJ, etc.). This is a one stop shop for weddings in NOLA and I am so grateful for everything the staff did to make our day so special. They definitely know what theyre doing! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SOP!

Very impressive. My wife and I got married here on April 27, 2019. The folks at Southern Oaks Plantation (SOP) have wedding planning and execution down to a science. From the very beginning of our contact with them, they were professional and responsible. They assigned Lauren Burgess as the primary point of contact for our wedding and she remained attentive and friendly throughout. She seemed genuinely excited to be planning our wedding and was very easy to work with. SOP handles the majority of details for the ceremony and reception so it makes things easy on the bride and groom during the planning process. On the day of, they had individual people assigned to different roles taking care of specific people and things, and had a standardized process for preparing the bridal party for the ceremony, which was executed flawlessly. Everything else was honestly almost perfect, and I do not use that word lightly. The grounds were gorgeous, the staff courteous and attentive, the plan well thought out and executed, the reception fun, the bar easy, the food absolutely fantastic, and on and on. It was especially nice that during the reception, from start to finish, the SOP staff was constantly checking on us (bride and groom) to ensure we had everything we needed from drinks to change of clothes to even a new pair of socks! They were always respectful of our time, space, and privacy but never far when we needed them. One of the capstones for us was that the owner threw in a surprise fireworks and streamers show at the end of our ceremony! We had no idea it was coming! Many guests said our wedding was a fairytale wedding, and they raved about the setting and food in particular. I don’t even know where to begin with this – it’s hard to put into words just how perfect and magical Southern Oaks and the staff truly are, but this is the best word I can think of to describe this place…Magic. We had a year to plan this destination wedding, and Mr. Bobby, Lauren, and the rest of the staff made it the easiest process throughout the entire year..alleviating all the worries and stress that brides experience while planning a wedding. No matter how many questions I asked, how many emails I sent (and how annoying I’m sure my mother and I both were), Lauren always responded so quickly, with such a great attitude, and answered every question in such detail. I could go on and on about how amazing they were leading up to the big day, but what brings me to actual tears is how they treated us the day of. First off, if you just visit Southern Oaks, you’ll see that the plantation sells itself. It’s truly something that you only see in movies and magazines..the Spanish moss on the trees, the perfectly manicured front lawn, all the way to the beautiful pool, lights, and horse stables in the backyard. The details inside are equally astounding..the music, chandeliers, décor, the different rooms spread out across the plantation, even the women’s restroom was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s a picture perfect dream come true. The service that you get with the team is the other part that is almost impossible to put into words. Ive heard horror stories of things going wrong the day of the wedding, or the bride experiencing mishaps at their venues. I can honestly say that every moment of our day was better than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams,& absolutely nothing went even slightly wrong. Not once. They are the most well-oiled machine you will ever see..everything is so perfectly orchestrated, and there was never a single hiccup during our entire experience. On top of that, they exceeded every expectation I could have ever had for my wedding day. Mr. Bobby pulled out all the extra stops, from surprising me with my grand entrance in their Rolls Royce to a magnificent fireworks show that ended the ceremony. They made me feel like a real life princess from start to finish. Even the service we received throughout the entire reception never ceased to amaze us. Nick was our attendant that evening and I don’t think a single ice cube could melt in my drink before he was right beside me offering a new one (Nick, you were fantastic)! They make you feel like royalty from the second you step foot on their property, and I was so blown away by all of it. Our family and friends haven’t stopped RAVING about the venue, food, service, atmosphere and everything in between. We have heard over and over again from guests how it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and I have zero doubts that they are telling the truth. I was an anxious bride that had always just hoped to survive the day of my wedding in one piece, but I can honestly say that I would do it over and over again if I could just because Southern Oaks made it an actual dream come true that I never wanted to end. I hope every bride can feel the perfection and magic that I did on my wedding day, and I’m 1000% sure that they would if they choose to get married here. We will never stop talking about this day for the rest of our lives. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Southern Oaks for making this the absolute best day of my life!

Why cant I give this place 10 stars? We worked with Kim for about a year. She was very responsive and accommodating, anticipating many of our needs before us, and helped to make our special day flawlessly magical! Because they usually have multiple weddings per day, you dont have unlimited time at the venue. With that said, the staff worked with us to ensure that we maximized the use of both the time and space allotted for our event! As someone who really appreciates timeliness, I appreciated how they kept the day on schedule and kept things moving along. We are both from DC, and the venue was perfect for a destination wedding. And oh yeah, the food is pretty awesome! We had hard to please palettes that were pleasantly pleased! Highly recommend!

