Todd has a great rapport with my son. He creates his sessions around his abilities and reviews any lessons from school that posed a challenge. Todd keeps my active boy engaged. He is always enthusiastic, positive and calm. I appreciate the other lessons he provides about taking pride in work, not giving up and taking time to complete an assignment to the best of ones abilities. Todd has been working with my kids to provide them extra academic enrichment and challenges outside of school for the past 4 years - since my daughter was 6 years and my son was 5. Though they are both very different kids with distinct learning styles, Todd has found many ways to engage with them individually. Our 8th grader has been working with Next Level Up for the past 3yrs on a weekly basis. What was at first hesitation on his part to work with an external resource, he has come to see the value of a structured time. As parents we see greater engagement by our son and some welcome structure to his writing assignments. What we have also found is that while the tutoring is focused on improving his identified stumbling block, Next Level Up is good at teasing out additional time management or process issues to address. We have seen value in the academic coaching and recommend the team.

Todd is an excellent teacher. He has the personality to bond with both of my children, ages 10 and 12. The kids pay attention to him and I can see a very positive interaction. The results have been very good in both study habits and their work. He doesnt talk down to them but deals with them in a very adult like manner. My 10 year-olds math skills have improved markedly and her teacher at school has even commented on it and noticed the difference. In addition to his teaching qualities he is very punctual and never keeps the kids waiting. Also if a session needs more time he does not hesitate to stay a little longer.I would highly recommend Todd for anyones children of any age. In my case the results speak for themselves.

Im a homeschooler with several years between high school and college. In the meantime Ive continued learning all sorts of things through MOOCs, books and so on, but I felt my math skills needed outside help. Thats where Todd comes in! Hes been tutoring me for about a year, mainly focused on algebra. From the first lesson I got a handle on concepts I thought Id never understand. I also found new ways to look at math that I already knew. Ive learned a lot working with Todd and I really enjoy our lessons.

Our son was in 4th grade and was struggling in school. His self-confidence was declining as a result of his struggles. Our son has an IEP for various delays (i.e. speech and language, comprehension, decoding, etc). Todd has worked hard to develop a relationship with our entire family. Todd took the time to get to know our son which has helped him to better understand the specific challenges our son faces.Todd has a very holistic approach to academic coaching. He doesnt just focus on the specific academic assignments. He realizes that attitude, motivation, and approach to learning are all major factors that require his attention. Our son always feels energized and motivated to improve his learning after meeting with Todd. Hes also greatly helped our son in his difficult transition into Sixth Grade.Todd has helped teach our son how to properly study for tests. With Todds guidance our sons study habits have greatly improved. He now understands how he should be studying and approaching tests.Todd is extremely professional and does a great job communicating with us with respect to appointments. He will often have discussions with us after the sessions to touch base with us and provide us with his assessment. We greatly appreciate this additional time he spends with us (especially considering he charges by the hour and this is off the books).Todd meets with our son 1 hour a week. Its amazing how beneficial just one hour of one on one time a week can be. We wish that we had the resources to have Todd meet with us 2-3 hours a week. I know that it would be extremely valuable.Weve seen such growth in our son over the course of these 2 years. We look forward to working with Todd for as long as possible.
