Well the first time I rented a car it went smoothly. 2 weeks later when I tried to rent a car was horrible. When I went to pick up the car they told me they dont accept debit cards for 250 hold anymore but they didnt inform me of the change before I picked up my car. When i returned the car after paying for an extra day because I needed it. They charged me 297.00 and they kept the 250.00 saying it just goes away after you return the car.. So I had to call and reschedule the car. They were trying to charge me more for changing the date. They were very rude on the phone. I went to go pick up the car on the rescheduled date and they canceled it because the lady on the phone told me Friday. Went I got there they told me ì was supposed to get it Thursday and canceled it. They didnt call me or inform me. And then tried to charge me 150 for canceling the car because I was so upset at this point. And the man on the phone told me no and I asked for a supervisor who canceled it and then hung up on me. I not only lost money because I couldnt get the car but I had to pay to stay extra in the hotel and I had to go with a different company to get a car and pay more money.I wouldnt recommend Avis to anyone.
Needed a rental and wanted to drive something newer and bigger. Since I use AVIS a ton, Casey, the owner, encouraged me to make an online account! When I got there I didnt have to sign, run my card, or anything really because I had already reserved the car online! Great advice and great customer service! The 2020 Jeep Sahara I got was sweet and the top came off easily for some fun in the sun!! Would definitely rent again! Thank you!
Avis had the best rates and the pick up location was near my home. When returning the car they was no outside drop off box and the building was closed and lock with no way to return the keys inside the open office, which cause me to pay an extra day when the car was returned. I also had to return this morning to drop off the keys. I feel that this is a way to increase renew at the customers expense.

Update: I need to share my experience with this Avis location which I never had before with any car rental company. I received a call right away from the manager at the location which tells me they really care about their customers. I am in Canada but she called me from states to make things right. She took time to understand my concerns and resolved them right away. I have never experienced such a professional and satisfying customer service experience with any of the big car rental companies. She resolved the miles issue but also ensured me that e-toll issue will be resolved and there is nothing to be concerned off. I wish all managers were like her who care about customer. I want to Thank her and I highly recommend this location - five star service.When I picked up my car odometer had 40,300 miles but when I checked my paperwork following day it stated 40,230 miles little mistake there, I was worried if I have to pay for 70 miles which I didnt put on that car then E-TOLL thing didnt work atleast couple places, I was worried that I will get charged for violations.
I booked my rental and didnt realize I chose Wilmington, NC 😫. They were just about to close too but that did not stop them from finding me something I could work with. The young lady said wait just one minute and 3 mins later I had a better suv than I came for. They were literally the best.

The SUV was very clean and new. I was able to pick it up early as well. The Personnel was very nice too.
Recently the airport removed night drop off and there was no place to leave the key. I left the car in the lot the night before it was due in and the staff didnt charge me for an an additional day, which was great. This location is extremely busy at open until close and somehow they manage to get things done. They usually accommodate me with an upgrade if my requested car isnt available. Jessy and Cassey are awesome. Great job!

I’ve been renting from Avis for a long time first because their rates are awesome they have a nice selection on cars and the check in and out process is pretty easy and quick I did have an issue with someone using my name and id but the manager Casey handled it for me in a timely manner. I frequently rent from Avis, and am always satisfied with the facility, service and vehicles. I HIGHLY recommend removing the E-toll transponder from the vehicle. I carry my own EZ-pass, and on several trips have had the Avis tranponder record tolls even though the little box was closed. No big deal.... right. Well after a few $.50 tolls hit your Credit Card with a convenience fee of $ 5.95 added... FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT CARS...You realize the Avis E-Toll system is a criminal enterprise. I suggest removing the E-toll transponder from the vehicle and leave it at the rental counter. I wont drive another Avis car equipped with the E-toll transponder.
I will NEVER and I mean NEVER rent from.this location again nor will I refer this company to my clients and business affiliates

We needed a car to get around town while our car was in the repair shop for the day and everything was so streamlined... from the reservation process on the website, to the quick, seamless rental car pickup which only took a few minutes. The car was clean and comfortable (almost brand new...only about 3,000 miles on it) and the rental agents were so professional and personable which made them a real pleasure to work with. We returned the car with the gas tank filled as requested and they just took the keys, printed out my receipt and wished me a nice rest of the day (all of which took about 2 minutes). We will definitely rent from AVIS and recommend AVIS to our friends and family in the future. Thank you for such a pleasant rental experience!!!

