Just awful. Had gotten my haircut here back in the fall for the first time and it was good enough that I decided to go again. This time was not even close to good. The woman cutting my hair held my hair up to ask how much I wanted cut off the top. I showed her and it was initially fine. Then she brushed my hair down to trim the front. I thought she was just going to straighten it out but she proceeded to cut over and inch off, after I had just told her the previous length was fine. Besides this, the top is completely messed up, with the hair on one half of my head being a completely different length on the other side with no layering/texturing. Maybe the other barbers there could do a better job but I seriously doubt if Ill ever go back.

Love Sal’s Barber Shop. Any barber you get is more than qualified to give you a fresh cut. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and have never left unsatisfied. They also support the community which is icing on the cake.

Sent Significant Other to get a simple cut. Came back completely covered in hair; looked like he had laid down on the floor after they cut his hair. Fade is not smooth and has some odd bumps in it when looked at from different angles. Has a random long hair where the rest has been shaved down. Was really hopeful about this place given the good reviews. However, maybe it was just the lady he got the haircut from. Debating ever going back...

Anthony is easily the best & friendliest barber that I have ever met. He’s a must and is worth every penny and then some. Sal’s is definitely the best traditional, community barber shop in New City and Rockland County.

Why does anyone go to Sals? To get a buzz cut. If you want a regular haircut with scissors, forget it, unless you get Sal. My husband and son were getting terrible haircuts there. They both have great hair to work with and were coming home nearly bald. I ended up cutting their hair until I told them to try New City Barbers. Wayyyy better. Now they come home with the nice regular yet stylish haircuts they need for business. Sals is great if you want a buzz cut and dont have to have a short but regular cut style for your job.
