Due to travel, Ive been forced to search out barbers in various cities. Google reviews usually point the way. It was no different in finding Hawkins, except...my visit there changed my willingness to go elsewhere. I have now found MY barber. As best I can, I find a way to always get back to Michaels chair. Hes that gifted. He takes it serious, listens intently to your preferences, and then delivers a first class cut. Every. Time!

Came in from out of town needing a haircut. Went on line picked them by location and reviews, filled out all the questions, picked a time for the next day, gave my credit card information (scary!)... at this point you don’t have an appointment you have a request for one (weird but ok). They will let you know! Next day they open at 9:00 I havent heard anything so I call but no answer, at 10:30 day of requested hair cut still no email, phone call or appointment... I call again lady answers so I explain that I need to schedule my day and she says the barber I requested is off today so my requested haircut appointment has been denied! A lot of work and anticipation for nothing, very frustrating.

Hawkins Barbershop seriously is just the coolest shop around. This place has the 50s feel and the sharpest Barbers around.My son is super serious about his hair and making sure it is clean and lined up right. Michael always makes sure my sons haircut is fleek or on point as my son describes it. Even if we cant get in with Michael because he is booked Ryan & Zach take care of my son and Michael always tells them exactly how my son likes his hair.

This is the best barber shop in Nashville. Not that I can vouch for any others because this is the only one I’ve been to since I moved to Nash. I started getting my hair cut with Hobby before they moved into this location and I’ve never had a bad cut. Been meaning to write a review once the shop opened. It’s a great old school vibe. Got mt first haircut since moving to Nashville here. Its a nice spot with a classic barber shop vibe. Be prepared for lots of pomade, but to definitely look and feel sharp as you walk out the door.

This is without a doubt the best barber shop in Nashvile. The attention to detail from all the master barbers is impeccable. Michael, the owner, has assembled a great staff and built great looking shop. I see John and he always gets me looking super fresh! Walk-Ins welcomed but appointments are encouraged. Michael has been my barber since I moved to Nashville in 2012. Hes an artist with the clippers and will be cutting my hair until I cant afford him. The new shop is definitely cool and has an awesome retro vibe. All the guys are certified barbers. Good music and no BS. Great place. I go to Hobby. I started going to him when I had near-buzzed hair and wanted to grow it long. He gave me cuts through the whole process and kept it looking good the whole time-- no awkward phase! Its now past my shoulders. Ive seen him do great work on short hair also, but if youre a dude with long hair or wanting long hair, Hobby is your guy.
