Love this place! They always make sure my car is taken care of and the job is done right. Highly recommend!
Mechanic, manager and staff have no idea where my car went, but agree to working on it!I went today to pick it up and the was straight up GONE!I was told by the lady at the counter that it was my fault because although I communicated with them, I took too long to get the car. The lady was extremely rude. She all but told me to get the fug out. She told me that I was playing games, she didnt have time to get me a copy of my receipt and just continued to berate me. I remained calm then sat down and asked for the manager. She said he wasnt there, she didnt know where he was and she wasnt going to call him and bother him with this nonsense. The manager showed up and agrees to have worked on the car, but didnt know where the car went.I have since contacted an attorney and filed a police report.Id advise you to take your vehicle to a company more professional. They also keep all of their records and receipts in a spiral notebook.Dont take your car here!
Perfect guy cacamo.the best repair shop near here
Excellent place to take your car. Honest and friendly. The best New Orleans has to offer in my book.
Very fast turnaround. Honest pricing. Good dependable family business.
My family and I have brought out vehicles to them for many years and one of the things I can say about this business they have been honest about their workmanship. If they cannot fix it, they will let you know. If something goes wrong with a repair theyve completed, they have said to bring it back. Just recently, I saw the owner Allen. He was quite funny saying they brought me out of retirement, but I told them Im just giving them two days!Keep up the wonderful customer service Ms. Carol as well as the mechanics.
Brian is doing a super job! I know we all miss Alan, but Im glad there is still a Cacamo to take care of my car.
I always refer people to place that are honest and know how to do a job right👍🏻👍🏻 “Cacamo”
Thank you for helping poor asian guy with his old 2006 Hyundai elantra.
Staff was very helpful and also very friendly. Will recommend them to anyone.
They are honest and trustworthy. A tire dealership told me that I needed expensive front end work. I took it to Cacamos and they put it on the rack and inspected it. They told me there was nothing wrong. Because they dont charge for estimates there was no cost. My extended family has been using them for several years.
Great experience with them. Got a tune up, called first thing on a monday morning and they were able to squeeze me in early and had it done in the timeframe I needed. Very friendly staff, from the front desk staff to the mechanic who came out and took an additional look at my vehicle when I came back with a question later.
Honest, dependable. Reasonable pricing
Very pleasant people and fast service. Thanks Cacamos.
Reliable mechanics here. Always took care of me in a timely fashion. Best to set appointments though. They can be quite busy.
UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. I have been a loyal customer to Alan and Paul Cacamo for many years. Sadly Alan has sold the business and the new ownership is rude and does not care about their customers. Avoid at all costs. A shame to see such a great mechanic shop go to ruin.
Great service,awesome job
I love the work they do and I have recommended family and friends. Honest dependable great Auto Repair Shop. Thanks
These people care about their customers! I needed a quick look at my brakes and they fit me in the very next day. Fair prices and honest work. Id let my daughter take her car there and wouldnt even follow up. Cacamos is the best!
Cacamos Owner is dishonest and doesn’t care. Said nothing wrong with car, even though vibrating terribly. They never put it up on rack to look at it. Said they did. Told us to drive it 1000 miles home on a holiday weekend. Would have been stranded. Santos automotive showed us ruined cv axles that wouldn’t have made it 50 miles. Avoid cacamos like the plague!
We had a brake repair required on a cross country trip. Brought truck to Cacamo’s and two hours later we were back on the road. Faster and less money than we ever expected. It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a trip to the auto mechanics. Thanks for everything
This is a true family business and youre treated as part of the family when you bring your car here. I would never take my car anywhere else. Their prices are beyond fair; they would never try to swindle you out of a few extra bucks, and their work is 100% quality. My car needed a ton of work because of serious deception from a prior owner who taped over the check engine and oil light from inside the dashboard/cluster. So the car had all these problems I wasnt privy to. Alan and Brian kept me informed throughout the whole repair process and spent countless unpaid hours finding the origin of all these issues. They really went above and beyond any expectations of a car repair shop and I cant recommend them enough.
After moving back to New Orleans two years ago, I had been yet to find a great, reliable place to bring my truck. After some car troubles I decided Id try Cacamos. I was not disappointed by any reviews. I spoke primarily with Carol and Alan and they were both extremely polite, down to earth, and accommodating. While getting a vehicle worked on can be inconvenient and stressful at times, the two of them and their staff made the experience easy and stress free. I will be going back to them in the future for sure!
I have been there twice And recommended a friend. Fast, friendly service run with the feel of a developed over decades neighborhood feel. True test for me, is being female, going into this environment and being treated as equals- not being intimidated, in a male dominated industry is more than half-the battle won. Pricing is very fair....
Dont buy parts and bring them here. If you are going to buy parts make sure you speak directly to the owner to make sure that he can guarantee his work. I bought brand new parts out of the store with approval from the owner. Once they assembled them I had mechanical issues with them only a week later. I strongly believe that they tried their best but there was a lack of communication. Once I brought him my vehicle the third time he changed the parts out I personally had bought that were higher quality. I was upset because he didnt communicate with me and tell me that he was going to take my parts out. I asked for the parts back that I bought for the vehicle and he got upset when I asked for them. I let him keep them because I didnt want to escalate the tension. My car is not riding any better than when I brought it in. The squeaks arent completely gone either. So I feel like I didnt get my moneys worth.
