Kenny Smith has cared for our system at 2 different houses. His care, commitment to excellence, and, most importantly, honesty sets him apart and American apart. The guy has never recommended something we do not need. He always goes above and beyond. He is also super friendly. REQUEST HIM!

This industry if people are honest is not one that is often trusted since the vast many of us know nothing on how these units work. Couple that with the countless stories we have all heard of questionable practices and lack of faith, it is wonder we have any trust left. All that aside I can not begin to compliment Alex S. enough as the face of American Heating and Cooling from this customers perspective. His professionalism, honesty and integrity always left us feeling taken cared of vs taken advantage of. He is the reason we use American Heating and Air and I can not recommend them enough. Wade Pearson with American Heating and Cooling was truly a Christmas miracle! Our heat went out on Christmas Day and the temperature got to a high of 18 degrees that day. Wade came out right away and within minutes determined what the problem was and had one switch left on the truck that needed replaced. He got us up and running very quickly and was extremely professional, friendly, and informative. He saved Christmas! I will definitely be using American from now on for all of my HVAC needs.

Brand new Ryan home...1st week in no heat downstairs but upstairs was boiling, Called for service and American HVAC came out. They told me the zones were wired backwards and all should be good now. It worked for a week. Woke up no heat. Called for service and American back out. Guy hung around for a while said he needed a part and then left. That was 2 weeks ago, never seen the guy again or the part. This morning same thing...64 in house stat set to 68 no heat. I called their emergency number...no one answered. Some emergency number eh? I called their office and left a detailed message hoping to see someone out here today. Meanwhile the emergency tech calls me and starts reading me the riot act because I didnt leave a phone number or address. I said well you called me back so you do have a phone number. She starts talking over me being very combative until I finally just hung up. I hope to see them out here today to fix this thing again! System they installed has nothing but issues. Buyer beware!

Very responsive to request for service-they called me back within thirty min when I submitted a request online. Clear communication from the service representative when he came out-made it easy to understand what the issue was an how to repair. They were respectful of social distancing and wore PPE during visit. Reasonable pricing. Would highly recommend.

Our technician, Wade, was extremely thorough, respectful of our time & our home, and went above and beyond to make sure we fully understood how to maximize the lifespan and performance of our homes heating and cooling system. (1) Over a month after ordering a part for my unit, American Heating and Cooling had still not come to complete the service on my unit. (2) I called three times during that month, and each time was promised to have a return call to schedule the finish repair - no return calls ever came. (3) During this same time, another American Heating and Cooling crew came out to remove and replace an air return - after installing the new return line, the old return line was never removed as instructed (I had to do it) - the new line was not properly sealed (I had to redo this as well with mastik and duct tape - a mess! Dont waste your money - you wont get good help from this company.

I’ve moved into a new home and the AC compressor unit went out. One technician came and said what needed to be done but didn’t order the part. We then had to wait another 4 days for someone to come out and give us the same information. After the part was ordered, we had to wait for it to come in stock. When we finally got to getting the issue resolved we had gone almost 2 weeks without air conditioning. To add insult to injury, 5 hours after being replaced the unit goes out again. Now we are in the same circle. I wouldn’t recommend this company because of the ongoing issues that we are having. This has been a complete nightmare. The company hasn’t shown much empathy or urgency to fix our issue.

If you are looking for a company who’s workmanship and dependability you can rely on, American Heating & Cooling is for you. From the moment the call is answered to the service work being completed, they make you feel like you are their number one priority. One of my biggest concerns with being a single woman, finding a company that I could feel comfortable with was definitely at the top of my list. Moving forward they will always be my company to call. Punctual. Professional. Proficient. Thats exactly how I would describe my experience today with American Heating & Cooling.They came out right on time for the appointment. Now, if youre used to other heating & air companies, youd know that 8am could possibly mean 1pm. Not the case with them. I feel that they prioritized my time as a costumer.The techs were courteous and super respectful. They even made my dogs feel comfortable.I feel for a job that they did, they did it with great skill and the work looks great. Super fast & easy experience. Their proficient use of time allowed for me to go back to work in a timely manner... AND THAT IS A HUGE PLUS!Overall, thank you American Heating & Cooling. You guys are pretty cool.

We had them come out to do a heat adjustment and Manny noticed a gas smell that we had apparently gotten used to. A quick evaluation and he discovered a gas leak in our stove. Had he not spoken up and gone above and beyond, we could have been in danger. I’m so grateful he went above and beyond for us! Seriously some of the best service I could have ever asked for!

