We were very disappointed with Sylvan. Unfortunately, after only one month and an extensive conversation to try to get a plan more specific to our childs needs, we were unable to get a plan that does not conform to the one size fits all approach Sylvan takes. After a conversation involving getting our childs teacher on board with the learning plan (and being told we would get a plan sent over for this), within 2 hours we got an email that this would not happen. This service is VERY overpriced for what you get. Our childs original assessment led her to take tests for the entire first month to see where she should start in her tutoring....only to be told (a month later and $$$ later) that the original assessment she did was not very accurate. So basically, we paid for her to take tests for another 8 hours and still not know where they needed to start with her b/c all of a sudden she is testing on her accurate level!?! I will pay a private tutor next time, get better results, and probably save money, and definitely save time!

Sylvan has done great things for my son. He grew almost a whole grade level in just a few months. He has more confidence and his engagement in class as gone up tremendously. The staff are well trained, well educated, and super nice!

If I could give them zero stars, I absolutely would. BUYER BEWARE. First, the instructors do not provide one-on-one service as advertised. Your child will be placed with 1 or 2 other children with the same teacher. The students are all doing separate lesson plans, but there is not undivided attention from the teacher - even though you are paying $45-$50 an hour. This is a one-size-fits all program and is not tailored to your child individually. Whether your child is an auditory learner, hands on learner or otherwise, your kiddo will be working on an i-pad program (I have found plenty of free apps that are more than comparable). THE BIGGEST ISSUE: If you pay in advance, they will put you on a rolling system without your knowledge. Which means, you will be obligated to attend every week on the same time and day (they will not tell you this by the way). If you miss because you were unaware of this policy - it is NOT written in the agreement - then you will lose/forfeit the cost of that class. Sylvan refunded me half of the hours that I paid in advance. I lost almost $400. Please find a more suitable learning experience for your kiddo. This place is over priced and throws your kid in front of a computer. My kiddo attended the facility in New Braunfels, but Schertz is the managing center. Mindy is the manager / owner of this franchise.

Staff is really nice and caring. My kid loves to go here to tutoring.

Great teachers! I love the low student:teacher ratio. My daughter really enjoyed working with Mr. Gene and Ms. Candace.