Those guys have years of experience behind them, theyre straight forward and take time to chat about your vehicle and answer any questions you have. They were the only one in New Orleans wiling to service our 86 Chevy van. They have honest prices too.
Great service. Low prices. Quick turn around.I called around to different shops and he was $200 cheaper than other stealerships on replacing motor mounts.Ive gone there twice. He explains things without a condescending attitude and we share fishing stories. Super sweet guy. I absolutely recommend this place. Bring your car in that morning, pick it up that afternoon. Boom!
Quick, friendly service. I needed a new alternator for my Ford Explorer. I was in and out in less than an hour. They had an alternator in stock, charged me $150 for it and my total bill, with a $60 tow was $325. I was able to listen in on some phone conversations where they were working to find the best price on a part for another customer, and they really seemed to take time to find the cheapest option. Ill be using them in the future, and calling them for advice if its something they cant handle.
I was there to check my service engine light. The guy made a examine with the computer, gave me extra brake liquid and let me go with 0 charge. Of course I tipped him, but it was very quick, good and friendly. Recommended highly from me.
Nice guys, easy going and no hassle - only down side is they dont take credit cards. But again, friendly, informative and honestly I felt like I was not being taken advantage of. I will certainly return and highly recommend.
My car broke down on a road trip and I was more than fortunate to find Cacamos.I was treated honestly, with respect, even given advice on places to eat nearby while my vehicle was worked on.Good to know there are still honest mechanics left.
I have brought my car into Cacamos at least 3 times in the past couple of years, because its an old, high-mileage car (or should I say, was). I have never felt jerked around or cheated and theyve always given my car a thorough look-over every time Ive brought it in. When my car finally rusted out underneath (it came from up north, where they salt the roads in winter), they were still willing to give it a look and help me decide whether to try repairing it or call it totaled - they did this without charging me for their time, when in the end I decided to scrap it. You wont be disappointed with this shop.
Fast service and great prices!
Old-school, original New Orleans auto repair. Honesty when you need it most!
Repaired my truck a couple times on minor jobs and maintenance. Guy did everything possible to keep the bill low and didnt try to tack anything on there. Great guy. Great job.
Very helpful. 1800 miles from home and I would trust them to work on my vehicle anytime. I am very thankful to them!
Very nice people and wonderful affordable service. Bought my car there for service today and will continue.
Yup. These guys. I trust them. I was broke af, and they did what they had to to make my 96’ taco keep running. It’s still running. Thanks guys.
Mom & pop honest mechanic
Friendly, knowledgeable & trustworthy! They are fair and quick with great customer service.
Alan has been doing my auto repair since 1999. They do great work at a great price, and good entertainment, as well!
Al and Paul are stand up guys who can be trusted. Great place!
Down to earth, professional mechanics with a neighborly feel. These are my guys!
I had such a poor experience with these guys. New to the city, needing a mechanic and not having any personal references to follow up on, I went to the internet for a recommendation. Cacamos had glowing reviews!1st red flag...I never received a phone call saying the work on my Jeep was complete. I called the following morning and was told they had called me and I just hadnt returned the call. Well, no.2nd red flag...I had asked them specifically to put my clutch lock on if it was going to be parked outside (open Jeep for anyone to jump in). It wasnt on when I picked it up.3...It made the same noises after I left as when it had dropped it off. They a redeeming opportunity though bc I was bringing it back the following week (bc they hadnt called, refer to #1, they hadnt done all the necessary work without getting permission (thank you for that!))4...Brought it back my scheduled day the following week, and they had no recollection of my appt or of what needed to be done. I was told the quote I was given the previous week needed to be reexamined and that they probably wouldnt be able to get to it within the next day, or two!5...I made sure they had the correct phone # and asked again to have the clutch lock put on, and thats when things turned uglyyyy. The man got all sorts of upset, saying how it wasnt going to be stolen (showing me the camera images and throwing his arms around) that theyd been there 32 years and if I didnt trust them I should go elsewhere. I asked that he just listen to what I was asking, that I didnt expect the Jeep to be stolen, but cmon, its New Orleans. He stormed out, I followed, bc I was heated about not being heard and being spoken over. He wouldnt speak to me after that, except to continue to mumble loudly and be all pissy, saying he didnt have time for it. Im pretty calm and very respectful, I dont know what set him off, but boy whatever it was, it really got him. Speaking over me and getting mildly aggressive towards me bc I asked them to do it how I requested isnt an awesome way to handle a customer about to give you a decent amount of cash.Im a small business owner that would have happily given them a nice flow of business, hadnt Paul Cacamo taken his bad mood out on me. So I took Pauls advise and went elsewhere.
I have, so far, received more help from this garage and paid nothing for all the great insider information they wont tell you anywhere else! I would send anyone to this garage!
