I would give zero stars, but google won’t let me. They called us at 10:30am the day we were leaving for our trip and cancelled our reservation. We were going to pick up the car at 4:30pm. They left a voicemail on my boyfriend’s phone - him and I both tried calling for almost 2 hours until someone decided to answer. They pretty much told us sorry about your luck, not our fault. What is the point of making a reservation two weeks in advanced when they can cancel on you last minute because they don’t have any cars? Very unprofessional. We will not be renting from them in the future.
Have an issue with billing, was mislead and customer service did nothing would not Recommend going here just use enterprise it is much easier

Mark is a mental health issue that decided to eat lunch instead of deliver my car. He got hostile when I questioned this and started yelling and screaming. I am now without a car after a reservation. Bad business. Do not go to this store.
Hertz did their best to satisfy my wants.
I just figured out the Hertz New castle charged me twice on my card. I cannot wait for tomorrow to come.!!! I need to call the guy behind the counter. I am really upset!!!
I would like to pick upmy truck. It says online that your open, went to your shop says its open on north. I tried googling that and nothing. Had to go the police station to find out where nicks on north is because its not on north st. which i drove up and down trying to find it. I finally get to nicks on north from the help of the officer and its closed. Thanks just thanks for havin me drive around town for nothin because you guys cant update your hours on ur door or put it on an answering machine.
The people here were great I would go back to them just because of the staff.
We will never use this place again. Husband was short on time and didnt put gas in the rental. They charged $9.99 a gallon for them to refill the rental. They charged the amount for a 30 gallon tank. We had a compact car. Total bill was over $600 for a 3 day rental. I had to rent another car about a month ago. Rented it from Enterprise and they charge under $5.00 a gallon if they have to refill it.
The airport experience was amazing. But over all this is the worst rental I have had. I rented a car at my closest branch to me. I called a week before my vacation, and they did not have my reservation on file! The people at the New Castle Branch were very rude. They would not honor the price or the vehicle class that i previous reserved. I went on to the district manager. His name was Mickey. He answered my first call. He said he would fix this mess for me. He NEVER did anything. He never called me back and would not answer my phone calls! After this mess I had to drive the whole way to the Airport to get a car for more money. Also because of this I will not get my bonus points for renting from my local branch.This was the worst experience that I ever had with Hertz! I will never rent form that Branch again!
The only bright spot about this visit was the young gentleman behind the car rental desk who acknowledged me as I walked in, greeted me kindly, and proceeded to assist me (he was also very helpful when I spoke with him earlier by phone). However, I was denied being able to rent a car with my debit card (I had more than enough funds to cover the rental fee) due to an average credit score, and then told I would also be unable to have a friend or relative secure a car for me with a regular credit card. So not only was MY integrity questioned, but that of my friends and family, which was quite insulting. I could have provided excellent character references, including my employer, who owns a lovely bed and breakfast establishment in NY, who also would have been able to secure the car for me! And my drivers license is current, without any suspensions or fines, although no check was run on my license, which seemed peculiar. It hardly seems an adequate reason to refuse someone a car rental because they have an average credit rating, which a lot of average folk like myself do in a small, economically challenged area. To those who are refused by Nicks/Hertz, might I suggest you try Terries Auto Sales/Rentals on the Wilmington Road, where you wont encounter this prejudice.

I had called this afternoon to get information and to rent a car. As soon as the call was answered, I was placed on hold. I had been on hold for more than 50 minutes without contact from the other end of the line, past the operating hours. I have State Farm Insurance, AAA membership, and a Wal-Mart Associate Dscount card. I never even had a chance to find out what options were available. For all I know, I could have been put.on hold while someone was playing Fortnite.
Easy to rent no hassle, fast to get a car and to drop it off.
Did not have good options for rental. Got the car with very high milage and bad transmission. They rented the car even when it was about to be sold.

Unprofessional.Called them to get a rental. Someone said theyd call my insurance company and never did. I called back three hours later and they told me the manager was calling my insurance company. They never did that either.Bad service!