The people made my daughters dream wedding actually happen! It was everything shed ever wanted! It was a fairytale wedding! I had my wedding here on October 27th and I couldnt have had a better venue. They literally took care of everything, every detail was thought of! My wedding was an evening event so the entire venue was lit up with white lights in the trees and around the fountain. The fireworks package was added to my wedding and it was simply amazing! Everyone enjoyed the fireworks show after the recessional. Inside the venue, it is very elegantly designed that there was no need to add any decorations. All of my guests said it was the most beautiful and magical wedding they had ever been too. All of their food was phenomenal, I definitely suggest trying their pecan crusted fried chicken. The staff was incredibly friendly and the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. They made sure that not only were our guests well fed, but that my husband and I got a chance to eat in private before joining the reception. My husband and I, as well as our parents were so well taken care of, Southern Oaks was nothing short of excellent!

I got married there one week ago and the wedding could not have been more perfect. My wife and I were blown away by the incredible service we received from every employee, and Mr. Bobby is the absolute best. I had my wedding at Southern Oaks one week ago and it was the best day of my life. The staff went above and beyond to make us all comfortable and they took away all the stress of planning a wedding. If you want your wedding to be perfect, book it at Southern Oaks. The venue is gorgeous. It is the most elegant and classy looking place you could ever hope for. The entire staff is incredible. Their goal is making sure your wedding and reception are perfect. If you have a favorite drink, they make sure your hand is never empty. Kim walked us through our rehearsal and made sure everything was planned out in advance down to the smallest detail. She, Lauren, Bobby, and everyone else at Southern Oaks gave us everything we needed before we even knew we needed it. The staff even threw in a few complementary surprises for us. I told them at the end of the night that I would rate them an 11/10 and they truly did earn it. The food, which was plentiful, is delicious. The dj was great and played all the right songs at all the right moments. This place is perfect.

We just had our wedding reception here on Friday, May 27th 2016. I cannot even begin to express how magical it was. The staff goes way above and beyond to make your day extra special. You are being waited on hand and foot, no one leaves hungry, and the food is simply amazing. They are such wonderful, highly organized professionals and we were always told where and what the next steps were throughout the whole night. I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone. 5 stars isnt even enough credit to give to this venue. I am still in awe of how amazing of an experience it was. My guests have all told us that our wedding blew all other weddings that they had attended out of the water... because of how spectacular the venue was!!!

My sister in law had her wedding here last week. Through the whole process southern oaks took care of her. The staff is super professional and makes sure everyone is taken care of. Through all the stress of planning a wedding they did a lot to put the bride and groom at ease. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a venue!

Both the staff and Bobby (the owner) are absolutely wonderful. Bobby even threw in a few surprises for us which made our night even more special and fun. Our guests cant stop talking about how wonderful the service and food was; Southern Oaks really has it down to a perfect science. It also doesnt hurt that the venue is gorgeous and beautifully kept! If youre planning a small quaint wedding this place cant be beat the atmosphere the courtyard the pool area is just off the charts compared to so many venues that I visit as I do videos if you have to do it in New Orleans I dont think you can do too much better than this spot there are many options to add to the package which are all pretty awesome the horse and carriage the fireworks the atmosphere. Awesome

Attended friends daughters wedding last weekend, perfect for the reception. Spreading live oaks draped with Spanish moss, old world charm, horse drawn carriage, like a scene out of Gone with the Wind, I could almost hear Vivian Leigh whispering to Clark Gable, Rhett, oh Rhett....

The grounds and inside the mansion were absolutely like a fairy tale. My niece, Melanie and her new husband, Andrew, were the princess and the prince. The food was awesome and the wait staff even more so. Kudos to Mr. Bobby. I would highly recommend this venue.

This venues staff has mastered the humble art of service. They are unbelievably respectful and kind. It is obvious that each person there loves their job and that is what differentiates them from any of the 50+ venues I have visited as a professional photographer.The setting and the mood was elegant and beatiful with surprising attention to detail. The process was smooth as the entire wedding that seemed to flow from beginning to end in one breath.The food was great as well, the options seemed endless.I highly recommend this venue and I hope to be back soon.

I wish I could rate it higher than five stars. Amazing service from the moment we called to ask for more information to the moment my wife and I climbed into our limo to leave. Staff from the owner down to the wait staff were amazing. They truly made me feel like family and that our wedding was special and their highest priority. Amazing food, and they even gave time for myself and my wife to enjoy it. Beautiful setting inside and out. Best venue in New Orleans hands down. Best decision we made while planning our wedding was to use Southern Oaks as our venue for wedding and reception. It is a beautiful, large venue. Our pictures are amazing. Great food, great service, great fun. Easy to plan destination wedding with their help. My husband says now that he wishes that we could get married there again...Does that say enough?

