We visited the ice castles and kids loved it

I hired The Maids to come in and clean my home last week. After much discussion about the expectations of the service and also speaking with Jim, the owner, we agreed to schedule a cleaning. They arrived with 4 ladies and Jim the owner came in to inspect the work as well. The were there approximately 2 1/2 hours and were to throughly clean the home including washing all the floors, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning my wood blinds, clean the kitchen appliances, dust light fixtures and wash down the wood work.When they said they were finished, I was charged $315 which is outrageous, but Jim assured me that they always charged this for an initial cleaning to get the house prepped to be maintained for future cleanings. My home is clean to begin with, which I commented to Jim and he agreed my home did not require that much prep, but they charged $140 an hour. When I called to schedule, I was told by the lady that answered the phone it would be $140 for the cleaning. Obviously, a miscommunication.After inspection, I realized that my floors had not been washed, my wood blinds still showed dust and swipe marks where they attempted to clean them, but it was not done well. My shower had water marks on the floor and the walls had not been washed down, but rather just sprayed with the shower head.I contacted Jim to cancel my service and let him know how disappointed I was with the cleaning and his response was to chuckle and tell me that I was never going to be happy with any service and we should definitely part ways. He then said, You told me that you had been through two other services and it is obvious, you will never be satisfied.Not the response you expect from the business owner, that had assured me that his cleaning service was different from the other commercial services and they would make sure they completed the items in my home that I had specified were issues with the other services in the past. When I told Jim that his response was inappropriate he just repeated that it was my problem essentially and we should part ways. No attempt to rectify, or justify that lack of work completed.I would avoid using The Maids of New Lenox unless you want to be overcharged and spoken to with complete condescension. Jim is very arrogant and rude to deal with.
