Great club with nice VIP section for popping bubbly. I had my birthday party there one year and it was lovely. Great bottle service and the waitresses are awesome.
What a disaster of a night. Depending on the artist and night this venue can be either conducive to hosting open happy parties with a beautiful young vibrant crowd, or it can turn dark and scary. Saturday of this past weekend was one of those dark and scary nights. Id like to share my story, as it reminded me that this world is not always fun and open minded. The event in question revolved around the artist known as DJ Pauly D, who also costars on the TV show The Jersey Shore. Im not proud of the fact I was intrigued enough to pay money to see DJ Pauly, but as a gay man watching the show it was comical enough, and I was looking forward to come gym, tan, laundry bro-ing out first pumping action. At the very least it was intended to give me a good chuckle, and the guy honestly seems to take himself seriously enough it might be good.I was with about 5-10 other guys, all celebrating a birthday and in good spirits. We werent drunk, and as we ubered there we were psyched about the group experience. Yes, I will admit we were going into an unknown for now a big group of gays was going to be treated, but we were confident we could dance and hold our own with the guys with spiked hair and muscles. What we werent expecting was for the staff to be the problem. I can envision preparing to host this event, and it causing the security staff to consider drunken fights with meat head tank top dudes, but we were far from that. From the time we walked in we were treated with disrespect, and for no apparently good reason. We bought our regular tickets at the door, and then we remembered we had gone to Kaskade only a few months back with VIP tickets and had a wonderful time. At the kaskade event we were allowed upstairs and down, and there was a huge front and back area to the venue that was well lit with colorful lights, couches, add balconies. So we gladly paid the extra money for DJ Pauly and entered the club. From there we went upstairs and along the balcony lining the dance floor underneathe. As a large group we walked together and eventually ended up bumping into many closed doors. It seemed like at least half the club was closed off in comparison to kaskade. That didnt deter us and we continued around to the upstairs VIP bar. At that point, what I assume to be the VIP manager approached our group and verbally accosted my friends. He yelled obscenities, add threw a temper tantrum fit about how we were disrespecting HIS club and that hed never seen such a blatant disrespect for private property. Now consider that we had paid extra to just walk around upstairs and that we were merely fulfilling our tickets. The manager shook the shoulders of one friend, berated two or three for their inexcusable actions in looking behind big black velvet curtains, and then would not accept my friends apology who was trying to control the situation from escalating. The whole interaction took all of 10 minutes, but it was embarrassing and changed the whole dynamic of the night. It was very unprofessional. The fight with the manager also brought unwanted scrutiny from other staff, bartenders, and patrons. We suddenly were left to our own devices at the bar and everyone moved away from us. I personally had ordered us a round of drinks, and stood there for another 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to pour the drinks while he spoke poorly of our group and motioned at us like he didnt like us being around his workstation. I asked my friends to walk away so I could change the dynamic back to being fun and get our drinks, but when the bartender finally ran my card and at the drinks up on the bar he said very loudly... OK, mister Jones... Your drinks are ready, I hope you have a wonderful night... All with extreme sarcasm and he motioned for the other patrons to laugh at me. I motioned for him to lean over and said, This is not VIP! This is not a bar I want to support. I will never come back! What a disgrace you all are!We left and have since decided the Metro is not a fun place to bring out of town guests. I do not recommend the club.
I cant emphasize how LIT the new years eve event was. These guys know how to throw a party. Theres several different rooms, each with a different style of music, and different crowds. The VIP section upstairs was fantastic. The unlimited premium bar was well worth the price. I will be coming back in the future, and I will be bringing friends!
Entering as photographers my wifes was approached by what looks like a kid and said her camera bag need to be searched and began to unzip it. Now just the flash are $600x3. The receivers $100 x3 .The cheapest lens $1000. We had 3 lens. She yelled for him to stop and showed then.He told the other guy. Man i was looking for something good to take.So watch your bags when they search them and watch their hands.
Listen. Nas was in the building and they acting liked he was was nothing. I told the DJ 5 times to pay homage and it went in one ear and out the other. Shame om you Metro for disregarding a living legend
Very nice. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Staff was great. Multiple areas to hang out. Must see the chandelier above the main dance floor.
This is my favorite place to hear EDM music and watch incredible DJ spin
We love the talent brought to New Orleans. Always a great time. We love this venue. I have experienced world wide djs, weddings, benefits, and private parties all under one roof.
Best spot when they have club night events hands down.
Went for the Diplo concert; it was a phenomenal experience. The venue is extremely well set up with a very friendly and helpful staff. Drinks are priced about what you would expect them to be, with budget options available. Made for an amazing night in New Orleans.