My husband and I were absolutely speechless the evening of our wedding! 1-30-15The moment we had pulled into Southern Oaks, every moment was breathtaking. The Southern Oaks staff and the Asaro family, made us feel as if we were family. I could not stop smiling the entire night. Family and friends came up to us and said how amazing the food was and how friendly the staff was. They were so organized! It made everything that much better to know we had someone like Stacey taking us step by step and helping us throughout the entire process. Words cannot express how magical our wedding was at Southern Oaks. Not only were we greeted by our entire family, fireworks and Mickey & Minnie upon entering, but the staff went above and beyond to take care of my husband and I and our parents throughout the night. They made it so easy for us to enjoy our night and not worry about any of the logistics. The decor is beautiful, they have a DJ on site and the grounds are lit up year round so there was little left for me to worry about while wedding planning. This southern belle rates Southern Oaks as a 5 star venue for weddings! Deciding on an out of town destination for a wedding can be hard, however a wedding /florist, Beths Flowers and Weddings, mentioned this beautiful venue so I went for a look. We did not have an appointment, but the staff was more than willing to show us around and offer suggestions. They were preparing for a wedding that day and still took time to accommodate us, which was great as we were only in town for a few days. We left to look at other reception sites only to decide Southern Oaks was THE place for us. Our wedding day was perfect thanks to the team there. The food was delicious and their attention to detail was impeccable. Very pleased.

However, reviews are one thing but if we were going to have our wedding there, we needed to see it for ourselves!!!From the moment we got there, the entire staff, just knock our socks off with their attention to detail, professionalism, and southern hospitality. The immaculate landscaped grounds made for breathe taking photo opportunities.For the next year, my wife would have countless conversations with both Stacy and Taylor the wedding coordinators, regarding every detail of the wedding. They were so knowledgeable that they were able to answer just about every question with certainty, and even when they didnt know an answer, they made sure that the person who did know got back to us in a very timely manner.Although we fell in love with the venue instantly, my family has dietary restrictions that might have gotten in the way had it not been for Ms. Susans culinary flexibility. Mrs. Susan sat down with us and went through the entire menu, making changes to her recipes anywhere that was needed. Her flexibility and willingness to work with us certainly reassured us that we had made the right decision to have the wedding at Southern Oaks.The entire staff was absolutely wonderful, provided the best service, made sure everything looked picture perfect and was very accommodating, but this was all because of the owner Mr. Bobby. Having been a photographer himself and idolizing Walt Disney, these influences can be seen in his management style. Mr. Bobby went over the top and surprised us with many extra’s that no one expected.The success of Southern Oaks is not an accident, these people know what they are doing and know how to throw a party.

