Our experience with GMRoth was nothing short of amazing. We had our kitchen completely remodeled over the past summer. This was no small feat given all the complications and issues caused by the pandemic. Our designer not only provided great ideas but listened closely to our needs and wants. The team carefully isolated the work area to insure safety. Not detail was too small to not make perfect. The results is that now 6 months after the kitchen is complete we still absolutely love it.
I called to learn more about the services GM Roth provides, the woman on the other end of the line was rude, brash and unprofessional. I have a large home that I am remodeling with 4 bathrooms and a kitchen in need of updating. Based on my interaction I will not be using their services. I am not one to leave reviews but I was shocked how I was treated especially when I was so excited and and enthusiastic to learn about the company.
From Drab to FAB in NH!I recently contacted GM Roth for a bathroom remodel. Jeff A and his team were so easy to work with. Each team member had the highest standards, and worked with pride to provide us with a beautiful new room. What sets GM Roth apart from others is the attention to detail, and high quality work.
We just completed our THIRD remodel with GM Roth and we are so thrilled with the results!! They have transformed our cold, dark cluttered basement into a bright and organized space with a bonus room for our family to work and play. Our daughter says that our basement is so beautiful that you could film a Hallmark Christmas movie there :) We continue to choose GM Roth for our home remodeling projects so that we do not have to worry about the stress of scheduling contractors and sub contractors. Their team works together to make sure that every detail from the design to the build is done right and professionally. If there is a problem, they are there to fix it and make it right. During COVID-19, they have put many new safety procedures in place and this helped us to feel comfortable during the remodel process. Our relationship began with a large kitchen/dining/living space remodel and they completely transformed our living space. We then had them remodel two of our bathrooms and finally the basement. We continue to return to them for our projects because we trust them and love working with their staff and sub-contractors. Their team goes above and beyond and we so grateful for their hard work and dedication.
Our initial consultation with GM Roth was August 4th. It took until the end of November for us to realize that our project would not be moving forward. During those (almost) 4 months, we were nothing but flexible and eager to work through the design process and start the addition on our home, however, once that retainer was paid and they received their check, we were the only ones trying to move the project along. We were the only ones trying to schedule meetings, following up, etc. We would be told we’d hear something in a week and two weeks later after still not hearing anything, we would reach out only to have a useless meeting scheduled where nothing was accomplished and no work had been done on GM Roth’s end. At one point, we had a meeting scheduled and showed up only to be told that the individual we were meeting with forgot to put it on his calendar and couldn’t meet. Completely unprofessional! Finally in November at another useless meeting, we were told that prices of lumber and other materials have now gone up and the cost of the project would be over 25% more than originally quoted. It was clear at that point that GM Roth never intended to do this project and that was their final attempt to get us to back out, which we did. We wanted to go with GM Roth and thought that the higher costs would mean more professionalism and communication, but our experience was the complete opposite. We do not recommend unless you like wasting several months of your life and losing thousands of dollars to poor professionalism and useless meetings.
We used GM Roth a couple years ago for a very complicated second floor addition that required to take down almost the whole 2nd floor and rebuild it, while also moving and remodeling the kitchen in the main floor. My house was very old and it not so great shape. An old cottage built and added on in a cheap way. So we knew that we were going to find plenty of complications along the way. Now that I look back, I cant even imagine if we had done this project with a different company. They did such an amazing job. They solved many puzzles and figured out potential complications even before they started took the first wall down.Gerry was very involved and spent many hours walking around the house and thinking the best way to tackle some of the road blocks he knew we were going to encounter. All the employees (Bill, Justin,.etc,) are also amazing, great guys and very responding before, during and after finishing the project. This is not one of those companies that will never return your call or you have to chase for a quote. They run an efficient business where customer satisfaction is importantThe workers are also very polite and they pick up every day.The end product exceeded my expectations. They really did an amazing job. They also guarantee their work so when we called a year later because a pipe was making annoying noises, they came in a few days and fixed it.Im incredibly happy with the job they did, especially because it wasnt easy at all and they finished it on time. Which was super important for us because we were living in the basement while the construction was going on and wanted to get out of there quickly.Even now 2 years later Im very grateful we found them and decided to hire them. The only downside is that they arent cheap, but if you want quality work, look no further.