We bought tickets for events during the essence festival online, in advanced. The doors were supposed to open at 10:30 but yet I am still standing in line at 11:36 and the line isn’t moving. It is hot and I have sweated off 20 lbs. I’m ready to go home and take another shower. This is very unprofessional.
I got VIP tickets, and was told we could go anywhere in the club. The VIP area is on the second floor (I think?) but apparently my group walked into an area that was off limits even though there was no sign or notice to say so. We realized no one was in that area and walked back to where a bar was so we could get a drink, and some goon came and put his hands on our shoulders firmly and menacingly as though he was our friend, but you could tell he was threatening us. He berated us and said I wouldnt go in your bedroom if I was in your house and other things to the effect that he was ready to be violent with us. For walking around the VIP area!!! I feel like he may have been drunk. Very unprofessional. Make it obvious where you want or dont want your patrons. And treat VIP like VIP or stop selling it.
Best venue to go to during the Essence Festival. They always bring in the best talent and they have more than enough room to accommodate the entire city
OMG the Metropolitan is so nice. We had our Morpheus pre and post party there in conjunction with Generations Hall and the food was great. The staff was great. The atmosphere great! Such a good time. Thank you!🎈
I love this place!! It has 3 big rooms with dance floors and upstairs VIP and bars all over!! The djs were off the chain!!
Definitely a younger crowd (twenties) but nevertheless a good time. I saw Dash Berlin and it was a great show! I was impressed by the visual experience as well as the music.
Went to a party here while on vacation. I appreciate the presence of all of the security guards. But not enough bottled girls for quick bottle service. Venue is nice and there are multiple areas and floors. DJs were doing what they needed to. Makes you feel like youre at 2 or 3 clubs. Mess around and be a different person in each one 😂. When I come back to NOLA, Ill make my way there again.
This is the worst club I have ever been too. People have paid money for tickets to get in and are left standing outside for hours in the heat. No announcement or information as to why the club is not letting people in. No one is offering any water.Essence should not allow this venue to host anything in representation of them ever again.Unprofessional promoters. Just the absolute worst venue in all my years of attending Essence.
Went there for the mr. Legs contest put on by bridge house. It was an outstanding night. The staff was very friendly and respectful.
Was treated absolutely horribly and with a VIP ticket from bartenders and staff. spent 50$ for 4 people . to bartenders and staff . half of the upstairs was closed, wich is fine but the people at the door didn’t tell us . we got screamed at for just looking behind a curtain that had no sign saying we couldn’t enter. like this guy crucified us after we tried saying sorry . we only peaked to see if anything was happening wich we had access to last time . we would not have gotten VIP at all. we were than treated so badly after waiting over 15 min for a drink at the VIP bar and legit got yelled at again, got very bad vibes / unprofessional vibes from bar staff . and they were mean to us . like giving us insults for being gay for sure . we felt unwelcome . this was not PLUR . and we literally purchased 4 VIP tickets ! . careful if you are gay. they will not like you .
Was gifted our VIP tickets, literally every single we talked to was so nice, (it was my 1st Mardi Gras) I legit was given 2 whole bags of beads and someone even gave me a Kaskade poster from the show. 100% worth the trip!!!!!
Nice space. Poor Production Staff which is a third party company. Event Mgr was cool and security.
I drive 6 hours from Houston to come here all the time. I love their menu and they always have amazing DJs at a great price. No place to sit down unless you have VIP.
The service is terrible, customer service is non-existent, and the managers are poor excuses for leaders. I will not be back and I encourage anyone else to avoid it at all costs.
One of New Orleans best venues! Great parties and music.
Awful staff that kicks sober people out for no reason other than standing and looking weird.
This is probably the worst venue to host an event ever. The refuse to give anyone tap water, and only offer bottled water for $3. There are never enough bartenders for the crowd, so there are crazy long lines. Bartenders are incredibly rude, I literally begged for a glass of tap water or even a cup of ice and they refused.
I always enjoy myself when I am at Metro. Great atmosphere, awesome DJs, and elaborate cocktails.
Love big stans events
They double booked the section we rented and refused to let my gf back to our section after she went to the bathroom. Also, on New Years Eve they made us stand outside for over 30 minutes despite us paying $3k ahead of time. We got inside at 11:55.
Just left this club after standing outside in line for an hour and a half with my wife & 2 other couples. No staff offered any explanation for delay. Doors were supposed to open at 10:30. One young lady behind me passed out from the high humidity. We paid $120 for presale tickets thru Eventbrite & now we’re just stuck! We’ve visited New Orleans dozens of times & NEVER have we been so inconvenienced!
Very accommodating with our group of 40+. Nice atmosphere. Service was great.