Anthony and I cannot thank you enough for creating a wedding for us on June 27, 2015 that has exceeded our expectations and more. I could not have dreamt of a more beautiful wedding. My husband and I had the honor of being married here 1/16/15 and our wedding was amazing! The entire staff made us feel so special and the food was the talk of the town. My ceremony included details on a pre-event playlist for guests upon arrival, a horse & carriage entrance, fireworks, jazz band, timed music, coordination and entrances of specific individuals in my wedding party, and literally like magic, it all just came together spectacularly on our big day ~ EVERY single person that attended ~ over 100 guests again from all over the world, were so impressed and beyond awed at the experience Southern Oaks delivered. I had never heard so many superlatives used by my friends and family (all who have attended numerous weddings): This was the PERFECT Wedding!, This was hands down the BEST Wedding Ive been to, and Ive been to a LOT! ~ these are direct quotes from our F&F and they KEPT saying it throughout the night! My husband and I were married at Southern Oaks on 3.30.18. To say it was the most amazing day of our lives would be quite the understatement. The team at Southern Oaks was nothing short of incredible from the day we started planning through seeing us off on our wedding night. Every detail was perfectly executed, the staff was extremely attentive, the food was amazing (we even had guests say it was the best food they had in New Orleans), to the point where everything went perfectly. Im not sure how many brides can say there was nothing that went wrong on their wedding day but I am very fortunate to say that I can thanks to Bobby and all of the wonderful people at Southern Oaks. Where do I begin?!?!? Rasheed and I knew we wanted our wedding to be a destination experience....and couldnt think of a more appropriate city than NOLA....BAAABBBYYY! because of its deep rooted culture, electric energy, sexy vibe, hospitable residents and the delicious cuisine. So thus begin our quest for a wedding venue. We initially set our sights on another venue in NOLA, but upon my further research, I came across Southern Oaks Plantation.....and the rest is history! From the first time I called the venue, to the day our car service pulled off of the property after our wedding/reception, it was nothing short of pure excellence on behalf of Stacey (my doll), Lauren and all the other members of Southern Oaks.We fell in love and booked our date just by the pictures, videos and conversations we had with Stacey. Once we had the opportunity to travel down to NOLA and actually visit the venue and meet Stacey in person, it was no doubt we made the right decision! The venue is AMAZING! They give care to EVERY detail! They understand how important of a day this is for the couples they service and they deliver, in a major way!!! A spirit of excellence is by far their credo!!! My husband and I were engaged at the end of January 2018 and as we started the planning process we knew two things. We wanted to be married by the end of 2018 (yes, less than a year of planning) and we wanted it to be a destination wedding. As we narrowed down the locations, we settled on New Orleans for a November 2018 wedding. There were many venues to choose from, but there was something about Southern Oaks that kept drawing us back to their website. Once we scheduled a call with the Southern Oaks Team and had a friend who lived locally visit the venue, we knew we had found our venue.We both have high tempo jobs and did not want the extra stress of coordinating with multiple vendors, which is why Southern Oaks worked perfectly because they are a one stop shop. We booked the photographers, florist and bakery, while Southern Oaks handled the rest.Our wedding was November 15th and to say that our expectations were exceeded is an understatement. The staff handled every aspect of the wedding flawlessly. We were amazed at how well things came together being that we put in minimal effort on what’s supposed to be the best day of our lives.Our family and friends couldn’t believe how stress free we were about the entire process and were blown away by the grandness of the ceremony and reception. Honestly, we were even blown away by how magical their grounds and facilities were for our evening wedding. Everything came together perfectly; their service is top notch and we could do another review just on how great the food was alone. We had friends and family telling us that this was hands down the best wedding they’d ever been to and not being boastful because it was ours, but it was the best we’d been to as well.All in all, if you are looking for a wedding venue with “Southern Charm” to really engulf your guests in all the traditions of New Orleans we assure you this venue is it. They made our planning process so much easier than I could have imagined and were very responsive when we called or emailed any questions. The owners truly take pride in not only delivering quality service, but ensuring you and your guests have memories that will last a lifetime. We where looking for an amazing place to have our wedding, I search online for weeks and then I typed in wedding venue in New Orleans and this beautiful place popped up. We stepped out on faith and decided to have our special day there without every stepping foot in the build. Southern oaks plantation surpassed our expectations. Everything about Southern Oaks was exquisite the food, the service, the ambiance, and the time they put in to make March 3rd the best day EVER.. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Southern Oaks in the summer of June 14, 2013, and words cannot fully express how AMAZING, WONDERFUL, WHIMSICAL, & MAGICAL our wedding experience was. Our guests (60 percent of which were from out of town) were totally blown away by the experience and almost all of them have commented that it was the best wedding theyve ever been to. I am from New Orleans, but my husband is from the Caribbean island of Trinidad & Tobago, and many of our guests were first-time visitors to the city. Southern Oaks orchestrated a true NOLA experience for them, and helped affirm why we chose to have our wedding in the Big Easy!! u2028Weve received such an outpouring of love, support and positive feedback from friends and family that we dont know what to do with ourselves! The venue was absolutely beautiful, the food was abundant and so delicious, the music kept the party going including the brass band and the staff was pleasant and attentive. It took everyone’s breath away. Not to mention Stacey (our primary wedding coordinator) made the planning process a BREEZE. Both Stacey, Mr. Bobby, and the staff made our wedding day so easy & amazing. Everything was so organized to the point where all we had to do was show up. It also helped that Southern Oaks was a one-stop shop for our food, beverages, music, horse and carriage, brass band and decorations. Its a warm, down-home family-owned and operated business and we truly felt part of the family. The wedding experience was the perfect start to our marriage, and was a blessing for us and many others in attendance. Because of Southern Oaks, many of our family and friends that got visa’s just to come to the US, will be returning to the BIG EASY! I truly had a fairytale wedding with the white horse and carriage, the fireworks, and brass band! It set it off!! Our family and friends were in awe. We undoubtedly recommend Southern Oaks as a venue for anyone considering a New Orleans wedding. We want any and everyone to experience magic that is Southern Oaks! From the staff, to the owners, you are not just another bride to them, you are special and you are treated like royalty on your wedding day

Nothing i could write would do this place justice I had my wedding there in july and everything was just so perfect and magical a real life fairy tale!!!!

Good food and drinks. Small room limited seating.

It amazes me how going to a place that housed slaves is now being used to bring profit to the wealthy and well off. Minimum rate for activities is 13K.So much history in this place and a energy that refuels me too.

My niece had her wedding at this place. It was very nice and easy to find.