I had a brand new townhome that American installed the units into. On the first warm day noticed that the upstairs unit wasn’t working. Called them on a Tuesday. They came out Wednesday with parts to repair and then it still didn’t work. They said the compressor was bad and would have to see if they had one or order one. On Saturday I still haven’t heard from anyone. I called and they only have an on call service tech who said he has no parts and no access to the computer system to see if it was ordered. I then asked him to call his supervisor. He told me that nobody answered their phone and that he can’t do anything until Tuesday. A week later with 90 degree temps and they say sorry can’t do anything! I bet your competition would! Worst managed company I have encountered other than Comcast.

My wife and I purchased our home in 2018 as a new construction in Nashville. One day our drying machine went out as a result of a roof vent install error and American Heating and Cooling, Inc. paid for a brand new drying machine to be installed in its place since the old one was beyond repair. Not only did they do that.. they had it done in about 24 hours. And here we are one year out and our AC was freezing up due to a broken evaporator coil. They are replacing that within the week under warranty as well. Incredible service, would highly recommend to anyone in the Nashville area! Thank you to the service department at AH&C, you were very kind and super responsive to us with these issues.

American Heating and Cooling installed a new Carrier unit in my condo last week. They did such a good job on a complicated project. My new unit is so quiet and runs great. The techs installed a new air return because my old unit was getting enough air. Whoever installed it did not realize it needed more incoming air to work correctly. And, I got a great deal!

Abysmal. Technician came out to size the unit after I requested an estimate. I know a little, but not a lot about HVAC. I wanted a 3-ton. He wanted to sell a 2. He insisted I didnt need a 3 and that it would be a total waste of money. I argued with the guy; he called back the next day and faxed me a quote on a 2.5-ton which was a decent price. He still insisted even the 2.5 was more than I needed. Well, guess what, its summer in TN, and guess what, its 80 degrees upstairs every night when I get home. So unit is running 18 hours a day, and the upstairs wont get comfortable until about 9:00 PM. Well, Im the consumer so Im not buying from anyone anymore who wont sell me what I want. Going independent! Stay away from these guys as they have no clue what they are doing. They just know how to get kickbacks from Goodman, best I can tell! Im left with either replacing the unit again or adding a separate unit to carry my bonus room and blocking the 2.5s ducts to that room.

My upstairs air went out after another company fixed it a year ago. American got me right on the schedule and tech came out and explained the issue as a leaking evaporator coil and they could get the part and fix the next day. We were leaving for vacation the next day so I waited till I got back to call back and schedule it. At first they didnt have any availability till the following week, but later that day surprised me by getting me on the schedule two days later. My kids arent sweating to death anymore! Thanks American!

Last month I replaced my homes HVAC system. After checking with other companies I chose American Heating & Cooling after speaking with their sales rep, Thomas Bragg. Thomas was very knowledgeable and helped me select a Carrier unit within my budget. The installation team was professional and informative. Thomas also came by to monitor the install. I am very happy with the new system and would highly recommend American Heating and Cooling for any HVAC needs.

Highly recommend not using American Heating and Cooling. Installed 2 units in our brand new home and have had 4-5 issues since install in December 2016. In addition to the issues it has taken 2-3 visits to resolve each of these issues. If we were not under warranty through our builder we would not use American Heating and Cooling for any service.

They installed a brand new system in a brand new home and from the very beginning it was improperly installed and regulated. After nearly 9 (NINE!) months, 112+ calls & 10 or more visits, they still have not resolved the issues. An entire section of the house still has not been properly regulated. The Master Bedrm is an oven while the bath is an icebox in the winter. Now as the summer rolls in, it has turned out downstairs especially the master bed/bath into a wet swamp cooler. Uhh...improper installation from the very beginning and incompetent to make it right.Truthfully if I would go to another service provider I could, but do not have this option since they installed the unit in this new home subdivision. They have continually dropped the ball in their customer service and followup. They do NOT call you back when they say they will EVER.It is abundantly clear, their processes for installation, repair, follow up, customer service and insuring satisfaction are broken and utterly non-existent. They just dont give a dam#.They have earned an F because here we sit nearly a year later, still not resolved. Wow, I do not have enough words. Honestly there should be negative stars because this company has earned that across the board. I would never hire them if I had to choose a company. This one was thrust upon us in this new development. Save yourself a TON of headaches and hassle.

Terrible experience. I was installing nest and the fuse went out. Didnt realize. Called this company and technician immediately realized and replaced the fuse. Its a 2 minute fix. Came back with a major bill of $240.. I was shocked !!.. the technician left the old fuse on the ground and I picked it and googled the cost.. Guess what !... its around $3... For a $3 fuse and 2 minute of his service time, I paid $240...