Quick summary: Outstanding! High quality workmanship. Highly professional crews. Attentive and responsive throughout the project.I have been incredibly happy with my GM Roth remodeling project. From the initial planning through to the final inspection, the whole team has just been great. During the planning stages, their designers provided helpful insights and advice, and demonstrated abundant patience as I worked through all the decisions. Their construction crew and contractors were highly professional and their workmanship was excellent. Any concerns were immediately addressed. Communication was great.Given the scale of the project, it was a little overwhelming for me, as it included not only a full kitchen remodel, but also a new front entryway and window replacements. With the GM Roth team, I had complete confidence that it would all be well managed and well executed. With continuous communications, I was always aware of their activities, and even in those cases where I wasnt immediately available, I knew I could trust them to make the right decisions and do what needed to be done. They really did an outstanding job, and I am sincerely thankful for all their hard work and the amazing results!
Going with GM Roth was the best decision for our kitchen remodeling. From the designer Melissa to the project lead Brad we could not have had a better experience and end result. Their patience and support from the remodel details thru the project completion was awesome. Their professional attitude and communication is key to their success. We love our new kitchen and are so grateful to them. They were recommended to us and I would recommend them to all! Pat
Nice people and Im sure they do nice work, but after many meetings both in person and on zoom and after paying a $10,000 consultation fee I got nothing but some good ideas. They visited the property 3-4 times, measured everything multiple times and after 2 full months they still hadnt released a firm quote. This is a 1,500 square foot ranch house. I got a quote to knock it down and rebuild 100% brand new 1,800 square foot ranch for $310,000. When I informed them of the above I was told that they couldnt do the rehab for less than $300,000, and it took them 2 months to tell me that and this was a vacant property, which makes it a lot easier to work in. The rehab included NO appliances, no roof, and no HVAC work. Whereas I paid them $10,000 up front for a quote and design work, neither of which Ive ever received I made the mistake of not getting any other quotes and depended upon them to be fair and professional. Their contract states that in order to get copies of their drawing I would need to pay an additional fee, which I believe would be $24,000. Keep in mind, after more than 2 months, what I got was a phone call stating that it was going to be more than $300,000, a 1,500 square foot house with nothing fancy or high end.To add insult to injury, in 5 days time I have received estimates from 2 other contractors, both well below $200,000.I cant wait to see the response
Excellent company to do business with! When other contractors told me my job was too small, G.M Roth built my porch before winter as promised! The communication channels were the best Ive ever seen. Every step of the process I knew what was going on, from start to finish. They even took the time to come back a week later to ensure I was happy with the final product, not many companies do that nowadays. I will definitely call them for my next project.
During the process of building our dream home we hired G M Roth to design our kitchen and bathrooms. I specifically, worked with Terri Stevens. During the commencement of these projects, Terri listened to our needs, wants and designed us a beautiful kitchen accordingly while staying within our budget. Terri was extremely helpful, attentive and conducted herself in the utmost professional manner. Terri went above and beyond to make sure that we were completely 100% satisfied. She answered all of our questions and always returned our calls in a prompt manner. I highly recommend Terri Stevens at GM Roth. She is excellent and trustworthy. Our kitchen is our dream kitchen, thanks to Terri.
Our project began with both Terri and Gerry taking the time to listen to what we had been thinking. Gerrys vision and enthusiasm and Terris vision with her honed skills for detailed design gave us a perfect picture of what we had hoped for. Nick did a great job with installation. He communicated clearly and clarified any variables appropriately. He was very professional, tidy, and efficient. Our kitchen looks beautiful. They fully respected our budget and gave us ideas that would help us meet our ideals. We had no hitches. Everything was timed well, managed well, and effectively communicated. We strongly encourage you to engage GM Roth for any design and remodeling needs you might have.