Imagine my COMPLETE surprise when I discovered that renting a car at this Avis location was a breeze. I hardly ever use that expression - but it was a BREEZE! Everything is low key. The agent was calm and assured and pleasant. Getting the beautiful car that I had, getting an extension on it, and returning it - all SO wonderful and drama-free that I will find excuses to return :) Truth: I had reserved at another company - but switched because Avis was more convenient. Best switch ever! Thank you so much.
Had a great experience with these folks. They are also Budget at the same airport (its the same desk, so dont go shopping for the price like I did, because its hilarious when the same person answers under the other company and kindly tells you that when you start with the same information.)They were professional, quick, easy, and only took the rental amount as the deposit. It was also handy to park there for free overnight while I had the car, although sometimes it can be very hard to find a spot.Return was easy as well. Price was decent. Good folks.

Unfortunately, I didnt have a good experience with Avis at the New Castle Airport. First,I called to reserve a BMW for my daughters prom. I called there three other times just to confirm the car because I didnt want any problems on that day. Customer service was polite . They confirmed the car will be coming from Philadelphia and it will be nice but couldnt tell me the color. The day of the prom I received the key to the car. All I can say is the car wasnt anything what I expected it to be. The BMW was small,old looking and plain. The BMW didnt look luxury like what they had on their website. My daughter ended up taking my car which looked a billion times better. Very disappointed with this rental place and with never go back there again.

I used to rent a car from this location every week for work. Even before I did that I always found it to be a very pleasant experience to rent cars from this location. The staff is very courteous and helpful and I am not saying this just because I know them. The location is very convenient with plenty of free parking space in case you need to leave your car there while renting. Since it is an airport location it is also very secure.

Unfortunately this time I did not have a good experience from Avis. I’m rent frequently from Avis mainly at the Newark location. This time I rent from new castle airport in Delaware. The agents is nice and friendly as usual. The agent at this location rent me a car with two bad tires. The tires was smooth as a baby butt. No thread in the tires. The night I was returning from my vacation it started raining. I notice the car begin to act weird in the rain; I decided to reduce my speed, within the next 30 mins I lost control of the car and started spinning in a circle trying to get control of the car. I personally took the car to get the tires checked and I was told the tires was bad on the vehicle. Upon returning the vehicle I told the agent what happened and express how upset I was. The agent told me that he knew one of the tires was bad. Avis has definitely lost a customer and further action are being taken. This could of been a tragedy for my family.
I love avis and especially with the great help of Jessie the employee that’s in the front as soon as you walk in. He’s very polite and he got me in and out so quick and gave me a quality car that worked for me and it was very clean.

Google reviews were the primary reason why I chose to start a long term rental at this location. It was a big mistake. Based on what I saw this facility is poorly managed with no regard for customer service.I was booked in for a month for a full size car with an upgrade coupon. Forget about the upgrade (the lady at the counter started laughing when I mentioned it), I was made to wait for 30 minutes for a dirty car which was smelling of smoke. And it had 5/8 tank of gas whereas they had 8/8 on my rental slip. When I went in to raise those issues I saw those guys fighting with a customer over a child seat that he had reserved in advance with his rental. The seat was filthy and broken - AND didnt have a base. I felt for that guy because he had a kid waiting and it was late in the evening and he surely couldnt drive away with THAT child seat.I was shocked to see such an attitude from the people managing this facility. I just got back in the car and drove away. Called them next day - forget about an apology they said they dont have ANY full size car available to switch me in to. The smoke smell is causing me migraines and I cant think of making my kids travel in this car. Even then AVIS at New castle airport wont do anything about it. Please avoid these guys if you dont want to destroy your mental peace.
Very pissed off. After paying for rental online, they failed to inform me that I needed a major credit card (not Visa debit bank card) to pay $100 deposit once I went to pick up car causing me aggravations.