Fun fun you really could vibe
Crystal Method show. Tickets statesd doors opened for 9 pm. Doors didn’t open until 10pm. Staff was 100% clueless on how to handle crowd waiting. Left around 12:50am before crystal method went on. Drinks were overpriced. Would never see a show here again.
Nice venue 3 stories and all lay different music but overly crowded and a bunch of old people lol maybe we just went on the wrong night .
Great venue. Spacious, lovely decor.
If you love house music and european-style night clubs this is your paradise.
All white party. Essence festival 2018...#lit
Went to the all white party. I enjoy it every year.
Partied at this club for Essence Music Festival 2015. Will never go back my friends and did bottle service and brought two bottles of Moët and the waitress gave us plastic cups to drink out of. It wasnt until I asked to speak with someone in charge to get champagne glasses. We spent good money at the club and recieved horrible service.
Worst bartender i’ve ever had. over charged me and worst service i’ve had. will never give this place my business again.
Let me start off by saying the venue is really nice and legitimately loved it. Drinks were a little overpriced, but thats subjective. However, there is no excuse for how I was treated by the security staff. I took a bus 8 hours one way to come to Eric Prydz here. He is without a doubt my favorite electronic musician and Ive been thrilled to come since the tour was announced. After enjoying most of the set, I was out on the patio chillin out when the person beside me offered me some hand rolled cigarette that he said was organic/ vegan, super special local etc. tobacoo. Ill try anything twice, so of course I tried it. Well I immediately felt some stomach foam coming up my tubes and coughed up some flem in the trash can as I am not a heavy cigarette smoker, especially if its unfiltered. Was immediately kicked out because of a no puke policy. I was by no means drunk, and had only taken in 2 $10 vodka and redbulls.Youre a nightclub. People are going to puke. If theyre going to do it respectfully, respect should be given the other way around. So after being carried out like an animal, even after calmly explaining I wasnt sick and just coughed on some cigarette smoke, I asked to speak to the manager/ owner. The level of unprofessional-ism that ensued is still blowing my mind. He said, verbatim, the conversation here is over and if you keep talking I will call the police. Who runs a business like that? I wasnt even allowed to be escorted back in to get my girlfriend who I had no way of contacting because of her phone not working. This was a huge problem as neither of us had ever been in New Orleans.Needless to say I will never be back, which is too bad because I legitimately loved the venue. Really cool historic vibe inside an old house. If any management sees this and has some sort of apology or godforbid even a refund, I would really appreciate it. Otherwise, I hope you can realize the error of ways in which you run a business and notice that the patrons that go to electronic events will not stand for such treatment.Peace and chicken grease.
Very nice vein you had a ball
I love this place coming from Las Vegas they have a great atmosphere and the music is viberant!!!
New Years Eve in NOLA! This place is huge!
Manager was mean but owner is a very nice guy .
Went to a party here Thanksgiving weekend. Great open space but almost a mile from Canal and Bourbon.
Nice atmosphere but of you leave out they make you pay to get back in
I was in VIP so everything is 5 star in VIP.
If workin for the business they hold people to such a high standard where is you mess up once they let you go with out any form of verbal warnings or anything and say it’s umprofessional to be human
Really fun night club and reasonably cheap
Huge club, actually like 3 clubs in 1.
Nice venue overpriced tiny drinks
Big white guy makes the best drinks :) hehe
Beautiful setting for a wedding reception!!
Its so big and they have great security
One of the premier clubs in New Orleans! Didnt like that they didnt have Dusse but overall always a great experience.
Maybe it was the occasion (New Years) but it had too much going on. Soo many different music genres fighting against eachother and the lines for the bathroom were ridiculous.
Gorgeous place to host a party
They kick people out for no reason
Overpriced and bad service. 30+ mins to get service on a busy night.
Metropolitan is a place to meat people and enjoy yourself
I expect a place to be open when they claim not an hour after. Between that and other items they clearly have no regard for their customers. Owned by Yankees
A must for EDM lovers!
Awesome event venue!
Great place to meet people!!
I was surprised to show up at an EDM event on a Saturday. We still made a night of it but I would not pay $40 at the door for that. Still a quality establishment in my book.
Every Event that I Attended here was always A1!
Best in NOLA.
New Orleans best night life venue
Best club in the city
Had a great time
Nice!
Awesome Event!!
This place is always lit!!!!
Overpriced, overcrowded, lame music.
Great venue,

Pesimo, horrible, very bad, naca music, naca people, drunk and fat in fitted dresses, dog bodies, dwarf bodoques, there is no place to sit if you do not consume, I do not recommend it, terrible service and the bar is disgusting, if you look for where have fun bayan to anywhere else
Awesome