I worked with Justin Miller on a design for my home. Justin took a good amount of time to explore what I wanted to accomplish as well as looking at other options that might give me the same result. The office meeting with Justin was very professional and included all of the details that we had discussed at our first meeting. In order to appreciate what GM Roth offers one has to understand that they are a design/build company. The end product will be based on all of the details that went into the planning phase. This was quite a different experience than what I had with other companies. The information and plan provided by GM Roth is substantive. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a complete understanding of their project and options
We were so pleased with the whole process, from the first day of demolition until the last day when we walked in and were in awe. The head of our project was Dana and he was fantastic. We would come home and there would be a list of what was to happen the next day and the week to come. The house was always spotless when we arrived home too. We would recommend GM Roth do anyone. We cant thank them enough to see such a transformation to our kitchen. We would also like to send our thanks to Terri Stevens, would brought our/her visions to light.Thank you to everyone who helped our dream come true, of our dream kitchen.
Had a somewhat involved project, very short lead time, and a hard completion date. G. M. Roth was one of 6 contractors that I called to give me a bid on the project. GM Roth and one other company provided quotes for the work. The team provided by GM Roth exceeded my expectations. The work was done efficiently, the work area kept clean, and all the workers were professional. Most importantly the work was completed by the date that had been set months before. All in all I am very pleased with the work that GM Roth performed and will be hiring them in the future.
This is the third remodeling project that GM Roth has carried out at our home: two bathrooms and the kitchen. We had exactly zero complaints with any of them. They do exemplary work, they make NO mess, the crews are friendly and polite, and they are creative with problem solving. When we were about to begin the kitchen remodel we were resigned to having to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink. However the the lead carpenter made it possible, with the judicious use of a few 2 x 4s, that the kitchen sink remained open for business for most of the project. Awesome. Dont hesitate to call this company. Christine Carroll, Nashua, NH
Absolutely loved this remodeling experience! Sharon Sargent guided us through all design options and was simply wonderful. Each individual encountered throughout the design and remodeling was great! the results were stunning and will be enjoyed for years to come Thank You,Barbara Wood
Great job. Wonderful head of project here in the person of Marc Gagne. Project coordination suffered from not enough people handling that responsibility from headquarters. Took too long to complete but were thrilled with the final outcome. Would work with GM Roth again, but would be more insistent on completing job on time by contacting the project coordinator on a regular basis.
Excellent work and communication thoughout the process. Finished the job only 2 days late against the original 11 week schedule, even though the local inspectors availability ended up creating a week of no work in the middle of the schedule. Finish work is fantastic!
GM Roth charges a deposit for remodeling estimates,Then over charges customer by triple, then keeps the deposit when customer tries to walk away.I contacted GM Roth about having a kitchen remodel completed, when there sales rep/designer (Pam) showed up she had me sign a contract stating that all her designs were property of GM Roth and that when a complete kitchen contract was signed this deposit of ($1800) would be added toward the project.Pam and I spent several hours going over my budget and my concerns, two weeks latter my design plans are ready.Pam is $20,000 over budget, I leave to discuss this with my husband.I decide to not go through with this project but instead give my kitchen a face lift instead. I contact Pam stating that I would like a second quote simply for granite to get installed. During this I got a second quote for granite.I return to GM Roth to have yet another estimate completely insult me, they are three times more expensive. I contact Pam to tell her I feel that these quotes are outrageous and that they are a direct attempt to retrieve $1800 deposit from people and never have actually done anything. This is a horrible dishonest business practice.
GM Roth is putting the cart in front of the horse. Why are they charging you for a set of plans before you even see their estimate. Estimating is a cost of doing business. Any intelligent client will always get at least 3 estimates for comparison. 99.9 % of GCs will provide you with a FREE estimate. Having a potential client pay $1,800 for a bathroom, or kitchen plan that they may, or may not even use is an unheard of business practice. So, if you dont like GM Roths estimate, you lose $1,800???!!! There are business laws against those types of business negotiations in the state of Massachusetts. I would contact the Office of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulations & the Division of Professional Licensure Board of Building Regulations.