Do not hire these people at all! This company has serviced my HVAC for 4 years now. Upon the last visit (about 3 weeks ago), the worker said that everything was good with my system. 1 week later, I had no air. I called for them to come back out. I had to fuss and argue with them to not charge me the emergency visit charge if $95.00 being that I just had the system serviced by their tech. When they came out again, I paid over $400 for them to fix the issue. 2 days later....no air. I called back and once again had to fuss with them to get them not to charge me the emergency visit fee; being that (once again) their tech was to have fixed the issue. 1 day after that....you got it....no air. Finally someone from customer service calls and sets up.an appt for Saturday from 1:00p-3:00p. Well, the tech called around 12:40p and said he was on his way. I told of him that I wouldnt be able until 3:00. In response her tells me to call the emergency hotline and pay the fee because he (and I quote) is on his way home. He didnt even honor the time frame! I still have no air!

Do not use this company! Installed a HVAC system in our brand new home 13 months ago. The system stopped working and would not honor the year warranty even though we were less than 30 days over it. Called to have a technician come out (and pay for a service fee) only to have them not show up or call. Followed up with their office and dealt with two of the most rude and inconsiderate individuals on the phone who told me it would be five days until I could get an appointment or I would have to pay the $99 service fee for them to come after hours.Steer clear of this rude, shady, and dishonest company and go with Covenant Heating and Air who has amazing customer service, friendly staff, and professionals who go above and beyond to take care of their customers. American Heating and Cooling is a joke and treat people like they are inconvenience when they boast about their amazing customer service on their website.

They suck! Called their customer service department today, talked to a woman named Brie who was so unhelpful as both an employee and a human. Attitude sucked, and her ability to help me as a customer sucked. Technician came to the house earlier this week and didnt fix the problem so I called for them to come back out and now (because this visit is free) cant get them to come back out for the next 4 days. SO RIDICULOUS!Dont hire them for anything, go with someone else. Your time and money will be wasted if you go with this company.

A friend referred me to American Heating & Cooling and they did a great job on my AC unit. I have used another company in the past that told me I just needed to replace my unit after looking at it for 5 min. The technician with American came out and did a full diagnosis on the unit and was able to repair it for under $ 300 and told me that if it broke within 30days of the repair that they would credit that towards a new unit. American definately saved me alot of $ on this one. It has been running fine for about 6 months since the repair.Thank YouJon G

This is a terrible company. I trusted them with HVAC during my renovation. They installed an incredibly awful mini split unit. When it went down 2 years after install I called them to do good on their warranty. After they sent out techs 3-4 times they consistently told me I needed to replace the entire unit out of pocket. I called one independent contractor who immediately noticed my freon cap was cracked, gave me a free one and filled the freon for $20. Problem solved. Maybe this is a good company for you if you want to get fleeced to help pay for more tacky wrapped vans in Nashville.

American heating cooling Saved me from a disaster happening I was desperately needing someone to help me with a bad leak coming from my ceiling, I called 7 company before I ran upon American H.C.they were the only ones willing to come and help me, in 2 hour they were there .Jose and Chris where my 2 Knights in shining amor, they were friendly courteous and efficient they fixed the problem in a timely manner and even went above and beyond there duties and swepted andmopped up all the water I had in the floor, all with a smile .I really appreciated that help.Thank you American H. Only give a 1 because I cannot give a zero. Terrible service. Called on Tuesday bc ac unit not working. Said they could either come out next day or it wouldnt be til the next week. Told them I wouldnt be home-lady said thats fine just leave the unit on--- letter on door saying later that they had come and gone because no one home. Called again and they came out the next day and said it would be 24 hours before they could fix. No one called to reschedule so I called and they said it would be another 4 days before they could get me on the schedule. Absolutely ridiculous.

They came out for a maintanence call on Dec. 6th. We left for out of town for several weeks with the units turned down to the lowest level. Keep in mind, we never had issues with these units at all. When we returned, we turned all the units up to normal operation and within hours one of the units was leaking water all over the floor in the basement. We called and setup an appt for them to check it. They checked it out, didnt do anything but said it was probably from a frozen water line outside. They then tried to charge me almost $300. Bad business, poor customer service, and the ladies on the phone were rude. Take your business elsewhere.

Very disappointed with their service. I bought a new house with a new unit (upstairs and downstairs) and have had someone come out three different times to fix the upstairs unit. Each time they seem sure theyve 100% fixed the problem.This morning our air went out yet again upstairs. We called customer service and they didnt seem interested in helping at all, told me I had to wait until 5pm to call the emergency line.From my experience, this company doesnt care about doing things the right way, and they obviously dont hold their employees to very high standards. Luckily Im still under warranty, but what scares me is that they will only keep halfway fixing the problem until my warranty is expired then Ill have to pay for it out of pocket.