We just finished a 950 sq ft basement renovation with G.M Roth and we love it. Gerry and his whole team are great to work with. This is our fourth project with his team. In a previous home we did a complete kitchen and master bath reno and it was perfect. In our next home we did a master bath reno and again - perfect. In our current home we have also had office built ins installed. Each and every time we are completely satisfied. All of his staff and all the subcontractors are top notch. They are neat, clean, on time and do great work. We have always felt comfortable with all the contractors which have come into the house. If the need ever arises we will hire Gerry again for any of our construction needs!!
I hired this company for a SMALL bath remodel based on two things: A completely positive experience several years ago when they remodeled my mothers first floor so she could stay in her 3 level home, and the recent reviews (in the past year) which made me think they were still a top level company. Nothing could be further from the truth. To start with, the FIRST thing I questioned was the ability of this company to have me orchestrating things from Virginia (finances, materials, schedule compliance with my daughter whose home the remodel was taking place in) and I was ASSURED this was No problem at all. That was a complete fabrication on the Sales persons part. Almost from the get go, the fact that I was in Virginia and the need to communicate with me was used as an excuse for all of the subsequent issues - of which there were MANY.I asked - before going ahead with signing the contract how long it would take for this bath remodel - especially since we were taking this small room down to the studs. Best case scenario, one week, worst case, two weeks. Well the worst case scenario was put into place - and it ended up taking almost five weeks. The contributing factors right from the outset was the firing of the project manager on DAY ONE of this job (which we found out from the lone worker who showed up that day). That worker stayed ONE HOUR on day one. Other issues were the lack of planning on GM Roths part - poor scheduling and bringing inspectors in days after work was completed and doing nothing in between. Another issue one day was the lack of material being on site, even though it had been approved weeks ahead of time - causing the worker to leave to go make the purchase. The installation of the BRAND NEW drywall turned into a minor nightmare, with the walls not being furred out properly, resulting in a wavy wall that had to be reworked twice. When the shower rod was installed, the damage to the wall where the supports were was so significant, it took a week of rescheduling repairs and repainting. The floor protection was laid down OVER heating vents. The electrical ended up interfering with the medicine cabinet - which is why we specifically asked that it all be moved from the location it was at. With the walls completely torn out, there was no excuse that we will accept that it couldnt be moved where we wanted it.Week two or three into the job, the SECOND project Manager was fired/let go - were not sure. All we know is that he suddenly disappeared from the job and a third PM was put in place. Multiple issues with communication resulted and somewhere in the next few weeks, one of the excuses for delays etc was that It is difficult to know who to talk to - the mother in Virginia or the homeowner in New Hampshire. My daughters very pointed reply to that was If its finances, talk to my mother, if you need to get in the house, try the homeowner? (Insert sarcastic tone at this point since we were both entirely over dealing with GM Roth.I have every single email from GM Roth as they continually apologized for the mess they were making of this very small bathroom remodel - so when they reply to this review with further excuses as to why it didnt go well - lets just say I wont be surprised. They said (several times) that due to the horrible experience they foisted on us, they were going to do a post mortem of the project from start to finish so these things wouldnt happen again. Yet, somehow, after receiving final payment from me, not a single person has asked my daughter or myself to participate in this process. We delivered EVRYTHING we promised, including an outstanding demolition of the bathroom and payment AS SOON AS it was requested. GM Roth delivered some quality work in two areas - the installation of the tub/shower and the floor tile installation. On absolutely everything else, they delivered poor workmanship, rework after rework, serious communication issues, multiple project managers, and excuse after excuse.
G.M.Roth has done several projects for us since 1996. We keep coming back to them for several reasons. Their work is always high quality. They are committed to doing the job right and to their customers satisfaction. Questions and concerns are always respectfully and thoroughly addressed. If the need arrises we will be calling on them again.
I met Amanda and Dean from G.M. Roth and it was clear to me that their customers matter -- they were sincere and focused on finding ways to improve the service provided.
Excellent customer service, very professional. Listens to the customer. High quality work.
Well run professional business
This company does not pay, I completed a concrete slab for Bill Doherty and because the foundation company who I worked for had a falling out with Bill Doherty on a mistake. I completed concrete floor from my own business. Told me I would get paid for many months, nothing.
Friendly people and easy to work with. Love the results.
